Air: The airport is about 30 kms from the capital city of Panaji and is owned by the Indian Navy. Major airline operators such as Air India, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Kingfisher Airlines, Go Air, Jet Lite & Indigo have flights carrying passengers and cargo in and out of Goa. Besides these, a number of chartered flights land in Goa from UK and other European countries.

Rail:TheThe Konkan Railway has trains which ply between Mumbai and Goa and other destinations. The latest updated schedules for these are available on the official Konkan Railway website. The South Central Railway has one train, the Nizamuddin Goa Express coming in daily in the early morning. This train departs from Delhi and comes to Goa via Pune.

Road: Goa is connected with all the major towns in India via the National Highways NH4A, NH17 and NH17A. In most places along the way, the highway roads are in excellent condition and motorable at fairly good speeds. There are bus services operating from Goa to most towns and cities in neighbouring states, such as Mumbai, Pune, Belgaum, Hubli, Bangalore, Mangalore etc. at fairly regular intervals throughout the day.

The lake and forested hills of this reserve, 32 km from Bikaner on the Jaisalmer road, are inhabited by wildfowl, hares , wild boar, desert foxes and a number of deer and antelopes including black bucks and blue bulls. Kuttralam or Kuttalam, Spa of South India, is a panchayat town situated at a mean elevation of 520 ft on the Western Ghats in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu, India. Many seasonal and few perennial rivers such as the Chittar River, the Manimuthar River, the Pachaiyar River and the Tambaraparani River originate in this region. The numerous waterfalls and cascades along with the ubiquitous health resorts in the area have earned it the title the Spa of South India.The falls carry a good amount of water only when there is a rain on the hills. Season begins from June of every year till September. The South West Monsoon brings in the cold breeze with mild temperature. From October to December North East Monsoon sets over in Tamil Nadu and the climate is cold and the rains are very heavy sometimes. Sometimes the falls get flooded and people are not allowed to take bath during floods.

Falls in Courtallam:

Courtallam has nine waterfalls.

1. Peraruvi (main falls) the biggest falls in Courtallam, is about 60m high. The flow of water is interrupted by the Pongumakadal, a 19m deep crater and comes down with greatly reduced impact, making a bath safe.

2. In Chitraruvi (small falls), the flow is thin. Here naturally separate places for men and women are there to bathe.

3. At Shenbagadevi falls, the water flows through shenbaga (Michaelia champak) trees.

4. About 3 km from this is Thenaruvi (honey falls), 40m high and cascading between two large stones. In places where there is no water, one sees big honeycombs. Thenaruvi is very dangerous and it is restricted for public. But it is very common to see people visiting and bathing in Thenaruvi.

5. Aintharuvi (five falls) has five separate cascades of water form this waterfalls.

6. From the orchard above flows Pazhathotta Aruvi, the 'VIP falls'. Only VIP's are allowed in Pazhathotta Aruvi.

7. The Pazhaya Courtalla Aruvi (Old Courtallam falls) used to fall into a valley from between two rocks. The valley was closed and the rocks were broken to change the course of water and make bathing easier. It was reopened later.

8. The artificial Puli Aruvi (Tiger Falls) has a moderate flow of water which collects in a lake and is diverted for irrigation, sometimes tigers visit this place for water.

9. There is another small falls inside the Government Horticulture Park above Five Falls, but it is off limits to the public.

The three major waterfalls reachable by road are the Main Falls, Five Falls, and Old Courtallam Falls. Other waterfalls like Shenbaga Devi Falls and Honey Falls are reachable only by trekking on the mountain.

Therkumalai Estate can be reached from Honey falls in 1 hour, which is roughly at 2000 ft altitude.
Boat Houses near the Five Falls and Old Courtallam Falls.
Snake Park nears to the Main Falls.
Aquarium near the Main Falls.
Children's Park.

Transport:

Roadways: Courtallam is mainly connected by bus transport to the two main cities of Tenkasi and Shenkottai. Tirunelveli to Shenkottai buses are frequently available in Courtallam. Buses are frequently available only during the season time. In the remaining months most of the buses takes Ilanji to reach Shenkottai. Like buses to Old Courtallam also available during the season time only.

Railways: There are no railway stations in Courtallam. But from the Tenkasi Railway station, one can reach Courtallam within 20 minutes by road.

Podhigai Express which comes from Chennai Egmore to Shenkottai and vice versa.
Shenkottai to Tirunelveli Passenger and vice versa.
Shenkottai to Madurai local Passenger and vice versa.

Some special trains from Chennai Egmore and Tuticorin are run by Southern Railway occasionally during season and festival time.

Rail:
Dehradun railway station (DDN) is the nearest junction located at a short distance from the main city. Regular trains from all parts of India have a stoppage here.

Road:
Uttarakhand State buses runs regular buses from all parts of the state, nearby cities and even from Delhi (Kashmera Gate). The Dehradun bus station is about 5-6 km away from the main city and a cab or taxi should be hailed from the same. NH44, NH334, NH307 are the national highways passing through the city.

Places to Visit

1. Kurnool Fort, which belongs to the 16th century, is famously called as Kondareddy Burz. The fort was constructed by Achyuta Devarayalu of Vijayanagar Empire. The remnants of the ruined fort speak of the glory of the architecture involved in the construction of the fort. The prison of this fort still stands strong and this prison was named Kondareddy Burz after the name of Konda Reddy, a rebel, who breathed his last here.

2.Belum Caves are ranked second largest after Meghalaya Caves and it is the longest cave in India. Out of the three well like cavities, the one in the middle serves as the main entrance. The exquisite formations of stalactite and stalagmite are stunning. So is color illumination of Belum Caves. The caves present an interesting study to the onlooker with its musical chamber, meditation hall, simhadwaram and patalganga. The caves rightly deserve the title ‘Unique Eco-Tourism Project’ bestowed on it by the Indian government.

3. Nallamala Forest is a great way to relieve the mind off stress and elevate the spirits to a higher plane. Located in the Nallamala Hill, you will find yourself amidst a wonderful landscape that houses tigers and panthers. Nallamala Forest is considered the largest stretch of forest that is undisturbed in South India if you exclude the Western Ghats. Sikhareswaram is the highest peak with 2835 ft height in the Nallamala Hills. An ancient temple of Lord Shiva is seen here. Cumbum Lake that belongs to the 15th century is also found here and it is considered one among the oldest lakes made by man in Asia.

4. Rollapadu Bird Sanctuary is situated 60 km from Kurnool. The place is a paradise for bird watchers as a great variety of birds are seen here. Birds apart, one could find wild animals and reptiles too. Covering an area of 614 sq.km, the thorny forests and grasslands of the sanctuary make it the ideal abode for birds. Great Indian bustard is the most famous attraction here. Fox, wolf, jackal and cobra are some of the wild species found here.Typically known as a centre for preserving the Great Indian Bustard, the sanctuary has witnessed a rise in the population of the Blackbuck and a related slip in the numbers of the bird.

5. Adoni Fort is very ancient as it is considered to have been found in 1200 BC by Chandra Sen. Located on five rocky hills of granite, the fort was a stronghold during Vijayanagar and Muslim rule. The fort is mostly in ruins but the remnants are proof enough to explain its past glory.

6.Kondareddy Burz, Thought the fort has lost a lot to ruins, it continues to be one of the highlights of the town and has been a landmark for Kurnool since ages. The structure was built by the rulers of the Vijayanagar Empire. The modest looking structure, once housed a tunnel that passed from under the Tungabhadra river and still holds a majestic watch tower, looking over to the city that grew around it.

Famous for its Sambalpuri Saree, the Sambalpur District is the western part of state of Odisha. Places to Visit:

The Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary stands out from all the wildlife sanctuaries in the state in terms of sighting wild animals. One of the major reasons for this is its proximity to the Hirakud dam as it provides a perfect water source host for the animals, birds and aquatic fauna of the sanctuary. Apart from the animals already inhabiting the sanctuary, migratory birds also come to explore the nearly 150 km2 area of the Hirakud reservoir. As the dam is a standing water body, many varieties of diving ducks can be seen. The sanctuary may welcome the largest number of diving ducks in winter compared to all the other sanctuaries in Orissa. Birds such as the red crested pochard and great crested grebe are seen in large numbers. During 2008 there was a bird census and the sanctuary reported more than 32,000 winged visitors.

There are six eco-tourism cottages in the sanctuary at Barkhandia and each has all the facilities to accommodate a complete family or two adults. Most importantly, the tariff includes all meals. Permission for the entry into the sanctuary is available at the gates, but to stay in the eco-tourism cottages one has to get the DFO's permission from the office in Sambalpur town after paying the fees.

Cattle Island exists in one of the extreme points of Hirakud Reservoir, a natural wonder. It is near Kumarbandh village of Belpahar-Banharpali range which is about 90 km from Sambalpur. The island is a submerged hill, and before the construction of Hirakud Dam it was a developed village. During the resettlement period, villagers left some of their cattle behind; when the dam construction was over, the cattle settled on the hilltop. With the passage of time the nearby area filled up with the reservoir water, turning the hilltop into an island. Being away from mankind, the cattle are now wild, very swift and not easily caught. Living on a hilltop with dense forest, they are larger than tame cattle, almost all of which are white in colour. Nearby residents attempt to capture these animals from time to time, but these hunts are rarely successful. Though descended from tame cattle, these animals provide a contrasting picture of this breed of animal returning to life in the wild. If the visit to this island is taken by a boat in the Hirakud reservoir it's an adventurous trip with breathtaking views.

Khangchendzonga National Park (previously named Kanchenjunga National Park) also Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve is a National Park and a Biosphere reserve located in Sikkim, India. It was inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list on July 17, 2016, becoming the first "Mixed Heritage" site of India. The park gets its name from the mountain Kanchenjunga (alternative spelling Khangchendzonga) which is 28,169 ft tall, the third-highest peak in the world. There are many glaciers in the park including the Zemu glacier. Animals like musk deer, snow leopard, Clouded Leopard, and Himalayan tahr all make their home in this park.

Trekking: Most of the trekking routes starts from Yuksom (145 km from Gangtok) in West Sikkim. State Tourism Department along with other travel agents organize treks to Dzongri (13,290 ft) and other places.

The popular trek routes are: Yuksom - Tshoka - Dzongri Bakim - Dzongri - Thangshing - Samuteng - Goechala Dzongri Base Camp - Rathong – Khangerteng Thangshing - Lam Pokhari - Kasturi Orar - Labdang not ladang - Tashiding.

Another popular trekking point includes trekking to the Green Lake with Lachen, a village in North Sikkim as the starting point. Foreign nationals would require a restricted area permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Delhi to visit the park and the associated region.

Indian nationals are required to obtain an Inner-Line Permit from the State Home Department. Permission of the State Chief Wildlife Warden is also mandatory for everybody visiting the park. Coorg, or also known as Kodagu is one of the most beautiful lands placed in the heart of the Southern Indian peninsula. Flying off (Microlight): Coorg Sky Adventures give you the opportunity to experience the chilly winds on your face, in a two-seater open plane that takes you to the height of 3500 sq. ft. This activity is highly impacted by the weather conditions and time of the day.

Tadiyandamol peak (1,745 meters) is the highest peak in Coorg and poses an exciting challenge to seasoned trekkers. The peak is located in the south-eastern part of Coorg and is 8 km from the town of Kakkabe which is 35 km from Madikeri. The NALAKNAD PALACE, built by Dodda Veerarajendra in 1792, serves as the base camp for trekkers who can make an overnight stay before climbing the Tadiyandamol peak in the morning’ It is worth recalling a brief history of the Nalaknad Palace.

Chitrakote Falls - Chhattisgarh

The Chitrakote Falls is a natural waterfall located to the west of Jagdalpur, in Bastar district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh on the Indravati River. It is located at a distance of 38 kilometres to the west of Jagdalpur. The height of the falls is about 29 metres. It is the widest fall in India. Because of its width and wide spread during the monsoon season, it is often called the Niagara Falls of India.

The Chitrakote Falls is located on the Indravati River. The river originates in the kalahandi region of Odisha, in the Vindhya Range of hills, flows westward and then forms a fall at Chitrakote, enters Andhra Pradesh and finally flows into the Godavari River, after traversing 390 km in the state, at Bhadrakali

Chitakoot Falls is one of the two of the waterfalls located in the Kanger Valley National Park, the other is Teerathgarh Falls.

Other Features:

Local boat facilities operating below and under the falls in a misty atmosphere provide views of the falls under an early morning sun in reflected sun light and in a blue hue.

In the low flow season, paddle boats are used in pools formed in the upstream part of the falls. In the pool below the falls, swimming is permitted and paddle boats are permitted. Local boatmen can paddle their boats under the spray below the falls.

Adventure sports enthusiasts use boats in the stormy part of this pond.

Apart from many large hydro electric power plants on the Indravati river, a small power plant of 7.5 MW capacity has been planned to utilize the head at the Chitrakote falls, though no irrigation is envisaged.

Kankaria Lake - Gujarat

Kankaria Lake, formerly known as Hauz e Qutub, is the second largest lake in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is located in the south-eastern part of the city, in the Maninagar area. A lakefront is developed around it, which has many public attractions such as a zoo, toy train, kids city, tethered balloon ride, water rides, water park, food stalls, and entertainment facilities. The lakefront was revamped in 2008. Kankaria Carnival is a week-long festival held here in the last week of December. Many cultural, art, and social activities are organised during the carnival.

Kankaria Zoo, officially Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden, was established by Rueben David in 1951 spread over 21 acres. It was rated the best zoo in Asia in 1974.They are 450 mammals, 2,000 birds, 140 reptiles in a 31-acre zoo. It is a treasure of wild animals like tigers, lions, python, anaconda, snakes, elephant, albinos (white), like the rhesus monkey, spotted deer, white blackbuck, chinkara, elephants, emu, jungle babbler, bush-quail and common palm civet.

Balvatika It is a children's park named after Jawaharlal Nehru. Balvatika has a boat house, playroom, butterfly and weapon displays, mirror house, toy house and planetarium.

Amusement Park Netherlands based company installed five rides in the amusement park in 2014. It includes the Boomerang Roller Coaster, the Flipping Arm, the Torching Tower, Disk 'O' pendulum and the merry-go-round. It will also have a kids play zone for computer games

Kids City is a miniature world designed for kids. It is spread in 4240 sq.metre area having 18 activity centres including banks, fire station, science lab, radio station, police station, court room and prison, dental as well as medical hospital, theatre, BRTS, heritage gallery, town governance, IT centre, News room, ice-cream factory, etc. AMC had applied for copyrights and patents on the individual games in the premises, the unique point system, Virmo (Virtual Money) and the design of the different venues in games.

India's biggest Stone Mural Park named Gurjar Gaurav Gatha on the side walls of the circular lake in which sculptors are depicting, in pink sand stone, the history and rise of Gujarat is under construction. It has murals covering 3150 sq feet depicting the history of Ahmedabad right now but when completed, it will measure 6000 feet in length and will be world's largest mural (30000 sq.metre).

Other attractions include historical Natural History Museum, desert safari, aquarium, gardens like One Tree Hill garden, Butterfly Park, football ground, water sports and rides, open-air theatre, Jaldhara water park, boating and small amusement park. Dassam Falls: Dassam falls is 34 km from Ranchi on Ranchi-Tata Road near a village called Taimara. Here, the Kachni river falls from an altitude of 144 ft (44 m). It is also known as Dassam Gagh.

Jonha Falls: Jonha Falls is also known as Gautamdhara, is around 40 km from Ranchi. It is approachable by both Road and train. The fall can be admired by descending around 500 steps.
