Animal, directed by the acclaimed Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has been setting screens on fire since its release. The adrenaline-pumping plot, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in a never-seen-before avatar, has captivated audiences. The makers of the film announced the above offer on Tuesday morning through their verified social media handles. 

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that recently, the cast and crew of the film gathered for a success bash. During the event, Ranbir Kapoor spoke to the press and broke his silence for the first time over the criticism his film faced. He defended the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film and asserted, “I want to thank all of you for being here today to celebrate Animal. It is a film that a section of people had an issue with but I feel the kind of love, success and the numbers (it has received) proves that nothing goes beyond the love for a movie. Nothing goes beyond movies.”

For the unversed, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, was released in five languages (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada) on December 1, 2023. Produced by T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios, the film quickly attracted footfalls at the box office and collected over Rs 550 crores at the Indian box office.

It chronicles Gulzar's life and career, from his early days as a poet to his success as a filmmaker and lyricist. He has compiled his interactions over 15 years with Gulzar in the book. Other guests at the launch included Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer and poet Sheen Kaaf Nizam, and filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.

A report by ANI, quoted publisher Arun Maheshwari saying, “Gulzar Saab: Hazara Rahein Mud Ke Dekhin... will open alleys of learnings and stories about the master craftsman Gulzar saab. Yatindra has done a commendable work in delicately compiling his interactions with the legend.” In addition to this, the CEO of the group, Aditi Maheshwari believes that this book will contribute poetic continuity to the legendary generation of Gulzar to the younger ones. A report by Hindustan Times quoted a source saying, “There is inside chatter in the industry that Shah Rukh Khan is signing a Vishal Bhardwaj film for his next. The plan is in sync with his desire to keep surprising the audiences with his film choices.” The report also stated that it will be a typical “Vishal Bhardwaj film with all the thrills and shades that he likes to weave in his stories”.

The source explained to the portal, “Bhardwaj’s world of cinema is very different from the cinematic world and image of Shah Rukh. But the actor is ready to take it up as it offers something new to him. He has really liked the script with the two being in discussion mode for the same at the moment.”

Concluding the scoop, the source said, “Shah Rukh has made all such unconventional choices all through his career. He has also worked with Amol Palekar in Paheli in the past, so it will be interesting what he would bring to Bhardwaj’s world. However, the industry is waiting for confirmation from either of them soon.”

While the moviegoers have to wait for the official announcement for the confirmation of the same, it is worth noting that Vishal has often expressed his desire to work with SRK. Readers may recall that during the promotions of Khufiya, Vishal, in an interview with News18, had revealed, “At one point, we came very close to doing a film. It was announced also and we were going to shoot but somehow it didn’t happen.”

Earlier when the film was announced the makers revealed about the shooting commencement details but however, the location was kept under wraps. As per a Pinkvilla report, it has now been revealed that Vijay Varma will commence the shoot from Tuesday onwards in Amritsar and he is expected to be accompanied by leading lady Fatima Sana Shaikh. But it is yet to known as to when the rest of the cast including Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi will be joining them.

Directed by Aditya Datt and produced by Action Hero Films, Crakk boasts an impressive cast. Action hero Vidyut Jammwal leads the charge, joined by Nora Fatehi, Arjun Rampal, and Amy Jackson. The accused, initially identifying themselves as Mahesh Kumar Ramniwas and Vinod Kumar Radheshyam, were identified as Ajesh Kumar Gila (23) and Gursewak Singh Sikh (23) from Punjab's Fazilka district upon inspection. Farmhouse manager Shashikant Sharma, alerted by security guard Mohammed Hussain, detained the pair after they tried scaling the fence and tree compound.

A discovery unfolded when police found fraudulent photographs on their Aadhaar cards, raising further questions about their motives. Both individuals now face charges of trespassing and using fake identification. 

It is worth mentioning that this incident comes at a time when Salman Khan's security concerns are already at an elevated level. Following the threatening email in February, Mumbai police upgraded his security to Y plus status and registered an FIR against notorious gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, also implicated in singer Sidhu Moosewala's murder. Increased security measures at Khan's Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai, allowing fans to assemble, were also implemented.

In an interview with Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, Khan opened up about the impact of heightened security on his life. "Security is better than insecurity," he acknowledged while expressing concerns about the inconvenience it causes to others and even him. "Now there are so many Sheras around me, so many guns are going around with me that I am myself scared these days," he said, referring to his bodyguard Shera.

In 2021, Ranaut revisited the 2016 meeting during a televised interview, prompting Akhtar to file a defamation complaint against her. Ranaut, however, didn't back down. She filed a cross-complaint against Akhtar, alleging criminal conspiracy, extortion, and invasion of privacy.

The legal saga took another turn in July 2023 when a Mumbai court dropped the extortion charge against Akhtar. However, he was summoned to appear for offences under Sections 506 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to harassment and outraging modesty. Akhtar challenged the summons order in a higher court, leading to a stay on the proceedings. Now, Ranaut has approached the Bombay High Court, seeking a similar stay on Akhtar's defamation case against her.

Ranaut argues that both her complaint and Akhtar's complaint stem from the same incident and should be heard together to avoid conflicting judgments. She believes that staying Akhtar's case until the revision application is decided would be in the interest of justice and ensure a fair trial. The Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear Ranaut's petition on January 9, 2024.

The baby will be born in America as Sierra’s mother is there. Anshuman lost his mother and father in 2020 and he stressed on the importance of having grandparents around in childhood. He said, “Having your mom around is critical at this time for the mother and the child. I wish my mom was around. And Sierra is blessed to have her mom and dad by her side.”

While it is legal in America to know whether it’s a boy or a girl, the couple have intentionally chosen to not find out. Said Anshuman, “We want to be surprised. Let nature take its course. The child is not coming from us, it is only coming through us, and we will be grateful for whatever God blesses us with. We are very grateful. It felt the closest to the feeling of seeing God when you see a dot on screen in the first sonography. I felt like that’s it, I see God, the soul, life in essence.”

On the work front, Anshuman was last seen in Lakadbaggha last year. He is currently training for the sequel of the film. He has an ambitious project in Hari Om alongside veteran actor Raghuvir Yadav. His directorial debut Lord Curzon Ki Haveli is also scheduled for a release in 2024.

Touted to be one of the most awaited sequels, the film has gone on floor on 6th January in Mumbai and brings together director Rajkumar Gupta and producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The film is scheduled to be shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

In a statement to ETimes, Timmy Narang said that they were contemplating divorce for one and half years before taking the decision. He said, “The divorce was granted in November last year, and it was on amicable terms. Both of us are now free to move on with our lives, which is a fact. So, I don’t see why there should be any confusion regarding that. While I haven’t read the latest report, considering the legal option isn’t even an option because the divorce has already come through, it’s as simple as that.”

The source was earlier quoted saying, “The couple parted ways due to compatibility issues, which cropped up a while ago. They tried every bit to save the marriage but didn’t succeed. Isha has moved out of the house and is living separately with their daughter.”

A well-placed industry source opened up about Masti 4 being in the pipeline and told Bollywood Hungama, “Yes, its true. They are planning to revive the Masti franchise. It is expected to be one of the first of its kind in sex comedies and the makers are keen on wanting to take it ahead. In fact, the script is ready and Milap Zaveri has also come on board as the director.” When asked further about the casting, the source added, “Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani are aware of this and they can’t wait to reunite. They last came together for this film, almost seven years ago. But the makers are currently busy looking for the leading ladies and are yet to finalize on the same”.

Further, when questioned as to why the makers have not announced the same, the source revealed that they are waiting for the time and shared, “20 years ago, in April 2004, the first film, Masti released. As it completes twenty years this year, they will be making an announcement on the same day, or they, Indra Kumar and Ashoke Thakeria might look at commencing shoot around the same time.”

Meanwhile, speaking of the cast, while the first instalment of Masti featured an ensemble cast of Lara Dutta, Ajay Devgn, Genelia D’Souza, Amrita Rao, and Tara Sharma, the second instalment Grand Masti had Sonalee Kulkarni, Manjari Fadnis, Karishma Tanna, Mariyam Zakharia, Bruna Abdullah, and Kainaat Arora in lead roles. Celebrating the unsung heroes of the Income Tax Department, Raid 2 yet again will narrate a true case from their books. The makers took to social media to mark the return of the franchise with a first look poster. Although the poster refrained from revealing the look Ajay Devgn will sporting in the film, it featured a caption that read, “The wait is over! Ajay Devgn is back as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik in #Raid2, ready to bring another true case to the big screen on 15th November 2024!. The shoot has commenced on January 6, and we hear that while it kicked started in Mumbai. It will also be extensively shot in other places like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Readers would be aware that the prequel captivated audiences with its gripping narrative, and now, with the sequel underway, Raid 2 promises even more intensity with double the drama and suspense.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar under their banner T-Series and Panorama Studios, the film will release theatrically on November 15, 2024. Further details on the casting are still awaited.

A source close from the production confirmed the same adding that she has already taken permission for this break as she is keen on attending the bash and celebrating the success of one of the record-breaking films this year. The source revealed, “Rashmika, who has been shooting for a song for her upcoming film Pushpa 2 has taken special permissions from the producers of the film to make a quick trip to Mumbai amidst shoot, to be part of the success party of Animal. She will be flying to Mumbai on Saturday just in time for the party and returning to Hyderabad to resume shoot. Clearly the celebration would have been incomplete without her!”.

Speaking of the success bash, the entire team of the film will be seen hosting celebrations in Mumbai and it is undoubtedly anticipated to be a star-studded affair. And Rashmika's presence is expected to add an extra layer of excitement. Rashmika’s role as Gitanjali seems to have made space in the hearts of many and we hear that the actress will also play an integral role in the sequel to the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, titled Animal Park.

Meanwhile, talking about Pushpa 2, the film will too see her reprise the character of Srivalli and it will also feature Fahadh Faasil in an integral role along with Allu Arjun as the lead. The film is scheduled for release on August 15 this year.

For the unversed, earlier today, on January 5, Kshitij Dholakia, who is also quite popular on social media, posted a video featuring Urvashi Dholakia lying on the hospital bed with a saline stand on the side. This left many of her well-wishers worried. Moreover, her son also posted the message ‘Get Well Soon’ which further added to concern. It seems that the Naagin actress had to undergo a small surgery and is currently in the process of recovering from the same. Speaking about her health, Urvashi said, “I had to undergo surgery as a tumour (cyst) was diagnosed in the neck in early December 2023. A source very close to the project revealed, “Shah Rukh and Karan are working together again. It is most likely that Shah Rukh’s next project would be the one with Karan. They are throwing various ideas to one another. Karan wants to do an action film with Shah Rukh. Karan has never directed an action film. But SRK has done two back-to-back action films and is not too keen on doing another action film. On the other hand, after Dunki he is not interested any more in doing something experimental either.”

So, what’s it going to be? Even as we talk, efforts are on to come up with an idea that would be as memorable for the SRK-KJO combination as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name Is Khan and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.

Regular viewers of the show would be aware that the relationship between Samarth Jurel and Abhishek Kumar has taken a lot of attention in the past few days and the two actors have constantly been at each other’s throats. As per a report in India Today, a source revealed that Ankita Lokhande was asked by the master of the house regarding the action to be taken against Abhishek Kumar who has broken one of the most important rules of the house – which is to not get physical in anger. Considering the same, Ankita decided to oust Kumar from the BB house and she always received a consent from most of the other participants. However, we hear that Abhishek has been left disappointed with this decision. "Abhishek was distraught by the decision given the finale is in just three weeks. He reasoned how he had been poked by Samarth for many days and that’s why he reacted. He also seemed furious at Samarth and Isha Malviya for pushing him out of the show," the source added.

Sonnalli Seygall decided to take to X, formerly known as Twitter, in an attempt to reach out to the airlines after she mentioned how all the ways of trying to communicate with them about her luggage crisis has failed. Sonnalli said in her post, “So I had been warned that @flyspicejet should be entirely avoided based on experiences of my friends n family. Maybe I should’ve listened..”. She went on to elaborate on the issue as she continued, “as I not only lost my bags during my recent flight, but when I finally received, one of the bags is entirely broken! And the 3rd one still not found.” She also opened up about the lack of response she received when she tried to raise an issue as she shared, “The customer support is unwilling and mechanical in their replies and really of not much help.” She concluded by adding, “Hoping to get this resolved soon”. However there has been no response from the airlines as yet regarding the matter.

According to a report in Peeping Moon, the project is set to roll later this year in 2024. A source revealed, “Janhvi Kapoor has been brought on board to play a new “Dulhania” opposite Varun. Alia is not returning to the cherished franchise, and while the reason for her absence remains unclear (it could be her busy schedule in 2024), it has benefited Janhvi as she has bagged her first franchise film with this title.”

Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported, “Varun, Shashank, and Karan Johar have discussed several ideas for Dulhania 3 and have finally locked one. The film is all set to go on floors at the end of 2024 and the makers have begun the hunt for a new actress to play Dulhania to Varun. There is a high chance for Karan and Varun to launch a fresh face with the new Dulhania film.”

However, on January 5th afternoon, Karan Johar took to Instagram stories to clarify. Raj Mehta, acclaimed for Good Newwz and Jug Juggjeeyo, is poised to direct the upcoming project with the story crafted by Anurag Kashyap. Under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, this film promises a dynamic pairing of Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor, while adding an intriguing twist with Varun Dhawan rumoured to play the antagonist's role. Among the names of biggies in the guestlists, it is being said that Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Ashutosh Gowarikar and co-star Juhi Chawla, among others are being invited. As per a news report in India Today, the said reception will be held on January 13 at BKC Jio Centre, after their destination wedding in Udaipur on January 8. It has also been learnt that the Ambani family and a few celebrities from South film industry are also a part of the invitee’s list.

Speaking of the Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare wedding, the couple exchanged vows and registered their marriage at a private ceremony in Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Ira is the daughter of Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Reena Dutta and the actor, and the estranged couple also has a son Junaid Khan, who is gearing up for his acting debut. Ira is a social activist who champions for mental health whereas Nupur Shikhare is a fitness coach who also works with Bollywood celebrities. Apart from these two kids, Aamir Khan also has a son named Azad with former wife Kiran Rao via surrogacy. Speaking to PTI, Rajkumar Hirani recently revealed, “I’m doing an OTT show, which we actually start shooting this month. I’m a showrunner for that, I’m not directing it. It’s a show for Hotstar (Disney+ Hotstar) and Vikrant Massey is playing a role in it. It’s something I’m very happy about with the script and the way it has panned out. On this show, I’m really involved and it’s in my own space.”

Meanwhile, Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani among others has collected Rs. 190.52 crores at the box office in India.

According to a report in Peeping Moon, a source revealed, “Sidharth and Junglee Pictures have been talking about collaborating for the past few months and are mainly discussing two movies — one directed by Meghna Gulzar and the other by Jeethu Joseph, acclaimed for his blockbuster Malayalam movie franchise, Drishyam. Sid, however, hasn’t signed them yet, as it’s still in the conversation stage. Depending on how the talks go, he might decide to do one of them or ultimately agree to both.”

Like always, Meghna Gulzar’s project is based on a true story. Meanwhile, Jeethu Joseph’s project is about a “valiant, sharp, and quick-witted law enforcement officer who embarks on a journey to fight for truth and bring justice in a high-stakes case at the international level.” Both projects are eyeing the 2024 production stage.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra has Yodha as his next theatrical release. It is set for an April 2024 release. Apart from this and his web series, he has reportedly signed Dinesh Vijan’s Spider alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The action thriller will be directed by Dasvi fame Tushar Jalota. Interestingly, there have been a lot of speculations about Priyanka joining hands with Ekta Kapoor, especially after her stint at Bigg Boss. It seems that the rumours have finally turned true with the actress exploring the world of web series with this show. Dus June Ki Raat is expected to be a finite series featuring an ensemble cast and is produced by Jaasvand Entertainment’s Sachin Mohite. Sachin, who is known for producing shows like Ram Pyare Sirf Humare, Begusarai, Paurashpur, among others, will also be bankrolling the project. While not many details have been revealed about the project, fans are excited to see the fresh pairing of Tusshar and Priyanka.

Coming back to Panchak, Madhuri was asked how much is she thinking about the box office. She said, “Well, of course, everybody works for success, right? You want that finally. But what I feel is when you make a film, if you are happy with the way it has turned out and you know you have put your best foot forward and you have done your best, finally then it’s up to the audience to accept it or not accept it.”

She added, “Success and failure will always be a part of our lives. Of course, you would want every film to be successful, but I don’t know if it happens in anybody’s life. But I think failures are also learning points. When you face a failure, you have to think about it, learn from it and move on. Right now Panchak is releasing and all are hopes are that it will be a success. But definitely, it is up to the audience.”

The screening of the upcoming Hindi film Sumo Didi in association with Fresh Lime Films and MA + TH will be held on 7th January. Inspired by the story of India’s first Sumo wrestler Hetal Dave, it stars Shriyam Bhagnani in the lead along with Chaitnya Sharma (Slow Cheeta) and is directed by debutant Jayant Rohatgi.

Rest assured, Anupam, there is no sequel to Wake Up Sid. It is true that Ranbir and Konkona Sen Sharma are getting together again, and playing the characters they played in Mukerji’s movie. But it is for an ad, not a film.

To go back to Ranbir’s best work after Saawariya, Wake Up Sid is a triumph on many levels. It takes the protagonist’s predictable but yet kinetic voyage into self-realization to a level where the languorous plot exudes a beam of light that cuts right across the radiant narrative. Would this wonderfully uncrowded film have worked without Ranbir Kapoor? Ranbir’s Sid is a near-perfect portrait of the aimless young man searching for a direction in life. Recalling the moment when she learnt about her mother's death, Janhvi said, “When I got the call, I was in my room and I could hear wailing from Khushi's room. I think I barged into her room, howling and crying but what I do remember is she looked at me and the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just sat next to me and started comforting me and I've never seen her cry about it since.”

Khushi Kapoor shared, “I felt like I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel like I've always been the strong one.”

In the same episode, Janhvi also spoke about how Khushi is more similar to Sridevi, “She is a very quiet person and I think that is one thing she has in common with Mumma. But in front of the camera, she just explodes,” she said.

Sridevi died in 2018 in Dubai, where she was attending Boney Kapoor's nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. It was announced that the cause of her death was accidental drowning. This latest development comes on the heels of Rohit Shetty's unveiling of the much-awaited teaser for Indian Police Force, an Amazon Prime Video India original series. It will feature Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi. Scheduled for release on January 19, the series promises high-octane action and drama within the realm of police work.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor recently enjoyed immense success with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, which became the highest-grossing film of his career. It was released in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Amid all this, a film that bewilderingly hasn’t yet premiered on any OTT platform is Sheer Qorma. The short film stars Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta and Swara Bhasker, and it is also one of the last films of the late Surekha Sikri. Directed by Faraz Arif Ansari, this LGBT romantic film has made the rounds of several film festivals across the world and amassed massive acclaim.

When asked why Sheer Qorma is yet to be available to the public online, Faraz Arif Ansari exclusively told Bollywood Hungama, “What we have learned is that the OTT platforms are not keen on buying short films. They are okay to have an anthology, comprising 3-4 short films. But when it comes to buying a single short movie, they have reservations. We have approached all major players. Also, we are not comfortable releasing the film directly on YouTube.”

He continued, “Hence, we are waiting for the market to change or for a new platform that realizes the importance of short films and buys them.”

There were murmurs that due to its theme, it might hurt religious sentiments, which is why the platforms are wary of touching the film. On this, Faraz Arif Ansari said, “We’ll never know the real reason. Whenever we approach a platform, the one-line answer we get is that we are not keen on buying a short film. We’ll never know what the true intent is. Offline, we keep on hearing stuff that the streaming giants may be wary of buying Sheer Qorma as it touches upon LGBT, faith, sexuality, etc. However, these are just assumptions because officially, such reasons are never communicated.”

He signed off by stating, “I have decided that no more short films for me. Now, I am making a feature.” Just like Sheer Qorma, Faraz Arif Ansari’s feature film’s title also has a food connection. Titled Bun Tikki, it stars Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman and Abhay Deol and is produced by Manish Malhotra.

As per the source, "Salman Khan to play Brigadier Farukh Bulsara, who led Operation Cactus in 1988 in the Maldives. He will be a paramilitary officer in the upcoming Dharma project, to begin filming in February. The superstar is undergoing rigorous physical training to play the character of Brigadier Bulsara."

"The superstar is training for 3.5 hours daily to get into the skin of the character. Ofcourse with a minor change in his diet," the source added.

In an interview with Mid-day, Manoj Bajpayee revealed, “People don't know that side of me - that I am a writer too. I stopped writing after I left the theatre. Until then, I used to write street plays. I left it as acting takes so much time, and I put in so much passion into every role that I play.”

Picking up right where the first season left off, DG and Tambe find themselves still stranded, relentlessly searching for Mr. Kapoor’s murderer. Our highly-placed sources confirm that Kabir Khan has pitched a script close to his heart to Salman Khan. "Kabir feels that the character suits no one but Salman. There are people around who are trying to push other stars to play the part, but Kabir is firm on Salman being his first choice for this feature film," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Kabir has already met Salman a couple of times and more meetings are expected to take place this month. "Salman too is excited by the idea. The script is titled Babbar Sher and if Salman agrees to do the film, it will mark the 4th collaboration of Salman and Kabir after Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Tubelight," the source told us further.

For those unaware, Salman and Kabir have met once each in the month of November & December to discuss the basic idea. Kabir has promised Salman to come back with the complete script by January end. The final decision on the same is expected to be taken by both Salman and Kabir in the next 45 days but we do hope for a reunion as Salman and Kabir will definitely make for an unbeatable combo.

The upcoming debut series, though casting details remain undisclosed, is set to grace screens during the festive season. While the makers are tight-lipped about the ensemble, the confirmed promise of a family drama series has heightened anticipation.

Meanwhile, Sooraj Barjatya will next helm a project starring Maine Pyar Kiya actor Salman Khan. Many reports suggested that it was supposed to be announced on his 58th birthday last month. However, it wasn’t announced. Speaking to the news outlet India Today last year, Sooraj said, “I am starting with Salman mid-next year because when I make a film, I become selfish. Today, at this stage of my life as a director, I have become selfish. I write the film myself and when I write myself, then I take my own time. With Salman especially, since we are doing something together after a long time, it has to be something special, especially after all these years.
