The park has 70 acres with facilities for an entrepreneur; a 90 year land lease, uninterrupted power supply, round-the-clock water supply with rain water harvesting etc., Around 16 units have started operations which include Parisons Foods,  Rime Rich Foods etc.,  The park will promote export of the state’s ethnic food. The industry has registered a growth rate of 4 % ,with restrictions on foreign investment. Further, different rates of VAT in many states also hamper its growth, some state like Kerala have a VAT of 20%. Centre is considering a grant of Rs.10 crore for projects with backward integration in food sector and Rs.20 crore for meat processing facilities.{backbutton}]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[ Centre is ready to create duty free imports of raw sugar to advance licenses, now on tonne-to-tonne basis against grain basis.  This move is touted as a political move, however, co-operative mills in Maharashtra and North Karnataka, would welcome it as many mills have to shut shop because of shortage of cane. They can now buy raw sugar and process it along with cane juice and produce white sugar and can export the same.             <description><![CDATA[Council for Food Research and Development (CFRD) a joint-venture between Centre and State has set up a microbiology lab with an investment of Rs. 50 million. The modern lab which has come up on 35 acre will have facilities for analysing microbiological parameters for evaluating food quality and safety for human consumption. In second phase, CFRD will develop facilities for doing full range of chemical tests for evaluating nutritional composition for labelling and safety.
