Ice cream is everybody's favorite. Who doesn't love ice cream? I never thought I could make a smooth and creamy ice cream at home with only very few ingredients and without an ice cream maker. Yes, you read it right...No ice cream maker is needed to make this frozen treat. The best thing about this recipe is you can add your choice of ingredients to make it in a way that you like. Mangoes are one of my all time favorite fruit, so thought of giving it a try with yummy mangoes. It's super easy and it wont take you more than 15 minutes, if you have your ingredients ready. Once you try this recipe, I am sure you won't even think of store bought ice cream.

Vettu cake is a very popular snack served in small tea stalls(chaayakkada) in Kerala. It's a deep fried sweet cake (can also be called as Kerala style donut) which goes perfectly well with an evening cup of tea. It usually has very few ingredients and can be made very easily. The usual preparation of the cake is with all purpose flour, white sugar and egg. Here is my try on vettu cake with healthier ingredients.

A warm soup is a perfect start for a cold winter day. So here I am sharing the soup recipe that I tried recently and was a big hit in my home. This is a tweaked version of a Tibetan soup which is loaded with veggies and spices. A simple and nutritious dish which is a complete meal for any time of the day. Try it out for yourself and I bet you will be hooked to it.

Tea Rusk is a "multi-baked" biscuit. A crispy Tea Rusk
dipped in the hot tea always brings back my childhood memories. Tea rusk is
usually made with all purpose flour and white sugar. However, in this experimental healthy
version,I am using whole wheat flour and dark brown sugar. This is a simple
recipe, so, it's hard to go wrong even in the first try!!!

Laddu is a popular sweet in India. You'll come across different kinds of laddus in varying sizes and shapes from different parts of the country. I like all versions of it:) However, I prefer to make laddu which is more of a healthier version at home. This is my experiment on a healthier version of laddu which incorporates different flours and shredded coconut. I have used jaggery/brown sugar for sweetness and a relatively small amount of ghee/clarified butter for moist laddus.

Cardamom- A quintessential ingredient in any traditional Indian dessert. I love cardamom so much, that I try to incorporate the wonderful spice in most of my dishes including savory and sweet:) Here is my try on a cake that's flavored with one of the most exotic spice, cardamom. Curry leaves(kariveppila) is an aromatic leaf which is mainly used as a
seasoning ingredient in many south Indian dishes. Apart from adding flavor to the curries, it has lots of medicinal values which includes fighting cancer, anti-diabetic properties, lowering cholesterol, protecting against pathogenic attacks etc. This motivated me in preparing a curry with curry leaves as the main ingredient. This curry can be served with hot rice at lunch or dinner.
Fruit and Nut cake/plum cake always bring the fond memories of Christmas days. Fruit and Nut cake or Plum cake as we call in Kerala, is a rich cake with lots of dried fruits and nuts soaked in rum/brandy. I am a great fan of this fruit cake and have been baking this during Christmas time for the past few years. So, here is my version of authentic Kerala Style Plum/Fruit and Nut Cake.

Sweet bun is one of the bakery item which fascinates right from my childhood. I was always curious about its baking process. After a very long time - here I am with the recipe of my all time favorite sweet bun. I experimented with a lot of recipes and finally settled in this one. This recipe is one of the healthier version of the original sweet bun made with all purpose flour. However, for somebody who loves the real taste of authentic sweet bun must bake it with all purpose flour instead of whole wheat flour.

This is a healthy fiber-rich version of the chocolate cupcake. It has neither eggs nor butter. The flax seeds in this cake is a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids. I pledge that the taste of chocolate cake has not been compromised even with this healthier version:)

This is an Indian tweaked version of the original Italian Biscotti. It's a perfect evening coffee snack due to its crunchy texture. Since its preparation involves double baking, it can be stored in an air tight canister at room temperature.
