Gaja – A Worst Film accidentally released

Why do most of the debut filmmaker in Kollywood come up with an exceptional storyline and even fail to deliver a perfect film. A flimsy script, an annoying screenplay and clumsy contents - this happens to be the most common factors amongst the filmmakers on their debut film. The most puzzling fact is that how do producers easily approve of such smutty films. Looks like they had gone pie-eyed while heeding to this script. In the name of making films with strong messages, certain filmmakers come up with obscenity and vulgarity that doesn’t let even a 5-sensed creature to enjoy the film. Instead, this sort of filmmakers can better land up with X-rated films.

Well, sometimes it urges us to analyze on these sort of films too. Precisely, this is to remind ourselves that with Tamil Cinema getting through changing phase, there are still some films that deteriorate our standard.

Director A.R. Ganapathy brims with a good idea about showing all obscenity and finally getting himself from the box with a social message.

The film centers on a bad guy-womanizer Gaja (VNR) working in a finance company that sanctions loans… With the money that he earns, it’s all about smoking, consuming alcohols and has a great lust for every woman, especially the married ones. Even his married colleague isn’t spared by him and she is even killed to death and he cleverly drags her husband into the box of crime.

Indeed, that doesn’t stop this baddie’s evil acts. He goes to extent of even seducing his boss’ wife by narrating her with sweet stories. When the boss gets to know about this, he sets himself and his wife with fire. But again, the bad man has no plans to put an end, even when his friends advice him.

A series of changes takes place when he falls in love with Pooja (Akshaya) seeing her at a temple. But sooner he finds that she is married to her cousin Ganesh (Again played by VNR). It’s not a turning point as Gaja takes it as his luck. Of course, when you’ve Ganesh replacing the dead boss of Gaja, things are more favorable for this evil man.

His next step is informing Pooja that he would seducer her one day with her consent. A much distressed Pooja informs her husband Ganesh about this and for a greater surprise, he doesn’t believe her. Finally, how Gaja comes up with this big plan and does he succeed with it forms crux of the story.

The biggest drawback of this film is that how come both the hero and baddie Gaja look so identical. Is it an impact of Vijay’s Azhagiya Tamizh Magan? Its a billion dollar question. With both the characters looking the same, there are whole lots of confusions persisting between them. Director Ganapathy comes with a good theme, but the way he has presented with is something awkward. VNR has tried distinguishing each of his role with different body languages. But overall, his performance is below mediocre. Ditto to actress Akshaya enacting the role of a wife weaved between the hopes lost from her husband and unable to escape from the clutches of baddie.

What makes us wonder is that Gaja keeps committing his evil acts again and again. But he doesn’t get caught by Police. Is everything happening around in the undiscovered lands of deep African Forests that doesn’t come under the governance of Government Law?

A kind request to filmmakers making their debut directorial. Please make good stories. At least make your producers happy and profitable who churn out money on you. But don’t ever try making such nasty underrated films.

A CAMPUS sex video scandal has come back to haunt the country again after the last one at a south Delhi school in 2004 shocked the country and inspired parts of the recent Anurag Kashyap movie Dev D.
This time, a 23-year-old girl doing her MBA from a prestigious B-school in Noida did a full striptease on camera for her boyfriend — also from the institute — who leaked the video recently to fellow students over mass-circulated e-mail.
MiD DAY spoke to some students and also the institute, who first tried to hush up the matter. No official complaint has been lodged so far.

A senior spokesperson for the institution said, "We will investigate the case. If there is substance to it, we'll take the strictest action against the person who put the video out."
The video shows the girl stripping to music for apparently a mobile camera — which zooms in and out once or twice — inside what seems like a regular youngster's bedroom with a laptop and a music system.
Students of the institute said the girl had complained to a teacher. "Nobody has complained to me," the teacher, said before hurriedly keeping the phone.

Psychiatrist Sanjay Chugh said this was a classic case of a girl being immature and falling prey to gross misuse of modern technology.
"When some girls fall in love, they believe the relationship is for ever. If the boy has bad intentions, he can even get her to pose for such videos. It's just so tragically foolish… what else can one say," he said.
MiD DAY is in possession of the video clip and all details of the incident and the institute. But, it has refrained from naming the institute or reproducing the clip, to protect the identity of the victim.

This time, a 23-year-old girl doing MBA from a prestigious B-school in Noida did a full striptease on camera for her boyfriend also from the institute who leaked the video recently to fellow students over mass-circulated e-mail.

A student, requesting anonymity, told MiD DAY the two were supposed to be married, but the girl had backed out.

"The boy, whom the girl had trusted even her e-mail password with, logged in to her mail and sent it out to almost her entire contact list," said the student, among those who had received the clip.

Despite repeated calls, MiD DAY could not get the girl's version as her mobile was switched off.

"We will investigate the case. If there is substance to it, we'll take the strictest action against the person who put the video out," said a senior spokesperson for the institution.

“It is a matter of deep concern that school and college students are indulging in such deplorable activities and defaming their classmates by putting their obscene clips on websites or circulating it among other students,” said Raksha Shukla, a representative of the All India Women Conference. “The police should not wait for an official complaint from the victim. They should act at own level and punish the erring students so that others do not dare to do such acts.”

In 2004, a student of a south Delhi school had found herself at the centre of a similar scandal.

Don't accept a drink even if your best friend gives it - you never know who's spiked it. Anything with the remotest potential threat should be avoided.

Two days after MiD DAY reported the Noida MMS sex clip scandal, the clip is being circulated online from email to email and it's been the most searched topic on the internet.

Just hours after the news hit the market there was a sharp rise reported on the search engine Google where people looked for the Noida MMS with the keywords like 'Noida MMS', 'Noida MMS download', 'Tanya MMS', Noida sex video' and others.

This video is about a 23-year-old girl doing striptease for her boyfriend. Later on it also learnt that boy had access to her email account and he circulated the video when the gal refused to marry him.

On Thursday 41% queries came from New Delhi while 6% from Kandivli, Maharashtra and 9% from Noida. The peak time was around two in the afternoon.

The copies of the MMS is available at all major file sharing website for download. Copies of video were traced on the sites like RapidShare.Com and MegaUpload.Com. However, it is difficult to say that how one can see the video on these platforms, since many people are exploring the media by uploading and deleting the files again and again.

If one is looking for download they have to to add "megaupload" or "rapidshare" keyword with his search in the engine and he will be bale to find tons of copies.

A campus sex video scandal came back to light after the last one at a south Delhi school in 2004 shocked the country.

Krishna, a student from Delhi said, "When I came to know about the news from one of my friends, I got excited. But as we searched goggle for the MMS scandal we were not able to find a free copy of this. We even tried different search engines but were unable to get one."

Its none of anybody's business what she did in the privacy of her home, with someone she trusted - though in this case the trust was misplaced. The only people who have the right to judge her, if at all, are herself and her parents. No one else has any business passing comments on her behaviour.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.

In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.

When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

"We did not have any other option but to chase them out of the pub as they appear to have come from good families. When they did not budge they had to beat them out of the pub" he added. The Police squad headed by the Bunder police sub inspector Umesh Shet visited the place and has recorded the events. The inhuman attack on young girls allegedly by Srirama Sene and Bajaranga Dal activists, though not seriously taken by the local authorities yet, has now gained national attention.

Usually only major issues like communal disturbances and international events were seen on the national television channels. But Saturday's attack is now being highlighted on national television.

Times Now ,one of the leading News Channels says in its report that at least two women have been hospitalized and are undergoing treatment. Ten suspected activists of Sri Ram Sene have been taken into custody on charges of assaulting customers of a pub in the busy Balmatta Road in the heart of the city. IGP (Western Range) A M Prasad said the attackers alleged that the pub owner was allowing the boys and girls to dance in an "obscene manner". No damage has been caused to the pub in the incident, he added.

On the other hand, The Sri Rama Sene and the Bajarang Dal have also separately claimed responsibility for the attack. Prasad Attavar, State Deputy Convener of the Sri Ram Sena said that it was a spontaneous reaction against women, who flouted traditional Indian norms of decency.

According to Times Now News Channel, on Saturday evening at around 4 pm, two people approached the front desk of the pub and requested permission to enter the premises. They said that they wanted to see what was going on inside.

Soon, nearly 40 people barged into the pub and targeted a group of five women, who had placed a lunch order. Subsequently, another group attacked three other women in the pub.

Apart from media, women's rights advocacy groups have demanded immediate action against the attackers.

Reacting angrily to this horrifying incident, Women's Rights activist Madhu Kishwar said that the attackers have good political links and are a part of extortionist gang. She went on to add, "The attack is an attempt to spread terror amongst restaurant owners in the city. They cannot just keep expressing their anger over Americanized lifestyle in this manner."

Ranjana Kumar, another Women's Rights activist condemned the attack and strongly said that the men involved in this attack should be charged for assaulting women. She said, "This is an outrageous and a horrible incident. No one has the right to infringe on other's freedom. Such kind of acts is absolutely unacceptable. Those responsible should be immediately arrested and strict action should be taken against them."

"Because these kinds of attackers are let off scot free, such attacks continue all across the country. I don't think these people had any business to get involved in others lives," added the activist.

A Mangalore Girl in Amnesia Pub, "We were Molested in the name of God".

“The entire scene has been playing out in my mind over and over again,” said a woman who was in ‘Amnesia,’ the pub that was attacked by a mob of Sri Ram Sene members on Saturday. She was sitting at the reception counter when the mob entered the compound and was witness to the incident from beginning to end.

She said that before barging into the pub, the mob went into a huddle and prayed silently. They then began raising slogans ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai,’ ‘Jai Sri Ram,’ ‘Bajrang Dal ki Jai’ and ‘Sri Ram Sene ki Jai.’

“We have been molested and humiliated in the name of God and country by people who obviously have no regard for either of the two,” she told The Hindu on Monday.

Around 4 p.m. on January 24, a group of over 40 people, wearing saffron headbands and scarves, came in through the main gate and approached the bouncer of the pub. “They asked to be let in so that they could get everybody out of the joint,” she said. Even as the bouncers negotiated with them at the entrance, the pub’s staff quickly closed the doors, and locked the woman and the bouncers outside.

Hearing the noise, a curious kitchen staffer opened the rear door to see what was happening. The mob seized this opportunity and barged in through the kitchen. The victim too followed the mob indoors through the back door. “Once inside, they went straight for the women guests. They rounded them up at the centre of the dance floor and then started beating them mercilessly,” she said. After the initial beating, some of the assailants began to single out some of them and molested them.

“One of them stripped a girl and groped her. She was also badly beaten up. We are still trying to trace her,” she said. According to her, several girls were targeted similarly. “They were laughing when they were doing all this. It was just fun for them,” she said. The attackers then targeted the men who dared come to the rescue of the girls. The narrator herself was slapped a few times.

What tormented her was the reaction of certain sections of the media. “They arrived on the scene even before the attackers did,” she said, and added, “there was no nude dancing or prostitution going on there as reported.”

She and a few other victims are now trying to form a support group of those who were attacked in the incident. “Some of the women are in shock because of the humiliation they had to face on television,” she said. “We are trying to get professional counsellors for the victims and for their families.”

Asserting her right to frequent the pub, she said, “We will also soon launch a protest on the streets to voice our opposition. We want to tell the world that we will not tolerate the growth of a Taliban-style group in this city.”

Biography

Ksenia, who is a Russian model, won the 2007 Miss Russia pageant on December 14, 2007 in Moscow, where she represented Tyumen. Ksenia surpassed 50 other contestants from all over Russia. She was unable to represent Russia at Miss Universe 2008 due to her college work, so her 2nd runner-up, Vera Krasova, replaced her in the pageant. Then came the question answering session and the judges asked one question to each of the five finalists of Miss World 2008. However, the questions were not same. On the basis of their answers, judges decided the winner of the competition. The winner of the second runner up title was first announced, followed by first runner up and the winner of the competition. The second runner up title went to Miss Trinidad & Tobago Gabrielle Walcott and the first runner up went to Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan.
