Well, no one even knew what it is. People did talk of 14-15k and it looked like it will be a loot if it happened and then again when it did come to 14k levels, they swore that 10k level is dead forever and KABOOM!@#$ when it went sub 9k, people were waiting for 6k and 4k to be seen again!!!

So, what'd you say to 25k now? Maybe not imminent, but yes maybe in 3-5 years? I think less than a year i.e before June'10. And why? I'd say why not! India Banks are safe and booming, autos have started growing again, infra spend is being doubled as a %age of GDP, exporters are being thrown incentives, STPI tax exemption is being continued for another 5 years. Precious metals are rising, crude is already up from $30 to $72.

Q: So, who's left behind?

A: Stock markets.

If companies are here to stay and grow, their stocks are too! Investors are waiting on the sidelines with their acumulated wealth. And once money starts multiplying or dividing, its a self-spiral both ways.

But will it stay there at 25k? Well, ever heard of Newton and his apple?
