How to install action files in Adobe Photoshop

Actions are used in Photoshop to speed up processes where you have to complete a process multiple times like resizing a batch of images for example. They can also be used to achieve specific effects such as a photographic style or filter. You can create your own actions by recording the process once and then playing the action back when you need to use the process again but you will also find many pre-built actions available to download online, often for free, enabling you to skip a lot of trial and error if you are trying to create a specific look or if you are in a hurry and working to a deadline!

If you want to download a pre-built Photoshop Action and use it on one of your documents you will need to install the action by placing the .atn file within the Photoshop Application on your computer. Follow the simple steps below to install a Photoshop action file (.atn).

Step 1.

Find an action with the desired effect and download it to your computer. To set up the action in Photoshop you will need to pre-load the action in order for it to appear in your actions list in Photoshop.

Many actions come in zip files, so extract the contents and you should find an action file, which is a .atn.

Step 2.

To install the action file, navigate to your Photoshop folder on your hard-drive. (This can normally be found within your application folder. Within the Photoshop folder choose Presets and then Photoshop Actions.

Add the .atn file to this folder.

Step 4.

Within Photoshop open the actions panel: Windows > Actions (Option + F9 / Alt F9) and you should see your Action file appear in the list.

With the document open that you wish to use the action on, select the action from the panel menu and press play.

Trouble Shooting

This action will always appear here in the Actions panel unless you navigate through to the Photoshop folder and delete the corresponding .atn file.

If this process has not worked for any reason, first try restarting photoshop. Secondly, some actions need the photoshop document to be in a certain state before you play the action (for the document to be flattened or for layers to be named in a certain way for example) so check back to where you downloaded the action from for any particular instructions.

How to play multiplayer online games using Tunngle

Type in what game do you want to play. (Type ‘Age’ for Age of empires and ‘Need for Speed’ for any version of NFS, as it will results more results to chose from and avoiding ending up with no results due to searching keywords)
Double click to join one of the rooms.

That’s it.

Any games you host or anyone else will appear on the LAN option of all the players in that room.

What is a Trojan Horse ?

In computers, a Trojan horse is a program in which malicious or harmful code is contained inside apparently harmless programming or data in such a way that it can get control and do its chosen form of damage, such as ruining the file allocation table on your hard disk.

Trojan horse attacks pose one of the most serious threats to computer security. If you were referred here, you may have not only been attacked but may also be attacking others unknowingly. This page will teach you how to avoid falling prey to them, and how to repair the damage if you already did. According to legend, the Greeks won the Trojan war by hiding in a huge, hollow wooden horse to sneak into the fortified city of Troy. In today's computer world, a Trojan horse is defined as a "malicious, security-breaking program that is disguised as something benign". For example, you download what appears to be a movie or music file, but when you click on it, you unleash a dangerous program that erases your disk, sends your credit card numbers and passwords to a stranger, or lets that stranger hijack your computer to commit illegal denial of service attacks like those that have virtually crippled the DALnet IRC network for months on end.

The following general information applies to all operating systems, but by far most of the damage is done to/with Windows users due to its vast popularity and many weaknesses.

(Note: Many people use terms like Trojan horse, virus, worm, hacking and cracking all interchangeably, but they really don't mean the same thing. If you're curious, here's a quick primer defining and distinguishing them. Let's just say that once you are "infected", trojans are just as dangerous as viruses and can spread to hurt others just as easily!)

Users still running Galileo are advised to upgrade to SuperX “Cassini”. For those who would like to upgrade, do a backup of your data and perform a clean install of the newer version.

Keyboard LED Disco cool notepad trick !

Keyboards usually have small LED's which indicates whether different types of locks(num lock, scroll lock, caps lock) are activated or not. Here is a trick to use the lights of your keyboard in a more creative manner inWindows.

This trick uses a simple Visual basic script which when activated makes your scroll lock, caps lock and num locks LED's flash in a cool rhythmic way which gives the perception of a live disco on your keyboard.
To make your own live disco, follow the steps given below:-

1. Open Notepad.

2. Copy paste the exact code given below:-

A Short History of Animation

Animation is a graphic representation of drawings to show movement within those drawings. A series of drawings are linked together and usually photographed by a camera. The drawings have been slightly changed between individualized frames so when they are played back in rapid succession (24 frames per second) there appears to be seamless movement within the drawings.
Pioneers of animation include Winsor McCay of the United States and Emile Cohl and Georges Melies of France. Some consider McCay's Sinking of the Lusitania from 1918 as the first animated feature film.
     Early animations, which started appearing before 1910, consisted of simple drawings photographed one at a time. It was extremely labor intensive as there were literally hundreds of drawings per minute of film. The development of celluloid around 1913 quickly made animation easier to manage. Instead of numerous drawings, the animator now could make a complex background and/or foreground and sandwich moving characters in between several other pieces of celluloid, which is transparent except for where drawings are painted on it. This made it unnecessary to repeatedly draw the background as it remained static and only the characters moved. It also created an illusion of depth, especially if foreground elements were placed in the frames.
     Walt Disney took animation to a new level. He was the first animator to add sound to his movie cartoons with the premiere of Steamboat Willie in 1928. In 1937, he produced the first full length animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
     With the introduction of computers, animation took on a whole new meaning. Many feature films of today had animation incorporated into them for special effects. A film like Star Warsby George Lucas would rely heavily on computer animation for many of its special effects.  Toy Story, produced by Walt Disney Productions and Pixar Animation Studios, became the first full length feature film animated entirely on computers when it was released in 1995.
     With the advent of personal computers, it has now become possible for the average person to create animations.

Hello readers, i am back again with another trick to download torrent files without using a torrent client. This trick is very helpful to download torrent files if they are blocked in your school/college or office. I am studying at Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar where downloading torrent is blocked. So, i use this simple trick to download torrent files. This trick will help you download torrent files at ease.

Just follow the below steps:

1. First go to http://www.torrent2exe.com/ .

2. Then Copy the URL of the torrent file or browse to the location of the torrent file in your hard disk to automatically upload it to their site as shown in the picture below:

3. Click on the "Start Downloading" button. They will convert it into a self extracting EXE file.

4. Now Download that EXE file. Here I am using IDM to download the file. If you don't have idm installed, the default browser will do the work (no need to worry).

5. After the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file. A window will pop-up.

6. Now browse for the location where you want to save the files and hit "OK". It will start downloading the torrent files. That's it.

Apple iPhone 5 Announced, Here’s Everything from A to Z

Months of speculation, rumors, leaks and reports have finally led to the main event: Apple actually, officially announcing the new iPhone. It’s here and it’s not all that different from what the leaks and reports had made it out to be.

As expected, the iPhone 5 comes with an evolutionary design update, along with specifications bump that puts it at the level of fellow high-end Android smartphones like the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III. Check out the full details after the jump.

Design

The first and foremost feature people will notice is the design. The general shape is quite similar to the iPhone 4 / 4S with its metal band, and flat front / back. The biggest noticeable differences are its increased display size and aluminum + glass back.

iPhone 5 comes with a widescreen 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 with a pixel density 326PPI. This makes the new iPhone the same width as the iPhone 4S, only taller / longer depending on which orientation you’re looking at it. Once apps get updated to support the new display, they will show more content. All apps will benefit from this feature, as games will be more immersive, Reeder / Facebook / Twitter will let users see more items, movies and TV shows will play in widescreen without letterboxing etc. etc.

Keeping in line with the rumors, the iPhone 5’s headphone jack has been relocated and is now at the bottom of the device.

Display

The display has 44% more color saturation than the previous generation iPhone, and features integrated touch technology, which means that the iPhone 5’s display and the touch sensors have been united once and for all. This makes the iPhone 5’s display the most accurate and the most advanced display we’ve ever seen to date.

Hardware

Following their old tradition of ‘thinner and lighter’, the iPhone 5 weighs in at just 112 grams, is 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S and is the thinnest smartphone to date with a depth of just 7.6mm.

Instead of glass and glass only on the back like with the iPhone 4 / 4S, the iPhone 5’s back plate is two-toned: there is glass at the very top and bottom, but other than that it is all metal. This is a welcome design feature, as the weak non-Gorilla-Glass of the 4 and 4S was a rather serious problem.

The same old Home button sits at the center, underneath the screen, the volume buttons on the left hand-side, along with the mute/un-mute switch.

The iPhone 5 has three microphones, one at the back, one at the front, and one at the bottom, which provides better sound quality, and improved noise cancellation.

Internals

Let’s talk specifications now: the iPhone 5 is powered by a an A6 processor which is two times faster than the A5, so you can rest assured that everything loads quicker, apps load faster and games look stunning. Android enthusiasts can finally stop claiming that their phones are technically superior as the iPhone is now right up there with them! Last year, it was proved with benchmarks that the iPhone 4S’ 800MHz A5 dual-core chip was faster than the 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos chip on the Galaxy S II and Snapdragon processors on other HTC phones. The same may just happen again this year. We’ll have to wait and see for the first benchmarks to come in.

The device’s speaker has shrunk down 20%, and the earpiece now supports noise cancellation for crisp and clear voice calls. Wideband audio has also been introduced, which means that you can hear frequencies which you couldn’t on previous generation iPhones, in short, the lower and higher frequency sound bits are more audible during a voice call.

Wireless

Another big new feature is the support for 4G LTE. Earlier this year, the iPhone 4S received an update that changed “3G” to “4G” in its status bar when using AT&T’s HSPA+ network, but that was not at all close to the speeds offered by 4G LTE which Windows Phones and Android smartphones have been supporting since late 2010. Having 4G LTE means users will see marked improvements in streaming heavier content like HD videos and high quality audio streams.

HSPA+ in the iPhone 4S supported speeds up to 42Mbps, LTE is the next big thing on the iPhone 5. 4G LTE on the iPhone 5 supports speeds up to 100Mbps. Like we said before, your content is now at your finger tips, pages load faster, videos play way too quicker, and images literally pop to your face when you’re going through content on the web.

Wi-Fi now supports two bands, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, what does that mean for the average Joe? Well, if you have a supporting Wi-Fi router at home, then you can rest easy that dropped signals won’t be an issue at your end. Big win here.

Camera

Optics receive an improvement, too. Despite having a year to improve their cameras, other smartphone manufacturers (save for Nokia) have still not come up with optics that totally beat the iPhone 4S’. This hasn’t stopped Apple from improving things, though, as the camera on the iPhone 5 gets dynamic low light mode, precision lens alignment, sapphire crystal, so your images come out in far greater quality while maintaining the same image resolution – 8 megapixels. The front-facing camera’s resolution has been increased to 720p HD from VGA on previous phones.

Here comes the fun part in the camera, the iPhone 5 comes with Panorama mode, so you can capture wide landscapes with ease, and saves the image at a whooping 28-megapixels resolution.

The front facing camera has received a bump as well, and now sits at a respectable 720p resolution, which takes FaceTime to a whole new level, which is: HD! What’s better than an HD FaceTime call? Exactly.

Battery

The battery has been improved as well, and gives up to 8 hours of battery life on LTE, which quite honestly steamrolls the competition out of the water. Apple has managed to match, and improve upon the iPhone 4S’ battery to take things up a notch while on the go.

Dock Connector

The iPhone 5 also features the new smaller dock connector, which is USB 3 compatible, making it over 10 times faster than it’s USB 2 30-pin connector counterpart. The new dock connector has been named Lightning, which quite frankly, fits in very well with the speeds it has to offer.

The major features of the new Lightning dock connector are: is is 80% smaller than the previous 30-pin connector, it has an adaptive interface, more durable, and can be plugged in to the device in any orientation.

Accessories

Despite having a small and improved dock connector, older accessories seemingly look out of date, but thankfuly, Apple themselves are offering a dock connector converter for the iPhone – named the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter – which will allow you to use your older accessories with the newer hardware.

All older accessories are compatible with the iPhone 5, excluding cases and sleeves.

Nano-SIM

The iPhone 5 uses a new type of SIM card, which on many occasions have been referred to as Nano-SIM. Those iPhone users who are great with their scissor ninja skills and can cut down a regular SIM to a Micro-SIM will be disappointed to know that the Nano-SIM is completely different from the Micro-SIM and cannot bemade at home. Hence, you have to get a new SIM card from your network carrier, which is compatible with the iPhone 5.

Price

Pricing is the usual we’ve come to expect over the last three years. The 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models cost $199, $299, and $399 respectively with a two-year contract from AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. The iPhone 5 will be available in two colors – black and white.

Availability

The new iPhone 5 will go on pre-order on September 14th and will ship on September 21st. From September 14th it is available for pre-order in the following countries: United States, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore. And after 28th September, it will be available in 100 more countries around the globe.

Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 Windows 8 Phone arrives India

Lumia 920 is available in 32GB version only and boasts of 1GB RAM and 2,000mAh battery. Its touchscreen not just works with fingers, but with fabric as well. Nokia Lumia 920 has also teamed up with Rovio to provide exclusive Angry Birds content to users. Featuring wireless charging functionality and NFC, the new Nokia Lumia 920 features Nokia City Lens.

Offline maps and turn-by-turn navigation are added features of Nokia Maps that come pre-loaded in Lumia 920. Another addition in Maps is Nokia Transport, which will tell the distance involved in the users' daily commute. CinemaGraph is new camera feature of Lumia 920 that adds animated features in a still image; this feature will now be available in the previous Lumia devices as well.

Its younger sibling, Lumia 820, comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen ?and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The other features include an 8MP camera, 1,650mAh battery, wireless charging and all exclusive apps that Lumia 920 has. Available only in 8GB iteration with support for up to 32GB microSD card, the phone comes with changeable back covers or shells, as Nokia puts it.

Nokia also said that the new phones will be available by the year end in select markets. However, the company did not reveal the pricing of both the devices.

Nokia Location will become part of the Windows Phone platform, thus integrating itself in Microsoft's mobile OS strategy further, as part of its strategy to become the company's biggest partner in the mobile arena.

The new Lumia phones by Nokia are considered to be its last shot at success by analysts, who believe that if the new devices fail, the company will find it tough to get back in the smartphone market. The Finnish manufacturer has lost ground to Apple iPhone and SamsungGalaxy phones.

A few weeks ago, Nokia sounded a challenge to Samsung, hinting that the new Lumia series would emerge as a serious competitor. However, last week at the IFA 2012 in Berlin, Samsung stole its thunder as it showcased the first ever Windows Phone 8- powered smartphone, Ativ S. “Zerg Rush” is Google’s latest Easter Egg, and it’s first StarCraft-inspired one. Just enter Zerg Rush in google search box and hit enter. Hordes of red and yellow Google O’s will descend on your search results. You have to click them to knock down their HP before they defeat your search results.

After every search result gets wiped out, and they will get wiped out, you’ll be assigned a score which you can then share on Google+. Google tracks the user’s actions per minute (APM) and zerg kill count in a score box on the far right of the screen. Once all of the search results have been eaten by zergs, the enemies gather at the top of the (almost) blank page to form two Gs. My score the first time around was 16 zerglings taken down with 56 APM (attacks per minute).

In the latest massive breach of a major company’s database security, the Yahoo email servers have been compromised, and over 400,000 users’ account information has been stolen. Fortunately foreveryone involved, the hackers behind the operation don’t appear to have any malicious intent, but rather did it as a way of pointing out Yahoo’s security vulnerabilities. The group behind the attacks, who call themselves D33D Company, briefly posted the stolen information online, with a footnoteexplaining their motives.

“We hope that the parties responsible for managing the security of this subdomain will take this as a wake-up call, and not as a threat. There have been many security holes exploited in Web servers belonging to Yahoo Inc. that have caused far greater damage than our disclosure. Please do not take them lightly. The subdomain and vulnerable parameters have not been posted to avoid further damage.”

Also included in the stolen data was information on thousands of accounts from other email providers, likely accounts that had been linked to existing Yahoo accounts. According to the NY Times, 106,000 Gmail accounts, 55,000 Hotmail accounts and 25,000 AOL accounts were included in the leaked data.

Yahoo has released a statement informing users that they should change their passwords. A spokesperson for the company also warned, “Since Yahoo is still investigating this breach there’s a possibility that it hasn’t been contained yet. You should still go ahead and change [your password] straight away, but you may have to change it for a second time if it turns out attackers are still entrenched in Yahoo’s systems.”

If you’ve still got a Yahoo account that you care about for some reason, it would be wise to change your password as soon as possible. Alternatively, you could take this opportunity to close your Yahoo account and never look back. Gmail’s superior email service awaits.

Trick to modify android .apk application files

We all may be knowing Google uses .apk extension for its android applications. APK extension may seem complicated, but its not the fact. You can simply extract and edit apk files.

Extracting files from application having apk extension:

First copy the application into your pc or laptop.
Then just go to rename and change the extension from .apk to .zip
Example: Facebook.apk changes to Facebook.zip
Now just extract it using winrar or winzip.

So now you will have all the files including images of that app.

Now comes the tricky part. There is a file named classes.dex, which contains important data and is encrypted. So it can’t be opened normally. You will need a specific tool for it.

We are going to use the dex2jar opener given below to open that file up.

Download Dex2Jar from http://code.google.com/p/dex2jar/
Download Java Decompiler from http://java.decompiler.free.fr/

Now after you have downloaded both above mentioned softwares you just need to copy the classes.dex file to the Dex2Jar extracted folder and run a small command from the commandline : “dex2jar.bat classes.dex”

Now this will create a file with a strange name something like “classes.dex.dex2jar.jar” so now you can open this using the WinRAR if you do not have it you can install it and start modifying your files.
