Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s liable case has finally come to an end and the court has reached the conclusion that Heard did indeed write the 2018 op-ed to defame Depp. The court has asked Heard to pay compensatory damages of $10 million and punitive damages of $5 million to Depp. While the jury also announced that Heard was defamed by one of Depp’s lawyers, who accused her of creating a detailed hoax, the jury awarded her $2 million. As the verdict was passed, both Depp and Amber released their statements on social media.

Depp in his statement wrote, “Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed. All in the blink of an eye.” He further wrote that six years later, the jury gave him his life back.”

Heard in her statement wrote that she was ‘disappointed’ with the decision. She said, "The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband. I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

WhatsApp announced on Wednesday that in April, it banned over 16.6 lakh problematic accounts in India, following the new IT Rules 2021. In March, the platform banned almost 18 lakh similar accounts throughout the country. In April, the corporation received 844 grievance complaints from around the country, with the accounts "actioned."

According to Mint, there were 123 of them. WhatsApp received 597 complaints in March, and the accounts that were actioned were 74 years old. "This user-safety report highlights user complaints and the steps taken by WhatsApp in response, as well as WhatsApp's own preventative measures to combat abusive behavior on our platform."

“In the month of April, WhatsApp banned almost 1.6 million (1,666,000) accounts, according to the current Monthly Report," a WhatsApp spokeswoman stated in a statement.

The data published by WhatsApp emphasizes the number of Indian accounts banned between April 1 and 30 using the abuse detection technique, which also includes action taken in response to negative input received from users via its "Report" function, as per WhatsApp.

"We've constantly invested in Artificial Intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies, data scientists and experts, and processes over the years to support our customer's safety on our platform," the business noted. Big digital and social media platforms with even more than 5 million users are required to file monthly compliance reports underneath the new IT Rules 2021.

The only break in its otherwise innocuous profile is a dedicated knob on the right earcup that allows for quick adjustments to volume when necessary and its detachable boom mic. The headset also features a 3.5mm audio jack and can be paired via 2.4Ghz wireless thanks to the included dongle, but the lack of Bluetooth is a bit disappointing. The V2 Pro is THX 7.1 surround capable, too, and comes with an included license for Razer’s THX Spatial Audio software.

In terms of battery life, the V2 Pro is capable of lasting up to 24 hours on a single charge, making it one of the longer-lasting headphones on the market. Sadly, however, it still relies on Micro USB for charging.

The Barracuda X is a fairly unremarkable headset at first glance, given its standard design, but despite its bulkier profile, it is actually lighter than the Razer BlackShark series of headsets. Our initial impressions by Verge staffer Cameron Faulkner noted how comfortable the Barracuda X was, even after several hours of wear, and mentioned that the design sets a strong precedent for potential future iterations.

While the lack of Bluetooth makes the Barracuda X a poor choice for mobile gaming, the 2.4Ghz wireless dongle uses a USB-C connection, meaning that you won’t have to rely on a 3.5mm audio cable to use the headset with your Nintendo Switch. The USB-C dongle can enable wireless connectivity with PS4 and PS5 thanks to the included adapter, too, but it can’t be used with Microsoft consoles unless you use a wired connection.

Like the rest of the Nari lineup, the Ultimate comprises an aluminum frame with leatherette cushions on the headband and earcups. The adjustable boom mic can be quickly muted by retracting it into the earcup, and each earcup sports an RGB Razer logo that can be customized using the Razer Synapse software or the Razer Chroma app. The Ultimate also features a bass-heavy sound that's accentuated not only by THX Spatial Audio but Razer’s “Hypersense” feature, which provides haptic feedback through the earcups for thunderous sounds.

The only real drawback to this particular model is the lack of wireless connectivity with Xbox consoles. You can use the headset with an Xbox One or Series X / S, but only via a 3.5mm wired connection.

While the G535 isn’t available in the same fun colors as the G435, Logitech does currently offer different headbands for the G535 that allow you to personalize the headset with a variety of fun accents.

Aesthetically, the G535 looks similar to the G435, but has a number of key differences. Its primary method of connection is through the 2.4Ghz wireless dongle, but because it lacks Bluetooth connectivity, the G535 is more difficult to use with mobile devices. Just like the G435, the headset uses a USB-C connection for charging, which unfortunately can’t be used for wired listening — an omission made worse when you consider that the G535 doesn’t offer a 3.5mm audio jack.

The earcups have a similar shape and feel to those on the G435, opting for a slightly angular design and breathable fabric for the cushions instead of leatherette. The left earcup houses a power button and built-in volume controls, too, but there’s no way to adjust the in-game chat or mic balance without using the Logitech G software. Thankfully, the flip-to-mute boom mic makes the G535 more catered to gamers, and while it isn’t particularly noticeable when flipped up, it can’t be removed when you’re not using it.

It also lacks Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack, and its USB-C port can only be used for charging. And although the headset is compatible with PlayStation and the Nintendo Switch consoles (when docked), it works best with PC, where you can make full use of DTS:X virtual surround sound and fine-tune your listening options using Logitech’s G software.

The EPOS H3 is a newer release from this lesser-known manufacturer, and you can currently find the lightweight headset on Amazon and GameStop in select colors for $78.03 instead of $99.99, which matches the headset’s best price to date.

The headset shares a similar form factor to its more expensive siblings, with wide-set, closed-back earcups that offer some decent noise isolation but fall short of what you’d expect when it comes to active noise cancellation. This design choice also lends the H3 an excellent sound stage that's equally impressive for gaming or just jamming out. Overall, the sound quality easily rivals headsets that normally cost twice as much.

Elsewhere, you’ll find a flexible boom mic that is hardwired to the headset and can be flipped up to quickly mute it. The right earcup also has a knob for fine-tuning volume, but the H3 lacks a built-in audio mixer as well as the ability to adjust the mic pickup levels. It relies on a 3.5mm audio connection as well, which may prevent it from working with some mobile devices, but it’s otherwise compatible with all current consoles and PC.

Indeed a bit larger than your average gaming headset, the EPOS H3 remains deceptively light. And while it may not appeal to everyone from an aesthetic standpoint, the thick leatherette cushions that cover its contact points make the EPOS H3 an excellent choice for extended wear. Read our review.

The headset also features a detachable, noise-canceling mic, as well as inline remote for adjusting the volume of both the mic and audio playback.

It may not be as capable as its wireless sibling, but the HyperX Cloud II remains an excellent option that’s compatible with all contemporary consoles and mobile devices as long as you have a USB-C adapter.

Amazon and Best Buy have discounted the Razer Blackshark V2 X from its usual price of $59.99 to just $39.99, making the least expensive model of the Blackshark lineup just a little more budget-friendly. The headset looks virtually identical to the standard and Ultimate versions, with aviation-style earcups and a flexible boom-mic, and the left earcup features the same quick-mute button and volume control knob. However, the V2 X makes some compromises to achieve its more approachable price point.

The earcups are still roomy and comfortable, but they use imitation leather instead of the more breathable fabric used on the more expensive models. The boom mic also looks and sounds similar to the standard Blackshark, but isn’t detachable. The 3.5mm audio cable is also built into the headset and can’t be detached. Finally, although it features virtual 7.1 surround sound, the V2 X isn’t compatible with THX spatial audio, which limits your options when it comes to fine-tuning your audio.

Overall, however, these changes are largely cosmetic. There are certainly headsets that sound better or have a greater list of features, sure, but it's difficult to find a headset that bests the Blackshark V2 X at this price point.

Like all the models in the Arctis line of headsets, the Arctis 3 uses a less conventional design, opting for a ski-goggle headband instead of a padded leatherette. You can secure the headband with velcro and adjust it to provide a better fit, but you can also replace it with a variety of other Steelseries headbands if you want different accents. The slimness of the headband also makes it uniquely suited for use with VR headsets.

The earcups, which rotate to lay flat are covered with a breathable textile cushion, can also be removed and replaced with either imitation leather or velour cushions (both sold separately). Additionally, the left earcup is equipped with sliders to fine-tune volume and mic pickup, and the boom mic can be muted by retracting it into the earcup housing.

“It is a job that’s been an honor and a privilege, but it’s not a job that leaves a lot of time to do much else.”

When, not if, Sheryl Sandberg leaves Meta has been one of the most speculated questions among current and former employees over the past few years. Even still, the news Wednesday that she will soon leave her position as the social media giant’s number-two executive sent shockwaves throughout the company and the rest of Silicon Valley.

In her own words, there are two big factors in Sandberg’s decision to leave now: the fact that Meta’s executive team has been built up to make way for her departure, and that, as the leader of the “Lean In” movement, she wants to focus more on philanthropy and women’s rights. “There’s no perfect time,” she told me during a brief phone interview Wednesday afternoon. “It is a job that’s been an honor and a privilege, but it’s not a job that leaves a lot of time to do much else.”

Here’s my full conversation with Sandberg about her stepping down as COO of Meta, edited lightly for clarity:

Why the timing of doing this now versus at any other point?

You know, when I took this job, I remember interviewing with Mark for a very long time and then going to dinner with Mark and Priscilla and [my late husband] Dave, and talking to Dave about how I should only take this job if I thought I could do it for five years. And that was 14 years ago. 14 years into a job I thought would last for five years.

There’s no perfect time. It is a job that’s been an honor and a privilege, but it’s not a job that leaves a lot of time to do much else. And I really wanted to make more room in my life to do philanthropy, to work with my foundation. It’s a very critical moment for women, and it’s very important to me and to have the opportunity to do more on that right now. It also is a moment where I really feel very, very good about the team we’ve built. Very good. I think Mark and I have built an incredibly strong team.

So was it just getting the team to a place where it felt good to be able to make this move?

Yeah, that’s a big part of it because I care so much about the company.

You’re going to stay on the board, so you’re going to continue to be engaged there. Do you plan on staying for multiple years?

I haven’t gotten that far but for now, staying on the board.

The business has always had challenges, but I would say it’s probably the most multifaceted it has ever been in terms of regulation, Apple’s tracking changes, and all these things that are happening at once. How do you feel about leaving in this moment, where there’s a huge transition underway with how ads work and everything you built?

When you think about our business, there’s never one moment where a chapter ends and a new one begins. This is not the beginning or the end of the ads, this isn’t the beginning or the end of the metaverse business. But it’s a continuum. And we’ve had challenges all along the way. We’re going to continue to have challenges going forward. The task ahead is to build the current business, which people are working on and doing, and also build the future. And I have a lot of confidence in both.

I said on the earnings call that we have a family of apps that 3 billion people use to connect. Businesses use that to grow their business and I think that can and will continue. And then when you think about the metaverse, our leader there is Boz [Andrew Bosworth]. And Boz was my partner on the ads business for a very long time. He is very business minded and I think will do a great job building the next business for the company.

What do you make of the metaverse in terms of the business bet there? It’s very long term, obviously. But how have you thought about that?

The opportunity and the challenge is the same. This is a company that has to build the next business while it’s running its current one. It’s a reflective moment for me, a time when I look back over the course of the last 14 years and see we have done that before, right? If you remember, we went public with no ads. No ads! No ads on mobile at all. And that mobile transition happened very quickly. We only had ads on the desktop, so we had to run the desktop business while migrating on to mobile. I think this is going to be an even bigger transition than that, but this is a team that knows how to make transitions like that.

Do you have a biggest regret, looking back over 14 years?

We have things we’ve learned and certainly wish we had known earlier. I put in my post that we have a real responsibility to protect peoples’ privacy, to build safety into the products. And I think we made those investments. But of course we wish we had done those earlier. And if you look at what we’re doing now with the metaverse, Nick [Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs] wrote a very good paper, and we are building that in now for the metaverse. And I think that is very, very, very important.
