<title>Indigenous Justice Clearinghouse Seeking Authors </title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>
	The Indigenous Justice Clearinghouse (IJC) is inviting expressions of interest from experienced researchers for the preparation of a number of IJC publications in 2013&ndash;2014. Each publication attracts a payment of $5 000 once published. At least one publication may form the basis of an Indigenous Justice Forum to be held in 2014. Indigenous researchers are warmly invited.</p>

	The Annual Australian National University Reconciliation Lecture is hosted annually by the National Centre for Indigenous Studies, in conjunction with Reconciliation Australia, the ANU College of Law, and the National Film and Sound Archive. The lecture is presented by an eminent member of the Australian community, who speaks on their topic of expertise as it relates to reconciliation in Australia. The 2013 lecture will be presented by Professor Patrick Dodson on 25 November 2013, and is entitled: &#39;The road to reconciliation: some reflections on the politics and challenges of reconciliation&#39;.</p>

<title>Whose voice counts? Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in child protection decision-making</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>
	The Secretariat of National and Islander Child Care (SNAICC) have released a report considering whether current legislation, policies and systems empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to make decisions about the care and protection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The report emphasises the value of cultural input in promoting decision-making in the best interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The report proposes stronger models of cultural advice and support, as well as reforms relating to the delegation and transfer of decision-making authority.</p>
