JERUSALEM, THE CITY OF GOD

Jos 15:63

"But the people of Judah were not able to drive out the Jebusites, who lived in Jerusalem. The Jebusites still live there with the people of Judah."

In Old Testament we know that Jerusalem was struggled from Jebusite, then this city was by turns dominated by several nations till up late now Jerusalem is controlled by Israel and become a capital for the country although not be admitted by some nations in the world.

Jerusalem city now becomes a Holy City for three religion communities in the world. Israel for the Temple of God (which is now only the wall remained) and the Holy Bible says that this city is the City of God. Moslems consider this city as the Third Most Holy City with their Al Aqsa Mosque. And Christian with Jesus Christ and same with Moslem consider this city as God's City.

The problem is God Himself had chosen this city become His Chosen City, although historically God often punished this city because of the choice of the people to worship idols than God. And refer to the Bible God will comes and dwells in Jerusalem on His second coming forever.

How should we be attitude as Christian towards this city: there are 3 attitudes that we could do as Christian.

First, support the existence of this city as the Holy City of Christian.

Second, be unconcerned because we have no relation with it.

Third, reject the existence of this city as the Holy City of Christian and only consider it as a historical city because of the amount of Christian history archaeological remains inside.

To know Jerusalem city status towards Christian, we have to go back to basic i.e.: back to the Bible which guide our live in this world. In the Bible, since the beginning God had determined this city as His belonging, His Chosen City.

About the reason why God chose this city it is His own 'Prerogative Right'. Maybe we can ask Him later in heaven about his reason of choosing Jerusalem city. The verses in the Bible which say that Jerusalem is God's City are in the Old Testament:

1 King 11:36
" but I will let Solomon's son keep one tribe, so that I will always have a descendant
of my servant David ruling in Jerusalem, the city I have chosen as the place
where I am worshiped".

Psalm 137:5
" May I never be able to play the harp again if I forget you, Jerusalem! "

Isa 62:2
Jerusalem, the nations will see you victorious! All their kings will see your glory. You will be called by a new name, A name given by the LORD himself.

Isa 62:12
You will be called "God's Holy People," "The People the LORD Has Saved." Jerusalem will be called "The City That God Loves," "The City That God Did Not Forsake."

Isa 2:3
"and their people will say, "Let us go up the hill of the LORD, to the Temple of Israel's God. He will teach us what he wants us to do; we will walk in the paths he has chosen. For the LORD's teaching comes from Jerusalem; from Zion he speaks to his people."

Jesus Himself cried for Jerusalem because of the obstinacy of the citizen.

Mat 23:37
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets and stone the messengers God has sent you! How many times I wanted to put my arms around all your people, just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would not let me!"

And God Had spoken that He will lives forever in Jerusalem, although the place where will become God's City is not Jerusalem city at present. Because Jerusalem which is existed now will be destroyed because of the Day End War

And God Had spoken that He will lives forever in Jerusalem,
God will send down a New Jerusalem from Heaven where His Holy people stay at the city. And God will dwells in, but must be remembered the New Jerusalem will be at Jerusalem city right now. The supporting verses:

Isa 65:19
"I myself will be filled with joy because of Jerusalem and her people. There will be no weeping there, no calling for help."

Rev 21:2
And I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband.

Rev 21:10
The Spirit took control of me, and the angel carried me to the top of a very high mountain. He showed me Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down out of heaven from God

So how we should be attitude? There are several things that we can do:
- We pray for the peaceful of this city
- If we have money we could visit this sacred place:

Psalm 122:1-9
Psa 122:1 I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the LORD's house."

Psa 122:2 And now we are here, standing inside the gates of Jerusalem!

Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you prosper.

Psa 122:7 May there be peace inside your walls and safety in your palaces."

Psa 122:8 For the sake of my relatives and friends I say to Jerusalem, "Peace be with you!"

Psa 122:9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God I pray for your prosperity.

We pray for Jerusalem not for the purpose that Israel keep occupied that city, not because we support Israel. We pray Jerusalem because it is the City of God. And God of the universe will dwells with His members/ people inside.

Jesus will lives in Jerusalem forever

THE RELATION BETWEEN CHRISTIAN AND ISRAEL

Exo 19::5-6

Exo 19:5 Now, if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own people. The whole earth is mine, but you will be my chosen people,

Exo 19:6 a people dedicated to me alone, and
you will serve me as priests."

Lately there are two points of view about Israel among Christian in the world.
1. They who curse Israel for what they have done along the time,
especially when they attacked Lebanon.

2. They that support Israel to act blindly although in fact Israel kills so many civilians.

Generally Christian in the world feels tied with Israel. It is because the God of Christian that is Jesus Christ comes from Israel, and the Holy Bible (Old Testament) same with the Israelite's Holy Bible. More over the prophets, even the ancestor are acknowledged come from Israel.

Actually if we look at the history of Israelite in the Bible, many times God said that this nation is a stubborn nation. Israel is a nation, which always leaves YHWH and worship to other nation's gods. Many times God punished this nation and the last this nation finally scattered over the earth.

The question is, has God who always fulfil His promise & fulfil
His Word leaves Israel? Has YHWH cancel His choice upon this nation?

No. God never withdraws His Words about Israel. That this nation is the 'chosen nation' looks at
God never replaces Israelites with other nation in this world. They are God's chosen nation still, even God presence in this earth and incarnated become human which was born among Israelites.

For God's anger is so deep, so this nation become the most suffering nation on this earth. Since long time ago they had been chased, exiled and even been killed by other nations. But what the other nations did was God's arm lengthen to punish His chosen nation.

When we read from the Bible, we see that God used other nations to punish Israel, but God also used His strong hands to punish the nations who trouble Israel. Even the coming back of Israel from the North and the independence of Israel had been written in the Bible.

More Paul affirmed that Israel is God's chosen race/ nation still.

Rom 11:1
" I ask, then: Did God reject his own people? Certainly not! I myself am an Israelite,
a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.'

And be continued in Rom 11:28 - 29
Rom 11:28 Because they reject the Good News, the Jews are God's enemies for the sake of you Gentiles. But because of God's choice, they are his friends because of their ancestors.

Rom 11:29 For God does not change his mind about whom he chooses and blesses.

For the Gospel They are God's enemy because of you, but for about a choice they are God's beloved because of their ancestor. For God doesn't regret His grace and His calling. God never cancel His choice upon Israel and if God never cancel His choice do we dare to curse God's chosen race? Do we better than Israel?

God does not change his mind about whom he chooses and blesses

Don't our daily life behaviour just same with Israelite behaviour? Although God has helped us several times, we are still grumbling when the help or something that we are expected doesn't appear/ come.

Although God had shown miraculous things several times in our life, but we are still keep grumbling, we often forget to thank God & thank for all of His blesses that had been given to us. We always ask more bless to God?

So what is the difference between us and the Israelites? OK, we feel better than them because we have Jesus who they don't admit in. Then, is our daily lives reflect the life as Jesus follower?

With the same religion/ Christian fellows we often quarrelling, let alone with people with different religion. Is that the life that Jesus had taught to us? Remember Jesus said " Many are called less are chosen ".

Bro, let see you. Do we better than the Israelites? The author doesn't want to defend the Israelite. The author doesn't like how the Israelite overcome their problems i.e. by bombing to act blindly instead. But the author knows that this nation is God's chosen race. They have God to whom we worship too.

And their God which is also our God is not a dead or deaf God, NO!! Our God is the Living God. He always pays attention to this nation. So, do we deserve to act representing God and curse His chosen nation? By doing that means that we want to say that we are greater then God,

We want to say that God is dead already and does nothing to Israel............how great is your mind. Have you observed your own life/ behaviour? Do you have a proper life before the God of Israel?

The author sees among Christian in Indonesia recently become a 'later in day-heroes', because they are afraid to be tortured/ threatened by the 'daughter of the slave woman'.

They always a follower to curse Israel, whereas they shut up their mouth when their own brother in faith or Indonesian fellow who live near them, their church been burnt, closed, the community been oppressed even more been killed.

HI! YOU WHO CURSE ISRAEL, YOUR BROTHER IN NATION BEEN OPRESSED YOU JUST KEEP SILENT. HOW POSSIBLE YOU LOVE OTHER NATION THAT YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE,

WHILE YOUR OWN NATION, YOUR BROTHER IN FAITH, YOU DO NOT DEFEND THEM AT ALL....... OR YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE NOT INDONESIAN ANYMORE? GO FAR AWAY FROM THIS COUNTRY YOU BOOTLICKERS!!!

In my opinion we don't need to take sides or curse the Israelites. Let God works. Remember, HE is God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Even there are some blogs and Christian sites blame the Bible by declaring that the people who defend Israelite usually bring Rome verses, well ...... if it so you do bring what kind of Bible?

Are you realizing what the Word say we should do it? Is there verse in the Bible says to curse Israel? Cursing Israel? We may not curse people instead (That's why we become 'a cursed nation' because we love to curse and curse).

Brothers, don't try to tease God's chosen nation, let's pray Israel will not attack any nation to act blindly, we pray to God to ask FATHER to handle His obstinate son. If it’s needed we pray and fast to God to change the heart of Israel's leaders. In my opinion, we don't need to take sides or curse Israel. Let God works. Remember Him, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The most important thing is putting your brother in faith first, your nation fellows, country fellows, and stay in earth Indonesia fellow. We don't need to curse other nations which we don't know well.

We can see The Lord's Prayer in many versions of languages. The author will not discuss about The Lord's Prayer because most Christian know about this prayer. The author wants to review: Do we need doing this prayer?

In some traditional church Lord's Prayer still pronounced in Sunday worship. But in Pentecost & charismatic church this prayer is rare to be heard, even more no one know it at all. The problem is: this prayer was taught by Jesus to His disciples when He was asked how to pray.

We are all known that Jesus’ disciples are not stupid in praying. Since they were young they had been taught even since their ancestor existed, such as: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Josef, David, Salomo, Elijah, Elisha etc, and their God heard their pray.

So on their religious life Jesus’ disciples know a lot about prayer, but why they still asked God how to pray?

When Jesus answered His disciples He didn't say:
*God looks into hearts. So just pray anyway or He says

*You should pray in a closed room, because your Father in Heaven
will hears your prays if you pray in a closed room or

*Before you speak God has heard. And before you pray He had known
you’re pray because He is omniscient.

*Well, many prayer examples in the Bible such as Yabez Prayer,
the most powerful prayer.... what do you ask how to pray for?
Are there someone using those reasons above? Or use other reason?

No, He says if you pray, pray like this: Our Father,
which art in Heaven......................................

Ooh Jesus taught a new prayer to His disciples. That's strange. There are so many prayer examples on their Bible. It is right that before He taught Lord's Prayer He gave some examples about the attitude on praying, such as:

- Don't pray with needlessly long sentences
- In a hidden room
- give alms quietly etc, at the last He said pray like this (Mat 6:1-13)

Now let's get back to our era. If we want to be changed/ reformed alike Jesus why don't we pray like He does or Our Father Prayer is out of date?

I see the real reason which is weighed on Christian people's mind, particularly from the community who likes to get a blessing abundance. That is the word in Lord's Prayer ...

' Give us this day our daily bread ' ..... Or give me fortune’.

Well, of course I must live in abundance just like Jesus said in:

John 10:10.
The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order
that you might have life---life in all its fullness.

That is the false reason of one of my friend. I asked him why Pentecost and charismatic churches never pronounce Lord's Prayer.

The other reason is 'How can I get 30, 60 even 100 times multiplied if I pray 'Give me enough food'. That is an old era prayer in Jesus era. Now our needs are bigger, if we asked 'enough' how can we withstand/ survive?'

There is someone else says : Ooo .... I may not pray in another way? More over the Lord's Prayer is an old fashion prayer. We can pray ask to the Holy Spirit, we don't need Our Father Prayer anymore.

Wow...... human makes so many reasons. God never forbids us to be rich. Who doesn't want to be rich? I am personally wanted to be rich, too. But the question is: if we are rich to whom is that for?

We use it for our own stomach? Or for God's Glory? God knows we deserve to be rich or not. Because usually when people has been blessed a lot they will forget God.

In my opinion, we must keep praying theLord's Prayer minimum 1 times a day, if you like. But if you don't like it's all right. There's no rule in the Bible about it. But Jesus taught us so

Our Father in heaven..........

IMMERSED BAPTIZE OR NOT?

Baptize is origin from 'Baptizio' which mean immersing/ deepening/ dipping. Just I've ever written in article ' Traditional Church vs. Charismatic Church' that recently many people from traditional church moves to Pentecost/ charismatic church.

The problem is in Pentecost/ charismatic church the people are asked to be 'rebaptized' with reasons that a sprinkle baptizing they had before is not valid/ legal. According to my opinion it is not a problem if ones would like to rebaptism, it is their own decision/ will.

The question is sprinkle baptize is valid or not?

Oo ... just to let you know, the author had done sprinkle baptized, never do immersing/deepening baptize yet, but to eat Pempek Palembang Kapal Selam (Indonesia food) yes I often do so.

Even there is a charismatic church (which is be on top right now) fame with its Holy Communion and Anointing Oil, ask their community to be rebaptized, doesn't care the people comes from famous traditional church or Pentecost.

According to this top church, the baptism that people had its not valid, because it's not been lead by the holy and sacred priest. Because of this reason/ suggestion, many people come in great numbers to be rebaptized which is held in a hotel in North Jakarta.

The author had come for several times to see the baptizing occasion while taking other people who would like to be baptized. The difference is so obvious, brother. Many people has been released from evil spirit, many people are healed from their illness. (Also there's one who goes back/ home to the Father a couple of days after been baptized).

But what the author saw there it wasn't the real baptize, it's only a releasing and healing event which is done in the water. Although some people are still been tied (the Demons are still inside them after following the baptizing).

Well, it seems that this charismatic church blends/mixes among baptizing, releasing and healing. But just let it go. Many people are released and healed. Let's go back to the core problem, ok?

The verse in the Bible says Mat 28:19

"Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them
in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,"

The order is very clear. For the people who repent & believe Jesus are asked to be baptized. If we see the origin of the baptism should be done in a place with a lot of water, but don't know why in traditional church Baptism only done by sprinkling.

Maybe they want to be thrifty with water? Or is it difficult to find a place with a lot of water? Or it has been a tradition or ....... something else, I don't know. What is clear the baptism sprinkle with water?

But there is one thing we should remember when we had been baptized truly the priest said a sacred word i.e.: 'baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit'. Do you understand what does it mean?

Maybe the small amount of water is incompatible with the water utilizing rule in baptizing. What does it mean? But the sacred value is testified / passes the examination. Why I say so?
When the priest says' baptize them in the name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit' means that Heaven baptize the person.

Heaven claimed that the person is valid belongs to Heaven. Then the angels stamp the person with "Heaven Stamp". This is what has happened in the spirit realm, when someone is baptized by a priest. So it doesn't depend to how the character of the priest is.

Because when someone is baptized that means the Heaven baptized the person not the priest. God uses the priest as a tool.

Well, same like this, if someone is appointed/ promoted by the President's decision letter/decree to be posted as let's say ... 'First Key Position Official', but the one who inaugurate the person is the Vice President. That doesn't mean that the Vice President is become the 'First Key Position Official'.

The Vice President only helps the President to legalize the person become 'First Key Position Official’ and the one who appoint / promote it is the President. So, it doesn't matter if at that time the Vice President gets scabies (skin disease) means the official who is promoted is not get scabies, too.

Or, if the Vice President is a corruptor then the new officer who just been promoted is also a corruptor? No brother, the official is just like the original official. So does the priest who baptizes the new born person.

About whether the sprinkle baptizes valid or not the author thinks simply. Let's say at the most Heaven says it's so stingy in water usage. So when someone is baptized means that he/ she is signed by Heaven to belong to Him.

Well, the special rights as children of God due to start/valid. For example : The Devil wants to bother human, he must ask permission to the Father.
So when someone is baptized means that he/ she is signed by Heaven to belong to Him.

Read this verse what Peter says in

1 Pet 3:21
"which was a symbol pointing to baptism, which now saves you. It is not the washing off of bodily dirt, but the promise made to God from a good conscience. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,"

Actually, the most important as a Christian is how we live in truth before Him, obey His will, listen to His voice, become Jesus follower, and try to reach holiness (live in holiness), pay tithes. Not the thing that we are baptized with a small amount or a lot of water.

Now I'm asking you, Moses, Elijah, David, Samuel, Enoch, the good criminal beside Jesus, were they enter the Heaven? If some one answer that they were not enters the Heaven, you'd better move to other religion. ......

See, who baptize them? Was there someone? Find it in the Bible till your head getting bold. Then if you find a bible said that Moses, Elijah, David, Samuel etc been baptized, quickly burn that bible, it must be Aunt Lucy (fer)'s

It's not the time to discuss those matters anymore. Remember Jesus will come soon. It's a pity if He comes but still sees His children quarrelling/ debating about baptizing, just like no other thing/ work can be done.

At last, a letter from Paul about baptizing

Heb 6: 1 - 3, GNB

Heb 6:1 Let us go forward, then, to mature teaching and leave behind us the first lessons of the Christian message. We should not lay again the foundation of turning away from useless works and believing in God;

Heb 6:2 of the teaching about baptisms and the laying on of hands; of the resurrection of the dead and the eternal judgment.

Heb 6:3 Let us go forward! And this is what we will do, if God allows.

Don't you feel ashamed, priest who teach kindergarten lessons merely to their community?
How can the community take progress if the people like to suckle in the church, feeding milk?

If the priest behaves like kindergarten kids, the community will be like a playgroup kids. Why milk? There's the verse

1 Cor 3:2

"I had to feed you milk, not solid food, because you were not ready for it.

And even now you are not ready for it,"

Finally, Heaven’s message (Ef 4: 3 - 6)

Eph 4:3 Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of
the peace that binds you together.
Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as there is one hope to which God has called you.
Eph 4:5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
Eph 4:6 there is one God and Father of all people, who is Lord of all,
works through all, and is in all.

Jesus will judge what we've done, not the kind of our baptizing

TRADITIONAL VS CHARISMATIC CHURCH ( 2 )

In the first chapter I review about the people from charismatic church said that traditional church doesn't have Holy Spirit. It's a big mistake to accuse traditional church which is aged more than a century ( even older than the age of Indonesia ) which had a great share in spreading the Gospel in Indonesia ( even before charismatic movement circulate in Indonesia) as a church without Holy Spirit.

But obviously in traditional church itself is found a fatal mistake, in which many people of traditional church regards charismatic as

- IT IS COME FROM SATAN, NOT FROM HOLY SPIRIT

Well, if it is come from Satan, how come Satan drive out Satan? Such as said

Luk 11:15 GNB :
" But some of the people said ". It is Beelzebul, the chief of the demons,
who gives him the power to drive them out".

And Jesus answered

Luk 11:18-19 GNB :
" So if satan's kingdom has groups fighting each other, how can it last? You say that I drive out demons because Beelzebul gives me the power to do so. If this is how I drive them out, how do your followers drive them out? Your own followers prove that you are wrong!"

Well, it's clear, right? Is the traditional church people accusation same with the Pharisee accusation to Jesus, precisely? How come we could find similarity? Isn't that exciting? The accusation from 2000 years ago heard again 2000 years later. There are some accusations from traditional church say:

'A strange tongue in charismatic church comes from Satan'.

Has this people ever read the Bible or not? No, no..... Don't read the Bible of Jude or Barnabas Gospel which is made a fuss by Lucifer follower and our opposition brother. You are wrong, Pal!! Read the Bible of LAI (Indonesia Bible Society) edition or more impressing read the original version of Greek.

But if you can read only Batak language or Javanese or another language in Indonesia they are available: an official Bible in many languages. If you want to know clearly go into LAI or SABDA sites. Or if you want to see Bible of many version from Hebrew era till satellite era just look at e-sword sites.

Ever read this verse?

Act 19:6 GNB:
" Paul places his hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came upon them; they
spoke in strange tongues and also proclaimed God's message".

Or this verse

1 Cor 12:8-11 GNB:
"1Co 12:8 The Spirit gives one person a message full of wisdom,
while to another person the same Spirit gives a message full of knowledge.

1Co 12:9 One and the same Spirit gives faith to one person,
while to another person he gives the power to heal.

1Co 12:10 The Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles; to another, the gift of speaking God's message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said.

1Co 12:11 But it is one and the same Spirit who does all this; as he wishes,
he gives a different gift to each person. ".

Or this verse

1 Cor 12:28 GNB :
"In the church God has put all in place: in the first place apostles, in the second place prophets, and in the third place teachers; then those who perform miracles, followed by those who are given the power to heal or to help others or to direct them or to speak in strange tongues".

Have you read? Not yet, hmmm.... it's ok. From now on please read the Bible, would you? Don't listen to the preaching from your pastor only. It's good, if he is true. What about if the pastor come from deviating stream flow (ideology)

My loving brother/ sister don't worry for everything had happened. From now on try to understand each other. The author knows & realizes that there are some cases in which people speak with strange tongues, apparently not comes from the Holy Spirit but from deviating Spirit.

And for brothers of charismatic, don't be proud if you speak in strange tongues, because some retarded tribes in Africa when they do their ritual ceremony, they speak with 'strange tongues'. But this strange tongue comes from Aunt Lucy (fer).

Let's say for these two church communities “Put all things to the test ", asks God, don't trust anybody but GOD.

Oh brothers/ sisters, God loves all of us. We are special to be adopted as 'God's children', not because our flesh/ blood nor our good deed, but because the sacrifice of JESUS on the Cross.

CHARISMATIC VS TRADITIONAL CHURCH ( I )

Recently Charismatic movement is incessantly. Charismatic which is come from Pentecost propagation is become more interested by Christian community, because it use more energetic and inspiring liturgy and use Holy Spirit gifts more in church.

While traditional church doesn't have significance development from time to time, with the result that Christian from traditional church moves to charismatic church. This movement is not a problem, because everyone has the right to choose a place in where they can go to worship.

The problem is, recently an offended bad image of traditional church circulating in charismatic community, i.e.:
"Traditional church doesn't have Holy Spirit"

This word is hurting traditional church community, because by stamping/labeling 'No Holy Spirit' is same with treating traditional church same as Satan’s church. Because no Holy Spirit, no God, means Satan is presence.

Well, so Indonesia people who were preached become Christian before charismatic is presence, who is confessed already that Jesus is God, comes from where......? Is it come from Satan?

Oh please charismatic people use your brain, who does the mission in Indonesia along this time? Are you who claimed as charismatic people? Do you know the age of traditional church like HKBP (Huria Kristen Batak Protestan) you humiliate this church doesn't have Holy Spirit? They are 146 years old. Were there charismatic people during that time?
AND THEN... WHEN DO CHARISMATIC PEOPLE SPREAD THE GOSPEL? ARE CHARISMATIC SPREAD THE GOSPEL ALL THIS TIME?

GPIB is 59 years old, which name previously ' De Protestantse Kerk in Westelijk Indonesie'. There are some old traditional churches share great contributions in spreading Christian religion in Indonesia.

So, use your brain when you speak, don't use your knee to think. You must be forgetting if your grandpa/ grandma, opa/oma, ompung, eyang, mbah, aki etc, grew from traditional church.

Or are you the infidel/ unbeliever who become a Christian? Or maybe you come from Satan church who intended to break Christian in Indonesia into many pieces?

As written at this verse

Jude 1:19 :
"These are the people who cause divisions, who are controlled by their natural desires,
who do not have the Spirit.”

Do you know the Bible verse says

1 Cor 12:3:
"I want you to know that no one who is led by God's Spirit can say "A curse on Jesus!"
And no one can confess "Jesus is Lord," without being guided by the Holy Spirit".

The author at this time is going to charismatic church, but since baby up till knowing Jesus personally the author went to traditional church. What the author sees recently is: there are troublemakers in church who are trying to break Christian both in traditional and charismatic church.

Actually going to any church is just same because the Bible says "Though we are many; but we are one body". So try from right now not to judge the church which is not same with yours.

Just begin your life knowing Jesus personally, be diligent to read the Bible and memorize it, and also become an intercessor for God. Let traditional church go with its way/ liturgy, so charismatic church does,

because the Bible says in:

Psalm 53:2-3:

"Psa 53:2 God looks down from heaven at people to see
if there are any who are wise, any who worship him.

Psa 53:3 But they have all turned away; they are all equally bad.
Not one of them does what is right, not a single one. ".

And the Bible continue with the Word

1 John 1:8 :
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us."

Well, brothers & sisters, we are all sinner. Thank God, Jesus had redeemed us of our sins. So stop considers us or our group or our church better than the others. Let God judges when the time is coming, whether you and I are right or wrong before Him?

TENTH (TITHES)

Tenth is a familiar term for Christian. According to the Bible history tenth is started since Abraham gave his war produce result as amount 10% to the king of Salem, the Most High God alias Melchizedek

Gen 14:18 And Melchizedek, who was king of Salem and also a priest of the Most High God, brought bread and wine to Abram,

Gen 14:19 blessed him, and said, "May the Most High God, who made heaven and earth,
bless Abram!

Gen 14:20 May the Most High God, who gave you victory over your enemies, be praised!" And Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the loot he had recovered.

That was the first tenth be given to God by His people noted in the Bible. Perhaps, before Abraham the people had given the tenth to God. The story about the tenth continue when Jacob made a vow to God, in which we can see at this verse

Gen 28:20 Then Jacob made a vow to the LORD: "If you will be with me and protect me on the journey I am making and give me food and clothing,

Gen 28:21 and if I return safely to my father's home, then you will be my God.

Gen 28:22 This memorial stone which I have set up will be the place where you are worshiped, and I will give you a tenth of everything you give me."

Then God made this tenth confirmation become rule from heaven, which is officially conducted to all Israelites. This rule was given while the Israelites were in the desert

Deu 14:22 "Set aside a tithe---a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.

This official confirmation/ rule is valid and came from heaven. Not one verse in the whole Bible canceled this tenth. Upright now the question is 'Have we give our tenth?'

In the New Testament story about tenth never been written clearly, that makes people deceit that tenth only applied in Old Testament. Well, that is human, they make so many reasons just to avoid to pay tenth.

In New Testament, there was a story told that Jesus gave a parable
about a Pharisee who prayed

Luk 18:12
" I fast two days a week, and I give you one tenth of all my income." .

If this tenth confirmation is not valid anymore it's impossible Jesus told a parable about the Pharisee gave his one tenth of his income. This means that the tenth confirmation is still valid, even when Jesus was still live and was being in the world

Do you want to know more about tenth? The previous parable is told by Jesus, now I'll tell you a true story. Do you remember, there was a rich man came to Jesus and said

Luk 18:18
"A Jewish leader asked Jesus, "Good Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?" Remember, this man had done all the commandments in his life",

but what Jesus said? in Luk 18:22

"When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "There is still one more thing you need to do.
Sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven;
then come and follow me."

Now it's clear, right, that the concept about tenth is refer to New Testament, too. Which one you still follow? Give tenth felt too hard for you? Then how you would give all of your wealth? all what you have?

Actually, if we have the right concept in our hearts about the wealth we have, we must thank God for only ten percent (one-tenth) of His wealth/properties which is entrusted to us must be given back to Him. Remember !! All what we have is God's. Nothing we have. You don't believe this ?

Tenth is asked by God so that we share our income with our brothers/sisters who are not get God's blessing like we are.

Let's see...... when people die do they bring their wealth/ properties together to the grave? Come on ...... is there anyone burried together with their car, houses, fixed deposit, etc ..... if there any please tell me.

Job said in Job 1:21 :
"He said, "I was born with nothing, and I will die with nothing. The LORD gave, and now he has taken away. May his name be praised!".

Psalm 24:1
"The world and all that is in it belong to the LORD; the earth and all who live on it are his."

Tenth is asked by God not because God is poor, so that He take tax from us. No brothers, .... tenth is asked by God so that we share our income with our brothers/sisters who are not get God's blessing like we are. God wants us to become a social creature who will help their fellows.

God wants us to always give thanks for all His blessings to us and also in order to have hearts to share, especially to our brothers/ sisters in faith who suffer from poverty/ lacks. Many people feel hard to give tenth. They give reasons that their income is small ,"For my own living it's not enough, how can I share to others ?".

Our God is not God who wants us to live in poverty. No brother/ sister !........ when you give tenth with all of your heart and without bragged (fanfare), God will repay/give multiplied reward.

Excitedly Christian often take this verse to avoid pay tenth

2 Cor 9:7
" You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly"

Hmm .... it's a nice verse, you are smart to avoid pay tenth. The problem is : the tenth is God order ratified by the Heaven Advisory Assembly and conducted to all of earth inhabitant, so if we don't give our tenth God will take back the tenth from us by Himself.

How ....???? Maybe through illness, so that we must spend money for medicinal treatment, or another various incidents or cases (damaged house, broken down car , accident, etc). Well, if we want to live in composure, been blessed by God more, please, try to give tenth.

Remember, the Words that come out from God never come back in vain, so if there had Words about tenth already, is it possible that the Words is canceled?

FAITH TO JESUS, STATISTIC COUNTING BY NUMBER

According to Christian research data, today February 23rd, 2007 - 11 am, Christian world population number are 2,165,008,090 among total world population 6,530,537,809. Wow.... its fantastic numbers. Almost 33% of the whole world population is Christian.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia many Christian organizations claim almost 30% of the whole Indonesia population is Christian. Of course, the truth of this statistic is in doubt. If Indonesian Christian people are huge why Christian in this country is oppressed? Why so many churches are forced to be closed? Worse, why disasters come increasingly to this loving country?

Some says, according to the Bible we are blessed people, so where is the blessing to which we should bring & make this nation to be blessed too? Or maybe we are the cursed people? So God is so infuriated to our nation, Christian & non Christian. So what make difference we are being in Indonesia? (What make us difference in Indonesia?)

I believe if it's true 30% of Indonesia people are Christian and only 5% pray intensively, ask forgiveness to God for the sins of our nation. Great disasters will not happen repeatedly to this loving country.
If Indonesian Christian people are huge why Christian in this country is oppressed? Why so many churches are forced to be closed?
Well, statistic. On this era people always rely on numbers. In revival we only see the people come forward (altar call) statistically. Or we only see the people fill in a card given by the committee. I wonder, how could be someone become Jesus follower just measured from how many people come for altar call?

International evangelist/preacher always shouts about their revival visitors. Actually, they want the people to become Jesus follower or to count how many people enter the stadium? Or how many people come for altar call?

We still remember when Benny Hinn came to Indonesia, there's a singer go up to the stage & claimed himself being cured of his cancer......and a few months later we heard that the singer went home to the Father in Heaven (RIP).

Jesus says," Many are invited, but few are chosen". Have we become the one who is chosen? Or we are the one counted from the unclear statistic?

THE GUIDANCE TO HEAR GOD VOICE ( 2 )

On the 1st chapter I explained the first step to hear God's voice. For Christian, ability to hear God's voice it's not an amazing or miraculous thing. The wondering thing is: if we've been long to claim ourselves as Jesus follower but we don't know better who Jesus is.

As I wrote, to hear God's voice we must have yearning to know God personally & we must have willing to life in holiness & strong will to serve God indeed. Without strong will to know God more, everything is in vain.

I don't know either, why churches (especially traditional church) seldom to teach their community about how to hear God's voice? Moreover, in fact many priests don't know God personally. I'd ever told about a priest had served for 40 years but she didn't know well God who she served for (read:Welcome to my Blog). If churches teach the way to hear God's voice as early as possible (since 'Sunday School') the world will produce an extraordinary Christ soldiers.

So many voices heard inside us.

Basically there are 4 voices that we used to hear:
1. our own spirit voice
2. God's Angel's voice
3. Holy Spirit's voice
4. Satan's voice.

At the beginning it will be so confused to differentiate between these 4 voices. Sometimes we feel that the voice is God's, but actually it is our own heart voice. When we start to learn how to hear God's voice we will do so many mistakes. This is normal. The Apostle Paul, who'd ever been lifted to heaven, sometimes confused to differentiate between his own voice or God's Spirit.

Many famous God's servants sometimes feel hard to differentiate whether the voice he heard comes from God or the others. In this verse below we'll see how Paul was so concern & carefully in writing his letters. We could see that he almost wrong in this verse (1 Cor 7:10) " For married people I have command which is not my own but the Lord's; a wife must not leave her husband " (GNB).

At the beginning Paul felt that he, himself, had opinion that divorce is not allowed, but then Holy Spirit corrected his mind with the result that he say " I ....no, not I". If we hear the voice related to religious life it's easy to differentiate between that the thing is right or wrong, because we have guidance i.e. the Bible.

The problem is: when we asking direction/guidance about something to God. For example: we ask His direction where we should work in?

(We must choose from 2 or 3 companies which accepted us). Sometimes we confused to make a decision. Or we ask God for mating/ life partner. Let's say there are 1 - 2 people very close to us, and all of them are ready to be our wife/ husband (wow!). Or we ask God about where should we serve Him?

There's no firm guidance can be used to know God's voice because only yourself who will decide whether the voice that we heard is from God, Evil or yourself. Usually God will answer on the last moment. Or it could be happened, someday we are unconsciously going to one of the company & we decide to accept the job offered.

God will be in contact with human according to every human personality. The great thing is all God's children feel that they are special in His eyes. That is our God. He respects us person by person. And He's in contact with us personally. For example: for a gentle man God will educate tenderly because He knows that this man will not accept if he conducted roughly. But for someone who used to live hard, God will educate him in a tough way, because if he conducted gently this man could not be educated.
God will be in contact with human according to every human personality. The great thing is all God's children feel that they are special in His eyes
The best way to test whether the voice we heard comes from God or others is: if we're husband-wife we can ask our mate about what should we do or we ask God to tell someone closed to us (they must be closed to God, too). Or we can ask a pastor/ priest that we know well to ask God whether the voice is really comes from God.

Although we ask someone else to help us to get God's answered we should remember the final decision is in our hands. We are basically the one who knows exactly about the voice. If there's no peace in our heart we must reject the voice.

Devil & their followers are very clever to deceit us. They can tell us something religious or guidance AS IF come from God. Same with our flesh, can deceit/ cheat us by telling something as

if come from God, but actually the case only to satisfy our own flesh/ desire. For example : the sample above/ before, we feel that God ask us to work in one of the company which will give higher salary to us.

Or another voice tells us if we work at 'that' company means that we will help God's (field) work more, as for the higher salary we have the higher tenth. We could give. But actually the case is we want to enjoy the higher salary for having more chances to enjoy our lusts/ desires.

To be able to hear God's voice truly, we should build an intimate relation with God. We are created to have a relationship with God. He wants us to be closed with Him, always. We must ask Him to become our best friend. The Holy Spirit is God with His very gentle personal.

The Bible says “...there was the soft whisper of a voice". We must connect with God 24 hours, even when we talk to other people; we can keep talking to God also (in the same time).

Then we should differentiate between 3 personalities of God i.e: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus said about Holy Spirit in

John 16:13-15 :
(13) When however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, He will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but He will speak of what He hears & will tell yourself things to come.
(14) He will give Me glory, because He will take what I say and tell it to you.
(15) all that my Father has is Mine; that is why I said that the spirit will take what I give him & tell it to you".

Holy Spirit is God in another personality who'd like to stay together with us, human. It's right what Jesus ever said, if Jesus stayed He as human will only be in one place. But, when Holy Spirit comes, He could be at everywhere, every time and for everyone (sounds like Coca Cola advertisement).

In Old Testament, Holy Spirit had done His work. We often read "...the Power of Holy Spirit is on the Prophets!” but God not stay in the Prophets, God only comes to consecrate or stay for a temporary time. After the work of the Prophets is finished, the consecration is finish, too. It's different with the time when Jesus goes up to heaven. Holy Spirit officially is sent to become the Comforter, the Truth Spirit who will teach everything to us.

One more thing that we can do to know God more is: we must memorize Bible's verses a lot. So we are asked not only to read The Words but to memorize The Words also. Most Christian are reluctant to read God's Word regularly (how can he memorize the Words if he never read it). God often cites (excerpts) His Words when He gives us His direction/ guidance. The reason God cites the Words is because the Words (the Bible) is come from Himself (God).

So, the conclusions of how we can hear God’s voice are:

1. the most important thing is we must yearning to know Him personally.

2. We must read and memorize God's Words (the Bible) a lot.

3. We must have a will to live in purity and holiness.

4. We must place God to be the Most Important/ First Thing in our life.

In our effort to know God's voice, sometimes He let us find mistakes, or wrong decision for our mishearing. Don't be discouraged. God let us to experience that, so that we will be more careful in deciding whether the voice comes from God indeed, or not. Finally, keep trying......

THE GUIDANCE TO HEAR GOD'S VOICE ( I )

In my articles "Are You Jesus Follower" I wrote that become a Christian doesn't mean become Jesus follower. To be called as Jesus follower people should be able to hear God's voice, because

Jesus said in John 10:27

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me".

The problem is: How can we hear God's voice?
Does He speak? Talk to us?

The conditions of how can we hear God's voice is:

1. We yearn to know God personally.
We must examine our heart; do we have been yearning to know God personally? Or we only want to get His bless? Many peoples seek God for the purpose to get God's blessings only, not to know Him personally.

Now I ask you, if there's someone want to be acquainted with you, but his purpose is just to ask your help & you know if you fulfill this man's request tomorrow this man will come again with another purpose, asking other things to you. Perhaps you would be patience for 5 - 10 requests, after that you'll kick this man out of your house.

Well, that is what God feel about if we come to Him only to beg and beg His blessings, but not to know Him intimately. God knows our heart. We might say to God with our lips that we want to hear His voice & want to know Him personally, but God knows our real heart more. The great thing is God is full of patience to us and keep giving His blessings to us! OK, let’s say we have a noble and pure heart before Him, the next step is:

2. Take some pieces of paper and a pen.
You start to pray and tell him how you yearn to meet Him so much & ask Him to tell all of your sins along your life. Start to worship Him & pray with all your heart. Don't forget, you must do this in a closed room alone. Don't do this in mal or supermarket.

If you do it with all your heart God will tells your sins. How? By remind you of your sins. Write the sins one by one. Remember! Don’t prepare only a piece of paper!

3. Ask forgiveness for your sins.
After you notes your sins, begin to ask Him forgiveness for your sins. For example: you note that you keep bitterness to your family or a friend. Pray, ask God forgiveness for your incapability to forgive your family/ friend. You do it for all sins in which you had noted. Maybe you think "Well, I'd been forgiven for my sins". It had been already.

Your sins had been forgiven. BUT, do you remember which sin had been forgiven? How can we say we'd been forgiven but we still keep bitterness or grudge in our life or we can not forgive other people yet? Hasn't God say that He wouldn't forgive our sins if we won't forgive others? (Our Father Pray: forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors).

4. Let God become the King of your life.
After you ask forgiveness ask Him to become the Master of your life. Give your whole body, soul and spirit to Him. Also you’re will, worries/anxiety, problem and other things in your life. Tell Him how you thank Him for He had reconciled His life for you. Surrender all of your wealth and your family to His arm. Now you become the poorest people in the world because you've given everything to God.

5. Start to prepare time as two together with God.
You can choose your best time with God. Some like to do it in the morning or in the afternoon or night time. If you want to talk to God HERE (NOW) IS the time. Open the meeting with pray. Invite Him to come. After pray start to read the Bible. God loves to teach when you learn His Words. Ask Him what does His Words mean?

6. Talk to Him along the day.
Most people never talk to their God, unless they're praying. I don't know what kind of deviate teachings possess those people think that God hears only when they're praying.

God isn't deaf, Pal. Start your day when you wake up in the morning saying "Good morning, God". And along the day keep talking to him. At beginning, because you're not used to hear God, you wouldn't hear Him yet, and this is normal.

This can be explained as:'If there's best friend/dad/husband calls/phones you and you receive it. How can you recognize that the voice is your best friend/dad/husband? Certainly you answered, "Of course I know it, and I remember / recognize their voice. Because I often to talk to him/her. God like wise. If you often to talk to Him so you would recognize His voice.

God say that he wouldn't forgive our sin, if we won't forgive others
God's voice is so gentle. His voice is deep in our heart. If His voice is tender, it doesn't mean in noisy atmosphere you wouldn't hear Him. No brothers/sisters, you can hear Him although you are in a noisy atmosphere.

Start to rely on God in everything, even when you choose your daily shirt or make a decision. Ask Him,” God, which shirt/ dress I should wear today?” When you do something, be engaged in conversation with God. Ask Him how to do your job the best? What I mean to conversation with God is not by mouth. You just need to talk to Him inside your heart. Understand what I mean? Don't worry, although you talk inside your heart God hears you.

Well, try all the method above. Don't try only once and then you give up if it’s not succeeded. Come on, don't give up.

As mentioned before, general appellation name could means status, title, call etc? In the beginning human call God 'El' or 'Adonai". The origin word of El, Eloah, Elohim and Adonay as follows:

The History of EL Word
El is a general word in Semitic (Canaan) which is used to worship The Highest Him. The history of this El word comes from Godliness personal name of Canaanites. El is not the real personal name. The real idea of El is "Great, Strong, and Power". Abraham and Melkisedek encounter is an example in which Melkisedek is El Elyon Priest.The meaning of El Elyon is "El the Mighty Elyon " or "El is the real name"

The History of ELOAH Word
In Semitic the familiar Godliness name is not El only, but Eloah also. The history of Eloah is from El which means "Great, Strong, and Power" and the root word means "swear" and then become a fused name Eloah which means "The people who tied oath of allegiance up to Eloah". Eloah name appear in 57 times in Old Testament. 42 times among it are in Job, and 15 times are outside Job.

The History of ELOHIM Word
Elohim is rooted from El. Elohim comes from the fusion of 2 words Eloah and Im. The suffix Im at Elohim refers to the plural words. So Eloah is a singular word from the plural word Elohim.

In Old Testament Elohim is mentioned for 2570 times

The History of ADONAY Word

Adonay comes from word Adon and Ay, which means: Master or My lord. Adonay appear 449 times in Old Testament, and the most usage of Adonay is in Ezekiel for 217 times.

From the name as appelation, call or title in Old Testament we divide it based in status, function, title and nickname as follows:

1. Appellation name related to the status.

For examples: Elohim = God
Adonai = Master, Lord

2. Appellation name related to the function/ position.

For examples :
El Maleki = God is my King (Psa 68:24)
O God, your march of triumph is seen by all,
the procession of God (El Maleki), my king, into his sanctuary

Elohe Tishuathi = God my Saviour (Psa 18:46)
The LORD lives! Praise my defender! Proclaim the greatness of the
God (Elohe Tishuathi) who saves me.

Yahweh Bore = God the Creator (Isa 40:28)
don’t you know? Haven't you heard? The LORD (Yahweh Bore) is the everlasting God; he created the entire world. He never grows tired or weary. No one understands his thoughts.

Yahweh Hasophet = God the Judge (Judge 11:27)
No, I have not done you any wrong. You are doing wrong by making war on me. The LORD (Yahweh Hasophet) is the judge. He will decide today between the Israelites and the Ammonites."

Yahweh Rophe = God the Healer (Exo 15:26)
He said, "If you will obey me completely by doing what I consider right and by keeping my commands, I will not punish you with any of the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians. I am the LORD (Yahweh Rophe), the one who heals you."

Yahweh Roi = God my Shepherd (Psalm 23:1)
The LORD (Yahweh Roi) is my shepherd; I have everything I need.

Yahweh Jireh = God Supply/Equip (Gen 1:26)
Then God (Yahweh Jireh) said, "And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small."

3. Appellation name related to the title.

For examples :
El Elyon = The Most High God (Gen 14:18)
"And Melchizedek, who was king of Salem and also a priest of the Most High God (El Elyon),
brought bread and wine to Abram"

Yahweh Tsebaoth = God of Universe (1 Sam 1:3)
every year Elkanah went from Ramah to worship and offer sacrifices to the LORD Almighty (Yahweh Tsebaoth) at Shiloh, where Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were priests of the LORD.

El Emunah = The Faithful God (Deutero 7:9)
Remember that the LORD your God is the only God (El Emunah) and that he is faithful. He will keep his covenant and show his constant love to a thousand generations of those who love him and obey his commands,

El Gibbor = Mighty God, Isa 9:6
A child is born to us! A son is given to us! And he will be our ruler. He will be called, "Wonderful Counselor," "Mighty God El Gibbor)," "Eternal Father," "Prince of Peace.

Elohim Kedoshim = The Holy God (Jos 24:19)
"Joshua said to the people, "But you may not be able to serve the LORD.
He is a holy God ( Elohim Kedoshim )and will not forgive your sins. He will tolerate no rivals,

El Hay = The Living God (Jos 3:10)
Jos 3:10 as you advance, he will surely drive out the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, and the Jebusites. You will know that the living God (El Hay) is among you

El Shadday = Almighty God (Gen 17:1).
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said,
"I am the Almighty God (El Shadday). Obey me and always do what is right.

4. Appellation name related to nickname.

For example:
El Bethel = God who is in Bethel (Gen 35:7)
and there he built an altar and called the place El-bethel,
because there God had revealed himself to him when he fled from his brother.

El Kanna = The Jealous God (Exo 20:5)
You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD (El Kanna) your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

El Mauzi = God is my Refuge (Psalm 43:2)
Psa 43:2 For you are the God (El Mauzi) in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

El Marom = God in Highest Place (Micah 6:6)
"With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high (El Marom)?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

Yahweh Maginnenu = God is my Shield (Psalm 33:20)
we put our hope in the LORD; He is (Yahweh Maginnenu) our protector and our help.

Yahweh Kerenyishi = God is Horn of Salvation (Psalm 18:3)
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation (Yahweh Kerenyishi), my high tower.

Yahweh Metsudhathi= God is my Fortress City (Psalm 18:3)
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress (Yahweh Metsudhathi ), and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation (Yahweh Kerenyishi), my high tower.

Yahweh Nissi = God is my Banner (Exo 17:15)
" And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The LORD Is My Banner (Yahweh Nissi)

Yahweh Sali = God is my Rock (Psalm 18:2)
The LORD (Yahweh Sali) is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower.

Yahweh Shammah = God is Presence (Ezek 48:35)
"It shall be eighteen thousand reeds round about. And the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD (Yahweh Shammah) is there.'

Here are my explanations about God's names in Old Testament. His personal name is YHWH and He has so many titles and nicknames.

Recently, Christian people in Indonesia talk about the name of God. Some would like to call Him "Yahweh"; others want to call him "Allah". Hi! People who talk and make noisy about God's

name! "HE IS GOD". It's up to you how you call Him, He would understand! God wants your heart not your mouth (words). You shouldn't make a fuss about God's name. The important thing is "Have you been the true Jesus follower? Have you heard God's voice?"

In Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesia Dictionary) word 'Allah' means: the name of God in Arabic, the most perfect universe creator; The Only God worshiped by the faithful people. This topic will study/discuss the name of God as personal name or term; general appellation or a particular given name that linked together with an event or someone who involved.

God’s Personal Name.

His Word to Moses

Exodus 3:14
God said, "I am who I am. You must tell them:
'The one who is called I AM has sent me to you.'

"I am who I am. The one who is called I AM has sent me to you". That is the beginning God introduce Himself to Moses. When Moses asks who sent him and what's His name, the verse is :

Exo 3:15

Tell the Israelites that I , the LORD (YHWH), the God (Elohe) of their ancestors,
the God (Elohe) of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, have sent you to them.
This is my name forever; this is what all.

"Aku adalah Aku"(Indonesia), "Ehyeh Asyer Ehyeh"(Hebrew), "Ego Eimi Ho On"(Greek) or YAHWEH is a proper name consist of 4 consonant YHWH which is called Tetragrammaton. The meaning of Yahweh is God's presence actively or I AM, Be Present and Everlasting Existence.

God introduce His proper name for the first time to Moses which before, on Patriarch time named El/ Elohim/ Eloah. In order that Yahweh could become the God of Abraham & human beings, the translator insert the name of Yahweh. We can find it in MT (Masoret Text), the text that protected & compiled hereditary by Masoret priest family.

Practically the Israelites never mention God with 'YHWH', because it’s sacred. They change YHWH with Adonai which means Master or Lord. The verses that prohibit calling just Yahweh

Exodus 20:7 ; Deutero 5:11
"Don't use my name for evil purposes, for I, the Lord, your God,
will punish anyone who misuses my name".

Lev 24: 16 says
" Any Israelites or any foreigner living in Israel who curses the Lord shall be
stoned to death by the whole community"

Some uses of YHWH in Old Testament appear for 6823 times. This is the greatest usage/utilizing compared to the use of divine name Elohay or Adonai. Some examples in using name YHWH as follows:

I am who I am. The one who is called I AM has sent me to you". That is the beginning God introduce Himself to Moses.

1. First time YHWH called by Eve

Genesis 4:1
Then Adam had intercourse with his wife, and she became pregnant. She bore a son and said, "By the LORD's (YHWH) help I have gotten a son." So she named him Cain.

Since that the name of YHWH is called by human more often. (Gen 4:20) "....It was then that people began using the Lord's Holy Name in worship"

2. Name YHWH called by Noah

Genesis 9:26
“Give praise to the LORD (YHWH), the God of Shem!
Canaan will be the slave of Shem”

3. Name YHWH called by Abraham

Genesis 12:8
“…………There also he built an altar and worshiped the LORD (YHWH).”

4. Name YHWH called by Isaac

Genesis 26:25
“Isaac built an altar there and worshiped the LORD (YHWH).
Then he set up his camp there, and his servants dug another well.”

5. Name YHWH called by Jacob

Gen 28:16
“ Jacob woke up and said, "The LORD (YHWH) is here!
He is in this place, and I didn't know it!"

6. Name YHWH worshipped by Moses & Israelites

Exodus:15:1-3
Exo 15:1 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD:
"I will sing to the LORD (YHWH), because he has won a glorious victory;
he has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea.

Exo 15:2 The LORD (YHWH) is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will sing about his greatness.

Exo 15:3 The LORD (YHWH) is a warrior; the LORD is his name.

What is the meaning of Jesus follower ? How to become Jesus follower? Jesus follower is not someone whose religion is Christian. Jesus follower is someone who knows and known by Jesus personally.

God declares/clarifies to the person and the person will know God truly. And do you know if you haven't meet God personally you couldn't be called as Christ followers.

This is a true story; there was a pastor/priest from traditional church had served God for 40 years, even as a shepherd in a church. She served the church, and did all things that priest/pastor should do. Apparently as along as she served as a priest/pastor she never knew God personally. (She knew God only from the bible). She just acquainted with God after she retired.

She served for 40 years and as long as 40 years she didn't know God who she serves for .
This isn't a false story. You can meet this priest/pastor. Now she serves and opens a prayer school in Jakarta, and has made some tough intercessors. Not only that, she serves 'till Irian Jaya hinterland instead. God use her in terrific way after she retired.

On her testimony she said that she had served God 40 years but she didn't know God well. So.....who did she serve for, along 40 years? The question is, has you know God well or personally /truly? To know that if you are interested, please read this article below.

Maybe we've been long to be a "religious Christian". Even more since we were born we had been baptized (traditional church allowed baby baptizing) or had been surrendered to God through each church (Pentecost and charismatic).

Since a baby, every week, we are taken to the church and join 'Sunday school' 'till teenage, after that we follow bible study, school of ministry or get involved in other church activities ( like: join a choir, orphanage visit, hospital visit, jail visit etc) and get in Christian communities outside the church.

In our heart we feel that we are "religious" and "son of God", different with secular people with all their unclear behave or activities. We are religious people who love God and if we have sin, it's only a small sin and we believe God will forgive us.

We often judge people by say "Huh worldly people, don't concern about religious things!” We feel that we are God's children and they are Satan children. Till someday we are startled to hear someone ask us, "Do you know, God admonished me for not reading bible recently", and he continues "Do you talk with God?” Hearing this question, we might think, that this man is crazy. (And we say in our heart)

"Have a talk with God? God can speak to us?

Maybe this man needs counseling, how possible God talk to us?”

God can speak? Well, actually who has unclear status
as Christian, we are or that man?

Our Lord says in John 10:14
“I am the good shepherd. As the Father knows me and I know the Father, in the same way I know my sheep and they know me. And I am willing to die for them. "

and continued in John 10:27 (Good News Bible) "
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me".

Is the verse clear for you? If not....please read again.

Brothers and sisters, our God is a mighty God. Everything is created by Him and for Him. How dare you say that God is dumb (mute, silent)? He yearns us to speak with Him every moment. Now it's clear, OK! So.....don't ever say (to other people) you are a worldly/profane people. If we are an unclear religious people, this means spiritual fantasizing. We claim as Jesus follower but we never talk to our MASTER. .......What are you doing up till now?

Think!!! Are there any troops never talk to their commander? Or the troops only know the rules/orders from regulation book/standard operation book? Bro and Sister, “Turn to the LORD and pray to him, now that he is near." Isa 55:6

God is not far from us. We did keep away from Him.
Do you know what God says about this spiritual fantasizing people?

"These people, says God, honor me with their words,
but their heart is really far away from me"

Thank you for your time visiting this blog. This blog is set for all kind of Christian (real Christian, false Christian, apostate Christian, fickle Christian, etc). Everyone is welcomed here.

For you who aren't Christian but want to know about Christianity we welcome you too. But you, who'd like to vilify Christianity, please go away!! You're not accepted here. Usually, people who like to vilify other religion/beliefs, know only a little of his/ her own religion/ beliefs.

How he/ she criticize other people's religion while he/she is not settling/ only know a little about his/ her own religion? Learn your own religion/ beliefs first. If you've already memorized your whole Holy Bible and you've done all what God's order, I believe you'll not vilify other people's religion anymore.

In this blog I learn to write about Christianity. Articles, story, papers, etc. This is my first time, so I hope you'd understand if the contents of this blog still in disarray. You know, learning needs process and we must keep learning till God's call is come.

To be Christian means to be Jesus follower. To be Christian is not same with to be a person whose religion is Christian. Religion is set by human whereas Christ follower means the person is directly chosen by God to be His follower. About the process how someone is chosen by God, nobody knows. Everybody has different encounters/ experiences with God. Someone could meet God at his room, at worship time or revival occasion, in church or even in the bathroom.

Someone will change his/ her whole life after he/ she has personal encounter/experience with God. It could happen slowly or instantly. For instance : someone who usually very lazy to go to church, pray or read the Bible, after he/ she's touched by God this person become the most diligent one to go to church, pray and read the Bible. Change 180 degrees.

God is Personal. He loves to stay close/ contiguous with His children, but His children love the world with its flesh desires more. That's why a verse says: Let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature.

There are many kinds of Christians with various level of Christianity. Christian by generation, Christian by ID card, Christian by married, or become a Christian because often been given food/ money, Christian by hatred, or not satisfy with his/ her previous religion/ beliefs, heresy Christian, deviate Christian, true Christian, showing off Christian, etc. About what Christian are we, only we & God knows? Usually people value or judge the outside performance only but people hide their identity behind their mask

We often hear about someone who loves Jesus previously then because of his/ her love to another flesh which will end be eaten by worm, then he/ she betray God.
Or in contrary, someone who was a street kid before .........and wow! now, he/she become an evangelist in hinterland, serving uncultured tribal groups.

Some arrogant people say that they've served God for years. But if we ask them whether they ever speak with God or not they will look at us as an insane people... There are people never want to go to church or read the Bible or join a Bible study ...suddenly...become the closest people to God. They deliver God's message which they received directly.

Now, let's be introspective, what kind of Christian are we??

You and I can know it by seeing our relation with God. Our God is not a dead God. Our God is a living God, because He can talk to us. So, to classify what kind of Christian are we, look at our relation with The Creator.

This is what Bible says as '... a saved secret for centuries....’. God gives His Spirit to us. Only we are (Christian) who can have a direct relation with God, because He lives in us. God is ‘Spirit’, so something that could relate with God's Spirit is our spirit. When we encounter with God at the very first, God gives us a 'new spirit'. And so with this 'new spirit' we could have relation with Him.
