We found this in the archives today and had to share. Back in 1994, Paul Stender and some friends set a world record for the longest snowmobile endurance ride, traveling 1700 miles in 24 hours! They held that record until up to this year-a tremendous 18 years before somebody else had the willingness to get frostbite in the name of snowmobile glory!

Back when I first built the jet powered outhouse in 2001, legendary promoter for Charlotte Motor Speedway, Humpy Wheeler, heard about my crazy idea to entertain the fans and wanted to be the first to book it into a show. Here was a guy who knew how to keep the entertainment fresh for his fans. As a guy who is in the business of building and driving entertainment machines such as jet powered toilets, school buses that breath fire, and 400 mph trucks, I too know a thing or two about reinventing the wheel for the motorsport fan.

People today have seen it all. With all the special effects available on tv, it takes a lot to impress the average Joe sitting in the bleachers. Good thing for me I have a School Bus that blows out eighty foot fireballs! No special effects about it-its all real fuel going up in flames, thrown out the back of the afterburner of a jet engine!

Our souped-up school bus and burrito bomber outhouse are sometimes the precursor to the main event, other nights they are the main attraction. Great promoters like the legendary Humpy Wheeler knew what it took to fill the stands-something unexpected and extraordinary! Since that first run in 2001, that crazy little contraption has been seen on numerous tv shows, in books, on the news in dozens of different languages around the world! Legendary crew chief and former NASCAR team owner Ray Evernham even voted our jet school bus the top spot on the top ten countdown on SPEED TV’s Speed Center Wow Factor in 2011! All thanks to Humpy Wheeler for giving me a shot.

To all out there reading lately about our Jet Impala, you may have noticed a big error started by a reporter and fueled by blogs….The Jet School Bus DOES NOT have a top speed of 750 MPH (A foreign article used 750 KM/HR…also incorrect) Amazing how a reporting typo spreads across the internet! For you yanks, our Jet Bus top speed still stands at 367 MPH, best run ever on 12,000 foot runway at Biggs Airfield in Texas.

He voted it the top spot on the top ten countdown on SPEED TV’s Speed Center Wow Factor! We were wowed-it beat out some pretty stiff competition of endos and explosions!
