Music is like a drug; when you hear it, you have a vision. And that vision can change over time or remain the same. You know, that first time you’re in love and you hear a love song and every time you think about it you have that vision of your special someone. And then two years later, after you broke up, you’re at the bar. And you hear that song and you go,

Music is a powerful force. It has an amazing way of uncovering hidden emotions in people. Different genres of music elicit certain feelings, but all music affects our emotions in some way or another. Normally, we choose to listen to music which complements our mood. Happy, angry, sad, lovesick, or whatever your mood may be, songs can either brighten your day or pull you into a state of darkness.

Though music is my inspiration, it is occasionally my source of depression. I may be the World's Worst Singer, but when it comes to crying along with sappy love songs, I am number one.

We all tend to listen to sad music when we are feeling low, but in the end we are only deepening our sorrow. Next time you are feeling down and out, enlighten yourself with a happy song!

I took this picture out the window of my flight from Orlando to Pensacola today. Even though I have been traveling a lot lately, plane rides are still a thrill to me. As I sat in my seat, staring out the window, I thought of all the the unlimited possibilities in the world and I came to a very important realization. There is a world of opportunity awaiting us all, we just need to open our eyes.

Next time you are on a plane, don't nap, read or close your window shade for the entire ride. Instead, take the opportunity to look out your window and embrace the beauty of the world.

Life is a beautiful struggle, but most importantly, it is beautiful.

But there is something more. What you see out the window of a plane is raw footage. It lacks a point of view. It has no narrative or sound track. And we're all glad about that, because the last thing anyone wants on a plane is drama.

Holidays are supposed to be a time of love, joy and celebrations, but for some people it can be a very lonely time. With the holiday season just around the corner, don't be a victim of the holiday blues. Embrace your loneliness!

This time last year everything was different. I was in a relationship throughout the entire season, from Halloween to New Years. I had a boyfriend to carve pumpkins and bake holiday treats with, a date for all the parties, someone to exchange gifts with, and most importantly, a New Year's kiss. But shortly after the holiday season was over, so was our relationship.

This year, everything about the holidays reminds me of last year's love, but I refuse to let it get me down. Of course it would be easy for me to sit around and dwell on my loneliness, but what's the point? You can only truly be happy if you let go of your past. Even though things didn't work out for us in the end, I learned valuable lessons from our relationship and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Use your past to illustrate a point and leave it behind. Relationship or not, make the most of this holiday season!

"Hold my hand while you cut me down" seems to be the motto of all too many relationships these days. Some people have the tendency to go from one bad romance to the next and unfortunately, when we confront them about it, our words go in one ear and out the other.

If you have ever tried to intervene in a bad relationship and couldn't get your point across, you are not alone! Relationship advice is hard to give because love is blind, hope is dark and people are oblivious to the red flags of their failing relationships.

It is typical for two people to stay in a dysfunctional relationship because of a great past and there is a slim to none chance that they will ever listen to your advice, even if they know their relationship is unhealthy. One day they will wake up and smell the roses, but until then, don't get discouraged. Just worry about yourself and ensure that you are not headed down the same path.

Advice is easier to take when you ask for it. So, if someone asked me if they should you give up on love or die trying? My advice would be to know when it is time to leave. Never hold on to something you know you would be better off letting go of.

Giving up doesn't always mean you are weak.
Sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go.

I have been ordering this same cup of coffee every morning since the first day of Fall. This is just one simple example of a comfort zone that I have become accustomed to.

We are all creatures of habit and tend to form comfort zones that lock us down into daily routines. But how comfortable are we really? Remaining inside the boundaries of our comfort zones holds us back from living our dreams and finding our true passion. Life and love lose their meaning when people get too comfortable.

When it comes to dating it is essential that you step out of your comfort zone and take a risk. Don't keep going back to the same person over and over again. There is a reason why it didn't work in the past.

Break your boundaries and you will find yourself to be much more comfortable in the end. Happiness begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Life's a gamble, so roll the dice!

By the time a woman realizes her mother was right, she has a daughter who thinks she's wrong.

Today is my mom’s birthday. My mom has been there for me through thick and thin. She has always believed in me, supported me and surprisingly enough, forgiven me for all the crazy things I've done. My mom has molded me into the woman and mother I am today and I am forever grateful.

Here's to you Mom, thanks for putting up with me!

Behind every crazy woman,

Psycho Exes. No doubt we've all had 'em. When relationships go from good to gone, it can be easy to have a meltdown.

To tell you the truth, I have lost my sanity in the desperation of a broken heart. From lashing out and getting various piercings (and even a full side tattoo!) to chopping my hair off and coloring it bright red, from permanent to temporary, I've pretty much done it all! Maybe I did these things to demonstrate my newfound freedom, or maybe I just did it to piss off my Ex. Either way, I think we can all relate.

Unfortunately, my post-breakup makeovers weren't the least of my worries. I also had to suffer the repercussions of drunk texts and calls and showing up at my Ex's house in the middle of the night, only to get the cops called on me.

Everyone deals with break ups differently but I think love makes us all a little crazy and as you know, the first step is admitting it. What crazy things have you done for the sake of love? Though I don't recommend sacrificing your reputation of sanity, I have to admit Psycho Ex stories are pretty entertaining. Share your stories in the comments below!

Last week I posted a poll asking whether you listen to your head or your heart. As anticipated, listening to your heart won by a long shot. But sometimes when it comes to relationships, it's not enough to rely solely on your heart.

You can’t just follow your heart. Your heart can be deceived. You have to lead your heart. -Fireproof

Love is blind. Check in with your heart but always listen to your head. While your heart corresponds to your wants, your head tells you what you need. And when it comes down to it, losing your mind for the sake of your heart isn't a requirement in love.

Don't be heartless, just rely on your heart less.

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them. I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back and it's not the end of the world. Don't expect love in return. Just wait for it to grow in their heart, but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.♥

There are some things in life you just can't change. Just because you love someone with all of your heart doesn't guarantee that they will love you back. This is just one of the downfalls of love. Sometimes people fall out of love, or maybe they were never truly in love to begin with. Regardless, when love fails, why wait forever?

The heart wrenching pain of drifting between dreams and reality and keeping your hopes high is all too familiar to me. I've been there and suffered through it. Believe me, there comes a time when you must learn to accept it and move on. People change but it is impossible to change them into the people you want them to be. Maybe one day they will love you again, maybe not. Either way, it is out of your hands.

Love is a beautiful thing, but it is much more beautiful when it is returned. Save your love for someone who can love you back with all of their heart. You deserve it.

One day you will find a love that will never give up on you.

Let's face it, we've all turned to alcohol at some point in our lives when everything seemed to be going wrong. When your broken, battered heart is tearing you apart, drowning your sorrows in alcohol seems like a great way to escape reality, but in the end all you are doing is creating more heartache for yourself. Love is intoxicating enough without adding alcohol into the mix.

Ironically, excessive drinking is a symptom of depression and depression is a result of excessive drinking. Many people drink to cope with stress and numb their emotions but just because you're numb doesn't mean your problems will be solved, if anything they will just get worse. Running away from your problems is a race you will never win so stop drinking your pain away.

If you want to find yourself calling your ex in the middle of the night crying and making a fool of yourself, have at it! But facing your problems sober will make you a stronger person.

That's the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.

Sometimes the best way to clear your mind is to release your emotions. Whether it be through speaking or writing, saying what you need to say to someone you love will lift a heavy burden from you're shoulders and provide you with a great sense of relief.

Of course this is much easier said than done. Many times people don't have the courage or strength to utter the words that are eating away at their emotions. If you have something you need to say but you haven't been able to build up the courage to say it, practice decluttering your mind and letting go by posting it anonymously to this blog.

I strongly believe that it is always better to say too much than to not say anything at all. Don't wait until it's too late because at that point there will be nothing left but regret..

If you stop looking for love, will love find you?

Last night, my friend and I were talking about her recent relationships and she made a good point when she said, "at the end of the day, 10 years from now, if I saw them married to someone else I wouldn't care. I would probably feel bad for the girl."

Nowadays there are so many people who are in relationships for the wrong reasons. Love is all about taking chances and trusting your intuitions, it is never something you should look or beg for. Don't get caught up in a bad romance just because you're lonely and feel like you need someone to be happy. Find happiness within yourself.

There are times when relationships are beneficial to your life, and times when you're better off alone. Never compromise your values and settle for less than you deserve just because that is what's available at the the time.

Let love find you.

There is no such thing as a happy ending in love because true love never ends but that doesn't mean you shouldn't let go. When love just isn't enough, letting go can be a way of saying I love you. If you loved once, you will love again. It takes time to find the right person but when they finally come along you will be thankful for your unanswered prayers.

Letting go of lost love can be an amazing learning experience for those who are able to find the good in bad situation. Relationships teach us a lot about ourselves and mature us emotionally. Instead of dwelling over the past and what you could'a, should'a, would'a done, give yourself a break! Look at the situation in a positive light. If it was meant to be, it would be, and if someone is ignorant enough to walk away from love, be smart enough to let them go.

Everything has a way of working itself out. Stay strong and have faith!

Welcome to my blog!

I am in love with words and infatuated by love. My heart has been ripped out of my chest, thrown to the ground and stomped on so I know how it is to feel desperately heartbroken and lonely but I get a little bit stronger every day.
