You can now find my posts at my new site: Getting Inky
I'll be updating the Atlas Quest link today as well.
I've loved my time at Blogger but feel that Wordpress has the features I want as I grow as a blogger. A neat, cleaner look with better control and accessibility on topics/categories/tags/labels.
Please come by and enjoy. However the clue to the letterbox makes it sound like it's a geocach instead. So which is it? Good question. I may just go looking for it to figure it out.
UPDATE:
I went searching for it but couldn't find it. :-( found the tree but not the X that marks the spot. MMCBBE12 is coming up in August and the theme for stamps this year is: "Something you don't know about me/us." And we're supposed to decorate our camp site with something related to who we are.
I'm having the HARDEST time with this. There's not much that people don't know about me. Where it’s not just me at the camp site, it could include my Mom & Daughter also. But what do Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-12778594529708096762012-02-15T11:16:00.000-05:002012-02-15T11:16:16.509-05:00New Name<!--[if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 <![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]>Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-34029789405160965442012-01-15T15:42:00.001-05:002012-01-15T15:43:37.018-05:00GS 100 PathwaysGS pathway stamps with the 100 year trefoil.

I know. But this post is about my letterboxing bag/pack. I've been searching for something to replace what I have, but in reality I already have one of the best bags I think. At this point I may just try to find a way to organize it better.
Here's the bag. It's an LL Bean Critter Pack I got at the Outlet in Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-64676089222466891362012-01-09T21:00:00.001-05:002012-01-13T08:18:50.917-05:00Letterboxing in the newsRecently there's been discussion on the boards regarding an article done by a non-letterboxer about letterboxing. Finding hidden treasure in MetroWestI've mulled over the story and watched the video and tried to not let other's opinions sway me regarding it. I think the author had good intent but poor follow through. The video made me cringe when I watched it. I love to share my Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-76092585543445967402011-11-22T20:53:00.000-05:002011-11-22T20:53:00.546-05:00StampsSo I have a lot of ideas for new stamps.

I just cannot afford to drive down to Saco alone. It totally bums me out.
I think I'm going to take a break from postals for a while just to finish up the rings I'm in and to work on carving and putting together new boxes for the spring.
Maybe I'll add making LTCs to my winter list of things to do.
Although in January Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-73386563891681866182011-11-11T18:51:00.000-05:002011-11-11T18:51:24.747-05:00LTCsMainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-53913133633435959042011-11-05T10:07:00.001-04:002011-12-22T14:59:01.767-05:00Lack of boxingI haven't been out boxing in a while. Just haven't had the time or the gas to travel around to do it. However I've been crazy busy with postals coming in & out of my place. I'm about at the end of my rings and should have a slow winter to work on LTCs. I'm about fried on postals at the moment. I love them and enjoy them but not when they ALL arrive at the same time. For Phazia's bachelorette party/trip/adventure.
The clue:

I am glad to report that Great Falls is still there & dry. Here are some pictures I took while out on my jaunt.

We went hunting for a box series, up a hill. I look a little ragged because I am. It was a hot day & the hill was steep. We didn't find the whole series but it was a nice walk up & down the "mountain".
No I'm not pissin'

(anything that gets mailed basically)
I've made my first one. Maine Lobster. Haven't figured out my second yet. I'm probably not going to post pics of these because I want them to be a surprise for people. Although I hardly have any followers or readers so it may not make a Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-14399805744774585992011-08-25T22:49:00.000-04:002011-08-25T22:49:58.839-04:00Soccer Mini SeriesFinally got around to making "inchies" stamps. This is the Soccer Mini Series that is a traveling series for youth soccer. Currently my boss at work has it at home for her daughter for soccer season. She's setting them up as night boxes in her field. She bought little containers & stick on reflectors.

Here we come.... There we were... LOLHeading down to the low key Maine Camping event.... :-)
Not so low key... lots of boxes & lots of peeps.
Jummpin Jee. It was crazy boxers all over the place.
I got to meet some AWESOME people this weekend. I tried to not overwhelm my self with having to get EVERY single box.
Thank you everyone for being so nice & open and accommodating.

I took them to a couple of series that Dream Seeker planted recently. First one I had already done with MissMae & Phazia. I let VTerinME do it on her own (mostly). She did well.
They dropped me off & went to do the turtles & grabbed another one of mine & have supper. Amazing in it's self that I'm actually going camping. I'm VERY excited for this camping trip to Thomas Point Beach for the Maine Camping letterboxing event.
Every time I check there seems to be more people signed up to attend this event. I have a feeling it's going to be a tad overwhelming at moments, with lots Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0Thomas Point Beach, Brunswick, ME 04011, USA43.896879299999988 -69.89261390000001543.894794799999985 -69.894592400000022 43.89896379999999 -69.890635400000008tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-63131639907494747222011-07-24T21:20:00.001-04:002011-07-24T21:20:53.703-04:00Balloon StampsTwo hot air balloon stamps arrived in the mail this weekend. It was like Christmas opening my mail. I loved it. I cannot wait to see all of the others as well.
Sea Maid sent me Breezy and Fuchsia Fairydust sent me Up Up & Away. Phazia is working on a couple of stamps. I also got MissMae & VTersMom to agree to carve a Hot Air Balloon stamp. *happy face*Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-25109528971351238672011-07-22T10:59:00.000-04:002011-07-22T10:59:38.095-04:00Beaver Brook: DENIEDBeaver Brook denied my request to plant boxes there. Truly unfortunate for both of us. I'm sad. So I guess I'll move on to the next plant opportunity. Which is..... ?
This little bump in the road has got me thinking about how to approach businesses & people for permission to plant. Also how to plant & what to plant in.
I'm feeling a little deflated today, not just Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-81178085894181552752011-07-16T15:22:00.001-04:002011-07-16T15:24:04.323-04:00Plotting & PlanningI have made a request to the AQ community for some hot air balloon stamps. These will be for the 20th Annual Great Falls Balloon Festival in 2012. Here's the tracker for it. I'm very excited the first carved stamp should be arriving next week. As of today there are 17 people signed up to carve stamps.
The next step a year from now will be to plant these stamps in the L/A area for the Mainer Chickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03609679030655497806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1565216422325112702.post-15745081388237898562011-07-09T23:05:00.001-04:002011-07-09T23:05:24.688-04:00Recently...What have I been up to lately?
The first weekend of June we took the girls to Boothbay & did some Letterboxing before/after our trip to the aquarium. This is the crew getting a box in Brunswick.
After fraps at Fat Boy we got a stamp.
I signed up for the August camping at TPB and surprisingly looking forward to it.
