Ok! InfiniteGamesGuru's FIRST ever post has arrived! I have decided to start with a game that has been released recently on XBOX 360 called Infinite Undiscovery. The company behind this RPG release is Square Enix, a name I'm sure all you gaming fans out there are very familiar with. Two words should spring to mind..... Final Fantasy!

The Story....
This game has a deeply engrossing plot. various twist and turns and enough depth to keep you interested. You actually begin to care about some of the characters introduced to the plot over time which gives you the motivation to see the game through to the end.

The plot revolves around one key feature..... the moon. The moon has the power to bless the planets inhabitants with mystical blessings. Any child born when the moon is shining brightly will receive a Glyph, which in turn grants them abilities and powers. Those born when the moon is dark, are left with the limitations of normal humans and are looked down upon and cast out by the lucky ones who bear glyphs. The villain in this engrossing plot is only known as 'The Dreadknight'. He is the leader of a powerful organization called 'The Order Of Chains' who's objective is to ensnare the moon with chains and bring it crashing down, so he can get closer to it in the hope of harnessing more of its power.

The Review....

I loved Infinite Undiscovery from the moment I riped the disc out of its packaging, to the moment I completed it. It is a beautiful game with jaw dropping graphics, captivating characters and a great storyline. I am always hesitant when starting a new RPG game simply because I grew up playing games that set the bar of expectation extremely high. Games such as Final Fantasy, Shadow Hearts, Lagaia Duel Saga and Lost Odyssey to name but a few. One thing all those RPG's have in common is the much loved and sometimes sorely missed Turn-Based combat style which is slowly and unfortunately being replayed by the more commonly used run and slash format that most RPGs have began adopting, Infinite Undiscovery is one of these games. Saying that, this game still didn't fail to impress me with its fluid, robust and exciting fighting style. As you progress you begin to utilize some amazing skills which are a beauty to look at no matter how many times you use them against your enemy's. I only found one issue with the interface/control setup in this game, which was the way the camera adjusted to your enemy's movements. Some enemy's that can fly or perhaps move too fast will easily drift off your screen and attack you from angles you cant even see, leaving you swinging at nothing but cool breeze for 5-10seconds at a time. This is a rare occurrence so its nothing that should put you off buying the game, just something to keep in mind.
The main character is portrayed in a similar way to a lot of RPG 'heroes' are portrayed at first, weak, feeble and insecure. Eventually, with your help of course, he grows as a person and becomes the head strong, never give up type of character many of us strive to be in our real life's. Throughout the game you get a lot of choice on who you wish to fight alongside your main character. A cool feature when it comes to selecting the characters to fight, is that even the ones that are left out collect experience too, although at a reduced rate. Of course, only the main selection of characters will ever achieve there full potential, so starting the game over and switching who you choose to fight on a regular basis adds replay value to the game, driving you to find out which characters gain what skills at different stages of development. At some point in the game you can also choose a secoundary team that will fight alongside your main team, which is controlled by the surprisingly inept AI.

The story was incredible and I would not change a thing about it. It kept me in suspense and desperate to know what would happen next. RPG's are famed for there intriguing and submersive plots but some of recent times have failed to deliver. This was not the case with Infinite Undiscovery. Flashy attacks and cool effects are not good enough to keep any true hardcore gamer happy. Square Enix clearly kept that in mind with this project and delivered an all round incredible game. My one complaint, is simply that the game was too short, or perhaps they just don't expect a customer to spend 20 hours playing there games in one stretch.... guess I cant really blame them.

Conclusion....
To round things up, I give this game an overall score of 8/10. This is a must buy for any gamers collection so pick it up if you haven't already! The beautiful graphics, engrossing story line, variety of characters and refreshing fighting style makes this game well worth a play through or two.
