Google Image Search is a search service which allows users to search the web for image content. The keywords for the image search are based on the filename “Alt tag” of the image, the link text pointing to the image, and text adjacent to the image. When the thumbnail is click by the user, the image is displayed in a frame at the top of the page and the website on which that image was found is displayed below it, making it easier to see from where the image is coming.

How To Load Your Blogger Blog Faster

Posts

Your blog's load time can be affected by the number of posts you display on your main page. You can easily edit the number of posts displayed of the main page from the Settings l Formatting tab. You can then select the number of posts you want to display on the main page. We recommend displaying 10 or fewer posts on the main page.

Third Party JavaScript and Links

For optimal blog load speed, we recommend using Google/Blogger widgets, JavaScript and links. However, if you need to use third party JavaScript and links, your blog will load much faster if you put all JavaScript at the bottom of your blog. If you have third party JavaScript and links in your sidebar, put them in at the bottom of the sidebar.

Images and Media

The more images, videos and other multi-media you have on your blog the longer it will take to load. However, images and other multimedia are important to attracting users to your blog, so it is important to optimize the load speed of your images and media. Here are few tips to increase the load speed of your media:

Decrease the size of your images or use thumbnails that link to the full-size image.

If you use third party images, consider uploading them to Picasa Web Albums via the Blogger post editor.

If you have a larger number of images to display, you can upload all your images (from a vacation or event) to a Picasa Web Album and link to the album in your post or sidebar.

Other suggestions:

If you've added any custom CSS to your blog, make sure you put it at the top of the page.

The most important content of your blog that catches readers attention should load the quickest. To help identify which items are taking the longest to load you can use Stopwatch. To use Stopwatch, enter your blog's URL into the text box and click "Start StopWatch". Stopwatch will then open your blog in a frame and will record the time it takes for everything on your blog to load, including images, videos, widgets, etc. Take note of the items that take the longest to load and modify them appropriately using our suggestions.

Write the information in the page as if you were talking in face to face, it’s a way of being conversational to them. Discuss also the benefits that they can get while reading your posts and digging deeper in your previous posts.

Placing More Than One Ad Unit In Adsense

In blogging, one of the main concerns in the overall picture of your blog is ads layout. Every now and then you try to experiment on new ideas and things to be added and then we examine what really does work and does not.

In the case of Google Adsense, this maybe is a great alternative if a blog is not really your main site or one that you did not give a lot of attention, time improving its layout, working on link building, doing some good SEO and many other site optimizations.

If you're adding only one Adsense ad on your site, like Adsense for Content, this idea does not give you good response to your earnings in adsense. Try to figure out what ad placement on your site ad layout is effective or what banners or ads does not doing any good, then replace it with adsense ads.

I've been searching lately on one ad site (sulit.com.ph) and looking for "work at home jobs" to earn online working at home. Mostly of the ad posted are more on "paid to click" (PTC sites) or sites convincing people to join and pay before they earn. Many other alike programs are all over the net which offers the same work at home job.

SEO Tips - Do We Really Need Search Engine Optimization

Search engines, of course everybody knows what this is. When you ask someone who's not so familiar with the internet and ask what a search engine is, you probably get a response of Google, Yahoo or maybe Ask.com. I'll bet, Google is always the first in mention.

A Quick Review of Search Engines

Let's have a short review here of how does a search engine really works from my quick research. OK, Search engines do not really directly search the web. Each one of these engines searches a database of full text of web pages harvested by them automatically from billions of web pages residing on different servers around the world. When you're doing a web search or do some googling (the other term for searching or exploring) on the internet, search engines provides you with page links to other sites on your search results and when you click on a link, you are now actually retrieving the current page of that site from the server where it is hosted.

Now, search engine optimization (SEO). Do we really need this optimization of a site? For serious bloggers and want to earn some income in blogging, no other answer but "yes." For other people who are writing on their blogs just for fun, probably will answer "no," because these people do not actually bother about SEO thing.

The Good and Bad Schemes of SEO

Search engine optimzation can be a good thing or a bad thing. For example, if you have a blog and put in place some monitization thing around your blog. You want to make sure that people can find your blog and one way of reaching them is through search engines. And if you want to be indexed and put your blog link on the top first page of a search results, you must do some extensive blog optimization.

a. The Good Thing

There are many ways we can do optimization. One is at Google Webmaster Tool where you can create sitemaps so that google can better "crawl" or "spider" (search engine computer robots) the content on your site. Of course, the other optimization basics which are very important strategy to apply on a page or blog are to optimize the tag, title, content and placement of links. If a blog is properly optimized, it became a search engine machine friendly, readability or indexability. The "white hat SEO" techniques are the good one and used by people who's primarily goal is creating a good quality website.

b. The Bad Thing

The bad thing in search engine optimization are the ones they call "black hat" SEO. These are search engine manipulation techniques and certainly not a good strategy to apply. Web sites that are doing these practices are usually the ones always on top of the search, which is good for them if they were not noticed by the search engines doing some bad optimization.

So, do we really need search engine optimization? It will now depend on the purpose of the site or blog.

I just finished watching this video from a link on Yaro Starak's blog about 10 traffic tips of John Reese on his Traffic Secrets 2.0 video. The presentation of the video is very professional with very cool technical background presentation.

I've learned a lot upon viewing the video. He calls these ten traffic secrets as "Result Detection" techniques. This is simply just tapping into the power of the internet, figuring all the techniques that are working from other people's site that allows them to gain more positive results. It's basically understanding what these techniques are, doing it in a different way and keep on improving upon what they already had been using.

All I know is that these are popular and good sites until I saw the video. It allows people to understand how people sites take advantage from their services to get more traffic.

These are just some of the practical methods we can apply, but are most valuable techniques to gain more traffic on our sites.

Bloggers like to read comments which are helpful and informative. If you write an intelligent comment, more readers will likely visit your site and that is more traffic coming in your blog. Don't write things like "nice blog" or "great post."

Almost all of the internet users know the technology of email, thus it's still very useful and helpful. This is one of the ways to keep in touch with your readers.

4. Join social network sites.
Social network sites are everywhere. This is where people gather online to share experience, ideas, interests, meeting new friends, and communicate with others like never before.
Many bloggers are taking advantage of using social networks for a fact that these sites have many online users, millions of users, and still growing every single day.

5. Be involved in Forums.
Forums are still popular today in interacting with fellow online users. People join in forums to find answers to their problems and share their knowledge or opinions about certain topic. Join in the discussion related to your niche and get involved in the conversation with a link on your forum signature.

These are mostly the options for people just starting out in blogging. For the pros, they have many other options open for them like advertising the new site to their other established sites. Social Network StumbleUpon - A Great Source of Free Traffic

There is this social network out there called StumbleUpon and it's really interesting how this social network can be a great source of traffic to your site. I've been a member of this site since about 3 months ago, but I don't really give much interest of using it. I know maybe some of you may had been using this, but I will share here what I understand about StumbleUpon and how to use this social network.

The idea is to install a toolbar in your browser and basically during the course of your search at StumbleUpon browser, you'd be able to view sites based on your favorite categories. If you like the site, then you can voter for it by simply hitting the "thumbs up" button or "thumbs down" button if you don't like the site. As you continue to do this, StumbleUpon also gets smarter and starts to know what kind of websites you do like and don't like.

If you have happen to stumble upon a site that you really do like, aside from giving the site a vote, you can also view the reviews of other people about the site. Besides, if you want your friends to also look at the great site you've just found, you can send this using the "send to" >email address option and they will receive an invitation to check the cool site you stumble. It is basically some sort of recommending a site of your favorite.

I have actually had read some sites talking about this social network StumbleUpon and saying that by submitting your pages having a very good content labeling with appropriate keywords can get a very good amount of traffic directed to your blog. But, for your page to be able to rise to the top of a category, your page or site must gain more votes and more reviews.

This could be a social network that can drive tons of website traffic and maybe one of the most generative in terms of having a striking traffic results at no cost. Of course, there are other sites alike you can use like Myspace, Facebook and Digg. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else''s blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader - you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that''s about as far you went when it comes to finding readers.Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers.

These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major "pillar" articles. A pillar article is usually a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good "how-to" lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn''t news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don''t have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need an easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that''s the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you''ve done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people''s blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger''s article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry - it''s sort of like your blog telling someone else''s blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important - it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival enjoy a spike in new readers.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it''s so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it''s worth the effort. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn''t bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it''s worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have - your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your "Resource Box". You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I''ve listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won''t stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers.

When writing articles, we need some connection to the readers’ in order for them to stay more and keep on reading the whole article. We must always remember that we are writing for them and that they are our audience. If we provide them a better post to read, they might offer some loyalty to keep coming back and read more on your future posts. As what I am stressing in my previous post that it doesn’t matter how long or short the content is, but the value or the quality of its content must render something desirable to the readers. If a blog post is short, it must be to the point and have substance.

People are reading your posts because they find it very informative, but beside from being informative, it should also be entertaining. Entertaining means making readers feel that they have some fun reading aside from getting valuable information.

Six ways to entertain your readers:

1. Entertain them by having an attractive title or headline, a very good introduction and a noteworthy conclusion.

2. Make the body of your post more interesting and giving readers some meaty information.

3. Entertain by putting some crazy but true stories.

4. Add some interesting graphics like pictures related to the article or embed videos for them to view. There are lot of ingenious videos you can find on YouTube and other video hosting sites.

5. Add sounds like putting background music, if you think it will add pleasure to readers while reading, but it is also annoying. You can also embed music player.

6. Slip a joke somewhere in the body of your article, but still in sync with the topic.

This list of ideas is just few ways to entertain your readers. I’m sure you have also your own ways of doing this. Entertaining your visitors or readers is just simply keeping them enough time to read through the entire article, click and read on your previous posts, and convinces them to come back for another read.

Let’s make our post more interesting, not just writing something, we must also entertain. Make it fun. Supplying something different makes a blog more than what it is.

Firefox Guinness World Record Attempt

Firefox is attempting to set a world record for the most downloaded software within 24 hour period. This download is for the release of their new Firefox 3. They don't have a definite date for the download day, but it will be in June.

Take part on this record day by simply downloading Firefox 3 as soon as it is available and get a customized certificate. If Firefox 2 launch has 1.6 million downloads, they are aiming now up to 5 million downloads. Mozilla wants as many participants to pledge and download it in the first 24 hours of its availability.

The United States, so far, has the greatest numbers of people pledge for the download with over 60,000 pledges.

Monetize Blog with Adsense or Bidvertiser

In the past two days I had fun and busy watching video on YouTube and other video sites. I had viewed over 20 videos about blogging and about making money online. I just want to know how these people are doing and what kind of videos they are posting to these sites.

I came across to this video in which the owner talked about his experience in his websites using Ad placement. He made a comparison between these two ad publishing Bidvertiser and Google Adsense. In his video, he is only stating his one and a half month experience on these two ad placement.

BIDVERTISER vs. GOOGLE ADSENSE VIDEO

He has pretty good websites and had up to 300+ unique visitors per day and with pretty good interesting content. He use Bidvertiser because it tranfers money to Paypal with very low payout of just $10 compared to $100 in case of Adsense. But with Adsense he does all the optimization and read many online tutorials. Make those ads blends to the theme of his websites.

After one and a half month of using the two he notice a big difference in the total earnings for the whole period between the two. Bidvertiser only earns him $5 and feel terrible on the result. In Adsense he earns $88. What a huge difference. Why such a big difference?

His assessment:

Google Adsense searches your website and adds links to ad, which are related to your website content which makes more clicks on your readers.
Bidvertiser adds some stupid ads no one wants to click on.
He get $0.3 – $0.5 click per click on Adsense and $0.03 – $0.05 on Bidvertiser.
Bidvertiser pays 10 times less than Adsense.

BIDVERTISER OR GOOGLE ADSENSE

1. The minimum payout from BidVertiser is $10 and pays via Paypal which money transfer is much quicker.

AdSense has a minimum payout of $100 and pays via check which takes more time to reach.

2. In Bidvertiser you can choose to have links opened in a separate window. This allows users to stay on your website and users can manually approve ads.

Adsense don’t have this feature.

5. In Bidvertiser you can see a template when creating ads to see what the ad will look like. Pays bit less per click.

In AdSense you have to click on a separate link. AdSense pays more per click.
