Bering are a French brand who not everyone, us included, knew much about up until now. We're impressed with the range, which includes a lot of CE Approved clothing. Bering submit jackets, trousers and gloves to be tested for various safety aspects, as well as how they fit - part of the gloves test is making sure the gloves stay on in a tumble.

To celebrate the new range, which will be rolling out across all stores over the next month, we're giving away a choice of jackets to one lucky Club Infinity member at the end of October. We have two mens jackets to choose from , the Bering Chino and Dark jackets, which are both waterproof and are £179.99. We'll add a ladies to the selection too - as soon as we have them!

We opened our new Norwich store on Saturday and after lots of hard work and a long day on Thursday (with one of us having a long day on Saturday too I might add), the former HG store opened after only being closed for a few days.

Forcefield Pro Shirt - Back

We have a couple of new products with Forcefield's new M15 back protector fitted, this shirt also has CE Approved elbow and shoulder armour, as well as more protection on the chest.

Just like the Pro L2k, the M15 is what's known as a Level 2 back protector (it passes the EN1621-2 Level 2 test), which in the real world means it offers more protection than a Level 1 back protector. M15 back protectors are thinner than the Pro L2K too, whilst still retaining the Repeat Performance Technology - so the armour still does it job even after it's taken multiple impacts.

Forcefield have attached all this armour to a BeCool shirt, the same material they use for their base layers, which uses clever fibres to drag away heat and moisture, to keep you cool and dry. All the armour is removable, and the shirt is machine washable.

So why might you still want a Pro L2K? The M15 back protector is made to fit into a shirt, so it's the same length as the shirt - a Pro L2K uses a harness, so it can cover more of the lower back. Where the Pro Shirt and Racelite vests shine is in convenience - it's just a shirt with a zip - whilst still offering plenty of protection. We've knocked £20 off the price of V2 Riviera Diva helmets, an open face lid with built in sun visor, a great lid for scooter riders, £60 off Caberg V2 Road Pirat helmets (I know, that's how Caberg spell it though) and more deals on end of lines in individual stores. We've just had a HUGE delivery of HJC CL-ST helmets - more of the Sooni helmets we've had for a while, plus these Krave graphics which we think look great. We have really bought a lot of these, so we are pleased to be able to sell them at half price - when we last had them, they were £119.99 - so now they are just £59.99. CL-ST's fit really well and have a sculpted look to the shell, they're nicely finished and really are a nice piece of kit. There can't be much chance of there being a crash helmet on the market that's better for less than £100.

We've sold an awful lot of the CL-ST Sooni helmets, so much so that we've ran out of smaller sizes, but we've just had another delivery, and we're still selling these at half price.

2012 Season Clothing

Our stores are bursting at the seams right now with new gear, we're desperately trying to keep up adding thing to the website! Some of the highlights so far are from long-term favourites Dainese, but we're also seeing some great kit come in from new-ish brand Merlin, new-ish to us brand Ixon and the replacement for our best selling flip front helmet of all time has also hit the shelves.

If you read the bike press or most motorbike news sites, you probably heard about Frank Thomas' parent company, TSG, folding last year. We'd always been fans of Frank Thomas kit, so when some of the long term FT staff started a new company, Merlin Apparel, we knew they would be on to a winner. Our first range was very popular and we've now added quite a bit of their new products for 2012. The Route One kevlar jeans range was a huge hit for us and we've just (today!) had a delivery of their latest "Jefferson" kevlar jeans, a waxy blue/grey jean with DuPont kevlar lining in the knees and backside. We never seem to be done with going on about how well these fit, but at the end of the day, surely comfort is what Kevlar jeans are all about?

Caberg's latest flip front helmet, the Duke has arrived too, which is gradually replacing the Konda, which replaced the Trip...The Konda and the Trip have been two of our all-time best selling lids so the Duke has a lot to live up to. A completely new helmet, the Duke has a locking mechanism that holds the chin bar in the flipped position, and the helmet has passed both the CE standard for open and flip front helmets (the certificate tag on the chin strap has "P/J", if your flip only has "P" then it's only legal for road use in the closed position). Otherwise, you probably won't be surprised to read that the helmet has an internal sun visor, micro-lock fastening and a removable lining, all as you would expect from a Caberg Flip Front helmet, just a bit more up to date. Most of our stores have also had a new version of the V2R-R arrive too, again, one of our top selling helmets, this time a conventional full face, the new V2R-R Chrono is a classy looking feature packed helmet.

Lots of new Dainese clothing has arrived, mostly leathers, but we've added some new ST-TRQ Pro boot colours and we've topped up stock on a lot of our best sellers. All of the stores have had new gear arrive, and we're working on tailoring what our different stores stock based on what they've seen a demand for.

You can't go wrong with a black leather jacket though and we have two new, old style jackets in stock now, the R-Twin and the Newater. Either of them would go great with a pair of the Route One Jefferson jeans. More suits are arriving too, we've a limited number of Draken suits in a shorter leg, as well as Alien leather jeans, check with your local store for availability, but we should warn you, it's never easy to re-order Dainese stock so if you think any of this kit is just what you've been waiting for we suggest you don't leave it 'till later!

We've had small amounts of the Ixon ladies range in the past but we've taken a bit more of a plunge this year and we think you'll see why if you have a look at the range. Nice materials, good design, real attention to detail, specific ladies fit and loads of style make the range stand out. We are stocking some of the French brands' de rigueur (see what I did there?) pink ladies kit, but if that's not your thing, you'll be pleased to know Ixon haven't relied on "shrinking and pinking" to make their ladies motorbike clothing, jackets like the Diva Sport are subtly definitely not blokes jackets!

2012 Yamaha Demo Bikes

Nyall, our Sales Manager, has just sent through his list of 2012 Demonstrators. You might have noticed us mention that we have a Tmax 530 demo on our Facebook page, but we also have an FZ8, an R1 and an XJ6N for customers to try out.

For 2012, the Yamaha Tmax has a new 530cc engine and updated, sportier styling.
You might have switched off at the word "scooter", but if you've never ridden a maxi scooter, the Tmax is a revelation; decently quick and amazingly comfortable. If I were to pick a bike for a long daily commute like our Farnborough store manager Nigel makes (you might have seen his 120 000 mile R6 parked outside the store) this would be my bike of choice. We have finance deals on the whole Yamaha range right now, you can ride away a Tmax with a £99 deposit and 4 years 9.7% Representative APR. If you have a trade in or want to pay a bigger deposit, or pay back quicker, we can work out a great deal for you.

We have another middleweight on our demo fleet, another capable all rounder, the XJ6NA. We have some fantastic deals on the XJ6 and FZ8 range, with £99 deposits and 3 years 0% representative APR on the whole range. Our XJ6 is the ABS model, we think the XJ6 is a great first "big bike" and with the deals we have just now, if you're thinking about buying your first new, modern bike, it'd almost be rude not to have a ride on our demo!

The FZ8's sporting credentials have been recognised by the California Superbike School, who have added some FZ8's to their YZF-R6 hire bikes. With sporty power delivery, alloy beam frame, and a weight forward riding position, the Yamaha FZ8N is a mix of the handling of a 600cc bike and the torque of a litre bike. The chassis' beam frame, upside down forks and mono block brakes wouldn't look out of place on an R6; didn't the whole Streetfighter thing start with people taking the fairings off of sports-bikes...
FZ8's are also on the £99 deposit, 3 years 0% APR Representative finance deals, with more deals to be done!

Our final bike in the 2012 demo fleet is our YZF-R1. For 2012 Yamaha have updated the styling and added a slipper clutch, but the biggest change we've noticed is the price! Reductions on 2012 bikes have been backdated to our 2011 YZF-R1 stock too, and there are some amazing deals to be had.

Bultaco – The legendary Spanish Motorcycle Company.

Renowned for its incredible history and inspirational designs, Bultaco has become one of the most sought after motorcycle brands of all time.
The story begins in Spain 1944 when Pedro Permanyer and Francisco Bulto created the motorcycle brand Montesa. This was a pinnacle moment for the brand as it was introduced during a time when entrepreneurs began to emerge, seeking to break through the political barriers of the state.

Racing tournaments became popular and motorcyclists began sporting the brands causing competition. Montesa was proving to be successful in speed, trials and motocross competitions. By the 1950s, the brand was so cemented within the prominent European manufacturers, that its designs were celebrated by the Associació de Disseny Industrial del Foment de les Arts Decoratives (ADI-FAD).

Then in 1958, something happened that would change the history of Spanish motorcycling forever. Permanyer and José Luis Milá – Count of Montesa, announced to Bulto that they were to stop sporting activities and spend more time focusing on commercial models. As more motorcycle companies, including great Italian and English brands, were abandoning sporting activities and shifting towards commerciality, Permanyer and Mila argued that in order to maintain their reputation and position within the industry, they must also make amendments. Furthermore, the government of Spain unveiled The National Stabilization Plan in June 1959 which was very restrictive.
Feeling betrayed Bulto came to the conclusion that he would leave Montesa. He felt the decision of abandoning the competition at a time when the brand was doing particularly well in terms of popularity and financial growth, was an attack towards him, believing that they wanted him to leave his leadership role within the company.
Having no interest in continuing working at Montesa, he left the brand with no intention of returning or creating a new business. Yet on May 17 1958, a legend was born. Twelve faithful employees arranged a dinner with Bulto to discuss an exciting new business venture. Already willing to leave Montesa, the employees sat down with Bulto and created the most legendary Spanish Motorcycle Company, Bultaco.

The name of the brand combines the four letters of Sir Bultos surname with the last three of his nickname ‘Paco.’
On March 24 1959 Bulto launched his first bike, the road-going 125cc Bultaco Tralla 101.
Bultaco’s notable products include road racing, road, motocross and trial models. The brand has become so iconic that it has launched a variety of commercial merchandise including watches, helmets and clothing.

We've just had our YZF-R1 WGP 50th Anniversary Edition delivered and it's so gorgeous we want to tell everyone about it.

Lovely.

Yamaha have made a few special edition bikes to celebrate their 50th year in GP racing, with paintwork based on the Jorge Lorenzo and Bens Spies' 2011 MotoGP bikes in the classic white and red speed block colours. Each bike comes with a gift pack which includes a personalized certificate of ownership, signed by Lorenzo and Spies.

We've added some Akrapovic silencers and a tail tidy to our bike, but if you don't want those you don't need to have them - but if you hear the sound from our demo running the same silencer I think you probably would, it sounds amazing.

Magic numbers from Infinity at UK's biggest bike show

360 eggs, 62 bowls of porridge, 595 sandwiches and one 32oz steak; not the biggest breakfast order ever, it’s just some of the food it took to keep Infinity Motorcycles staff going at Motorcycle Live 2011.

Infinity – leading motorcycle clothing and accessories retailer – drafted in a team of 65 people to man the 420 square meter show stand.

Show organisers report that 112,197 visitors made the trip to Birmingham’s NEC for the event, a 14% increase on 2010, and although the Infinity team lost count pretty early on, a fair few of those visited the Infinity Motorcycles stand over the nine days.

Show-goers could choose from over 30 motorcycle clothing and accessory brands on the Infinity stand, and business was certainly brisk, as the Infinity sales team got through 52 till rolls over the nine days.

Popular items included the GoPro HD Motorsport Hero video camera - one customer bought no fewer than six, each worth £199. Extravagant yes, but by no means the biggest sale of the show, because one customer spent a whopping £6482.

Paul Lindsay, Infinty Motorcycles' online manager, said: “It’s fascinating to tot up the numbers after a show like the NEC. I’d say most visitors don’t really think about just much goes into it. It takes dozens of people many weeks to prepare; designing and building the stand, organising what’s going to be on it and who’s going to work it, and getting everything and everyone there of course. It’s a logistical nightmare, but it’s great when it all comes together. We had a great show this year, lots of people called by the stand, the atmosphere was fantastic and we got a few people sorted out with kit to use in the new riding season too.”

We all love riding our bikes, but sometimes it’s difficult to know where to ride them; to a local landmark, a breathtaking viewpoint, a cracking café?

There are so many great biking destinations we all know about, but there are even more hidden gems we don’t. So at so Infinity we want you to get riding, get snapping and get sharing to help inspire everyone to get out and enjoy riding more.

To get involved all you have to do is ride to your favourite destination, take a picture of your bike there (with or without you), and upload it to our Facebook page. Tell the world where your destination is and why you think it’s worth riding there. Here's an example from our mate Dan;

“This is my 2009 Royal Enfield Classic pictured outside Goodwood, but this picture could almost be taken 50 years earlier! Plenty of great roads around the nearby South Downs and you're close to the Channel coast too.”

Yes, that's 100 000 Miles!

Infinity Motorcycles' store manager Nigel Armstrong has ‘clocked the ton’ on his Yamaha R6 this month, reaching an impressive 100,000 miles from new.

Nigel, who manages Infinity’s clothing and accessory store in Farnborough, opted for a company bike in 2004, and has ridden his R6 in all temperatures and conditions, throughout the seasons, during his daily duties for Infinity and in his leisure time too. Incredibly he has only had to perform routine servicing and replace consumables, such as the tyres, chain and sprockets on the 600cc Yamaha.

Nigel has fared just as well considering the time he’s spent in the saddle and the conditions he’s endured. He puts the achievement squarely down to his choice of rider clothing:

“I’ve always stuck to the quality brands, like Rukka. Although the purchase price is a little higher, it’s well worth the extra for the quality, the features and the longevity you get. ”
