As some of you may have noticed we haven't really been posting to this blog much in recent times.

So big news, this is going to be our last post and we have a brand new blog

Throughout the last 6 months Justine and I have been busily working on a new direction for our Photography and we are pleased to advise that we have changed the name of our studio to XSiGHT Photography and Video.

XSiGHT has established studios in Melbourne, Sydney and Sacramento in the USA and we feel privileged to be invited into the XSiGHT fold.

Now as the owners of XSiGHT Brisbane we have some fantastic new products and a brand new studio in Norman Park and it has made such a difference to everything that we do. We have some wonderful and talented staff really working hard and producing some great results.

The change of name has come about for many reasons one including an unfortunate incident with Matt Lee from Infinity Photography taking legal action against us for breach of trademark. On a positive note, it was really just good timing and made us look at what else we could do. So this is not the end of infinity studios by any means as we still have lots of wonderful brides and grooms to photograph.

Another reason for our change to XSiGHT is that it was an opportunity too hard to pass by. The change of name and our direction in photography has been one of the most amazing outcomes for us. We are now involved with some of the most talented photographers in the world.

As the new name suggests we now also do wedding video so if you are interested in having your video for your wedding send us an email!!

We will also be taking a more stronger focus in 2009 on portrait photography because this is another love of mine and we are looking forward to doing this in conjunction with weddings, if you still haven't thought about what to get as a gift for christmas for your loved ones how about a portrait sitting! Stay tuned to our new blog for further details on our portrait sessions.

We have lots of up and coming magazines coming out including a bridal shoot that we did for Ideal Brides. Brisbane brides will also hit the shelves any day now and there is a few more magazines coming out in Jan and Feb.

2008 was just a massive year for us and I think that 2009 will be even bigger with what we have planned.

To all the people that have supported Infinity Studios over the last few years thankyou thankyou thankyou!! Without you all we wouldn’t be in the position that we are today.

Queensland Brides magazine - Front Cover Search

Queensland Brides is once again searching the state to find a real life bride to grace the cover of their Winter 2009 edition - and we need your help!

Engaged girls from all over Queensland are invited to enter online by answering three simple questions, providing their full contact details and submitting three recent photos of themselves.

Ten semi-finalists will be chosen from all entries and uploaded to the magazine's website, where the public is invited to view and vote for their favourite potential cover girls. The three entrants with the most amount of votes will go on to become the finalists for judging by a Queensland Brides panel.

The inaugural search held last year attracted lots of great media attention and we received entries from all over Queensland. Our winner was Kalico-Pearl from Thursday Island who featured on the Winter 2008 edition.

Entry is now open and closes 2nd February 2009.
Winner will feature on the cover of the Winter edition to be released in May 2009.

Rob & Tanya's wedding 10th Oct 2008

We met up with Rob and Tanya for their wedding at Boulevarde Gardens. The day was one of those really heavy rainy stormy days that started off the wet weather last month. The sky was very moody and fantastic for photography, but with the ceremony starting at 4:45pm we were racing against what was left of the sun going down with the storm. The Bridal party were a bunch of fun to work with and we got the job done in no time.

Lorelene & Rob's engagement session

I met with Lorelene and Rob for their engagement photos last week. Lorelene & Rob are getting married next year, and just happened to pick my wedding anniversary to get married! I don't know what it is but I always seem to have a wedding on my anniversary! Lorelene is another one of our Wedding Central Brides, and I have to say that she is very photogenic! look at those eyes!

Kristen & Nathan's engagement shoot

Ben met up with Kristen & Nathan for their enagement shoot last week. These guys are getting married in December and were wanting some photos at University of QLD at St Lucia, particularly around the Jacaranda trees. Kristen is another one on our Wedding Central Brides who has been waiting along time for her wedding to come.

We have been so busy over the last few months it has really been a huge blur... a pretty good blur but still doesn't time just fly. It is nearly Christmas and then we will be into another massive wedding season again.. In fact March next year is the most bookings we have had in a month ever... there is going to be some fantastic weddings which I can't wait to share with everyone.

Speaking of Christmas if you are can't think about what to get your loved one for Christmas how about a voucher for some portrait photography!!! Sarah & Dean's Wedding - 4th Oct 2008

Both Sarah and Dean were getting ready at the same hotel in the city, so it made our job easy meeting up with both of them at the same place. We met up with Dean and the boys first for a few photos, and then ventured a few floors up to Sarah and the girls. Danielle Robinson was just finishing off her tremendous job on the girls make up and they all looked stunning. The bridesmaids were all ready to help sarah get into her dress but there was no need because Sarah's Dad had it covered, lacing up the back of her dress with great precision. After a few photos with the girls, it was time to head over to Indooroopilly Golf Course for the ceremony and reception. We stayed until the end of the reception and Sarah and Deans guests had a great time dancing and drinking until very late. After the reception we headed into the city for some night photos with Sarah and Dean outside the Marriott where they were staying for the evening.

Laurel & Jeff's wedding (with Matt) - 4th oct 2008

Starting the day at the boys house (as we do), Jade and myself wandered in on the Jeff and the lads playing pool and just being super cool. In between taking photos and chasing the dogs up the street (sorry Val), it was soon time to meet up with Laurel and the girls.
Laurel was getting ready at hers and Jeff's place which looked fantastic, as the reception was being held here so everyone had put heaps of time into getting it ready.
Some more photos and off to the ceremony.
The weather stayed perfect for their outdoor ceremony and continued that way for the rest of the afternoon for our trip out to Cleveland Point.
It was a really relaxing day and to be hanging out at the water watching the sunset was the icing on the (wedding) cake. (sorry that was a bad pun!)

Sarah & Nic - 19th Sept 2008

Sarah & Nic were married at Avica wedding resort on the Gold Coast. We started with the boys in their hotel room at the resort, before long they were ready to leave to go to the Helicopter launch pad as they were travelling by Helicopter to the ceremony. We then headed down to meet the girls in their hair and makeup suite, where we had alot of fun!

Sarah arrived to the ceremony by horse and carriage to a teary Nic. Once the ceremony was over, we headed around the resort for a few photos. Thanks to Nic and Sarah for a great day, we had a blast!

The Twins part two - Leisa & Brad's wedding 28th Sept 2008

So after a massive day on the Saturday with Stacey & Andrew getting married and Lisa and Brad being in their bridal party, they all had to get up early to do it all over again. This time the tables were turned and Leisa and Brad were the Bride and Groom and Stacey and Andrew were part of the bridal party.

Brad & Leisa actually met each other first out of the two couples. It certainly was a feeling of De Ja Vu when we turned up at the same townhouse to photograph the boys. When we had finished photographing the girls, we travelled into the Riverview Hotel on the River at Hamilton. They married by the pool at the hotel, with the same area being transformed into the reception later on in the day. While this was happening, we went for a drive to the powerhouse for some photos.

Guys it has been an absolute pleasure working with you all, I am so pleased that we had the opportunity to be apart of such an event.

The Twins Part one - Stacey & Andrews wedding 27th Sept 2008

This weekend was one that we had been looking forward to for quite a while. Stacey and Andrew were getting married, but with a little twist. Staceys twin sister Leisa was also getting married this weekend, but to Andrew's brother Brad. So we have twin sisters marrying brothers on the same weekend. Channel Seven's Today Tonight had already been to see them a few months earlier to do a story on the rare scenario.

We started off with the boys at the town house where Brad and Leisa live, the boys were all in great spirits and watching Borat, a movie close to Bens heart. When we had finished with the Boys, we went to the townhouse next door where Stacey & Andrew live. Yes both couples live next door to each other! Stacey was very very excited and bouncing off the walls!

With the ceremony at Wynnum, we headed to the water afterwards for a few photos. We just happened to run into our daughters playing with their Grandmother at the beach, something that wasn't planned. After some more fun at Teneriffe, we then headed to Gambaro's where their reception was being held.

Thanks Stacey and Andrew for allowing us to be a part of such a rare occasion, we had heaps of fun.

When we had finished at Gambaro's we caught up with Matt and Jade who had also just finished another wedding at Gambaro's. This day was so full of bizarre uncanny situations!

Leonie & Adam's wedding - 27th Sept 2008

When Jade and I turned up at the Marriot where Adam and the boys were getting ready, they were chilling out to some Gomez. The whole place was filled with total calm, no panicking, no rushing everything was running sweetly. This continued for the whole day, it was a perfect atmosphere.
After we had finished with the boys, we caught the lift down to the girls room (they were also at the Marriot). We wandered the hotel for a bit taking photos before it was time to move on to the ceremony.
The ceremony was held at Latrobe Chapel, which is a cool little chapel above Paddington.
Then we headed to the botanical gardens for some more shots and finally finishing up at Gambaros on Caxton Street for the reception.

Sophie and Shawn's wedding 20th Sept 2009

It was a long day for Ben & Jade, starting with the Boys out at Deagon. Sophie and Shawn were married in a little park near Nudgee beach. With little time for bridaly party photos, we had a few minutes out at the Horneybrook bridge before heading back to their reception. After their reception we then went into the city for some night photos.

Bec's maternity Session - 13th Sept 2008

WOW, This was the wedding of the year!! Jess and Nick live in Melbourne and had their wedding in Brisbane because Nicks family lives here. There were heaps guest from Melbourne and Sydney and even some international guests flew in.

Matt and I had quite an early start and a big day of shooting because the ceremony was at 11am and the reception didn't start until 6pm so we got to spend heaps of time going to a few different locations and doing some pretty great stuff.

Jess and Nick are the nicest couple you will ever meet and all of the bridal party were such a pleasure to photograph. Because they both flew in only a couple of days before the wedding we only did the engagement shoot a few days before hand but we will put those pics up shortly, The ceremony which was held at St Davids in Chelmer was beautiful, the homily that they had was so touching about marriage not being just the day but the rest of your life.

Jess and Nick you are going to have the most stunning album and I can't wait to get it all together for you both.

With half of Australia's photographers attending the August Exposure conference the other week, there were bound to be some happy snaps that popped up from the various shenanigans that took place over the week. Here is one of me and Toni Snell, my roomie. WE started the week off with a bang and partied a little too hard on the Monday night, its been a while since I had been out on a school night without children. Toni had a fixation with my Dolce Gabbana glasses (not to mention my iPhone!) and I must say they do suit you Toni! I couldn't see with out them, but maybe that was the Alcohol though ;-)I had a blast, can't wait till next year!

Candice & Alan wedding 30th August 2008

We travelled to the gold coast for Candice and Alan's wedding. We met with Alan and the boys first off at Alan's parent's house situated in surfers paradise on the canals. What an amazing view! Alan and the boys we chilling out by the pool with a few beverages.
When we had finished with the Boys, we headed into the heart of Surfers Paradise to meet with Candice and the girls.
The ceremony was held at a beautiful little chapel at Bundall, quite small though as there wasn't enough room for both myself and justine to photograph the ceremony.
Candice and Alan released doves after the ceremony and then it was on to some location photos in and around surfers Paradise.

Kerry & Glen's wedding 23rd August 2008

Kerry and Glen were married at St Johns Cathedral which is just about finished renovations, one of my favourite churches in Brisbane. We have a few more weddings coming up there soon which I am really looking forward to. I could photograph in this church for hours, the architecture is divine and so was the wedding. As you can see i have probably included a few more photos from the ceremony than I normally do.

We went off to the botanical gardens for our photo shoot and then back to Customs house for the reception, again another beautiful building. We put together a slideshow of the images from the day, which we played for their guests at the reception.

I just love the images that we captured and really happy to share them with you, we have just had the most amazing weddings lately. I may not have much of a life at the moment (as you may have figured from the lack of posting) but I look forward to the weekends to get my teeth into photographing something that looks amazing. Anyway, the images.....

Busy Busy

You may have wondered what we have been up to with no posts for the last two weeks. We will start posting our work from the last couple of weeks shortly. Everybody has been busy at various photography seminars/workshops. Matt has just finished a week long workshop with Jerry Ghionis in Melbourne and Justine has been at the August Exposure seminar on the Gold Coast listening to some amazing and talented speakers.
We have had the opportunity to catch up with alot of our local and not so local photography friends, something that doesn't happen too often.

Thao & Brett Wedding - 08th August 2008

Brett and the Boys were still in their jeans when we arrived at their place to take some photos, but it wasn't long before they were dressed and pulling all the jokes out.

When we arrived at Thao's place, all the bridesmaids were a buzz making sure everything was under control. Once Thao was dressed, it was time for some photo's and all the girls were behaving very cheekily so of course we joined in too!

The ceremony and reception were held at Sirromet Winery at Mt Cotton and we were lucky enough to have perfect winter weather all day.

Brett & Thao are no off Honeymooning in the Cook Islands.

Matt went out to Kangaroo Point to meet up with Leonie and Adam for their Engagement session. These guys are getting married in March next year.
