Added: All Albiums, shows all public albums for easy viewing. Currently in the navbar, althought might move it to the community menu.

  This is the official staff response, as far as what's been happening with Shai and the forums. Feel free to ask questions; the Staff will answer as many as possible.

As some of you may have been aware, staff had recently been reshuffling our policies, and among these policies was a more formalized disciplinary procedure for staff. This disciplinary procedure for staff was drafted to echo the formal warning and mediation system for our members. Due to the more sticky nature of staff misconduct, whenever a staff member's behaviour was not in alignment with the forum rules, they were put in front of a tribunal where the entire team would discuss appropriate disciplinary action. Penalties would be administered only after discussion had concluded and a consensus was reached by majority vote. Everyone, aside from Shai Gar, had agreed to formalize this policy. Shai did not offer his reasons for voting against this policy, nor did he suggest any alternatives. Since it was majority rule, the policy was officially put into place and there was no further protest from Shai.

Last week, Shai had posted pornographic content on the open forums. He had been warned about this particular behaviour before and chose to ignore these warnings. Having broken forum rules, as per the policy, he was put into the staff mediation to make a statement. A few staff members then posted their piece, but no one had yet voted. The three staffers who had posted their opinions (but not yet added their check to the poll) had determined that, in the grand scheme of things, the rule broken was a minor one but since Shai had been warned about this sort of behaviour before, they were deciding between a formal warning and a temporary 24 hour ban from staff (both relatively low-level consequences). Shai posted next and simply announced that he was leaving the forums. He then self-deleted his account. Staff was stunned by the move, but as far as exits went, Shai's was a quiet one.

Unfortunately, it wasn't that way for very long. The next day, he came back demanding that we delete every single one of his posts and claimed that if he ever found even one, he would come back to the forums, kick everyone off from staff, and run this place himself. He also mentioned publicly that when he did return, he would also make staff changes to his own preferences. We refused to comply, since deleting his 12,000+ posts would leave countless threads in shambles, and would require editing thousands of other posts by members who would have no say in the matter. There is a long-standing precedent (written as a policy in the Forum Rules and Guidelines) against granting such requests, and Shai Gar is well aware that any other user demanding so many deletions would be dismissed. However, he continues to press his ultimatum. As such, we have the following policy in place - a policy that Shai himself helped draft:

Members have the ability to edit or delete their own posts for up to 72 hours after posting them. After that time has expired, administrators and moderators will grant requests to edit or delete posts as long as those posts have not been quoted. If erasing the content of your post requires editing or deleting a post by another member, the request will not be granted unless under remarkably urgent circumstances. For similar reasons, members' accounts will not be deleted on request.
Shai also had one additional request, and that was for the team was to ban a member that Shai feels personal animosity towards. While the member in question had indeed broken rules in the past, staff stood by following proper disciplinary procedure instead. This apparently has angered Shai the most.

Despite the rumors circulating around the forum, Shai has not been banned. He also has had no ownership over the forums for some time. Shai had left the forums of his own accord in what can be assumed to be a protest against a possible disciplinary action against him, in addition to staff's refusal to indulge in his personal dislike of a member. Shai had left before the team had even decided what, if any, course of action was appropriate.
