Chasing The Dreams | Nepali Cricket

We chased dreams and brought it back to reality. Struggle opens the door of opportunities, pain and hunger once realized turns seemingly unachievable aim a reality. Today we are in a proud state with hands holding the flag of this beautiful nation and our wall full of the picture of our heroes. They not only won the game of cricket but brought the name of this country in the tongue of the people of the west who might have pronounced very few times “Nepal”. Yes I am a proud Nepali in front of my old desktop with dust on my keyboard typing these precious words straight from my young fingers via my heart giving message to the others that chase the dreams you are living in and chase it until it yields something extravagant in your life.

We were the numbers which could be counted in fingers; we watched them play from ordinary cricket to one of the best in front of our eyes in our home. We won, lost and sometimes lost so badly that we threw stones at them but that stones gathered gold for our team and today we throw flowers, we make songs for them and we dance along with them because it’s all about loving this game. We not only supported them but given all of them some respect. We also did expect a bit but they did what we dreamed of. Today we are in the most golden era that Nepali sports have ever imagined. We are in the mega event along with the powerhouse of the world cricket. We are in the correct platform and we should perform at any cost. Giving performance doesn't mean we must win rather we must give our 100%. We should aim high and keep ourselves calm and ready for any upcoming challenge. We must build out strength from our weakness and leave complaining about the situations.

We must never forget our base from where we have built this monument and keep moving in the direction which would certainly make us reach even further to gain an ODI status and test crown. We can further develop our diminishing identity in the world.ICC world T20 qualifier is a beautiful past for Paras and his boys but ICC T20 world cup is a challenge to show the world our lion heart attitude inherited in us from our brave forefathers. Yesterday was beautiful and beauty is temporary but our mentality is permanent. All we need to do is take a positive attitude and collect bunch of good things out of losses and bunch of excellence from the win. Everyday a new hero can be born if trained wisely and correctly. A match lost teaches 7 good things than a match won. It teaches about our weakness, our timing, attitude, mistakes, downfall, decision and combination. If we walk in a highway we meet with bumps, jerks, and plain road as well as holes which teaches us to expect anything around our journey so is this beautiful game teaching everyday to us as a player as well as a spectator of the game. A good combination of we crowds and players have achieved what was never ever imagined. So let’s continue supporting this beautiful sport and our brave heroes. A grand salute from the team of Cricket Concern to all the cricket lovers especially to Nepali Cricket Fans on Facebook and Birat Raya(NCFC) who brought people to watch cricket when nobody understood this game. Jai Nepali Cricket and Jai Nepali Cricket team

Nepal are into T20 WorldCup Bangladesh

Its not dream. Yes, Nepal is through to the ICC Cricket World Cup which will be held at Bangladesh. It was an excellent effort from the guys. Paras Khadka lead from the front. And was fantastic with the both bat and bowl. Gyanendra Malla found form when it was required. Subash Khakurel was consistent in every game. Sagar Pun was that youth flair required in T20 competition. Binod Bhandari made his reputation as a fantastic finisher. Veswakar played two match winning knocks, Jitendra Mukhiya, Shakti Gauchan and Basanta Regmi were excellent with the ball. This was complete team performance throughout the Tournament. With exception of Anil Mandal, Pradeep Airee with bat and Amrit Bhattarai with ball every one performed. Nobody expected us to win considering the group we were into. It was tough group but Nepal made it through.

Analyzing the tournament:

Nepal won against Denmark, PNG, Kenya, Bermuda and finished third in the group. Nepal proved to be excellent run chasers. Out of four wins 3 wins(Denmark, PNG, Kenya) were run chases. And all three run chases were guided by excellent Paras Khadka and other guys playing around him. Against Bermuda Nepal defended the total by virtue of excellent Opening spells of Jitendra Mukhiya and Avinash Karn. Nepal again chased down the total against Hongkong and were once again guided by the Paras Khadka.

Nepal's loses were down to rain curt led Afghanistan, poor batting performance against Netherlands and excellent Scottish batting.

Nepali hero with the bat was obviously Paras Khadka who always performed when nation required him, whereas Jitendra Mukhiya was gem with the ball in hand.

Nepal V Honkong | A road to Bangladesh

"Nick Knight and Paul Allott will join Pakistan fast bowling legend Waqar Younis as part of the commentary team"

To be honest as a die hard fan too, I never imagined Nepal will be facing Hongkong for a place in WT20 preliminary round which features Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Lets forget tomorrow result, This itself is a great achievement. But as its in blood of human, you are never satisfied by what you have and want more. Thus we all Nepali fans are praying for a Nepal win and dreaming, yes we can be playing at Bangladesh in WT20.

How hard is to beat Hongkong?

Below i have show some of the matchs between Hongkong v Nepal

Previous encountered Nepal V Hongkong

HK 114/9 (20 ov) NEPAL 115/8 (20 ov): NEPAL won in last ball, 2011 ACC T20
NEPAL 115/9 (20 ov) HK 116/4 (20 ov): HK won in last ball, 2013 ACC T20

27 March 2013

Nepal 115/9 (20 overs) Hong Kong 116/4 (16.3 overs) – Hong Kong won by 6 wickets

Nadeem Ahmed spun the Nepali batsmen in a tangle to grab 3/18, as Nepal stuttered to 115. Irfan Ahmed and Nizakat Khan proceeded to thrash the Nepali spinners to give a comfortable win.

13 March 2012

Nepal 130/6 (20 overs) Hong Kong 102/9 (20 overs) – Nepal won by 28 runs

Paras Khadka struck 68 off 62 balls and Chandra Sawad ripped the Hong Kong top order to get Nepal a win. This was a first easy win for Nepal and the match was played in UAE (ICC T20 Qualifier last seasons)

Group A runner up(Hongkong) V Group B third(Nepal) | Nepal V Hongkong

We all know winning against inform Hongkong side who finish second only behind Ireland is not an easy task, but is it impossible..? No, last three results does not show it. In last three games Nepal has been victorious twice, once with huge margin, considering it was a T20 match. Especially ICC T20 Q 2012 victory(third one) will give Nepal confidence that they can win against the Honkong side. But when there's more than pride in stake, where there is chance to play in WT20 still truly on you can assume that opponents will be as inspired as we are. So playing games of such high magnitude wont be easy, especially considering it is biggest stage in World Cricket for Nepal.

Tommorow Nepal should bat well. Though a bit slow for T20 standard Khakurel is consistent. Paras Khadka is expected to do good, but the eyes will be again on Gyanendra Malla to do good. Nepal if bat well have more than good chances to win tommorow match and go to WT20 finals. Sagar Pun should bat down the order. Avinash Karn should be picked ahead of Amrit Bhattarai as Bhattarai has been wayward in this tournament. Jitendra Mukhiya, Basanta Regmi and Shakti Gauchan with Paras Khadka are expected to do what they have been doing in the tournament. But more than bowling, tommorow's result will be decided by batting performance of Nepal.

Nepal Vs Afghanistan

Nepal faces do or die situation

Nepal is currently in 4th position with 6 points after playing 5 games in group B which is led by Netherlands. With two more games left to be played by Nepal, it seems like both of them are must win games to keep our hope of playing WT20 alive.
One of those two games is with the mighty Afghans and another with Bermuda. The game between Nepal and Afghanistan is a key game for both the sides. If Nepal manages to win both its games, it will end with 10 points from 7 games and in that case Afghanistan will have one more game left to play with Kenya. Afghanistan is more likely to win the match and also will have 10 points in their bag. Thus, the net run rate will be deciding factor in who will end 2nd in the group. Netherlands has two games spare and it will be playing Scotland and Kenya and is likely to win both. Hence, we can assume Netherland will get into WT20. So both the remaining games are crucial and must win games for Nepal. If Nepal wins both and is favored by luck, there's still some chance that Nepal will end up as group leader. This totally depends upon big loses by both Afghanistan and Netherlands.

Against Afghanistan, It will be fiery pacey Afghan attack against spirited Nepali unit. In paper Afghan looks stronger than Nepal and rightly considered favorites to win the game. But they say, cricket is a funny old game and especially this shorter format. Nullifying excellent Afghan bowling is easier said than done as Nepal has struggled against relatively easy Dutch and Danish attacks. So, where the result will be totally decided by the fact how Nepali batsmen cope with Afghan bowling. If they bat anywhere near as good as against Kenyans they have a chance or else Nepal can forget WT20. Today is do or die situation and Nepal should go in field with an attitude, do before you die.

Man to watch:
Afghanistan: Najibullah Zardan : After that match winning innings against Denmark, he will be in dying to play another good innings for his country and is great talent for Afghan, considering he is only 20.

Nepal: Binod Bhandari : Binod too after playing that match winning knock against PNG could prove match winner again against Afghanistan and Nepalese fan will be hoping there is more to Nepalese batting than Paras Khadka.

ICC T20 Qualifier Nepal V Netherlands | Pre - Match Analysis

2013-11-19T23:02:00.000-08:00

Nepal V Netherlands Pre-match analys

Netherlands team

A crucial match for both the team to be on the top of the table. Netherlands, having a huge victory over the Denmark seems quite more confident and also being on the top of the table till now makes them a stronger team but nonetheless they have suffer loosing with PNG by huge margin( PNG have defeated Netherlands by 41 runs). The strongest side of the team is consider to be bating and fielding since PNG have managed to make a huge target on then of 194 runs thus bowling seems a little bit weaker, this is the point where Nepal can hit them. If we talk about ICC T20 Qualifier last season(2012/13) then it shows that Nepal was punched with a huge victory by Netherlands but since then there is more change in status of both the team and the players. The key things of Netherlands team is that they play international cricket more often with the best team in the world and the players have gain a lot more experience then the Nepalese side.Players have got more exposure to the world cricket and also the players like Michael Richard Swart, Peter William Borren,Mudassar Bukhari,Peter William Borren have got chance to play with strong team such as India A,Sri Lanka A, Western Australia, Southern Australia and many more.

Player to watch from Netherlands

Michael Richard Swart, Peter William Borren, Mudassar Bukhari,Peter William Borren(22 runs an 2 wickets in last match), Asan malik(4 wickets in last match) are the key players to watch.

Nepal's Team

winning 3 out the 4 match played, rising of some good batsman and being on the second of the table Nepal team is also thought to be one of the strongest team of the tournament and also a strong candidate of the world cup Qualifier.Nepalese team are always good in bowling. The bowler like Shakti Gauchan(most economical and contestent bowler), Paras Khadka(a man in need and a best all rounder ), Basanta Regmi, Jitendra Mukhya have remains always best in any format of the game. Its their best chance to pay the debt of humiliating defeat against the Netherlands in last season of T20 Qualifier. Nepal have no such experience and international exposure as Netherlands team have but as we evaluate the players and their game since last couple of year then we found out they have been out standing in all format of game. Being of last ranked and acquiring the 7 position at the end they have shown to the world that they have already started the race. An easy win against PNG who have defeated Ned will built a strong confident to the National side and they will most probably see the straight way to the qualification winning this match. If Nepal wins this match and the remaining 2 then they will simply qualify for the world cup. Thus a great match of hope for the side.

Players to watch for Nepal

Batting

Team is mostly dependent on the National hero Paras as he plays in every match. He have a world class average in T20 matches of 58+ and this is above some of the wold class players. The rising star Binod Bhandari(the blaster of 51 in 22 balls against Kenya)can also be a key player of todays match and players like Khakural(a consistence one), Malla, Veshwakar(the blaster against kenya), P Aaire ,Sagar Pun are also in the list.

Bowling

Shakti Gauchan has been the most economical bowler of Nepal in T20 qualifier, player like Basant Regmi(most wicket taker from Nepal though he seem unsuccessful in this tournament), Captain cool Khadka, Sagar Pun and Jitendra Mukhya will also be in the list of player to watch in todays match.

Positive points of the game | Nepal V P.N.G

Fantastic Bowling performance by Nepali team. Amrit Bhattarai showed why he was included in the team
Nepali spinners were great.
Nepal as usual had a great team spirit.
Paras Khadka: This man is not if the most, one of the most popular figure in whole Nepal. And every game he shows why. What a bowling performance and what a captain's innings while chasing.
Binod Bhandari, he was the man of the match for me. He was the one who took risk when the run rate was creeping above 10.
Guys look like they are there not just to participate but give Nepali fans taste of World Cup.
Other teams are starting to fear us, which is a great sign.

Negatives points of the game | Nepal V P.N.G

Nepal needs an opener. Sagar Pun struggles when bowl is new and is doing a bit. He is not the solution to the Nepali opening spot.
Gyanendra Malla needs some advise from coach. He is getting starts but not kicking from there. It could prove costly in future.
Nepal needs to improve on death bowling. Today after getting Jones, score should not have crossed 130. This needs to be addressed by the team management and Paras should be clear whom to use in death overs.
Basanta Regmi was uncharacterstically expensive. We hope it was just his off day.

ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2013-14 | MacLeod 82 powers Scotland to win | Nepal Vs Scotland

2013-11-18T07:49:00.000-08:00

Nepal lost to Scotland by 8 wickets

It was not exactly horror performance, because Nepal were excellent but in patches. If you ask me about batting performance take Paras Khadka out from the team and we are in trouble. This was the main reason why Nepal lost today. I dont have nothing against bowlers because in the dream batting track with short square boundaries you have to bowl out of ordinary to restrict the opponents defending such a low total. And credit Scotland they batted professionally.

Nepal's Inning | Nepal Vs Scotland

Nepal's Innings

What were worry points?

Batting obviously, you just dont win match just scoring 137.
Again failed opening stand. Nepal needs to sort out this problem soon.
Gyanendra Malla needs to convert starts to something substantial as he is one who should stand after Paras.
Sagar Pun is not a opener, he struggles against bit doing new ball.
Define role of Anil Mandal. Why is he on team if he is batting at 7?
Death bowling, you cant give high full toss to any batsmen leave alone the one who is batting settled .
You cant expect Paras Khadka to do every time, after all he is human. Hence, if remaining batting line up does not stand up and take responsibility, we can forget World Cup.

Nepal's Bowling | Scotland Vs Nepal

Nepal's bowling

What were positives?

Team spirit, They gave it their all when guys were fielding. That was great to see.
Paras Khadka, He has been awesome throughout.
Bowlers had tough task, but they stretch game to last over.
Listening the comantry we found out that there is a huge impact of Shakti Gauchan on international cricket.

Pre-Match Analysis Nepal Vs scotand | ICC T20 Qualifier | Mission To Bangladesh

2013-11-17T18:37:00.002-08:00

Nepal Vs Scotland | Nepal will take on against strong Scottish

SCOTLAND : Know your opponents

Scotland are currently 7th in table losing both of their matches, having net run rate of -0.875
Scotland scored 154 against Afghanistan chasing 172 and scored 131 against Bermuda chasing 150.
Matt Machan has scored highest run in the tournament [59] for Scotland which includes 54 Against Afghanistan.
I Wardlaw has been most successful with bowl taking 5 wickets in the tournament.
I wardlaw plays for English county team Yorkshire and has excellent record of 39 wickets from 25 list A matches.
English cricket superstar Paul Collingwood is currently the coach of Scottish National team.
Scotland ranks 12 in ICC ranking T-20 which is above Zimbabwe and a place below Bangladesh.

NEPAL: Know your team

Nepal are currently 1st in table winning both of their matches, having net run rate of+1.577
Nepal scored 80 against Denmark chasing 79 and scored 186 against Kenya chasing 182.
Paras Khadka has scored highest run in the tournament [102] for Nepal which includes 54 Against Kenya.
B Regmi and JK Mukhiya has both taken 4 wickets for Nepal but Regmi in considering both match has been more economical thus can be considered more successful of two.

NEPAL vs SCOTLAND |ANALYSIS FROM ASSOCIATE AND AFFILIATE CRICKET

This match unlike others can swing in any direction. It is a must win match for both the teams as it will directly affect the final positions. A loss here could mean that you land in 4/5th slot instead of 2nd/3rd and then have to win a extra match to qualify
Scots would be low on confidence losing matches too Ber and Afg. Their batting has been a challenge and it would need to overcome the strong Nepal bowling line up. A loss here could seriously hamper their chances making it a uphill task to qualify
Nepal must be very confident after 2 back to back wins specially after chasing a huge score against Kenya. They should however ensure that this confidence does not change into overconfidence as Scotland have loads of experience (International & County) in their side
The match will be one sided but can go in either direction. Due to the loads of experience against better teams I would give Scots a very slight advantage but with upcoming Nepal you never know

MAN TO WATCH | NEPAL VS SCOTLAND

Scotland: I Wardlaw: Wardlaw is an experienced campaigner having played in English domestic circuit and is a focal point of Scottish bowling attack.

Nepal: Paras Khadka: Paras Khadka is the heart and soul of Nepalese Cricket team. He is our captain, our go to batsmen and he does his quota of 4 overs too. So, he is the main man for Nepali cricket team for the match.

Match Venue and Time | Nepal Vs Scotland

November 18, 2013 at Dubai. The game will start at 3:45 NPT.

Nepal Beat Kenya By 6 Wickets | Nepal Vs Kenya | WorldCup T20 Qualifier 2013

2013-11-16T22:42:00.001-08:00

Nepal gets 2 victories in a row as Nepal beats Kenya by 6 wickets

Nepal 186 for 4 (Khakurel 54, Khadka 54*) beat Kenya 182 for 7 (Patel 103) by six wickets

Last over, Veswakar( 5 balls 23 runs) on strike, for me it was game over for Nepal. Veswakar gave 30 runs in his only over of his game and It was seemingly looking like being the difference between the sides. For a fan, it was not easy to believe that Veswakar was bit nervy. But Sharad had his own ideas. He was there to rise in occasion and make his name. What a time it was, blasting 3 sixes against one-time World Cup semifinalist and winning the game for the country.

Nepal's Bowling against Kenya(source ICC)

Nepal is traditionally a tight bowling unit. The problem always has been an inconsistent batting performances. It was again exposed against Denmark when score read 0-2. It was the Mr. consistent Paras Khadka to the rescue mission again. But against Kenya it was a total batting performance with exception of Pradeep Airee. Apart from Veswakar’s Blitz it was again fantastic batting display from Paras Khadka(54* of 40 balls), Khakurel(54 of 64 balls) played a openers inning whereas Gyanendra Malla’s inning also cant be ignored who scored 32 runs of 36 balls.

Is Nepal’s performance against Kenya and Denmark suggests that they can qualify for World Cup? Well it’s a million dollar question but there has been one and two areas where Nepal needs to improve.

T-twenty innings always builds on Opening stands and Nepal cant afford another failure from Pradeep. He is a good player but if he is to keep his place in team he needs to perform in next two game or else something has to be done, either changing his batting position or dropping him.

It has always been the case that Nepal’s inning builds on Paras Khadka. Over dependent on Khadka means there will always be a mental pressure more than anything if our Mr. consistent fails in any game. So remaining batting line up should increase their performance level and take the pressure away from the captain.
Death bowling: Nepal’s death bowling has not been at best which was shown by yesterday’s bowling performances against Kenya which should be addressed as we cant afford to give way too many runs in death against the likes of PNG and Netherlands.

We all hope that Nepal will be in World Cup but for now lets all fan concentrate just one game at a time and hope Nepal will win their game against Scotland.

Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup | Nepal v Pakistan Under-23s

Mathematical Calculation for Nepal to reach in semi

Source:- Asian Cricket Council

How To Read The Table

Nepal would need to win over Pak U23 and would require Afg to lose to Ind U23. If Afg defeat India U23 then Nepal would be out.

Nepal defeating Pak U23 and Afg losing to Ind U23 would make all 3 teams

Case 1 (On left on table), If Afghanistan lose to India by say 50 Runs, then if Nepal is batting first then it needs to win by 43 runs, and if batting second then needs to win in 37.1 Overs

Case 2(On right of table), If Afghanistan bat first and India chase, and they are able to chase in say 45 Overs, then if Nepal is batting first it needs to win by 61 runs, and if batting second they need to chase the score in 32.3 Overs

In that way, when people know by how many runs or in overs India won, they exactly know in how many overs or by how many runs Nepal needs to win.

Thus this is the Pakistanis squad for tomorrow. The squad contain 1 test player and 4 ODIs player. This Pakistani U-23 team seems more experienced then the Indians one. so better we need to call this is an excellent opportunity for Nepal to play with such a high experienced team and to gain some good cricketing experience. Mathematical as explained above Nepal have still some very less chance to qualify for the semi so from the perspective of Nepal its an important match. If we see from the eye of Pakistan, they also have to win tomorrows match so that to qualify for the semi since if they loose then mathematically, only good run rate loose will save them. Thus for both the team tomorrows match is very important even its better to call do or die situation for both the team.

ACC Elite Cup Final Summary|Nepali Cricket On Move

2012-10-16T11:34:00.000-07:00

Simplicity and composition are the greatest strength |Nepal Cricket Team

Simplicity is an adjective used to explain innocence. We are innocent in a sense that we know nothing more than playing a competitive game every day. We enter the final of two consecutive tournament and make to the final of both, not only we make to the final but also we become the winner of them. First we achieved division IV to enter division III and now its ACC Elite Cup2012.A cricketer field is a battle field for us. We don’t do unnecessary shouting’s rather than we simply play a silent game at first and start an uniform acceleration till the end from the mid over. In both bowling and bating we don’t depend upon a single players fielding and bowling changes are the most prominent thing that captain and coach has improved a lot since many games. Rotating the strike and backing up the players were the good features seen in the team.

Holding this key for Nepal are the four pillars of Nepali team. The simplicity of this experienced veteran players have the influenced the youngsters coming in the senior level and the environment in the dressing room have changed significantly. As coach Dasanaike mentioned.”I simply restore the confidence which was lacking in the team”. Nepalese mixture of youth and experienced have changed the mode of playing style in the team. They look a good and confidence team either batting 1^st order 2^nd. They are unplayable at times and the confidence level at current matches no associates/affiliated member have.

The team which lost momentum in the mid ways 3 to 4 years ago is currently running at the good form in all three departments an unbeaten win of division-IV aid their confidence sky high. With the confidence they entered ACC ELITE cup and with no surprise though as joint winner of the competition held their head high once again.

It’s not always that we can take all good things only. The bad things must also be pointed out and their lose confidence was seen against Kuwait in which the opponent counter attacked and hammered the entire bowler. That match did mark little bit poor decision making of few players. We missed a genuine fast bowler at times and now we should be proud that our irregular bowlers too did a very good job to make us win this competition. But excellence shown by Shakti Gauchan and Basanta Regmi with bat and ball in many occasion make us proud their combination with the ball make like difficult for all of the team.

Similarly the father- son combination of skipper Paras and Gyanendra always played vital knock for the team always coming up with huge partnership and between them one always scores till the end. Paras proved his captaincy with bowling and fielding skills as well.

With the cameo from Paras, Pradeep Airee, Sharad Veshwakar and Prithu Baskota even also charmed along with the sparkling middle order. As a whole all the member performed as a team and their combined efforts took us today at that level whier we were dreaming since long. This make our task a little easier but more challenges must be overcome now and this little wonderers which we are achieving would count a little bit more when we will grasp and ODI status and play in the upcoming 2015 ICC world cup. Best wishes to all the team members and long congralution to all the supports and citizen of Nepal .Proud to be a Nepali Cricket Fan.

ACC ELITE CUP FINAL NEPAL VS UAE MATCH SUMMARY

2012-10-12T11:32:00.000-07:00

ACC Elite Cup 2012 Final Nepal Vs UAE Match Summary

Nepal(SP Khakurel 55(74),SP Gauchan 3/36) Shared ACC Elite Cup 2012 with UAE(*Saqib Ali 101(103), Ahmed Raza 2/44) after the match is tied in Sharjah.

Today at Sharjah, Elite Cup tested the best final in the history of Elite Cup.The very thrilling match which brought a lot of up and down for the both teams nearly takes the breathe of every players, fans and live viewers.
Nepali skipper won the toss and elected to field first as Nepal have got strong bowling attack. At the beginning UAE bating seemed to be in trouble when they had loose Arshad Ali without scoring a single run and that of team, consequently they loose 4 wickets at just 70 runs in 20 overs. It was a day for the captain Khurraum Khan and Saqib Ali.Both of them controlled the whole inning and managed to make a grand total of 241 in the final.Khan scored 61 runs of 79 balls with 5 fours before he was send back to pavilion by Gauchan and Ali managed to score an unbeaten century. He scored 101 runs of 103 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes and finally managed to drag the team score to competitive level. Nepali bowler seemed economical rather than successful today. They just succeed to take 6 wickets of the opponent among which Gauchan took 3, S Regmi took 1 and 2 of the batsman of UAE were run-out.

Score Board Nepali Team

The target of 241 was given to Nepal in 50 overs where Nepal produced an excellent start. The first wickets partnership between Mandal and Khakurel was of 94 runs meantime team lost Mandal with his personal score of 45 of 67 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.The tragedy of partner drag Khakurel along with him and thus he got to pavilion hiting 55(74).At this stage team total was of 106 in 24.3 overs so as it was thought Nepal would meet target easily but who knows, problems doesn't comes along with notification. The partnership between Captain and vice-captain creeped the team total to 165 but the star bowler Raza Hasha came in attack taking two wickets of Paras and G.Malla in consecutive balls.Team seemed critical at that moment but S.Vesawkar batted exceptionally well, he scored unbeaten 38 runs of 36 balls with a four and 2 sixes rescuing Nepal team till the last.
The most thrilling part of the match was final over where Nepal was requiring 12 runs of it and Gauchan was on strike who was going to face S.Silva.The first three balls of last over brought only 2 runs and hope to win was nearly fading along with setting sun in Sharjah, but fortunately Gauchan hits a massive six over the long and brought required runs at 4 for just 2 balls. This humongous six gave a water to a dead man and made him wake up.The second last ball brought 2 runs leaving 2 runs to score from the last ball of last over.Unfortunately Gauchan the the hero of today's match managed to score 1 run and got back to pavilion while tried to bring the second one to win the match, finally match ended in tie and both team share the Cup.

Players to watch

Saqib is the Man of the match for his brilliant century and Paras Khadka, the Man of the series for his consistent performances with the bat and the ball.

Man of the Tournament Nepali Skipper and All rounder Paras Khadka have scored all together 291 runs, taken 7 catches and altogether 9 wickets in the tournament.
SP Gauchan remained as the highest wicket taker of the tournament with his 15 wickets with an economy of just 3.18.
B Regmi took 10 wickets in the tournament with an economy of 3.81.

Nepal Deserves Win Against UAE According to Current Teams Analysis

For live score update see left corner of our blog or you can click here

Team UAE Analysis

UAE played their first match against Nepal in ACC Ellite Cup 2012 but they fail to produce win against the so called mast deserving and consistence team of the tournament i.e Nepal. They lost their match by 4 wickets but completely kept Nepali players under control.Their every aspects were crystal clear when they came to play their first match. The over all performance was satisfactory but to produce win in cricket you need to expose well against the team you are playing and finally win counts rather then satisfaction. So some depression were granted to them in their first match but they come back in the tournament with their usual form and won every game in the league with huge margin and wickets to qualify for the semi being the group runner up in head to head against Nepal. The comeback of the home team in league matches have brought joy in fans and a better confidence in the players as a result they beat the strongest Affiliated and Associate team i.e Afghanistan in Semi-final in respectably and easy manner. They restrict Afghan in just 70 runs and won the match by 8 wickets to enter the Final. This win against Afghan have given them a great belief and mental strength in the players so that to built the strong foundation for the final against Nepal.

Players To Watch from UAE

UAE is a team with a complete package .If we talk about back bone of the team then its the pool of turners they have. They have almost 6 spinners and have got bowler like Ahmed Raza who have played just 4 match and capture 12 wickets with an economy of just 3.40 , Arshad Ali(The best known all rounder of UAE) who have 8 wickets in his pocket with and economy of 3.94 and Khurram Khan(skipper) and 7 wickets in the tournament.

The weakest part of the team is seems bating this time but not as weakest as the word says because these batsman like Mohammad Azam(125 runs) , Shaiman Anwar(174 runs ),Saqib Ali(121 runs) and Arshad Ali(97 runs) along with Abdul Ifthikar(146 runs) are the best known batsman of UAE.So the final conclusion bring us that UAE is a well mantained team with Unorthodox and orthodox players. If they play in well form they can bring down any team of Associated Nation so these player we mentioned are the best among the UAE side and the players to watch in Final.

Team Nepal Analysis

The current Nepali team is thought to be one of the finest team in the Associated and Affiliated nation. The main back bone of the team are Spinners, the Midas Skipper Paras Khadka and the coach Pubudu Dassanayake. Nepal have won 9 out of 10 last matches and are strong orthodxy team. In the thrilling semi final they have beaten (The team lead by the former God Father of Nepal Cricket Roy Dyas) Malaysia by 21 runs and entered the final of ACC Elite Cup 2012 to play with UAE for the second time. Before this Nepal have already played final of elite cup with UAE in 2002 when Nepal have lose that match, but since then time have changed in drastic manner and almost no one are in the team who have played that match from both side. Nepal have already won their League match against UAE last week in the same stadium Sharjah in the same time as final is going to be played, so the win against them have made the side quit comfortable to play with greater hope but hope have got nothing to do in the field and its all relay upon the performance of team game.Nepal have been very consistence in the tournament except one match were they have lost against Kuwait failing to defend a high total of 280.The match they have played against Kuwait have taught the team that the game is not always won by spinners and team always requires fast bowler to hold the breath in the time when spinners fails to produce break through so as Amrit bhatrai have prove it. He have just played three matches and manage to take 5 wickets, being the most economical bowler of Nepal with an economy of 2.90 in this tournament.
Players to watch from Nepal
The spinner have again proven them in this tournament and among them Shakti Gauchan and Basanta Regmi have proven them in every tournament Nepal have played in the foreign land. There is no doubt they are currently the best spinner available in the Asia and i guess they can prove if they get proper ex-poser to better test playing teams.Gauchan is currently within the fourth rank among the heighest wicket taket in the tournament. He have already taken 12 wickets with and economy of 3.08 and the other fat littke master Basanta regmi have claim 10 wickets with and economy of 3.43.The under-19 captain Prithu Baskota who have played a match winning game against Malaysia have scored 34 runs and have taken 3 wickets in the last math proving his better comeback in the team so that to sealed the mouth of the criticizers.
The main player to watch will be the Nepali skipper and the orthodoxy player Paras Khadka who is currently the highest run scorer of the tournament. He manage to make 260 runs with an incredible average of 86.66 along with strike rate of 109.70 including a century( and missed one against malaysia scoring 89 runs) and couple of half century. He has been the top 5 most wickets takers of the tournament i.e 9wikts with an economy of 4.71.He is also the most catchers of Nepali team with total catch of 5 catches so i had liked better call him Midas of Nepali Cricket Team.Batsman like G.malla(180 runs ), AK Mandal(156 runs ),SP Khakurel (84 runs ), P Airee(64 runs) and Prithu Baskota(98 runs) are also the players to be watched in the Final. The current combination of the team as if is the best side in the tournament and thus is considered to be the strong Representative of the CUP.
So in the upcoming Final, UAE will be in the target of repeating history again by taking the revenge of league match while Nepal will be in the way of making history.
