Time To Sell Your Site/Blog? Here's Some Pointers...

So you have come to the conclusion that its time to sell your website/blog but you dont know what steps to take? Well here's some tips...

Get Your Site In Shape

This step must be one of the most import as if your site isn't up to scratch it wouldn't appeal to buyers. What buyers will be looking for are visuals, content and gadgets i.e video tools, comment boxes and interactive widgets.

Release a document

This step would be your selling point. It should consist of traffic reports, so the buyer can see how the site has grown over time and whether your audience continue to return. Your revenue would be the most import as no one will buy for nothing.

Buyers would also want to know your expenses, how much do you spend maintaining your site... Hosting, content and yearly domain name.

Do you have social network accounts? Buyers would want to know how many followers you have as i have previously stated social networks are great advertising tools.

Where to list your site?

Finally you would have to list your site on selling websites such as Flippa, websitebroker or buysellwebsites.

Facebook has announce its Users will NOT be able to vote against policy changes after an email was sent out to all users stating Facebook wanted a more 'meaningful' way for users to give feedback. So how are they going to be making a more meaningful way for suggestions? We'll just have to wait and see.

3D Printers
So 3D printers have been around for over 40 years, but soon they will be just another house hold essential as prices have fallen dramatically. But this raises questions. If you have a 3D print and for instance want to make your self a model of a product or trade mark you would have to by the license to do so else you would be breaching copyright.

Cyber Hackers
A student hacked into the PayPal website, costing the company 3.5 million. What a great way to pay off your student loans? No its not a good thing. This started because PayPal refused to process WikiLeaks payments.

UN Net Control
The United nations telecoms company should not be allowed to control the internet. The united nations shouldnt be allowed to do so because the internet is from the general public. This is causing debates as users dont like the idea of having their internet usage tracked. What do you think?

Looper 2012 Review

Looper
This is the first WRYM film review and i feel this is a good place to start!
This film is full of action, adventure and has a great story line. Rated as the best action film of the year i feel this has really stepped up the mark for future films in the same genre.

I'm a true lover of action films and Bruce Willis is probably the perfect person to play one of the main roles in this film.

Im not going to be giving you any details of the story line as i wouldn't want to ruin it for any people out there who have yet seen it.
But overall i would give this film a 4.5 out of 5.

5000 Year Old Flying Machine Discovered In Afganistan

So this is out of the ordinary for the genre of articles i do, but i thought i should share this with my audience, and because i want WRYM to be "More Open Minded"

So, there is a conspiracy that in Afghanistan there is a cave, and inside is a 5000 year old flying machine... Sounds silly right, but according to what has been said over at "Before Its News" 8-9 American Soldiers have lost their lives trying to gain access to the "Flying Machine"

But where did this speculation come from? Well in the past few weeks many of the worlds most powerful leaders had been rushed to Afghanistan to see what all the commotion was about.

The "Flying Machine" or otherwise called the Vimana is trapped in a time-well where it has been left for 5000 years.

Is this true, or is it a lie. Either way us, the general public probably won't here about the true for another 50 years... which is when governments have to spill the beans, although i still think there is alot we still haven't been told. Only time can tell.

How Things Have Changed (Part 1)

I started WRYM back in January 2012. Although its only been 10 months, which in internet terms means WRYM is still a toddler, a lot has changed. By this mean our services, techniques, social presence and most noticeable the design of the site its self! For those viewers who have been with us since the beginning you may remember this...

In the past few months i have taken a more of a "sat back approach" as i was working on to many things at once which i feel led to a lack in article quality. But don't worry, those are out the window and I'm taking things slower. Some things I've been working on are way before there time but ONE day they will come around!

The Human Lie Detector
Its easy to tell if some people are lieing, whereas there are many people who give no obvious signs. Its really simple when you know. Below is a list of things to look out for if you happen to not have a lie detector machine in your pocket!

Check there heart rate
If they are right handed they may look right or figet with there right limbs and the same with left handed people
Blushing
Laughing

The Universe is a dream, for children of today, and the children of tomorrow, so how can the U.S say they cannot afford to make dreams happen if they are so valuable. 4/10 of a penny in every 1 USD paid in taxes to NASA! 4 USD in every 1000, honestly is that all the government will pay for the universe?

I felt i should contribute to the on going argument on why NASA is getting so poorly underpaid, which in result destroyed the space shuttle. Artificial Jellyfish Made From A Rat!?!

So guys, its all about the title here. Yes, scientists in the US have made a "Free Swimming Jellyfish". I'm all for science and do find the majority of findings/theory's rather interesting, but come on, this is just weird! Honestly, what do you get from a Jellyfish made from Rat muscle cell structures?

The team made a replica silicone swimming Jellyfish which contained Rat cells, with a slight joult from an electrical current it began showing swimming movements. But how do we know this wasn't the muscle cells having a spasm?

Now I'm going to swiftly move on to the environment which has nothing to do with the title.

For the last 50 years scientists and geophysicists have been saying that green house gasses are causing the planet to warm up "Global Warming". Im all from being more efficient with recycling, but is it really making a difference? I mean, here i am scraping the mar-mite out of the jar, its like turning up to an earth quake with a dust pan and brush. If you want to save the environment then cut down on using transport with burns fossil fuels. That is the big picture.

Microsoft Fixes 'Big Boobs' Codeing Error

What!? I guess thats what your thinking, well its simple, Microsoft was alerted to a coding error which was labeled "Big Boobs" if like me you may be thinking "Why would anybody at Microsoft give a massive chunk of coding the name "Big Boobs". What can i say, Microsoft does like pulling random things out of the hat.

The hexadecimal string 0xB16B00B5 and for those people who loved writing "Boobs" on the old school calculators you should be able to see it in the previous code name.
It was discovered in the code which helps a Microsoft program which works on Linux open source software. Yes, i know, i have written about Linux for the second time!
But is this really a big issue? I mean, seriously, what was going thought the persons mind when the thought

0xB16B00B5 was "BIG Boobs"

But this is no set back for Microsoft as it hasn't cause much discussion around the world. But let them get all the last things ready for Windows 8 launch, silly interruptions shouldn't be made in my opinion!

But did you know that if it wasn't for Star Trek we probably wouldn't have mobile phones, and if it wasn't for the star ship enterprise, NASA may not be trying to reach the outer reaches of our solar system. Lets face it, if it wasn't for a load of nerds writing science fiction you probably wouldn't be reading this post.

History Of Google - Part 2

Hello again, and welcome to your second dose of Google History, which has lots to offer, and is really interesting as the company only started out as a research project out the back of a garage. Grantee you didn't know that. So we left off on Google hitting a brick wall, with no money to operate and pay for servers, the young P.H.D students needed a cash injection, but finding it hard when the company was generating nothing.Your probably thinking "Advertisements" and Google does use advertising to this day, but they wanted to bring a different experience to their users. At the time their rivals Yahoo! did have adverts but weren't organized and adverts were plastered all over the place on their site, or the term "Internet Party" which means to many flashing things all at the same time.

Google finally came to approach advertising in a whole new way, the same way you search key words in the search engine. It works like this, lets say i type in "Computers" into Google Search. As well as finding the top ranked pages to do with computers Google finds relevant ads that are associated with Computers. No though, if you have an online blog/website, you can pay small fee's through Adwords and have your site featured in these advertisements. For example, if your blog was about Dogs, if anyone types in dogs your blog will appear at the top of the search in orange. The way Google charges you is through pay per click, so every time someone clicks your advertisement, you pay Google a set fee.

History Of Google - Part 1

Google, a well know name, and the most viewed site in the whole of the world wide web. Yes Google is the most viewed site along side Facebook and YouTube. But did you know the origins of the search engine giant? In this 3 part series i will be revealing almost every step in the timeline of the worlds favorite online company.

So Google, where did things start? To be honest to get a clearer picture we have to look back before it was even thought of, which takes us to Yahoo. Google will come into this post after a little more background history. Before i begin don't forget to subscribe to the site to know when part 2 is published. ( To the right)

Before the time of Yahoo! there was no internet online directory, and by this i mean no search engines, which didn't do the web much help, people simply chose not to use the internet mainly because it was all a big mesh of sites. In 1994 two students from Stanford University began a hobby online which categorized all the web sites that were all unordered on the web. They named it Jerry And Davids Guide To The World Wide Web. Bit of a long name isn't it. It was later changed to a more catching Yahoo! But what was a hobby soon would make them billionaires. They only problem was Yahoo only categorized web pages, you couldn't actually search.

In 1996 Larry Page and Sergey Brin got involved with a project to create an online universal digital library which was funded bu the National Science Foundation. What made their idea so unique was its simplicity. They though about the link structures online as a kind of virtual recommendation, for example, if a page about computers was linked to 10,000 time and there was also a page about the same thing but was only linked to 30 times the 10,000 one would show higher rankings in Google search.

All sounds great doesn't it, Google seems to be doing fine, well your wrong. Google needed money to operate which means it needed investors. But how could a company which was generating no money get investors? Find out in Part Two.

Is Making Money From Blogging That Important?

After some time most bloggers will come to the point where making money from their blog is achievable, but in my case that isn't. I'm not saying that my blog isn't getting any views because it is, and if your reading this its a view right? Anyhow, making money from blogging, and i mean enough that it really makes a difference takes time, effort and determination.

In this article i will explain what you should and should do when trying to make a little extra money. Also don't forget to subscribe to the Newsletter for the latest tips and tricks in the blogging world, i mean why not, its free and safe! If you don't want to do that then subscribe to the blog via email, its to your right.

Have you ever ended up on a website/blog and it is absolutely plastered in adverts, and i mean everywhere (as a header, footer and even after every single post) Its just annoying, and im sure if you feel that way there are many others who do to.

Advertisements are good, but if used well. I would be lying if i said don't have them at all because they are stupid, because as you can see i have 2 ads on my entire blog. If you want to begin to make serious money from blogging then you will never get there from pay per clicks unless you are getting millions of views a day. You either need to sell a product, whether that's a service you provide or an actual product, or get private advertisers.

Be warned, and there are thousands of people who have already said this online, time is key. Things simply don't happen over night. You need to establish your personal brand, post regular GOOD content, get noticed and have a respectable amount of views, then you can focus on making some money.

Not only this, if you currently have a job but would like to quite and blog for a living, make sure you have some savings you can break into because you will not have a stable amount of money coming in each month. Lets say you take a 2 week holiday and you have no body to post articles for you, that month may be tight.

Games To Look Out For In 2013

So far 2013 looks to be a promising year for the gaming industry, which is worth more than music and film in the U.K. People just love games. This post will contain games being released later this year, early 2013 and games that are still waiting to be announced also GTA game play. So lets get this ball rolling.

DCM (Devil May Cry) Release date (15 January 2013) The game has been injected with dark and brutal game play which may redifne the game franchise. Published by Capcom and developed by ninja theory this game is very promising for those who love action. Available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Bio Shock Infinite - I never really got into Bio Shock and only purchased the first one and never bought the others but i know many people love the series so i put it in. Due to release on the 26th February 2013. This version is set in Columbia in 1912 and don't you worry its still as freaky as ever. Market price is at a respectable $59.99 USD around £40 GBP. Available on all 3 major platforms.

Why People Don't Blog About Linux

Im guessing you clicked this post or link mainly because you are a current Linux user or debating to be a Linux user, and i know there are many people who ponder around the question "Why aren't people talking about Linux more?" Its simple, there simply aren't enough Linux users out there to make it as popular online as Apple or Microsoft.

1.2% of web traffic comes from Linux users, hence why i myself don't write articles about Linux, excluding this one of course. I'm not a current Linux user, but i have used it a little bit and i don't talk about it a hole deal mainly because, whats the point?

I ain't going to go spending all my time focusing on Linux if i know im not going to get enough views. But you know, if this article goes down well then maybe i will start paying more attention to the subject.

There is more web traffic coming from Tablet computers then there are Linux, well atleast on my blog there is. And i have seen comments on other people's blogs saying "Why dont you ever talk about Linux, im a Linux user i feel you are pushing us aside" well to be honest, why complain about what others are doing and just do it yourself.

If you are a Linux user and your read this thinking about what was just said, then why do you go set an example and start up a blog souly about Linux and prove to the rest of the web that this is what you should be talking about. Don't rely on others to talk about it, i mean why should they. If Linux users are't talking about there OS then why should Windows or Mac users?

Reading back on that last paragraph, it sounds like im putting Linux users down, and im not. I have nothing against Linux. I would user Linux if they produced there own hardware along side their software. But you have to instal it on your current computer and its just not practical.

So, Linux users of the world, if you want people to talk about Linux then do it yourself to set an example. But if you don't want to start up a whole new blog then simply write for me. Email me articles about your experiences with Linux and why people should use it.

Are You A Gamer?

I love gaming, it doesn't rule my life and isn't my hobby, but i do enjoy sitting down and spend half an hour to an hour on GTA, Call Of Duty Assassins Creed or Skyrim. On the other hand many people play games all day, and most of the night. If you aren't a gamer then you may not understand the fascination but for those who are they do understand. You may look at a gamer and think they have no life, but they aren't committing crimes are they?

Playing computer games or video games is actually good for you, not to much obviously but it can help your brain function faster, not forgetting having faster reaction speeds. There is more to it.

Although im a casual gamer i do see the down sides such as children playing games that are far to violent for them. For a young child to have access to violent content may affect them in future life, causing them to be violent or distressed. There is an age limit for a reason. Adults play these games because its fun and not realistic as they know the difference from real life to the virtual world, whereas a child may struggle with the transition and pretty much become a zombie when in front of the screen.

I myself have witnessed what i like to call "Gaming Fits". My younger brother (only 3 years in difference) when distracted from his game pulls a massive "fit" screaming "you made me loose my kill streak" and many may not understand why this may be an issue, but people can simply get addicted to games.

Does Technology Rule The World?

Technology is in our everyday lives, unless we get stuck in a desert and have to eat off a decaying buffalo and sleep in a cave for weeks waiting for rescue. Ok so I've gone off topic in the first line, dread to think what the rest of this post is going to end up like.

Anyways, technology, you can't really get away from it. Its in the work place, at home and everywhere you look. So does it really rule the world? Are we too dependent on it?

Lets take a look back in time to the year 1999, for some viewers you may not remember this and i hardly do as i was only little but i can slightly remember some bits. The Year 2000 bug...

As many know, computer programs are made up of a massive sequence of 0 and 1, so how would any computer program work in the year 2000? This was the issue and many people felt the world would come to a stand still as government collapsed, banks crashed and people working with computers having to stop work. Did it happen? No it didn't for those who may be reading this for years to come and weren't even born in the wonderful 1900's.

This bring on the question Do we rely on technology to much? I mean if people panicked back then , surely things would be much worse now or in the future if computers and other technologies just stopped.

If you come to think of it, if all modern day technology, such as industrial machines, computer and portable devices such as mobile phones were all to be taken off the earth pretty much everyone would be out of a job, well presides traditional farmers and people who cut hair for a living.Hospitals gone, social structure gone, society gone, peoples lives would be gone and unfortunately, and don't cry over this -WRYM gone. Ok you not crying, but would you? Joking.But if all tech was gone, people loosing their jobs, food no longer exported to other country's. Yeah things would get pretty chaotic.

So in this post i have put forth a few reasons why i feel we will all die!... if tech was banished from the earth completely.

To get your blog recognized more online i suggest being on Twitter and Google +. These to social sites are a great way to engage with your viewers outside of your blog, and are also a great way to bring more people to your blog, after all you can promote your blog to the whole web for free!

After much thought i came to the idea that drawing my own facebook and twitter buttons i would be able to open more doors for "WRYM" There are many sites out there that can give you high quality buttons but you must have clicked this link for some reason, right? Anyhow, these buttons took me around 20mins to make so you know i put loads of effort into them.

Im joking i actually like the uniqueness of these buttons as i haven't yet found any online that are similar. STOP! Before you say i know there are pictures similar but there not buttons! I have made this easy for you as all you have to do is copy and paste the following codes into your HTML/javascript gadget in you blog or website edit page.

Drive Traffic To Your Blog For Free

If you have clicked this link in hope of grabbing yourself the knowledge to become the most famous blogger out there i am afraid to tell you that this post isn't going to give you traffic, but it will give you a few pointers.

There are many different ways of getting traffic to your blog such as SEO, advertising or those sites that send "x" amount of people to your blog in a matter of days, and many people go through with these things. I guess after a certain point in time then yes. say if you have been blogging for 5 years but i can highly doubt you would need it, but if you are just starting out in blogging then stop there!
I have been a blogger for around 2 years and during this period of time i have learned what you need to do to get those viewers in and get people to share your content. The above options are not the answer. Take a look through your stats and find out which articles are getting the most views, then focus on creating content that are in the same subject or are similar to them.

For example my articles that get viewed the most are the ones that are to do with blogging, such as the one you are reading right now. Anyway I'm getting away from the point, focus on the posts people are reading most, and if you do you are more likely to get people to share your content, in result putting your blog higher in the search engine's "free SEO" .

The key to driving more traffic to your blog is to keep your viewers happy, which means you will have to post articles they actually want to see, but have a little passion. If you haven't got any passion in what you are doing then don't bother, that's the way i see it. I would much rather read an article that talks about a subject but leaks into the writer personal stories than read an article that is mainly fact after fact. If i wanted facts i would read an encyclopaedia, and that's what makes Blogger amazing. Bloggers are more interesting because we ave passion mainly because we enjoy doing what we do rather than we have to do it.

In my experiences with getting traffic i have found that social media is a great FREE promotion boost, if you haven't already going Twitter, in my opinion it is the best for sharing links with other in the same "boat" as you.

Long Lived The Desktop

First of all sorry about the font size, slight technical glicht as the post was sent over from JBIL.
The all in ones took 2011 by storm and have pretty much wiped out the old desktops. They had a long run surviving through good and bad times as well as threats from laptops gaming and notebooks. But it has long been overdue as its been replaced with a Pc that actually sits on your lap or at your desk with out having the tower cluttering up space.

The Desktop tower PC was literally loved all over the world with a lot of stuff packed into a tower. With great specs for it all to. But now the all in ones are everywhere at least one or two in each household and a lot more in businesses too.

You can still find a few towers haunting shop shelves but not as much as they used to, due to technology evolving over the years. Okay the very few desktop tower makes out there now do still pack a punch inside them with lots of hard drive space ( Up to 1TB or more) as well as having a decent 4GB ram , but this is nothing compared to what you can now find in a laptop. The best way and the fastest way for making money from your blog would be either of the bottom 2, however advertising private ads is hard and you would have to get on all social networks to spread the word.
