Gun Control & Public Security

Many people blame the 2nd Amendment for the increase in gun violence simply because it says that we have the right to bear arms legally. Of course this right is revoked when a person is convicted of certain violent crimes or crimes that result in a felony. People think that stricter gun laws will cut back on the violence which is incorrect. History has shown that when people are prohibited from doing certain things, they tend to do it anyway… more so in fact, People love forbidden fruit. Garden of Eden, Prohibition, Marijuana, Crack epidemic etc etc etc. Based on what I've learned in criminal law classes, one on one interviews with local law enforcement, and my own personal reading, here are my thoughts.

A person screaming "gun control" won't fix anything. Most guns used in committing crimes aren't even registered. If you were truly determined to do some damage then wouldn't you want to do it in the most discreet way possible? If a person used a gun that is registered in their name in the commission of a crime then they would get caught easier. As previously stated criminals don't have gun ownership rights. In my opinion, the only way that violence involving fire arms can be curbed is to do something about society first. Mental health still isn't a widely spoken about thing in the US which is more than likely a main cause or catalyst to these types of crimes, Also parents aren't raising their children like they used to. Stricter gun laws will be akin to putting a bandage on a broken bone. Great sentiment, but not actually fixing a problem.

As far as security in public places goes, it should be tighter and of a higher standard. Security guards are out of shape and lazy, Most malls even have them riding around on Segway's so they don’t have to walk. Some companies hire security guards that haven't even been through an officer academy or any type of training to prepare them for dangerous situations so right from the start they are really not eligible for the position. Now in regards to the recent shooting in Colorado at a movie theater, sources show that the man had time to reload his gun, Where was security? Being that it was a midnight showing of a major motion picture, security should've been heightened anyway with the sheer amount of people that would be there, time of night and the fact that many people were dressed in costumes concealing their identities. While he was reloading his gun, security officers could've been taking action if they were properly trained, they might have limited the injuries and deaths. Matter of fact, the gunman purchased a ticket, slipped out the emergency door which he left propped open to come back in with his weapons, what if security was at the door and simply didn’t let him exit or return back in? Would this have been enough to deter the psycho? who knows.

In conclusion, my opinion stands that gun laws should not be revised until we as society can take into account what is really going on. No matter what is written, a person will have a firearm whether or not it is legal. Security in certain public areas should be heightened until we know how to deal with these people who wish to inflict terror into the population.

Did the Media Make 'em Do it?

I know this is probably nonsensical to many of you but its definitely make me start to wonder. In this digital day and age the levels of subconscious influence has grown astronomically, and not by coincidence either... by design. Now I'm no conspiracy theorist or anything, just your run-of-the-mill above average intelligence and common sense beholding Black man with an opened eye to the other side of the tracks. And I don't mean the side of 'urban' crime, no, something far more sinister... Corporate Greed.

The things we hear and see on a daily basis thru TV shows, Radio programs, Emails, Billboards, hell even Ads on cellphone apps now are designed for one simple thing, Mind Control. The powers that be would have us believe that the mind is this Rubik's cube of indefinable majesticness that we feeble people couldn't begin to comprehend, yet somehow we have been making artificial intelligence type products for what seems like over a decade now. Interesting.

Regardless of how you feel about this let's break it down using Occam's Razor. This is a tool mainly used to advise debating parties to use the theory of least assumption to make probably predictions of the unknown/unproven. Here's what we KNOW to be fact:

Celebrities are paid millions to appear in commercials, promote products, write songs/jingles for and boast of drinks, clothes shoes etc etc etc they don't even utilize.

Corporations Spend Billions of Dollars a year advertising these items to the Public.

People then collectively Spend Trillions a year buying these products. Many of which more so than they spend on sustenance goods.

In a single year, $13.5 BILLION DOLLARS was spent on Marketing alone representing less than 3% of the income generated (over $450Billion) according to the Business Insider (http://www.businessinsider.com/corporations-ad-spending-2011-6)... And did I mention that's just from 4 American companies?

Is this a coincidence? Luck? Is there really some elaborate explanation that has this happening every minute of every hour or every day of every week of every month of every year for the last 125yrs? Or is the more likely answer that Corporations know something we don't about HOW to market to their target audience? And have a surefire level of mental control over their consumer prey?

Seems pretty naïve to me to think otherwise, but what are your thoughts?

The Complement vs. Supplement Guide to Dating

The opposite of being Happy is not Sad, its Apathy. Many people don't understand why they remain unhappy in pending/current relationships because they don't take the time to evaluate this fact. To do this I have plotted out a simple way to see what type of Qualities you should be looking for in another; so you can not be sad, or numb… but be Happy with someone.

Complement: to enhance a quality to make complete.
Supplement: to fill a deficiency to make whole, or Perfect.

The deficient part of the white is Supplemented by the black and vice versa while the red Complements the same areas enhancing the abundant portion.

Now while these two sound very similar there is definitely a fine line that makes all the difference in the world between you feeling fulfilled, and you feeling bitter and empty. The first mistake you may have made is not knowing yourself enough to know what you want vs. need in a relationship, Most people only selfishly pay attention to the former. You should not be diving blindly into and relinquishing control of your heart to different people on a whim, Make sure they are even worth your time. To do this you must know your Good and Bad qualities to determine first what you NEED from another person, for them to Complement, or increase the potency of that quality; or Supplement, fill the remaining void you are deficient in that instance.

If you know you are typically frantic in situations, would you want someone like you who complements that, joining in your excitedness making you more frantic? Or someone on the opposite spectrum who Supplements the clear-headedness and Patience you are missing to be able to Calm you down?

If you know you are personally strong willed, hard working and determined for success, do you want someone who will complement that by challenging you, positively, to be better than you are? Or someone who Supplements by being lackluster and uninspired so that you feel more important as caretaker?

Believe it or not these may sound like obvious answers but they aren't. Some people like when everyone is as overly excited as themselves because it registers as engaging and there are PLENTY of people that date people they feel are "safe" out of fear of being left or because it makes sense Logically. The important part is to know who you are so that you can make the right choice BEFORE you get in too far with someone emotionally. If you take a little time every week and be real with yourself, write down a quality you've noticed you have and decide whether its Good or Bad for you, then you can determine the Qualities the Yin to your Yang will need to have to make your union complete. Keep in mind, It’s much easier to find what you seek if you know what you're actually looking for.

I do not agree with that saying, everything we experience and grow from throughout life is stored in our BRAINS! So WHY THE HELL wouldn't you open your eyes to THINK and do the logical thing when faced with problems? Using your heart instead of your intelligence is like a coach thumbing through a color by number book instead of his playbook in preparation for a big game. When you touch something scolding hot.. does your sympathy tell you it's painful or does your brain make you retract? Come on now... it's that simple

I guess it's human nature to act on emotions. But it's truly SAD to see how many people put themselves through the same BS over & over & over again because they're too caught up in feelings other then stepping out of their own shoes, looking at the big picture, and applying cold hard facts & reason to situations in order to break the hopeless cycle.

Though your heart might be the thing that keeps you alive... don't forget that it has the utmost power to kill you.

College Students, Credit, and a Career

Due to the rising costs of tuition, books, and housing a college education seems impossible to pay for at times. Because of the competition of the job force, it is becoming a necessity. Over the next few years, a Bachelor's Degree will become the new High School Diploma causing many people to continue their education further than expected. With all of these factors often comes student loans to help pay for school, and credit cards to help pay off of those loans. Because of how loans are done now, you don't have to start paying on them until after you graduate. Seems like a simple harmless solution right? It all depends on how you manage your finances.

It's not a wise thing to get too many credit cards throughout your college years, however; store credit cards are a good way to build your credit. Beware of high interest rates on credit cards that'll make paying them off almost impossible. Paying your bills on time is also a good way to improve your credit. Bad credit can prevent you from getting more than your dream car or home.

After graduation, it is hard to find the job that you want. For the time being, many people just get what they can. Did you know that your credit can prevent you from getting a good job? It doesn't matter how clean your criminal background is or how many achievements you have. If your credit is bad, say good bye to that job. Jobs that often check your credit are in the criminal justice, security, or finance industries. You don't want to mess up a good opportunity at a career for irresponsibility so practice good money habits while in college.

Most people at some time in their life have had a bad habit which may be known as "having a monkey on one's back". This habit could be promiscuous sex, getting back into a bad relationship, smoking, drinking, gossiping, etc. Whatever it is, it's not good for you nor the people that may be involved. The truth is that people don't have bad habits just to have them. There is something so strong that keeps a hold onto that won't let you go. This is not for those that know they have a bad habit. This is for those that want to help get rid of it.

The first step in trying to get rid of a problem is admitting that you have one, You can't get better being in denial. It is important to try to figure out where does it comes from. Here are some examples of problems and possible sources of the problem.

Many people get stuck going back and forth to bad relationships. Are you afraid that you will not find anyone else? Do you not think that you deserve better? People that gossip seem to be seeking attention or acceptance. People that are always suspicious of others may not be able to trust their selves. Whatever the problem that you have, you need to find the source.

The best way of getting rid of any problem is changing your thought pattern. Actions comes from your thoughts so try to either broaden your horizon or spend some alone time doing serious thinking. Once your mind is changed, you won't have the desire to do that action anymore. Be careful with this though, The fact that you may have a problem is a red flag that maybe this can not be solved alone. Try to find someone to talk with unbiased opinions or do some reading on your problem. Whatever it is try not to do it completely alone. Most importantly if you have serious problems and don't want to pay for a Doctor visit, go to http://www.drphil.com/. If he can't help you, then you're just screwed.

Males In Music: Does Sexual Preference Matter?

Being a celebrity automatically makes someone a target for scrutiny because people are so quick to judge others. Many people that are judged the most are the ones in the music industry. For some reason, there is an obsession with a person's sexual preference. When it comes to sexual preference, it seems as though male r&b artists can't win for losing. On the other hand, male rappers seem to be thought as an epitome for masculinity.

Many people are so quick to call male R&B artist's gay because of their music. They write music that ladies love, and aren't too afraid to show emotion. Since when is respecting a woman the way a man should supposed to be gay? Male rappers often are looked up to as "masculine" because of the content in their music and videos. A man that's comfortable enough to show emotion is a real man, but being materialistic does not make a man anymore masculine. I thought loving to shop was a female trait anyway. Rappers' lyrics are often full of anger (which may be insecurities), and sexually explicit lyrics (that may be curious). Their videos often promote bisexual activity among women, If a rapper is comfortable enough to promote female on female action, then I think that he may like a little man on man action too. Both are equally disgusting, and preferring one over the other is a sick double standard. They often sag their pants too. How many straight men want another man looking at him in his draws, and call their self pretty?

I'm just saying since people are so quick to judge male R&B artists, put rappers under the same scope. It isn't fair, and it shows immaturity.

Age Aint Nothing But A Number?

Everyone has heard the timeless saying "Age is nothing but a number" But in today's society what does age actually determine? The reality of things is age determines more than we realize. When's the last time you've seen a twelve year old hanging out with a group of eighteen year olds? I assure you it's very rare. In all actuality age determines who we befriend, who we date, even activities we can partake in. Many fail to realize that once you are in a particular age group you're expected to act a certain way and behave differently. But who determines when someone is too old or too young to partake in such activities, say certain things, or even wear certain clothes? Who deems them age prohibited and what gives them that power?

Not only does society determine things for you by age, they deem if you’re: intelligent, naïve, or just plain immature based on your age. Once you hit a certain age milestone society automatically expects you to maintain a certain mind frame and process things mentally unlike others that are younger than you and unlike the way you may previously have thought. And what happens when you don't process thoughts as well as you should or you can't solve an issue or even control your actions as one would expect of someone of age? Society writes you off and makes judgment with no knowledge of you. So in society what are age's really worth? Are they just a number as everyone says, or are they really the underlying guideline to society?

Trust

Many fail to realize that trust and forgiveness go hand in hand. What does it take for someone to gain your trust? And what would it take for them to lose all the trust you may have previously instilled in them? When do you forgive and when do you dare not let the person back in your life? A simple slip up, or a large mistake? Would the severity of the action they commit make your feelings differ any or would you merely write them off because a slip up is a slip up ?

I'm sure many can relate to being on one side or the other. How does it feel to be the one who has lost all trust they have in someone, and how does it feel to lose someone's trust? Are there any exceptions for forgiving them or are you merely going to come down with a firm hand and say anything one may do under any circumstance to lose your trust is unacceptable. If you've lost all trust in someone the hardest thing to do is accept them no matter what conditions may be.

Apologies only work to a certain extent and one may not realize that many things just aren't actions you can commit and apologize for. And losing someone's trust isn't much easier when done so all one yearns for is a chance and forgiveness. The question is once that bridge of trust has fallen in any sense of relationship, where is the middle ground? Where do both sides meet? Or is the reality of the situation truthfully, there is not a middle ground?

People vs Animals: Where is the love?

One of the things that does not makes sense are society's priorities. As we can see above, people campaign for animal rights, but wouldn't give an unborn child a chance at life. I do not condone animal cruelty, but a human's life does not get any respect. In some cases a person can get more time for harming an animal then for killing a person whether born or unborn. Let's compare and contrast some facts.

Spaying and neutering pets can help keep the animal population down, but abortion can be harmful for women.
A fertilized egg starts to multiply it's cells within seconds after conception. Organisms are the only things that can have cell replication.
According to Genesis 1:28, humans have rights to use the earth as needed, and are also commanded to be fruitful and multiply.

I am in no way for animal cruelty because certain actions are just unnecessary. I'm just saying that you should not feel bad for wanting that leather purse, fur coat, or steak cooked well done. One of the plagues of Egypt in Exodus 11 instructed the Jews to kill a lamb. In the New Testament, fish were mentioned to be eaten many times. We should not deprive ourselves of what nature has to offer.

People say that life doesn't begin until birth. If this were truth, then why would prenatal care be important? If you do not want to have kids, but think that you may be pregnant then consider the alternatives. Many people that can not have kids naturally would love to have a child of their own. You never know what good they may bring to the world. It's a sad day when animals get better treatment than humans. Finally, no, abortion is NOT a woman's right to choose because that is not your life that you are ending. You lived yours. Give someone else a chance.

“Hoes”: Who is to Blame?

There seems to be a negative stigma concerning increased promiscuity among females. Most of us have come to call this select group of females, hoes. Now in dealing with “hoes”, most wouldn’t hesitate to criticize, frown upon and denounce their “loose” ways. We as people tend to “call it how we see it” and with that being said…It is…what it is.

But who do we blame? Who exactly do we owe this “dilemma” to? I speak of simple cause-and-effect. What is the actual cause of the commonly associated “hoe”? Readers…some of you might get mad. Well we can go ahead and probably blame men. Someone has to be honest…besides…women will love me after this one.

On a serious note, in our adolescent years it is known that not only do females mature tend physically faster than males, but somewhat emotionally. Even before their male counterparts, girls are already going through deeper interpersonal connections. It’s partly this reason that it seems as though women are a lot more ready for a relationship while men aren’t. What’s my point? We don’t love them hoes.

Scenario: Basically when a female has invested her emotions in a relationship she’s already given a part of “herself”. Her partner is more stoic in his nature and sees the relationship only for its benefits and not the sentimental and intrinsic values. Eventually, the relationship deteriorates and the female’s feelings have been tossed aside and her “giving” is taken for granted. Her “love” is betrayed…aka she’s been “f*cked over”. It’s at this point where a female will turn into our loosely termed “hoe”. Some women will take on a more Machiavellian attitude, doing what they need to do by any means necessary, completely forgetting the emotional, binding and most importantly the exclusive aspect of a partnership. Other women after that first disregard of their emotional needs will be all too hasty in trying to find new love, refusing to use logic and rational thought in courting a new partner. Yes, I just said courting.

In laymen’s turns…hoes have us men to blame for their “demeaning” ways. Are hoes bad? That’s completely irrelevant to my point. I expect my p*ssy count to quintuple after this article.

A Letter to Haters

Dear Haters,

You are as fake as your lack of an attempt to get to know the one that you hate on. Your assumptions have already spoken volumes about you, and the person that you hate on is already better than you. The same ones that you talk about others to will talk about you too, but you're too caught up in your judgments to see that. You subliminally call out people and talk behind their backs because you are a coward. Your words only strengthen the one that you can't stand because your negativity only encourages them. The fact that you'd rather listen to word of mouth instead of going to the source says a lot about your maturity, or in this case your lack thereof. The more you hate on someone the more you choose your fate because God will make you out to be a footstool so I hope you're ready to bear that weight. Now you can either heed to the warning like the smart person that you portray yourself to be, or you could continue to be your own downfall. Either way it's your choice, but don't be surprised when your face hits the floor.

Just Be Yourself

So one thing that took me longer to realize than it should have is that there are too many “personalities” in this world,There is no way in Gods name you could make all of them happy. It’s in our nature to want to make other people happy, especially the people that mean most to us. I would be depressed my entire life if that meant my mother and brother would be happy for the rest of theirs. But there is also no way that you can make everyone in your life happy, So how about starting with yourself first? That would make most sense. If you being happy causes someone else to be unhappy, well that may just have to be too bad for them.

The way I see it, the people that mean most to you would love to see you happy, its in their nature. Be yourself, make yourself happy and everything else will hopefully fall into place. No one can be you better than you can.

Age vs Experience

People don’t understand how important this is in any circumstance you’re in. How many times have you been in a situation where people automatically want to deem your opinion as valid just because of your age? We all know that age can go hand in hand with experience but at the same time there are old people that are naive and young people that know much beyond their years.

Personally, I' am 18 and was holding down a full time job, going to school, playing basketball for my school and still managed time to chill wit the people that i wanted to. Meanwhile, how many of us know people older than us that are doing absolutely nothing with their lives?

People have no idea what situations others have been in or if they may have been forced to grow up faster than may have had to. Age doesn’t really count for anything but experience does.

Take advice from someone with more experience then you… regardless of Age

I think that people throw this word around too freely. like they have a billion “friends” on twitter, a few hundred on twitter and tumblr… and those are your “friends”?

Honestly, if you can count 5 real friends in your life right now consider yourself a lucky person. Someone that knows when you’re upset, even when you don’t make it obvious. Someone you can make fun of and can make fun of you; Someone that knows your highs and lows; Someone who when something is going wrong and you’re looking for people to help you and you’re skimming through your contacts, they’re the person you stop and call or text.

A lot of people just like to party with you and make jokes with you because well, that’s the easy part. Being a friend is a lifetime job, no part-time over here. A True, Real friend has to be able to tell you things no one else can. So How many Friends Do You Really Have?

Does Your Vote Matter? Will it in 2031?

Did you know that in 2006 you, as a minority, could very easily not have the right to vote in some states? The Voting Act of 1965 that outlawed restricting Voting Rights based off Race/Color (due to slavery) has to be Renewed and I didn’t know that… until today.

Your boy, George W. Bush Jr, was actually the one to renew the Act during his second term in office to renew the act for another 25years, until 2031, so I guess he did do something right while in office. I will have to amend my thoughts on thinking he was worthless. Now I am not entirely sure as to why this law is even up for debate personally but I do have a few questions…

1) Why has there been no Amendments for it to cover all States?

2) Why is it to be renewed every 25years instead of Permanent?

3) Why was it brought up to vote if the timeframe could be lowered from 25years to 10?

The Acts text doesn’t specifically state the answers to these questions but there are some things I have deciphered from it that make logical sense (doesn’t make them fact by any means, but plausible). As you see from the Picture above, the Dark Blue areas are the areas affected most by this law that can not change this act without Federal Approval. Granted these were all slave states Pre Civil war, but we shouldn’t forget that the north oppressed slaves too, they just didn’t make them work on fields. And furthermore this isn’t the case today so why hasn’t it changed? Something I noticed after reading the act limits the ability for state Ballots limit the languages without Federal Approval… why are all the states/areas affected also where the highest levels of immigration into the US are recorded? Coincidence? Are the seeking a way to make it harder for people who don’t speak English as a primary langue to vote? Maybe even English speaking people of lower education levels as they did in the 60’s to restrict slaves from understanding the Ballots? Seems so.

Now I have not yet found why every 25 years was the listed time frame 45years ago but that’s besides the point, the fact that it is trying to be lowered to 10years shows me an intent that I am not looking forward to. Why else would this Act even get enough steam to be brought to the floor to be voted upon, even though it lost by 2/3rds vote, 5 times since 1975? Obviously there is a want to change this Law and with the lower and lower voter turn out year after year it seems some people in government are trying to capitalize on the “My Vote Doesn’t Matter” babies that mainly High School/College Drop outs have adopted as an excuse not to make it to the polls. Things hittin’ home for you yet?

Since History seems to be cyclical, how long do you think it’ll take before someone gets oppressed yet again? Whites had their turn in the past and typically own most of the capital in the US… Hispanics are gaining in numbers and expected to be the Majority within the next 30years, which means their voting numbers will increase drastically… if Blacks keep adopting this Catch22 logic: My Vote wont bring change, so I wont vote, not voting means the government cant cater to the change you want, therefore change wont happen, then we will quickly become new age slaves once again by our own doing.

Even if you choose not to vote, please stay in your ignorance alone and encourage others to learn and find their own path. The US Government is 3 Branches, if you only participate in 1 you have to understand that you have not done nearly enough to bring about the change you are seeking.

How To Keep A Man

Don't Suffocate Him
When a man feels like he is suffocated that makes him want to go outside to get air so to say. Air represents another woman. If you give him space, he can breath and continue to move forward with you.

Privacy is Key
Some females think its okay to check their man phone since that is who they are with. The problem is if the man feels as if he is always being watched then it may hurt in the communication department. He will start deleting his text/calls and possibly not feel as open to tell you things.

Don't Interrogate, Where Is The Trust?
Alot of females have trust issues because all we are used to is hurt. But not every man's motive is to hurt or cheat. If you accuse your man of cheating. You just broke the trust that he thought you had in him. That hurt him like it would have hurt you if he did cheat.

Appreciation
A man sometimes needs to feel wanted. It's okay to have your guard up because you are afraid of getting hurt but men need attention. If they don't get the attention, love, appreciation they could be getting from you that might cause them to roam elsewhere since it seems as if you don't care.

There are many ways to keep a man but you can't stop someone from leaving if they want to go.

Those that are desperate to be in a relationship are scared. They think they cannot make it on their own. Instead of relying on their own intelligence, they rely on their sexuality. Does anyone just date any more without having to sleep with that person? Dating to find the right partner is what it is all about. Not hooking up with every one you meet.

There are many beautiful woman that would love this man. He has chosen the 'bottom of the barrel' road that will, almost certainly, end in disaster. Why would he choose her? In answer to your question; men are taking advantage of the young women that do no have enough self respect, self esteem, or faith in themselves to provide for themselves. So long as young women have no respect for themselves; men will have no respect for women.

The big deal is that until women find a way to value themselves, in a way other than sex, women will never be equal. You have adopted a "manly" point of view. Barely legal women, with no self respect, will continue to allow men to cheat, divorce or ruin any relationship they are in. I don't think sleeping around is the right answer. It only makes us victims. I think we need to educate young women to know they are more important than they ever thought.

It is a big deal! It is about self esteem. If you have none you will never know the joy of love!Desperation cause you to be easily pushed. Women should never be dependent.Woman hold the key to life so why shouldn't you as a woman feel powerful? Its okay to not want to not want to be lonely but it's not cute being desperate. When men know you're easy they use it as an advantage. Stop forgiving unforgivable acts. Stop planning and demand plans. Stop giving your body to every dimpled smile or light eyes. Stop blowing up your significant others phone and wait to be called. Stop catering to so much to the point where you have no time for yourself and be catered to. LOVE is not life its a part of it.

Abortion: Right or Wrong?

This is such a touchy subject but something that could affect someones life so much. Personally, I believe that having abortion being legal is the only logical thing to do. But the problem arises because some people believe that life begins in one of two separate places. One group thinks that life begins when the baby is born into the world. while others believe that life begins when the sperm meets the egg. The way I see it, it really doesnt matter where life begins because of one phrase, “who’s body? who’s choice?” In the 1970’s abortion became legal because women have the right to make decisions about their own reproductive systems.

For those that know their facts, a fetus’ heart begins to pump after about 3 weeks and the brain functions after about a month and a half. 88% of abortions happen in the first trimester should be considered by people who are against it [1]. That means that most of the people having these abortions are people that clearly know they are not ready for that commitment and should be given the option of not having the baby.

We all know that we should be careful when having sex but stuff happens sometimes. I can make these opinions pro-abortion a bit easier just cuz i'm personally not physically the one carrying the baby and having to deal with the emotional stress part of things. But if you take away the option of abortion, tell me which you think is harder, giving up a baby that hasnt been born yet or a baby youve held in your hands and know its yours.

Alot of people say they have to be responsible for their actions but isnt going for abortion being responsible? Aside from the scientific benefits with stem-cell research and all that, we need it for the people that are forced to grow up faster than they would have liked to.

The TRUE Meaning of Halloween

What is it all about?

Halloween, All saints day, All hallows eve or All souls day is a festival. It was held to honor the Samhain the so called "lord of death". It was a Druidical belief that on the eve of this festival Samhain, lord of death, called together the wicked spirits that within the past 12 months had been condemned to inhabit the bodies of animals.

It was a pagan belief that on one night of the year the souls of the dead return to their original homes, there to be entertained with food. If food and shelter were not provided, these evil spirits would cast spells and cause havoc toward those failing to fulfill their requests.

Sacrifices were offered on this night to the dead spirits because it was thought they visited their earthly dwellings and former friends.

There was a prevailing belief among all nations that at death the souls of the good men were taken possession of by good spirits and carried to paradise; but the souls of the wicked men were left to wonder in the space between the earth and the moon, or consigned to the unseen world. These wandering spirits were in the habit of haunting the living...But there were means by which ghosts might be exorcised.

To exorcise these ghosts, that is to free yourself from their evil sway, you would have to set out food and provide shelter for them during the night. If they were satisfied with your offerings, they would leave you in peace. If not, they were believed to cast an evil spell on you.

In modern day Satanism and Witchcraft covens, this is the day when Satan himself comes to "fellowship" with his followers. Many changes have occurred over the centuries, but one thing ha stayed the same, the practice of giving an "offering" has stayed the same. Oh we do it under the name of fun but what is the real meaning? Is it still the same as in the old days? I say the answer is YES.

The Christian Connection

The celebration in the Roman Catholic Church, which was later to merge with Samhain, was known as All Saints' Day. All Saints' Day originated in the 7th century when the Pantheon at Rome was wrested from the barbarians, made into a cathedral, and renamed the Church of the Blessed Virgin and All Martyrs. Thus, from honoring "all gods" (which is the meaning of the Greek word "pantheon") the Pantheon became the center for glorifying all saints.

This day that honored all the "hallowed" saints was first observed on the evening of May 13, and was known as the All hallows festival. The day was officially authorized in 835 by Pope Gregory IV after it was moved to November 1 to coincide with Samhain. It began on the evening of October 31, which was called All Hallows Eve.

Thus, without forcing the pagans to drop their pagan practices and accept Christianity, the Roman Catholic church merely made room to accommodate the barbarians.

Just as it confiscated the pagan Pantheon for its own uses, this church incorporated the customs of Samhain to further its mission to convert the known world to Catholicism.

The two celebrations made strange bedfellows: one in respect of evil spirits, the other honoring "saints."

Nevertheless, the joining of the two celebrations produced a hybrid of beliefs about what was supposed to happen in the spirit world. Souls in purgatory appeared as witches and toads to persons who had wronged them. Halloween fires took on a new meaning and now were used to comfort souls in purgatory as people prayed while holding burning straw in the air.

Even the idea of trick-or-treating by evil spirits took on an acceptable church flavor: costumed children went around on All Souls Day offering to fast for the departed souls in return for money or an offering.

As the Celts converted to the new religion, they did not forget their stories of the dead traveling to the afterworld on Halloween. Rather, exhibitions of this night became more evil and the observance adopted even more malicious overtones.

Where do Witches, Black cats and Jack-O-Lanterns fit in?

In America it's a pumpkin, but in Europe it was often a turnip, large beet, potato, rutabaga or even a skull with a candle in it. The fearsome face of the jack-o-lantern was representative of the god of the dead, Shamin, who would drive off less powerful evil spirits abroad that night. As glimmering lights flickered over an English marsh or an Irish bog, people imagined dead souls had returned to earth. They would place the jack-o-lantern on posts and in windows to ward off the spirits of the dead on Halloween.

The word jack-o-Lantern is an abbreviation of "Jack of the Lantern." Jack is another name for joker or Satan. In the Irish tale, a man named Jack was fond of playing tricks on the devil. Annoyed, the devil tossed Jack a burning coal from hell. With the coal in his "lantern" Jack was condemned to walk the earth forever searching for rest.

The jack-o-lantern is a Halloween idol that keeps alive an ancient symbol of demonic superstition.

Witches and Black Cats

A pagan practice that was not eradicated upon the coming of Christianity was witchcraft. The word "witch" comes from the Anglo-Saxon Wicca, or "wise one." Witches were thought to be possessors of magic.

Witches, who worship the deities of nature, have living talismans or symbols through which they derive their dark powers. They invoke evil spirits to enter the bodies of their talismans. Some have dogs, owls, snakes or swine for their talismans, but the most common are cats.

The broomstick is a symbol of the male organ, on which the witch mounts and leaps high around the fields to "teach" the crops how high to grow. The notion of flying witches relates to the fact that witches believed they could fly great distances to their feasts by smearing their bodies with ointments containing drugs. The drugs gave them psychedelic "trips" making them think they flew.

Witchcraft is demonic worship in diametric opposition to the worship of the Heavenly Father Yahweh. Yahweh minces no words about it. He told Israel through Moses, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" (Ex. 22:18). He says in Deuteronomy 18:10, "There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch."

Cats have been closely associated with mystery religion from the Egyptians to the Norse. But the Celts had a particular fear of cats, believing they were humans who had been changed into feline form by evil powers. The black cat particularly was connected to demonic powers.

Black cats are the chief idol of the goddess of Wicca, Diana. In legend, she turns into a black cat to commit incest with her brother, Lucifer. Eventually the Druids themselves came to be regarded as witches. Witch hunting during Halloween became almost a national pastime in the colonial years of our nation. But that was yesterday. Halloween is regarded as the high "Sabbath" for practicing witches today.

Orange, black, and red, the devil's colors, are the colors associated with Halloween. Black prefigures black magic and demonic influence. The black of night is when these forces of evil are busiest, using the cover of darkness for their sinister works.

Skulls and Skeletons

The skeleton is a form of the god of the dead, the witches' "horned god." The Dictionary of Satanism by Wade Baskin says this about skulls and skeletons under "skull worship": "Skulls play an important role as sacred relics and as objects of worship among primitives. Among Polynesians and Melanesians, skulls of ancestors are worshiped in order to establish connections with the spirits of the dead. Like the head of Osiris in Egypt, the skulls of ancestors may also serve as tutelar deities. The head or its parts, each of which may stand for the whole, can be used as magical food or as a means of increasing the fertility of the soil." Under "Skull," the Dictionary of Lore and Legend says, "Symbol of death, often with crossed bones beneath."

Fire Rites

Being that Halloween is a Celtic new year's festival, many of its surviving rituals trace to the Celtic feast. The fire rite was practiced in many areas around the world on the night before the new year. The old fire was allowed to go out and a new one was kindled—usually a sacred fire from which the fires of the village were relit. The fires were thought to rejuvenate the waning sun and aid in banishing evil spirits. The Druids built hilltop fires to celebrate important festivals. Ghosts and witches feared fire, it was thought, and so fire became the best weapon against evil spirits. Witchcraft was punished by burning at the stake, fire being used as a means purification. The light that fires gave off was a sign of sacredness.

Apple Bobbing

Popular at Halloween parties is apple bobbing. It was a means of divination among the Druids and survives in cultures influenced by the Celts. Because the apple is also a common love charm, the practice of ducking for apples seems to have been associated with the selection of a lover. Apple bobbing was originally a fertility rite deriving from the Christmas observance, which was replete with various fertility rites.

Is Halloween a TRICK or TREAT?

Most absolutely a TRICK. As you can see from all the above the real meaning of Halloween has been watered down. It is Satan's objective to get all to worship him. God tells us to not have any thing to do with this.

Peter I 5:8 Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour.

1Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

If you are a professing Christian, you have no reason to be part of this holy day of Satan. Don't use the old cop out "well every body does it". No everybody is not doing it. God will hold you responsible for what you do this Halloween. Will you go ahead and participate in it? Or will you pass along the word and let someone know what the real meaning is.

Is Death Row Necessary?

Is death row necessary? No, i'm not talking about the record label, i'm talking about a person in a prison where they eventually will be killed. These people did something so terrible that they had to die, but does anyone question the morality of killing someone because of a crime they committed. Taking someones life for the purpose of what? Getting them off the street? Proving a point?

A lot of people will say something like “You have to put yourself in the position of those families that have suffered” blah blah blah. Thats why they invented a prison, to take these people off the street and put them behind bars. Does anyone question the efficiency of the death penalty as a whole and all the mistakes that have been going on with the whole process. If you look at the graph you can see the inefficiency of the death penalty and longer sentences is actually 15x more efficient.

In the last 30 or so years there have been 130 cases of people who have been released from death row, Just imagine all the people that have died for nothing.

i mean honestly, does life sentence not work for these people? if the initial plan is to take these people off the streets to make them safer while giving families the satisfaction of justice then lock them up and make them suffer. Let them think about their situation and why they are responsible for it for the rest of their lives instead of doing them a favor. It just doesn’t work.

Then there are cases like Tookie Williams, (if you dont know who he is, google him), where he does something wrong but tries to turn his life around and writes a book telling people his story and how they shouldnt go down that path. Instead of letting him try to keep making a difference, they kill him.

So is Death Row necessary? No, it's inhumane and there are other solutions that are more efficient and effective in making society a better place to live.

If Money Buys Happiness… Why are Celebs Sad?

News about celebrities being criminally charged on different basis are nothing new or surprising nowadays. It has become small talk that raises a few eyebrows and is dismissed with a shrug. The celebrities involved in these kinds of events go from hardcore repeat offenders like DMX or T.I. to sweethearts like Bruno Mars or Chris Brown. The logical self-imposed question is Why? What makes a person living a life of luxury and comfort everybody dreams about put their lives and careers in danger doing unnecessary illegal things?
So far these questions seem rhetorical because there is no real and fully comprehensive answer. There are, however, several elements that they all have in common that could put some light on the whole mystery.
The first thing we have to keep in mind is that at the end of the day, celebrities are just regular human beings when the spotlights are off. They have their problems, demons from the past and insecurities which come from the high expectations society has from them. But do any of us have to wake up in the morning and see our dirty laundry on front pages of tabloids or on blogs run by random envious people?

The phrase “More money , more problems” sounds absurd to the people living paycheck to paycheck who are burdened by financial challenges every day. Money seems like the magic savior that can make all problems disappear. Before reaching superstar status Celebrities also believed their everyday problems will be neutralized and swept away as their bank account grows. Unfortunately, that bubble bursts as soon as they realize shopping sprees, expensive vacations and the absence of financial problems really don't fill the emotional void, nor do they exorcise the demons from their minds. Once they get to that reality slap they find themselves cornered, They no longer see any way out of their problems since the things they counted on for salvation failed them.

The confusion that celebrities go through in those moment is actually the crucial breaking point where they make the choices that we read and talk about. Some are strong enough to overcome pressure through expressing their fears and doubts in their careers, Some get in touch with their spiritual side, but some take the the less fortunate route while turning to wild parties, drugs, sex & alcohol abuse; possibly even starting “beef” which escalates to violence between them, other celebs and even fans. For Attention they will also get into scandalous love affairs or make any other reckless move to keep themselves in the media but at the same time to keep people from knowing about their real fears and insecurities.

However stressful their lives might be, that still doesn't justify the illegal activities and bad influence they have on their fans (which are mostly easily influence teenagers). That kind of irresponsible behavior is wrong in any shape or form caused by any life circumstance. The money and luxury they have make their actions even more out of place, because regular people go through difficulties every day and they still manage to focus on the positive things in life and continue their struggle.

As big of a cliché as it might be, people need to face the truth… “Money can't buy happiness.” If a person is not morally, intellectually and spiritually rich there is no way the can appreciate material wealth and use it to improve their lives, not to mention the lives of others. Considering the fact that people are entering show business at an extremely young age today, we can only expect this absurd trend to continue. Skipping childhood and being pushed into the grown up world at a tender, immature age increases the chances of the world reading about another celebrity jailbird .

There aren't any changes in sight , so debating this issue too much would probably just be a waste of energy. Hopefully celebrities will at least take the effect their behavior has on their fans into consideration and think before they make irresponsible choices. It would definitely benefit EVERYONE… including themselves.

Why Men Find Women Complicated

Not saying that every woman is complicated but generally speaking as a whole, you women are the most complicated of both genders. It's never this or that with you girls, it's this AND that or you say you want this but you actually want that.

Lemme explain my logic:

Guys aren't complicated because everyone on the earth can name things that satisfy men and it's not rocket science. We ask that the girls don't talk too damn much and don't wine all the time. If we have food, video games and some "good good", we’re basically set. Thats it.

But with women, it's you want a “nice” guy cuz you're tired of the @*sholes…. BS.Ya'll don't get tired of nuttin'! Ya'll want the jerk sometimes and sometimes ya'll want a nice guy. So you basically wanna go out with two separate people. And when I made this argument with some girl the other day, she goes, "well you guys want a 'lady in the street and a freak in the sheets.'" But the difference is that the saying is telling you how to act and when each role is appropriate. Us men have to basically guesstimate when to be nice and when not to be.

Is this confusion from the females that frustrate men and on top of the fact that women are just hard to please, (not to mention moody as all hell.) Why do you think you put mad girls in one house and you get a show, Bad Girls Club. You put mad dudes in a house and you’ll see them bringing random girls through, eating and playing video games.

Women are like a long word problem cuz you could get through the whole process of tryna figure out the problem, work it out, find out the answer and you could still get it wrong.

I believe so many girls don't even know what they really want. *shrug*. But they all surely expect us to!

I'm gonna catch heat for this one but idc, it's just what I think. Not ALL girls fall into this though, I'm just generalizing. So, if you're a woman that's not complicated, then you're an exception to the rule and this obviously doesn't apply to you.

I Need Space

When you are in a relationship. In the beginning it may be heavenly. I call it the honeymoon stage. But as time surpasses, that stage wears off. Sometimes, if one of the partners wants a break in the relationship, the other may automatically assume it's over. But the truth is, all good things have to come to an end. Even if it's temporary. If he/she is saying that they want space, they are starting to lose feelings and they want to make sure that they really do want to be in the relationship instead of leading you on. I can say from a females prospective, there does come a point when we need to muster up some courage and just tell whoever we are with whether or not we want to date that person anymore. Waiting around for someone who doesn't want you could hurt even more than the break in the relationship. If it is companionship that's missed, the female is just afraid of change because she's already hurting you by saying this. Don't be overbearing because that leads to feeling overwhelmed.
