Three of the original PS2 launch models (SCPH-10000, SCPH-15000, and SCPH-18000) were only sold in Japan, and lacked the expansion bay of current PS2 models. Since bursting into homes in 1994, the Sony PlayStation has taken the world of video games by storm. It doesn't seem poised to end there either, as PlayStation's current incarnation, the PS3, has sold over 40 million units worldwide since 2006. The general design of the PlayStation model has remained fairly faithful to the original brief, a next-gen, CD-based take on the popular cartridge-based models of the day.
The control pads take their cues from the early ergonomic pads used by the SNES or Sega Mega Drive, and this, in my opinion, is where the humble PS won out over the Nintendo 64 and still wins out over the Xbox. Talking about control pads in lieu of software specs or even games may seem crass, but consider this; the controller is the part of you that connects to the game. It's the interface between man and machine. Why else would they now come equipped with rumble effects and all sorts of gadgetry?
Whereas other console's controllers can be hard-edged, almost square (any old-timers remember the Dreamcast? What was up with that!?) and have buttons placed too far apart to reach one-handed, or reach in a hurry without A LOT of practice; the PlayStation has always boasted a pad that fits right there in your palms and can be adapted to suit any number of innovative styles of button-bashing. Much to my friends' annoyance, I assure you.
The fact that anybody can pick up a PS of any model and be fairly familiar with the controls is a major contributing factor to PlayStation's longevity. The other was a free-for-all policy that Sony wisely employed back in the 90's. Sony invited anyone and everyone to design games for them, which led to a huge influx of fresh ideas, designers and innovations (as well as fuelling a secondary industry of game magazines and online reviewers). So, when Sega or Nintendo had 50 or so games on their fledgling devices, PlayStation adverts confidently emblazoned their logo with the tagline '200 Games' it didn't matter that a lot of these games were complete and utter rubbish, what mattered was that first-time gamers were spoiled for choice.
It has to be said that PlayStation's M.O hasn't changed significantly since then. It is still the most cost-effective, user-friendly, and widely owned system around. It still boasts a huge collection of games (a good many of which are unfortunately still arse) and it still has the unnerving Bowie-esque ability to completely re-invent itself every few years without changing what made us love it in the first place.

Time Crisis: Crisis Zone
Great shooter game like it's predecessors Time Crisis 2 & 3. You start of with a machinegun instead of a handgun, (trust me you'll need it). One major drawback however is that it's only a one player game and you cannot use two guns when playing as one player. The instuctions say you can use two GUNCON 2 controllers for portions of the game, however after playing two levels of the game, I have not found a way to activate it. You might have to earn the ability to use two guns. I am very ticked-off about this. Maybe after playing the game more I'll figure it out. I've only played the game for 2 1/2 hours before writing this review. Thought I would warn potential buyers before they purchase it. Still, it's a Kick-B*tt game, but would be much better if you could use 2 guns.

Fast paced game with great graphics however, Unlike Time Crises 2 and 3 its somewhat mindless in the sense you point the machine gun in the direction of the bad guys and just shoot.. This game has one gun, at least in the early levels you can use the machine gun only. The bad guys in this game are hard to kill meaning you have to shoot them multiple times to kill them. In Time Crisis 3 some of the bad guys have to be shot up to 5 and 6 times however in this game all but one of the characters require nearly a full clip resulting in multiple reloads. I get the sense I am playing the same screen over and over with the only real change being the back drops. I hope it gets better, I have played through the second level up an to this point. Crisis Missions are near impossible but at least a little different. For more pin point shooting that requires a little skill rather then luck, I would say stick with Time Crisis 2 and 3.
Time crisis extreme
This game is probably my favorite time crisis game. The basic game play is the same with one huge exception, you have unlimited machine gun rounds. Gone is the need to save amunition for a particular time. Once you beat arcade mode you unlock crisis mode and play with every weapon with unlimited ammo. There are also timed modes, special weapons modes and enough other unlockables to keep this game fun longer than most. Even after you beat everything its time to replay it and beat your times and score. My friend ( who hates video games ) played this and time crisis 3 and loved it. she said she actually had dreams about playing it.

A step in right direction - New kind of PES altogether
First, let me start by providing my experiences with FIFA 2011. After reading rave reviews on FIFA 2011, I decided to give it a try after skipping FIFA 2010 (also had glaring reviews) and going with PES 2010. You can read my review on FIFA 2011, but bottom line is I ended up selling it mainly due to unrealistic and indistinguishable gameplay despite FIFA touting the "realistic" gameplay.

Unrealistic because you can never execute a deadly thru-pass with a top player with just one lowly defender who stood between you and the forwards running/waiting for that thru-pass. A defender would always intercept the pass unless you direct the pass to a completely open area which defeats the purpose. In real life, playmakers like Gerrard, Iniesta, Xavi, etc provide deadly thru-passes toward inside the box past 2-3 top defenders.

Indistinguishable because no matter which team you play or who you're controlling, they all have the same characteristics and speed. Messi or Ronaldo can't out run a lowly defender. The game was boring and tedious. I loved FIFA's clean presentation, soundtracks, editing capabilities, even down to customizing the chants, but it failed to deliver in gameplay and fun factor which is the core of any video games.

So I went back to PES series and my experiences have been mostly positive. PES 2011 have a much more streamlined and clean interface. You still don't have all the licenses or real stadiums but the game play is so much better and exciting compared to FIFA. First and foremost, you can forget about all your previous skills that you may have acquired from previous PES series. The new gameplay takes some getting used to, especially the new camera angle. There is no tele angle which showed most of the playing field panning side to side following the controlling player/ball. It is now been replaced with "wide" angle with options to follow the ball or the players. When you're deep inside the opponent's half trying to provide crosses, the angle is skewed much like the "broadcast" angle that you really can't see your players waiting inside the box with a quick glance, so you really have to rely on radar. However, with practice and some getting used to, it quickly became a non-issue. The gameplay is much more realistic and fluid with no "ball sticking" that plagued previous PES series. Passing now requires well timed direction and control with power gauge indicator. But most importantly, thru-passes work in PES unlike FIFA. I can pin point and execute thru passes between defenders and experience the gratification of forwards receiving them leading to a potential goal. There are definite differences on players' mobility and skills when you're controlling a top player as opposed to other players. Messi can out run and execute some deadly feints to get past a defender, Drogba can bully couple of defenders with his size and strength, and other players' real life skills are accurately portrayed in PES 2011.

Online play is more accessible now with instant game matching within Exhibition menu as opposed to drilling down inside Online menu. I did not experience any noticeable lags even with subpar network connections. The new game plan (tactics/strategy) with drag-and-drop interface is so easy and intuitive that I find myself tinkering with different settings - something that I haven't done often in previous PES. Feint settings where you can combo series of feint moves with the right stick is also a welcome addition and fun to watch.

Sadly, this game isn't perfect. There are some glitches or short-comings:

- I lost control of my players when I accidentally pressed series of buttons on my controller. CPU took over and was controlling both teams as if the game is running in demo mode. I regained full control after a dead ball. Fortunately, I've only experienced this once.

- There are some graphic "tearing" when players are near or inside the goal. They go through the goal net with some eerie effects.

- Penalty kick system should be completely gutted and reworked. I really liked FIFA's "metered" or "gauged" controlled penalty kick system.

Minor issues aside, I'm enjoying PES 2011 more than FIFA 2011 and I think it's unfortunate that PES 2011 don't get the credit or fair reviews that it deserves from the game review community. You could find a number of high reviews for FIFA but only a handful of lukewarm reviews on PES. Not that I rely on these so called professional game reviewers' verdicts dictate my purchasing decisions but still, I think it's a shame.

Pros:
1. Realistic gameplay and physics without sacrificing fun factor in soccer simulation game
2. Ease of menu navigation and game plan (tactics) settings
3. Reliable, quick and fun online gameplay
4. Does not require online access code you have to enter like FIFA

Cons:
1. The new gameplay and camera angles take some time getting used to
2. Some graphic glitches but this could be ironed out on future updates
3. Bad, inconsistent penalty shootout system

Overall, PES 2011 is a step in right direction and despite some minor issues, it's still a fun game that you should definitely experience.
Great game, but still have some flaws
I just got the game yesterday and only played one game under Professional difficulty with RM vs Milan. I won 4-2. I felt the control is much different from the previous versions, which need some time to get used to. The only complain that I have is the camera angle, which, sometimes, is hard to identify the right direction to pass and shoot, especially under the new passing system. Also, the strategy setting is a little to complicated to me. End of the day, we are just trying to play some soccer, not trying to play the Football Manager game. Other than that, the game looks great to me.

PS. I have been a PES and WE fan for over 10 years. No matter how good people say FIFA is, I aint to touch it. PES is for hardcore soccer

Today the video game industry is dominated by three huge companies that seem to dominate the video gaming market completely, these companies are Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. The battles really goes way back, from a long time ago, when the available video games consoles were nothing but simple heavy boxes, with low graphics quality, but still they were the ones dominating the gaming market back then. But from the many video game companies that came out other than Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, the time that has passed has placed a lot of the weaker ones out of business leaving today the three biggest video game companies of all time which are Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, but the battle just never ends between Sony and Microsoft, both fighting for the spotlight and also to lead and dominate this industry. It seems like the battle just begun.
Sony has held the tittle of the best video game maker for many years consecutively, while comparing to Microsoft. A few years ago we had PlayStation 2 already out in a battle against Microsoft's original console the Xbox. Only a few would dare to mention that Xbox was better than PlayStation 2, but a few years later when Microsoft released the amazing Xbox 360 all eyes were amazed and Xbox 360 held the attention of the media and gamers for more than a year. Xbox 360 came out with all the power that a new generation console could handle, beautiful graphics and just a super fast processor, among many other great features..
As time passed by after the release of the Xbox 360 millions of people worldwide, both media and gamers were already expecting the arrival of the new PlayStation 3, many gamers already knew what were some of the features of the new machine but no one had had a first up close view of the console until it finally came out, been released in Japan on November 11, 2006 around 07:00am and reaching it's release in the United States on November 17, 2006.
When Microsoft was faced with Sony's latest video game console, their whole comparison chart was simply destroyed, PS3 came out with features that Xbox 360 couldn't even come close, and some of these features were a beautiful top of the line built-in Blu-ray player, a fast Wifi built-in networking card and an amazing backwards compatibility. Sony had invested so much on their console that they were selling their units below cost price. Meaning the were loosing hundreds of dollars on every sale! But thankfully after this though time passed Sony was able to withstand the barriers created and have prosperity coming their way.
Just as the years passed so did the age of both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, allowing each company to deliver improvements and new features in their consoles. Xbox 360 was upgraded to the new Xbox 360 Slim, which includes many of the powerful features that PS3 carries, but it includes a faster built in Wifi card, way faster than PS3's original wifi card. PlayStation's latest model is also a Slim version, but includes basically the same features, but PS3 today is still considered more powerful and better than Xbox 360.

Surely the comparison between PlayStation 3 vs Xbox 360 can go deeper in many ways, forms and specifications in much more detail to define which console is better and which is not. But in the end it will be you the gamer or fan deciding which console is the best choice for your self. The pleasures will always be the same, and the long endless battle between PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will continue.

Army Men 3D is a three-dimensional war game wherein you act as a commando-like soldier in a world gone completely Saving Private Ryan, plastic, and lilliputian. It's a world with some narrative behind it, so a history lesson is necessary before we proceed. After shifting solely to software development awhile back, 3DO introduced a lighthearted real-time strategy game to the PC revolving around little plastic army men named... Army Men, and since it sold well, the company developed the concept into a franchise. To date, another PC strategy game as well as this one (a third-person shooter) has been released, while a third-person N64 adventure game (Army Men: Sarge's Heroes) and a PlayStation helicopter game (Army Men: Air Attack) have been announced.
Army Men 3D places you as Sarge, a lone soldier whose missions involve rescuing captured troops and returning them across a minefield, taking on an enemy fortress unaided, retrieving sensitive documents from spies in the field, sabotaging bridges and radar dishes, and the like. You're in the Green army, which is at war with the Tan, and you've got an arsenal ranging from machine guns and bazookas to flame throwers and grenades - all of which you use to fight the good fight. There are even jeeps and tanks for you to drive around and over people.
Sound like a good concept? It is. There are a few really neat things about the game. Sneaking around as a commando and ducking behind rocks to avoid enemy fire can be very fun, and a number of the missions present some enjoyable challenges. Likewise, the mechanics behind the grenades and mortars is great. When you press the fire button, a square-shaped target moves away from you to the maximum distance the mortar or grenade can be shot or thrown and continues back and forth until you let go of the button to launch the shot. However, there are a number of factors that pile up and drag Army Men 3D way down.
The graphics are the main offender here; they are muddy beyond even those in Sega's House of the Dead on the Saturn. This is less an aesthetic complaint than a practical one, because you'll often not be able to distinguish an enemy soldier from a cactus or brush, and the terrain often has inexplicable sticky spots, both of which can get you shot. The later levels in the bayou look better than the desert stages (where pop-up runs rampant) and save the game from getting an even lower graphical score. There are some control and gameplay problems at work, as well. The control set-up feels somewhat incomplete because of the lack of a gun sight in the look mode and no strafe button at all. The gun sight is substituted by a computer-controlled intelligent aiming function that hones in on foes in the area toward which you've pointed your muzzle, but sometimes it gets confused when enemies are clustered together. If an enemy is farther away and not shooting at you, you might choose to ignore him for a moment, but the aiming function won't always let you. The prerequisite strafe button is replaced by the ability to roll left and right, which is probably a bit more realistic, but the need for more precise control becomes apparent the first time you get caught in a crossfire.
As it might sound, it's very easy to get killed in Army Men 3D. You can be right near the end of a level, walk around a corner, and get eaten right up by a machine gunner. It actually happens a lot, so it makes you start wishing for less powerful bullets or mid-level save spots. The way it stands, there are a lot of instances when you'll quit the game out of frustration, only to continue later out of stubbornness - meaning that the game is often maddening, but at least it does provide compelling enough reasons to continue.
Other items worth mentioning: The music and sound aren't very strong, and the game is a little bit on the short side. The game camera is near perfect in the single-player mode because it sticks right behind your back, but since it's trimmed back toward the horizon in the two-play capture-the-flag game, it's too hard to see around. Beyond all that, the only thing left uncovered is probably the enemy AI, which alternately seems either too smart or not smart enough.
It's obvious that there is a good game buried under all this, but it just seems to be down a little too deep to get any sort of recommendation. With some major spit and polish, plus several more months of development time, Army Men 3D could've turned out a lot better. Still, we haven't seen enough commando-type war games like this, and it leaves me wanting more. Let's hope a superior sequel will come along or that another company will build upon what we've seen here. --Joe Fielder

This is a awesone game
This game is a total BLAST!! Shoot some Tan's, lay some mines, squish 'em with your tank, chuck a few gernades, play sevaral differnt terrains, and just have fun. Army Men 3D has great animation. You have a awesome 3rd person view with great grahics and lot of weapons. Mutiplayer is so much fun. I don't think that there is a downside to any part of the game. If you have Playsation this sould be the first game you buy!! Have fun.
INCREDIBLE
Army Men 3D has to be the best game I own. As soon as I bought it I was instantly absessed! It has over 15 missions which are all cool and interesting. Whether its rescueing men or blowing up towers, some times just plain out wiping out armies, its all out fun. fire rifles, mortars, bazookas, or throw grenades. Sometimes when feeling frustrated you can always lay down some explosives! Drive 4 different vehicles including jeeps or tanks!
The only downside to this game is the graphics. they sure aint perfect but they are not as bad as some people would say. You can always easily make out your charachter but some times the tean enemy can camoflauge with the terrain.
This shouldnt be enough to keep you from buying this nearly perfect game!

Best two player military game
This game is one of the best head to head military games out there. The animated player movement is smooth and the topographic/graphics are good. Weapons available include M-16, M-60, Tank (great for grinding your screaming opponent into pulp), jeep mounted 50 cal., flamethrower, bazooka, mortar, grenades, and landmines. This version is far superior to the later versions. The aiming reticule for the mortar and grenades is smoother and easier to use and the damage inflicted seems more realistic than the later versions. I would like to see a couple of weapons added (posion gas [delivered by artillery], bayonet, garrot, command detonated claymores). The only real complaint about this game is the lack of different scenarios in the head to head mode. It would be nice to see 3DO add some scenarios depicting Urban/Jungle/Mountain warfare to the two player mode. Those complaints aside, this game is one of the best, it allows for some rudimentary strategy and tactial planning, then compells the players to resort to brute force to wear your opponent down.

Awesome Racing Game This game was really fun. There are several levels, and you must collect money by winning races so you can purchase a better, nicer bike to race with. There's lots of cool roads and settings you can race in. There are about 15 other computer-operated bikers that you are racing against, and if you are in last, there is afew places where you can cheat and take shortcuts, and it puts you in first place! I also liked this game because there are cops in it and they try to chase you down. You can ram them and other bikers with your motorcycle to make them crash, or you can hit them with one of the many weapons you acquire over time.(Like a 2 by 4, chain, mace, stun gun, cattle prod, baseball bat....) Oh, and one more thing: I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 12 or anyone that can't interpret the difference between fake violence and real violence. But this game is really alot of fun! Is a classic to have I like motorcycles, I used to play this game back in the days, now i play it in my PS3 is a classic you should have. Awesome concept! awesome style! awesome music! This is one of the most memorable games of my old times with my PS1, and what I love of it, is the concept, the fights in the road, the open city(kind of, if you get out of track you won't win but you can explore), the cops, the music is awesome, the cut scenes, the menus and the art has an amazing style that blends perfectly, did I mention the music? It's pretty cool for just a game where you road on bike trying to win races beating your opponent with chains just to get money to buy better bikes :) If you see it someday around some store(like me) or online... take it! you won't regret it, of course have in mind that this game is almost 10 years old, but I have to say that today's PS3 or 360 doesn't have games with great and diverse concepts like this one.

Before Half-Life, before Quake, before even Doom, there was Wolfenstein 3D, a title that kicked PC gaming right into the '90s. BAM!'s Game Boy Advance conversion is pretty much exactly the same as the seminal PC shooter, and old-skool purists will be weeping tears of pure nostalgia when they see Wolf's brick walls and turquoise doors. For the uninitiated, the game's a maze-set first-person shooter with 60-odd levels, four weapons, and four difficulty levels; the aim of the game is to wipe out Castle Wolfenstein's Nazi henchmen and make your escape.
The controls are dead simple--turn with the D-pad, strafe with the shoulder buttons, shoot with A, open doors with B, change weapons with Select. The graphics and sound seem basic when compared to most of the GBA's other titles, but the gameplay's as good as it ever was. Mowing down Nazis--and their dogs--then collecting their treasure and finding secret stashes of loot and health packs may not be the most cerebral of pursuits, but it's undeniably good fun. The only real downside is the lack of midlevel checkpoints--having to start the level from scratch each time you die can be very irritating. But perhaps the most lasting impression you'll take away from Wolfenstein 3D is a sense of wonder that PC games have evolved so far technically in just 10 years--just what will we be playing on our handhelds in 2012? --Rikki Price

One of the best F.P.S. for GBA(Along with Ecks Vs. Sever)
Wolfenstein3D is, is hands down, awsome! The graphics are pixilized up close and far away, but what do you expect from a handheld virson of an early 90's fps.
There are only 4 weapons but they are awsome. It's a little gory, buts that's one of the best things about this game. All in all this game is one of the best I've played(Along with Ecks Vs. Sever). I recomend this game to older kids about 10 and up but parents probably won't let younger kids buy this because ok racial swasticas and gore.
Original as it gets
Well first of all I had to go to Electronics B. to get this game.. I just had to have it and it seems that EB has ESP because they seemed to know I had to have it too and charged 42.99 for it.. Wow for a GBA game.. Is that legal? Ok to the game.. The graphics if you ask me are exactly the same as the original.. maybe a little (little better).. hmm no background music although I can't think if the original had it or not.. As for customization ; brightness and turning speed can be controlled. Lets face it .. it seems the GBA was not cut out to do this kind of stuff although this is the best I have seen so far.. Doom in my opinion really was done horribly if I was playing that in a moving vehicle with those poor graphics and controls i would be sure to vomit. With wolf well you can't possible mess it up I mean it has what? 4 colors 5 sounds maybe .
My final thoughts of this are that if you want a 3d game like wolf doom duke.. This is the best one for the game boy by far.. Really fun to play..
Decent legendary game, but dated
Don't get me wrong, Wolfenstein 3-D is an all time classic that inspired every first person shooter ever made, and now that its on the GBA, old school gamers will finally get to enjoy the game on the go. However, while this is a nearly exact port of the PC original, that is both good and bad. First off, the frame rate is rather sluggish. When there is a lot of on screen action, the framerate becomes slow and choppy, the same problem the Super Nintendo version of the game had years ago. Second of all, Wolfenstein 3-D will go vastly unappreciated by younger gamers more used to the Quake series or Half-Life. However, there are a lot of good qualities: the Nazi schwastikas are left intact from the original (which is probably why the game is really rated mature because there isn't much blood at all), and the small amounts of blood are kept red, not a different color as in the GBA version of Doom. All in all, the GBA version of Wolfenstein 3-D isn't bad at all, but with other first person shooters for the GBA like Doom, Eecks VS Sever, and the upcoming Duke Nukem 3-D and Medal of Honor, you should hold on to your money unless you really love this game.

A Near-Complete Starter Pack
The Starter Bundle makes it quick and easy for those who already have a PS3 to get an idea of what Move is about. Depending on what you already have on your PS3 and of what/how you are planning to play, all you may need could be just the Move controller and nothing else or you may want to order some additional controllers instead of this bundle.

If you don't have a PS3, then the PlayStation 3 320GB System with PlayStation Move Bundle should be the way to go.

WHAT YOU GET, WHAT ELSE YOU MAY NEED/WANT

Briefly, this is what you get in with this bundle and I will make it very short because there's a lot of info. at the Amazon page:

* Move controller, of course
* PlayStation Eye camera (must have for the Move to work)
* Sports Champions (Ping Pong is simply awesome, some of the games play much better with a second controller)
* A disc with Demos which should be available at the PSN store as well

When I start think about the best games for Playstation Move I have four that comes to my mind and they`re the ones I will reveal and discuss in this article. For those of you that don`t know what the Playstation Move is? Briefly I will try to explain what a Playstation Move is so, that everyone understands fully it is an motion-sensing game controller platform for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) video game console by Sony Computer Entertainment .

This is all made possible by using a handheld motion controller wand that is monitored and followed by camera mounted on Playstation Move to capture all motion from sensors on the wand. That enough on how it works and let me get back to the four best games for the Playstation Move and little information on each game.

Little Big Planet 2 is a puzzle-platforming game that has built-in functions that lets the players create all kinds of games which can be shared with others through the Little Big Planet network online. You can create a game by making enemies, hazardous obstacles and make many other difficult surroundings to spice up your game and then when you’re ready you can invite some friends to join in for more fun too! It is similar to Super Mario Bros. where the characters are jumping over all kind of stuff and enemies to finish the level then proceed to next level and this game goes 50 levels deep.

Killzone3 An epic cinematic war experience. Starting off from the end of Killzonne2 game the players continue the fight by a super special ops team against the seemingly non-preventable Helghast Empire. Sports Champion is an action –pack sports games that features six different competitive sports events to participate in like table tennis, gladiator, archery, volleyball, discs, golf, and bocce. Players get to choose to participate in one of the ten athletes in the different sporting events and it has a three different gameplay modes consisting of Free Play, Challenge Mode, and Championship Cup.

Free Play is where you learn and practice the games as a startup mode then proceeding to the Challenge mode where players get to compete in different events to battle to raise their scores, Champion Cup mode is where the player goes up against ten athletes for the World Olympic- like events to battle over the championship.

Gameplay
Although gameplay in Among Thieves is similar to that of the previous game, there are several major differences. The most important of these is the addition of several online multiplayer options. Unfortunately, no offline multiplayer could be included in the game due to the impact local split-screening has on the game's graphical quality. Great Purchase for New Buyers Only
Uncharted 2 Game of the Year Edition is a Must Buy if you've never played the game before as it includes almost all downloadable content that later came after its release (Sidekick Skin Pack not included). If you have the original case, beware for you're just buying the same game with a code to get all the dlc. I sold my original copy to get this version and realized there really wasn't much of a difference besides having a new maybe better cover.

If you have the original game, no need to get this version for you really don't lose out. Here's an example. I sold my original copy for 25$. This version costs $49.99 plus tax which comes out to be like $54 bucks or something. That's a difference of $29.00. This edition comes with extra content that values up to $35. If you do the math I really only saved $6 by getting all this content. It'a deal, but not much. Also who knows if you can even get a value of $25 dollars for your original. Gamestop was only going to give me 12 bucks for it. Of course I didn't except and gave them a big "you know what"

I actually don't mind this purchase at all for I never bought any of the add ons, but I can imagine others who might have or just some. You'll probably be a little peeved after the purchase. To make my point, New Buyers for sure get this version. This game is awesome and it's a Great Deal. Original game owners, just keep your game with the content you bought.

Easily one of the best games of the last 10 years. When the next generation of gaming consoles comes out, having Uncharted 2 will make you want to keep your PS3. Unless Sony makes the PS4 backwards compatible, of course...

Who is the greatest?

Not your average yearly update....
You may consider this a premature review, but I thought I would share my initial feelings about the game anyways. It really doesn't matter the company, whether 2K or EA, but whenever the yearly edition of your favorite sports game is released, it's painfully obvious that the transition between one year to the next is subtle at best. Thankfully 2K doesn't simply add a new feature and highlight it as EA does year in and out with their games. For NBA 2K11, 2K knew it could not let down the legions of Jordan fanboys and fanatics worldwide by pushing out an inferior product and let me tell you, 2K11 has NOT disappointed me thus far. I received this game approximately 4 hours ago, THANK YOU UPS GUY, and after 4 hours of non-stop play, I am VERY satisfied. I'll attempt to break down what I've seen.

Pros:
1) Michael FREAKING Jordan. His presence is already the showstopper part of the game, but 2K does not simply include him in a "Legendary" team and call it quits. No, Sir. As you've already read, they include him on 10 of his legendary Bulls teams whether to relive his classic moments or to use them against current teams. Another cool feature is the ability to unlock all his Jordan brand shoes where upon wearing them, your player will gain specific stat boosts.

2) Inclusion of other legendary teams. They didn't have to, but they so kindly did.

3) Improved AI. Every year 2K and EA claim they have more life-like AI, this year is different. Basically once you pop the game in the disk you're already playing as a Jordan-led team and the difficulty was on Pro. I noticed immediately that the same passes to cutters will not fly. I played 2K10 on Hall of Fame and those passes were money. Well, not anymore. It takes a lot more know-how and timing to get things right and I couldn't be happier.

4) Buttons and moves. By this I mean 2K tweaked the buttons slightly and it's made things easier in my estimation. Circle no longer sets your picks (rather it is the "fake pass" button), as it's now L1. Pushing L1 calls your screener to get into position and releasing it tells him to roll. Rather than allowing the AI to determine when they should roll allows the player to better gauge what the best play will be. You can call a quick screen so that he simply slows the guy guarding you down and allow you to blow by for a layup or dunk, or you can set an adequate pick-and-roll (that would make Stockton and Malone happy) by allowing your screener to have a head full of steam before getting the ball. Performing moves is a lot easier for me this time around, it's hard to get into detail so you'll have to see for yourself. I say moves are a positive this time around because of the newly added animations allow for more variation when trying to break your defender down.

5) Clear difference between Stars and nobodies. When you're using a superior player and an inferior player guards you, performing moves will easily allow you to "brush your shoulder" of the guy. For instance, if you're using Derrick Rose and Robin Lopez switches to guard you, he's basically screwed. Higher ball skill ratings vs. lower speed means when you do a move against him, he'll be left in the dust. Also, star players definitely shine in this game. If you're using MJ or Kobe, being guarded perfectly doesn't mean your shot will clank. Everybody knows these two make/made impossible shots, as ridiculous as it looks/seems, they did it for real and you can do it in the game. Using Kobe in 2K10 was semi-frustrating because it would've been nice if I could've made some of those difficult shots that he makes in reality, now I can see them drop more often that not. Just my preference that I'd like to see some contested shots go down since some guys can pull it off. Again, you need to see for yourself how clear the difference is now.

6) Improved layout & presentation. You could do without this, but it does look nicer. Presentation looks especially cool, what you'd expect if you were watching a game on ESPN or any other live TV station. Massive improvement here that wasn't necessary but is absolutely a pleasure to have.

7) My Player. A lot of the things here will seem familiar to you, but 2K did add nice features here and there and allow for a more variation when developing your player. The combinations of shots, moves, etc. are endless. This feature was already solid in 2K10, but 2K added some nice little features here and there.

8) Graphics. I think the graphics this year around are fairly crisp and to anybody griping about looks, have you ever considered that maybe companies have already maxed out on how great these games can look? 1080p is basically the standard and if it doesn't look as good as you think it should be, try getting an LED tv and then get back to me.

Cons:
1) Same announcers, but they did add some new one liners. Either way, playing two games successively means you hear them rant about the same things. I don't think any game developer is willing to pay two new guys to announce their games every year.

2) I have not encountered any bugs thus far, but I suppose with more playing I'll see something? (SEE UPDATE)

Conclusion:
I think when word got out how amazing 2K11 was, EA finally accepted what they already knew. They were pushing out an inferior product year after year. It's never been more obvious this year as EA delayed their interpretation of basketball by 5 (FIVE!) months. If anybody even tried their demo, I don't blame them. Frankly, I'd get this game just for the Jordan factor... but I thank 2K Sports for merely letting his presence be an attention grabber while letting their actual game do the talking. Whether you're a 2K or Live/Elite fanboy, you really owe it to yourself to get this game. 2K didn't have to add a lot of the stuff that they did, but they did so anyways because they really wanted to prove to people that they've mastering their craft with dedication and thought. I hope that anybody who reads this review got something out of it because ever since popping the game in, I really felt the need for everyone else out there to see what I saw. If you have any questions or think I'm talking out of my ass, please let me know! And in the future, don't let EA sell you on their Great Balls of Fire (NBA JAM) to buy their games! Quality will always win out against HYPE!

The more and more I play this game, the more I am impressed. The emphasis this year around was actually SIMULATION of basketball. This is why so many casual gamers are upset, because they can't simply pick up the controller and score 50 with any star player as they'd hope. As good as those players are in real life, it's still insanely hard to pull it off on any given night, as it is in the game as well.
Year in and year out, the AI is ALWAYS a big issue. Game reviewers and connoisseurs, like myself and I'm sure many of you, always complain about the simpleton computer. Hall of Fame is NEVER a challenge....... until NOW. I read a review somewhere else on Amazon, complaining about how hard it was to score and how 2K made the game worse. These complaints are RIDICULOUS because the guy clearly didn't know what this game's about.

However, I've seen a few things that annoyed me.
1) Throwing hail mary passes don't work when you're doing them, but the computer can underhand a hail mary pass directly the guy down court.
2) Where are the Kobe shoes?
3) The new dunk contest. I preferred last year's version, though I'm glad that Sprite guy who announces it is gone.

These little things bug me, but the game is otherwise flawless. Game play is authentic and the animations are amazing.
My advice to anybody in the market for a basketball game is that, know what you're purchasing before you buy it. If you want some fantasy game where you can do whatever the hell you like and score a million points, you can purchase a copy of Live 2001-forseeable future or even a pre NBA 2K-11 2K game. This is the finest sports SIMULATION game ever and with that said, you cannot seriously expect to have things be handed to you when playing this. NBA 2K11 is meant for basketball purists who want the most authentic experience playing their favorite sport in virtual reality. Performing moves, running plays, making shots, etc. everything requires attention to detail and an ability to survey the situation at hand... as your favorite baller would in real life.

Pleystation 3 Is In Competioin With Xbox 360 And Nintendo Wii

Playstation 3 is more advanced model of the old Playstation 2 and being made by Sony Computer Entertainment they are trying to stay in direct competion with Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. The first PL2 was relased in 11/11/2006 and there was many models made shortly thereafter including the hard disk drive 20,40,60,80, and 160 GB.

These were the first five models and the only great diffence in the overall apperance was the number of USB ports,the absence of the door which covers the flash card readers on some models and the color of trim.

The only one in production now is the new redesigned slim model referred to as the PL2 Slim game console.Cutting the size by 36% making it much lighter and it features a upgradeable 120GB,160GB,250GB, and 320GB hard drive that is 33% smaller.

PS3 or Xbox 360, or Wii?
The PS3 is a great system. Easy to use, futuristic on-screen interface, quality sleek hardware, awesome graphics, lots of benefits. But should you get a PS3 or Xbox 360? And what about the Wii?

Note: I own all three devices, and I appreciate all of them. I don't have any bias to one system or the other, just my personal experience and opinion...

PS3============================================
What I like MOST about the PS3:
1) Future proof Blu-ray player (Sony updates the player over the Internet for free; it now supports 3D movies/TVs)
2) Clean, more futuristic on-screen interface (feels more mature then Xbox 360)
3) Better/Smoother/Faster graphics (in the 10+ games I own on a 60" 1080p HDTV)
4) Free online multiplayer gaming (no monthly/yearly fees like Xbox 360; which I hate about Xbox)
5) Watch your online netflix shows on PS3 for free (Xbox requires Xbox live account to use your netflix account; another thing I hate about Xbox)
6) Exterior: More futuristic, luxurious, mature "look". Looks more like a sleek Home Theater appliance. (Xbox 360 more oriented to youthful crowd; Xbox looks more like an 'entertainment' device)
7) Lighter, slimmer, smaller controller. Built-in longer lasting rechargeable battery. (the Xbox controller does not come with a standard rechargeable battery, and it feels heavier and more bloated then the PS3 controller).
8) Built-in wireless connectivity. (an option on the Xbox)
9) Built-in optical/toslink connectivity for home theatre audio connection. (an option on the Xbox)
10) I can use my (or any) wireless blue-tooth cell phone headset for voice/chat enabled games. (The Xbox cannot)

What I like LEAST about the PS3:
1) My first PS3 (the 'fat' one) had a disc drive failure after 13 months of ownership; 1 month beyond its warranty. The PS3 still works, I just cant use discs. That means I cant watch blu-ray discs on it and I cant play disc based games on it. I can still play games through the PlayStation store (demos, etc), I still can watch netflix on it, and I still can watch movies from my PCs over the network on it. The fact that my PS3 disc drive died after about 1 year of limited delicate usage really concerns me about the quality of the hardware and customer support/treatment. I paid over $400 for my first PS3, and I used it maybe twice a week. After searching the web about my problem, I found this was a rampant problem with the fat PS3. Did they fix this problem with the slim PS3? Time will tell; I sure hope so. I just wish Sony would have fixed my problem for free (as I feel it was shoddy hardware or poor engineering that resulted in this problem, not me).
2) Games (new and used) are generally more expensive then the Xbox 360.
3) I liked the glossy look of the first generation PS3. The new PS3 slim looks a little flimsier/cheaper. It is smaller though, and that's a plus.
4) The rechargeable battery in the PS3 controller is not swappable. That means if your controller dies mid-game, you have to plug it in to use it. (The Xbox controller has swappable batteries)
5) When I download a game (full or demo), I can't play it immediately. After the download (which could take over an hour), I have to install the game (which could take another 10-30+ minutes), at which time my PS3 is unusable until it completes. The Xbox downloads in the background and plays immediately without having to install the game. Also, if I turn off the PS3, the download stops (the Xbox finishes the download even when turned off).

Xbox 360============================================
What I like MOST about the Xbox 360:
1) More people have it. In other words, all my friends, family and coworkers have Xbox 360s. Which also means if I want to play online with them, I have to use my Xbox, which is also a con for me. (I'd rather use my PS3 because of the better graphics and lighter/smaller controller).
2) I can download games, updates and demos in the background, even with the Xbox turned off. So I can start a download and go to bed without leaving the box on all night. (The PS3 cant do this)
3) When I download a game (full or demo), I can play it immediately. On the PS3, you have to download it (which could take over an hour), then install it (which could take another 10-30+ minutes), at which time your PS3 is unusable until it completes.
4) My late generation Xbox elite has lasted longer then my first generation PS3 (surprisingly)
5) It doubles as a Media Center extender. I have a PC that records shows for me in Media Center (like a Tivo but no monthly fees). I can access these shows and watch live TV over the network via my Xbox. This is a VERY cool and under-talked about feature. And most people with a Windows PC can do this; look it up.
6) The console and games (new and used) are cheaper then the PS3.

What I like LEAST about the Xbox 360:
1) Still no blu-ray player. This is a major con compared to the PS3. It WILL play regular DVDs, however.
2) In my experience, graphics are a little lower quality then my PS3. In Grand Theft Auto IV, I can see farther and more objects at a time on my PS3. The PS3 has a faster frame rate, where the Xbox feels almost blurry. The colors are more crisp on the PS3, the Xbox is more washed out, like water colors. Some may not even notice this, I do.
3) No built-in wireless connectivity. You have to buy a very expensive adapter to have wireless connectivity.
4) No built-in optical/toslink connectivity for home theatre audio connection. You have to buy an adapter to do this.
5) No rechargeable battery. You have to buy a rechargeable battery and kit to do this.
6) Not a major deal, but the on-screen interface is more kid-feeling then the PS3. I'm an adult and the PS3 feels more like its targeted to adults then children/teenagers.
7) YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY ONLINE. I don't understand this. It's ridiculous to me. It's way overpriced. I can't play online with my friends unless I buy a monthly or yearly Xbox live pass. I hate this about the Xbox. I HATE THIS. I already gave them hundreds of dollars in the console, games and accessories; stop asking me to pay to play. As you can see, this is a major con to me. I also cant watch my Netflix account without paying for an Xbox live account. Boo!
8) The Xbox has a pretty bad reliability record. I believe they have eliminated most of the issues that plagued the earlier consoles, however. My neighbor has replaced his Xbox 4 times; FOUR TIMES! I have not. He plays his every day all day though; I play once or twice a week for less then an hour.

Wii============================================
I bought the Wii after playing it at a friends house. I was blown away by the idea and experience of motion based controllers. We played golf, boxing, tennis, ping pong; it was an amazing experience - for the first time.
After I had the Wii, I quickly lost interest.
Here's why:
1) Horrible graphics. I paid a lot of money to have a 60" High Definition full 1080p home theatre. The Wii graphics look like absolute kiddy crap on my TV. The Wii has no high def. Its like playing a first generation Nintendo NES on a HDTV. Its horrible, and for this 1 reason I can no longer enjoy my Wii. Nintendo is way behind the modern day high end graphics of today.
2) The motion controller novelty has worn off. Its fun on a few games, horrible on others. I don't know, the novelty of the Wii has just worn off for me; and several of my friends.
3) It just doesn't feel like a modern quality device. While I'm sure its reliable, it just feels like a child's toy; the exterior, the interface, the games, etc. Sorry, I guess I've just grown up.

Conclusion============================================
In conclusion, I would say the Wii is more suited to young children. The Xbox is a great device, and so is the PS3. I can live without my Wii; but I would have a hard time choosing between the Xbox and PS3. For that reason, I choose to have both. If Xbox made online multiplayer free (eliminated the Xbox live cost), and included a blu-ray player, I would choose the Xbox over a PS3 (even with the better graphics on the PS3). But for now, I say buy both. By the Xbox as a gaming device, and justify the PS3 as blu-ray player with benefits.

If your a parent shopping for a teenager and only want to buy 1 device, go for the Xbox 360. Chances are, most of your child's friends will already have one, and they can all play online.

If your an adult that demands the best and has little time to play games (like myself), get a PS3. Its sleek, its got better graphics, its wireless, and it has a blu-ray player.

Not perfect, still fun
Against what appears to be the tide of public opinion among users (as opposed to yes-men reviewers) I paid full price for the new iteration.I am not a hard core gamer, so little glitches that irritate some do not bother me all that much, but I felt compelled to share some thoughts. I am playing exclusively Franchise vs. CPU, so I can't speak to online issues.

The appearance of the game is nicely done, although I don't see any significant improvement there from Madden 10.I do like the two-stick running. Once I got used to it, I did feel like I had more control, and the running is more realistic. Unlike one reviewer I read, once you get the hang of it I do find it to be somewhat intuitive. Overall, I think the running is much more lifelike and a big improvement from last year. The other thing I noticed about the game (and NCAA 11) which I kinda like is that when you are tackling you had better be in position or the guy is gone.I played several games where the RB just runs through the line and goes--once for 98 yards on 3rd down. That made me a little cranky. It seems like the RB's will break a lot more tackles than in the last version, which I found hugely frustrating as I am still getting used to play. I am a big Rams fan, and granted they suck, but I mean I played against Adrian Peterson and he was tossing would be tacklers aside like Superman. I get that he's Adrian Peterson, but I also got abused by some third string RB for Tampa in a pre-season game. I didn't bring anyone down until the third contact.It was as frustrating as it is to be a Rams fan in real life.

The "Strategy Pad" is abysmally stupid and inefficient. It makes me really wonder what the people at EA are thinking about when they make these totally unnecessary changes. This thing adds nothing to gameplay. It's kind of a huge FU to those of us who have been supporting the game over the years. I am not that great on the controls, but in my opinion it takes twice as long to make adjustments. I was playing Jets v. Pats the other day against the CPU and was getting torched by Wes Welker. I went to double team him and could literally not get it done before the ball was snapped, like, 8 plays in a row, and EVERY play was a pass to a wide open Welker--I kid you not, every play until they scored. I almost threw the six-axis thru the screen.Pretty infuriating. Which brings me to my next criticism. Gameflow, IMO, is useless for anyone who has played the game before. I was trying it out in this game, and it never occurred to my brilliant coaching staff to double team Welker. I couldnt tell who my personnel were, and on offense they call the same plays over and over again. At first I thought it was a cool idea to "be in the helmet" and have the coaches talking to you. But, oh my, the stupid things they say. "OK, lets run it up the middle and hopefully the blocking will be there...Ok, take a five-step drop and hit your receiver"--you know, stuff the coaches really say. Once, on defense the coach tells me to watch out that I don't get torched long down the sideline, and guess what happened? Anyway I played the Jets/Pats over without Gameflow, and found it to be pretty enjoyable. The other thing I noticed is that offense is way too easy and defense way to hard. I played all weekend and every game was 38-35, 42-30, etc. And I echo what someone else said about the CPU making superhuman comebacks in the third quarter.

And who the heck is Gus Johnson? I never heard of him, but what a dork. He sounds on some of the play by play like he's trying to be a cross between John Wayne and Rod Serling. And great commentary. My QB drops back, and Gus says (in this really excited voice) "IT's A PASS!!!". Like, no S#@% Sherlock. I dont know why something so simple as reasonably intelligent commentary just seems to elude EA.

Having said all that,I must admit I find these failings do not really significantly diminish my enjoyment of the game play. If you can get past some of this stuff, it is highly entertaining. It should come with a gift card for anger management class though.

EDIT-have played a number of games and I have discovered that with a little slider tweaking, you can make the gameplay not so heavily offense-oriented and much, much more enjoyable.

This game is a terrific value for $60.
*** As I've updated my thoughts on various aspects of this game, I've wound up writing an extremely long and complex review. My apologies, though it's pretty amusing considering the game I'm discussing. Long story short: the game isn't perfect, but it's awesome and a huge step forward.

This game lives up to expectations as a major leap forward from GT4 and a cutting edge PS3 experience, so long as you're realistic and actually wanted a Gran Turismo style game. If you're expecting a game that is fully accessible quickly, instead of demanding patience and repeated accomplishment, or a game where you're forgiven for a lack of finesse, this may not be what you're looking for.

How to play: I've been a fan of this series since the original Playstation edition. I've generally played all Gran Turismo games by acquiring a cheap car (a used Mazda MX-5 in this game), beating a few license tests, racing for money to upgrade my car, and then buying a faster car and yet more upgrades for it. As this goes along, I wind up building a racing empire, beating all the license tests (which open up access to harder races), and having a great time.

In GT5, there's a new element that changes this. You gain A-Spec exp for various accomplishments and have a level for A Spec and B Spec (B Spec refers to the AI driving your car for you). Every race and car and special event has a level (some are level 0) you must reach before accessing. If you hate the licenses, you can see the rest of the game without them by gaining levels (such as by winning races). Personally, I'm still beating the licenses (and you gain levels very fast this way), and playing through as I always have.

Graphics: The graphics are stunning. I was expecting the quality to equal Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, but they are improved somewhat, particularly with regard to anti aliasing. Tracks look lovely, and even the notorious 800 'non-premium' cars look excellent. If these were the best the game had to offer, GT5 would be the prettiest racer yet. And yet the 200 premium cars take that to the next level. Tracks are astonishing. Nurburgring is stunning, as the shadows from trees reflect off the suede interior of my Aston Martin DBS, and the sun sets, the line from 'uncanny valley' to simply 'you're really there' is crossed. I don't see how graphics can improve from this point and my eyes be able to detect it. One neat addition is how lights reflect off mist, other cars, gleam onto things, etc. The shadows are not as well done as I like, leaving some jagged edges, but otherwise the game looks amazing.

Sound: I have always complained that Gran Turismo's sounds are too synthetic and unrealistic. GT5 has made a huge leap forward. Change your exhaust system and you actually can hear it. I can tell if a car is a V8 or a V6. That magestic sound of a Ferrari's 12 cylinders is actually represented. I still hope the game moves forward with a few details. You don't get the throaty idle of an old pony car [edit: I stand corrected... the Cobra 427 has a raspy idle and sounds great)... but then you shouldn't be standing still in the first place. It sounds amazing on my 5.1 system. Lots of car sims support 5.1, but the doppler effect and different engine noises show incredible realism here. I really like the long list of BGM songs and menu music, but the game supports your own mp3s, which is wonderful because I will be playing this game long enough to want new tunes. The audio improvements also make the replays much more exciting. You will know what I mean when you watch some (or play B-Spec, where you command the computer to drive for you), though it's hard to really describe. You feel much more like you're at the race.

AI: It's great. I could swear that a car retaliated against me. GT has tended to have weak AI that drives in a row, and that is thankfully not the problem. In B-Spec you can monitor the mental fatigue and attitude of the AI competitors, and that kind of thing appears to be tracked in the other cars. The AI gets stronger as you progress to harder races (as do their cars).

Physics: Some will not enjoy racing this series on its full realism settings. If you're not talented, this game's maximum realism settings are simply very hard. The game makes some effort to accomodate the rest of us mere mortals with a lot of aids and settings, but actually being competitive with this game takes work. I think the physics scratch that realism itch many PC gamers have been demanding for years. You have to develop some skills before the game can really be appreciated. There don't seem to be mechanical breakdowns (IE: overheating when you damage your radiator), something I've always wanted to see in this series, but otherwise the realism is excellent. I think most gamers can jump into Arcade Mode on beginner pick the F40, and win a race.

Content: I wish there were a few additional car models and that all of them were premium (you get used to the awesome cockpits quickly!). I think the problem is that GT5 has so many cars included that people get the illusion they should have every single car they can think of. It's so comprehensive that you actually are surprised when something isn't there (ahem, Porsche). In other words, it's easy to be unrealistic and hope for everything... that's how much content you have here. There are so many historic and amazing racing cars in this game that it seems unfair to feel this way. Upgrade parts and fine tuning settings are comprehensive and yet easy for anyone to fiddle with. There are many tracks in this game, though my favorite test track from GT4 is missing. Some of the weather and nighttime settings only work for some tracks, but when they do they are absolutely awesome. There are lots of things like photo album and setting up your personal area that just don't appeal to me personally. Online features are fully fleshed out, though, with very large fields of racers, chat, etc.

I think the game is so large that the menu system, for example, the GT World home's dozen+ things to choose from, seems daunting at first. Just remember this is a game many will play for hundreds of hours. Expect to find the menus a little daunting at first, but I'm already finding them very easy to get around after a few days.

I'm surprised by the track editor. It's easy to use, though you can't design each turn exactly as you'd like. But you'll never run out of tracks! The special events are practically entire games to themselves with a real diversity ranging from Nascar to Top Gear to WRC.

Fun Factor: I think a lot of people are going to complain about this. As gaming has become more and more popular as a form of entertainment, games have accomodated more players by being easy. I am not saying this is right or wrong: but understand this product is not an arcade game. You will have to have patience and practice to fully enjoy a more subtle experience. The fun comes from mastery. I think that's a lot of fun, but some people do not. The Kart racing, Drift, and to be honest, Nascar, present some cheaper thrills. You can also dial up the driving aids and have a very easy experience, but if you're looking for Blur or Need for Speed, this game just doesn't offer that experience. I do have one complaint: the game requires a substantial loading time, and the loading of new tracks took longer than expected the first time. Once it's loaded something the first time, it seems to save some of the content on the HDD, and it's much faster to load that thing in the future. I have a huge HDD, but people who have smaller ones should be aware this game will need eight GBs (or perhaps a bit more).

Value: I am stunned at just how much game is here. It is ridiculous. They could cut the content, tracks, and types of racing by half and you would still have two games worth much more than $60. I've only really scratched the surface, but I already can see this is going to be my favorite PS3 game.

My final thought on this: it's the comprehensive game for people who love cars. Old cars, new cars, fast cars, average cars. It's almost like am interactive museum experience for cars (not to mention the actual interactive museum feature). It's also a comprehensive way to race with depth. Setup, driving styles, etc. It's like a racing school in your living room. The quality has exceeded my expectations. This game will impress you, and you will have fun playing it if you have the patience to advance through the levels.

The birth of the seventh generation of video game consoles marks the changes that would be made on the gaming industry. Large game console manufacturing companies continue to discover new innovations that could be integrated into their new game consoles. Thus, interactive entertainment is now on its all time high, producing video game consoles that will definitely change the way we play video games—a mileage that would not be forgotten since the Magnavox Odyssey and Atari game console eras.

And Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. (SCEI) is on its way to create such unforgettable mileage on the video game console industry.

SCEI, the subsidiary of Sony Corporation that handles the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of software and hardware for the corporation’s PlayStation game console series, launched another game console, which will most likely to be matched up with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii – PlayStation 3. It was unveiled during the E3 Conference in Tokyo on May 16, 2005 and expected to be a success just like its two predecessors, the PlayStation 1 and 2.

PlayStation 3 features two different system configurations, as detailed in their previous press release after its unveiling during the E3 Conference – the basic and the premium. The basic system configuration of PlayStation 3 has four robust features. It holds a memory of twenty gigabytes, which could be upgraded. A Blu-ray drive is also included in the basic edition. With a Blu-ray drive and disc as its major media format, you will not find it difficult to store digital media. It can save data six times more than the current generations of digital video discs (DVDs). In addition, a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) port is also available with the basic system configuration of PlayStation 3.

On the other hand, the premium version of PlayStation 3 comes with an internal sixty gigabytes of hard drive, multiple flash memory card readers, and wireless Internet connectivity. It also features controllers connected via Bluetooth, HDMI port, and Blu-ray drive.

For those who have been attached with the previous versions of PlayStation, Sony promised that PS3 is compatible with them. PlayStation 3 can support all media formats of the previous PlayStation game consoles. Plus, PS3 has slots for the memory stick duo, SD, and that for compact flash memory.

PlayStation 3 has distinctive specs. The game console features a cell processor, which runs 3.2GHz for an excellent overall performance. It also sports immense multimedia features namely, digital photo, digital audio and digital video. Sonny propagated the panoramic video feature for the current version of PlayStation. Thus, expect that you will enjoy the refined audio-video digital technology incorporated in PlayStation 3.

The game interface of PlayStation 3 has the ability to save various user profiles, explore images, play music files of varying media format, and watch movies saved from the game console’s hard drive or removable memory. It is also compatible with a USB mouse and keyboard and has the capability of multitasking—that is, you can listen to your favorite music tracks while at the same time looking at saved images or browsing the Internet.
