1. Hike(Free)

Hike is developed by Bharti SoftBank in early of 2012. It is just as similar to Whatsapp but this app is better than whatsapp because it has some new features. Hike allows you to communicate with instant messaging over internet and even if the other person doesn’t have internet or hike account they can receive your messages through sms, it doesnt costs you for the sms. But hike currently offers send free text messages to Indian mobile numbers.

The user interface of Hike is very clean, simple and basic with pleasant hues of white and blue. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’ll be prompted to enter your mobile number. While the iOS version sends a 6-digit verification code via SMS that expires within a minute (reminiscent of Google Authenticator), the Android version simply greets you to the welcome screen asking you to enter your name and complete the registration.

2. WhatsApp (First year free, $0.99 per year thereafter)

Now that Facebook has decided to pay a whopping $19 billion for WhatsApp, it has to be top on our list - it's the biggest messaging app around by far with a user base that's in love with the service.

WhatsApp is probably the most popular and well known cross OS messaging app out there, sending messages over your Wi-Fi or mobile internet signal.
No longer completely free, although it's only $0.99 per year with the first year free, WhatsApp covers all your basic needs from a messaging service. The sending of text, pictures, video and voice messages are all supported, as is group chat.
Working with your mobile number, WhatsApp also doesn't require usernames, passwords and pins, and using the web rather than the mobile network means that there are no pesky international charges.
In all, WhatsApp is popular for a reason. It's highly customisable, and very easy to use to message others on the service as it connects via your mobile number.

3. Kik (Free)

With over 80 million users, Kik is another app that can't be ignored. Like WhatsApp, it is cross OS and features many nifty features.
There are many similarities to WhatsApp, such as the ability to send photos, have group chats, as well as being able to search for YouTube links, images and self drawn sketches. More interesting features include downloadable emoticons, our favourites being Rage Memes and South Park characters.
You can also create and send different memes from within Kik, or "Photobomb" your friends. The latter is Kik's answer to SnapChat, which we will cover later.
Kik also prides itself on being personal and private, not having to share your mobile number or email address, rather a username that you can create.

4. Skype (Free)

First gaining prominence on the desktop, and gaining a lot of publicity following its sale to Microsoft, Skype is possibly the best known and overall best video calling app out there.
It is also more than just a video and voice calling service, however. IM is fully supported, with Skype's custom array of smileys making their way over, albeit without the 'cute' little animations that we are so fond of.
Again, group messaging is supported, as is the sending of media files and video messages.
Connection to Skype can be done through a dedicated username and password or through an existing Microsoft account, something you might have created to use Windows Live or Windows 8. Since the merge with Microsoft, the Redmond based firm is pushing to connect any existing Skype accounts to your Windows account.

5. SnapChat (Free)

Chances are that you have heard of SnapChat, not least because of what you can use it for. It is becoming ever popular as a way to share images quickly and privately, with the added bonus that they don't hang around.
SnapChat gained popularity because of the temporary nature of the images sent. Images are captured and then sent immediately, to select SnapChat compatriots, with a self destruct timer built in.
Images, or videos, can be sent for anything up to ten seconds, and then wipe themselves off the receivers phone. Whilst there is nothing to stop a screenshot, senders are notified if this occurs. Image editing is also possible, but only to a narrow degree.
A small level of text can be added, and images can be sketched over, so you can show your friends what you look like with a bright red cartoon afro. You can also save your own images.

This eight minute song is a beautiful combination of arranged harmonies, rhythms and bass lines and thus helps to slow the heart rate, reduce blood pressure and lower levels of the stress. The song features guitar, piano and electronic samples of natural soundscapes.

A study was conducted on 40 women, who were connected to sensors and had been given challenging puzzles to complete against the clock in order to induce a level of stress. Different songs were then played, to test their heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and brain activity. The results showed that the song Weightless was 11 per cent more relaxing than any other song and even caused drowsiness among women in the lab. It induced a 65 per cent reduction in overall anxiety and brought them to a level 35 per cent lower than their usual resting rates.

According to Lyz Cooper, founder of the British Academy of Sound Therapy, the song has been created using various scientific theories and make use of musical principles that are known to have individually calming effects. Hence these elements have been combined together by Marconi Union to make the perfect relaxing song ever. The song comprises of a sustaining rhythm that starts at 60 beats per minute and gradually slows to around 50. Thus, while listening to the song, your heartbeat automatically comes to match that beat. She even adds that it is necessary for the song to be eight minutes long because it takes about five minutes for entertainment to occur. The gaps between the notes have been chosen to create a feeling of euphoria and comfort. In addition, there are no repetitive melodies in the song which allows one's brain to completely switch off since one is no longer trying to predict what is next. The random chimes in the song help induce a deeper sense of relaxation and the final element in the song is the low, whooshing sounds and hums, those like the Buddhist chants.
Moreover, sound therapies have been used for thousands of years to help people relax and improve health and well-being. Among indigenous cultures, music has been the heart of healing and worship. The song, weightless is ideal for unwinding and putting an end to a stressful day.

According to Dr David Lewis-Hodgson, from Mindlab International, which conducted the research, this song induced the greatest relaxation, higher than any other music tested till date. In accordance to the Brain imaging studies, music works at a very deep level within the brain, stimulating not only those regions responsible for processing sound but also ones associated with emotions. The song Weightless can make one drowsy and hence should not be heard while driving.

Richard Talbot, from Marconi Union, was fascinated to work with a therapist to learn how and why certain sounds affect people's mood. Though he always knew the power of music, they had previously written songs using only their gut feeling.

The study conducted by bubble bath and shower gel firm, Radox Spa found the song was even more relaxing than a massage, walk or cup of tea. According to Cassie Shuttlewood, from Radox Spa, it is understandable not to spend hundreds of pounds on massages, spa weekends and yoga retreats to reduce stress levels.

Any.DO

Any.DO is has always been one of my favorite to-do apps, and it comes with some really useful features. While it's not my pick for the best, Any.DO offers some great features and a sharp design that will help you stay on top of your to-do list, and feel good about doing it in the process. It's fast, beautiful, and easy to use.

Boomerang

Boomerang is one of our favorite tools to keep your Gmail under control, and its newly launched Android app hooks into your Gmail or Google Apps accounts to help you compose and schedule messages, automatically hide messages for a set period of time, and overall help you keep your inbox tidy and focused so you only see the items you need to work on.

Agenda Calendar

Agenda Calendar offers a clean, minimalist view of even the most cluttered calendars, and makes keeping on top of a busy schedule full of appointments and events a breeze. Multiple calendar views help you see your schedule from any angle, whether you're walking between meetings and need a one-handed way to browse your appointments, or you're knee deep in your calendar trying to find time to squeeze in a lunch meeting. Of course, the built-in Google Calendar app is completely free and Agenda Calendar is $2, but if you live and die by your calendar, Agenda can make it easier to manage.

Google Voice

Google Voice is still one of the best utilities you can install on your Android phone for seamless, free SMS, call screening, and customizable visual voicemail. It's completely free, and regardless of whether you think its future may be in doubt, it's still one of the first things you should install and set up on a new Android device, whether you've been using it for years, or you're just getting started. Of course, you could go all the way and import your number and manage it through Voice, but even if you don't, it still has tons of features to offer, and at the very least can make sure you're never bothered by telemarketers and spam callers again—and it can make the people who do actually call you to talk feel welcome.

SwiftKey

SwiftKey has come a long way even since the last time we included it in the Android App Pack. It's picked up a number of significant updates, including SwiftKey "Flow," or Swiftkey's take on gesture-typing. Draw out the word you want on the keyboard and SwiftKey will type it out for you. Additionally, SwiftKey has improved its word prediction in recent updates, and even though you can connect the keyboard to your email, Facebook, Twitter, and other social accounts so it can quickly learn the words you use most often, you don't have to in order for it to quickly learn your personal language and suggest words to you that make sense (and make typing easier). It's skinnable in a dozen different colors and styles, and it works on just about any Android device. It's $4, but if you want to try it for free, you can. There's a reason its our favorite Android keyboard.

Google Keep

Google Keep is probably one of Google's most underrated, but most powerful products. It's an incredible tool for staying organized, clipping quick notes, getting your thoughts down quickly, and organizing checklists both on the desktop and on mobile devices. On Android it really shines, and offers useful home screen widgets and lightning-fast note taking that synchronizes with your Google account. It's worth installing if for no other reason than to have a stickies app for Android, but once you start using it you'll quickly reveal its true power.

DashClock Widget

DashClock Widget, even though it's only available for Android 4.2+ devices, is an incredibly powerful tool to supercharge your lock screen with useful information, notifications, and mini-applications. Aside from showing you basic things like the weather, battery status, incoming notifications, and more without you having to even unlock your device, it's also incredibly flexible and can tie into a number of popular applications to offer even more useful at-a-glance information. Essentially, DashClock's add-ons (and the add-ons offered by other app developers) make your lock screen just as functional as a home screen, just more streamlined.

SwipePad

SwipePad is a quick launcher for your favorite Android apps and settings. Sure, you can add items to your home screen and open them that way, but SwipePad gives you a kind of "speed dial" launcher for your favorite apps and settings that's just a gesture away, whether you're on your home screen or already in an application. It's not the only app switcher like this, but it's definitely one of the best, and the fact that it's so easy to use and set up means you'll never have to go back to the home screen or dig through the app drawer to get to one of your favorite apps again.

Pocket or Readability

Pocket and Readability are both tools that make it easy to clip articles from the web that you want to read later, save them, share them, and then read them whenever or wherever you want to—all without annoying site ads or busy and cluttered layouts. Each service has its own benefits and drawbacks, so you should definitely pick the one that works the best for you, but they're both worth looking at if you're looking for a quick way to clip articles for future reference or reading.

Internet and Communications

Chrome or Dolphin Browser

Chrome isn't just your favorite web browser for Android, it's one of the best. If you're running Android 4.0 or higher, it's a fast, flexible browser that can sync bookmarks, tabs, and passwords with Chrome on the desktop, on your tablet, or even on iOS. If you're not running Android 4.0 or higher, or you want an alternative, Dolphin Browser is still our pick as the best for Android because it's just as fast, offers syncing with the desktop through plug-ins, offer voice-assisted and gesture browsing, and is extendable with tons of add-ons that make the browser even better.

Falcon Pro

Falcon Pro is the best Twitter client for Android, hands down, and even though its wrapped up in drama with Twitter because of its popularity, there is a way around all of that that will let you use the app now that it's been pulled from Google Play. We think the hack is worth it. For your trouble, you get a feature-packed in-app browser and image viewer, support for in-app video, a great gesture-based interface, and tons more options that we don't have room to go into here. If you're looking for a similar option that's a little less hassle, try Twicca, our old pick for the best, or Carbon, another great gesture-powered Twitter client that recently picked up even more features.

Hangouts

Google's Hangouts may replace Google Talk, but it does more than Talk ever did. Chats, video chats, shared photos, and more are all in the same app and interface, saved and easy for you to download and back up, no matter how many people were involved with the conversation. Group chats and conversations are easy, and switching from chat to video chat is simple and easy. Hangouts also is the new home for Gmail calling, and Google Voice users can answer calls in Hangouts, making Hangouts feature rich whether you're using on the desktop or on your Android phone. You probably have Hangouts already, but if you're not using it, give it a try.

Kindle

The Kindle app for Android has been around for a long time, but if you have a lot of Kindle books, ebooks in general, or PDF documents, it's still one of the best readers for all three. It's free, it's fast, and it gives you access to everything available in the Kindle store. You also get access to your Kindle account, and any documents you have stored in the cloud with Amazon, which makes it perfect for ebooks you've downloaded elsewhere.

Press

Press is one of the best newsreaders for Android, and while it started its life as a simple Google Reader client, its evolved since the death of Google Reader to support Feedly, Feed Wrangler, and Feedbin, so you can still get your feed reading on using its gorgeous interface. It's fast, flexible, and while it's $2, think of it as the Reeder of Android—which is a big compliment. If you'd rather not spend the money and you're already a Feedly user, you can grab the Feedly app for Android and go right to the source.

Hideman

Hideman is a free VPN service for Android, OS X, and Windows. The Android app is easy to install and easy to use, and runs quietly in the background while you surf. As we've mentioned in some of our VPN coverage in the past, a free VPN service is only as good as how much the provider logs your activities and how much they're willing to give you for free. Hideman wins on both counts: The service keeps no logs on paid users and minimal logs on free ones (and even purges those after 14 days), and free users can use the service for four hours per week completely free. If you need a mobile VPN for those quick work sessions at the coffee shop or the library, Hideman is worth a look. If you want a completely free (ad-supported) option that's also privacy focused, try Hotspot Shield.

Google Now

Google Now recently earned our pick as the best virtual assistant for Android, and for good reason. No other tool we've seen proactively offers the wealth of relevant and useful information that Google Now does that specific to your current location. If you're traveling, Google Now will show you the weather in your location before you get off the plane, open up a translation card so you can make sense of the local language, and show you directions to the hotel you booked a room in, all within moments of you arriving at your destination, without you having to do anything. Even if you're not traveling, Google Now will proactively tell you when you need to leave to get to an appointment on your calendar, how long the commute home will be before you leave work, and more.

Google Maps and Navigation

After a major update (if not a little controversial) recently, Google Maps for Android now has the same new, refreshed look that we previewed at Google I/O earlier this year. It sports a cleaner, more organized layout, better driving directions, more options to explore local businesses and destinations, live traffic reports and accident rerouting, and more. Even without the latest feature additions, Google Navigation is by far the best turn-by-turn navigation service for Android, and Google Maps is the best maps app for Android as well.

1Weather

1Weather is one of the most attractive and feature packed weather apps we've ever seen, and it's only been updated since we first looked at it. Even if you don't think you need another weather app on your Android phone, 1Weather may convert you. The app offers real-time weather and forecasts for any location you set, the option to set multiple locations or have the app follow you around via GPS, extended forecast info, animated radar and cloud cover maps, alerts and advance warnings of weather conditions (including push notifications for National Weather Service alerts), a beautiful home screen widget, and more, and its completely free.

Valet

Nothing is worse than forgetting where you parked your car, and Valet is an Android app that will help you remember, even if you forget to open the app and mark where your car is currently located. The app works best when you mark where your car is parked before you leave it, but if you don't, it'll watch the Bluetooth connection to your car stereo (if you have one) and when it drops off, it'll mark your car's location. It's $4, but if you want a free option, you can check out previously mentioned Park Me Right.

Lookout

Lookout combines antivirus and antimalware tools for Android with lost phone tracking in case your phone is lost or stolen. It's one of the few Android security tools that's actually remarkably powerful and does what it promises. Lookout will keep your phone safe, help you find it when it's lost, back up your data, and protect your personal information from mobile threats, phishing sites, malware, and more.

Music, Photos, and Video

Google Play Music and/or Pandora and/or Spotify

You could choose your favorite of these three or keep them all installed if you have accounts with each. They all bring something different to the table. Pandora offers deep and rich song library and taste-based matching. Spotify sports a massive library of music you can play at any time. Google Play Music features a cloud-based repository of your own tunes and its newly launched Google Play Music All Access Service. Google Play Music has the benefit of being a great music store as well as a cloud locker for all of the music you buy from them (although Amazon MP3 shouldn't be overlooked if that's what you're looking for).They're all great portable music services, run well on almost any Android device, and bring great music to you on the go.

FitRadio

If you're trying to get into shape, or you just want some music to liven up your workout routine, FitRadio can deliver in droves. All of their stations and playlists are engineered to help you keep the energy up while you exercise so you're motivated to push harder and get through your workout. The app is free and some of the music is free, but if you want more playlists and more music, you'll have to pony up for a subscription. It's not much, and it definitely beats assembling your own workout playlists if you're short on time, or listening to the same songs over and over again every time you go for a run or hit the stationary bike.

Instagram

Instagram may be an odd inclusion in the App Pack, but the app made such a huge splash when it arrived on Android that its worth highlighting. Also, now that Instagram features 15-second video clips, it's an excellent way to not just share your photos with your friends, but also to share short video clips with them or keep them on your own for posterity. There are other great alternatives out there, but Instagram is definitely the heavyweight.

Snapseed

If you're a real photo fan and love tweaking and editing your photos before you share them, or just want a better photo management app for your Android phone or tablet, Google's own Snapseed is worth a download. Sure, you can apply those photo filters that you'll find in other photo sharing apps, but you can also crop, edit, sharpen, auto-correct, tune, and make your photo look better before you share it. It's completely free, and probably the most comprehensive yet still easy-to-use photo editing tool for Android.

Camera ZOOM FX

Where Snapseed is great at photo editing, Camera ZOOM FX is stellar at helping you take great photos in the first place. We think it's the best camera app for Android, and it's picked up a number of updates that make it even better than it was when it earned the title. It's still worth your $3, if only for the extensive burst shooting options, timer features, steady-shot helper, controls for ISO, brightness, exposure, and light metering, and grid overlays that help you line up the perfect shot. When you're finished, you can apply photo filters, text, graphics, or effects before saving the photo to your library or sharing it with the world.

Plex

Plex brings all of your music, movies, videos, and everything else in your computer's media library right to the small screen so you can enjoy all of it when you're on the go. You'll need the desktop app on your home media machine or HTPC, but it's not hard to set up.With a little effort, you'll stream music and movies to your phone, watch them on the small screen, pick up where you left off on the big screen, and you'll be able to do all of it without worrying about file formats or video codecs.

Utilities

Greenify

Greenify can help you maximize the battery life of your Android phone by automatically hibernating apps in the background so they don't spawn additional processes or keep running when you're not using them. You can customize which apps get hibernated and which apps can run unchecked, and if you drop $3 to support the developer, you get the "donation version" that can hibernate system apps as well as user-installed ones. It's not a task killer—it's much better than that, and it can add hours of life to your ailing battery.

Titanium Backup

Titanium Backup is still the king of Android backup utilities, and it's the easiest way to backup your data and move to a new phone or make automated, hassle-free backups of your Android phone. There's been some recent competition, it's still the most complete, feature-rich backup option. The Pro key will set you back $7, but making sure your data is backed up is worth the price.

Dropbox and/or Google Drive

Dropbox and Google Drive are two of the best cloud storage providers on the market, and both offer a ton of features that make them worth installing on your Android phone. Dropbox alone makes the process of getting files on and off your phone simple, and it makes sideloading APKs a snap. Dropbox's auto-upload feature also makes backing up all of the photos you shoot with your Android phone seamless, and can even share them with the world if you want it to. Google Drive features OCR and character recognition using your Android device's camera, and tightly integrates with Google Docs, Presentations, Spreadsheets, and more—as well as giving you access to cloud storage space for files and photos.

CloudCube

Cloud storage providers give out space like candy these days, and CloudCube is the app that lets you manage it all from one app. Dropbox, Google Drive, Ubuntu One, Cubby, Box, SkyDrive, Copy, SugarSync, and more are all supported, and you can see how much space you have in each at a glance. CloudCube makes moving files across cloud storage services easy, lets you synchronize any folders on your Android device with whichever cloud service you choose, and lets you browse and download files from any of the services you use.

Tasker

Tasker is the ultimate automation and tweaking app for Android. If you've ever wondered how to make your phone do "x" when "y" happened, Tasker can automate it. Recent updates have made the app easier to use, and you don't have to look far to see some of the incredible things you can do with the app, from controlling your car with your voice to automating every room in your house. Tasker can be tricky to get started with, but once you've set up a few actions, it's off and away.

ES File Explorer

ES File Explorer is our favorite file management tool for Android, and for good reason. You get complete access to your phone's file system in an intuitive interface, access to cloud storage services for quick downloads and APK installs, advanced tools to manage, install, and uninstall, applications, a gallery for your photos and image folders, a built-in FTP client, the ability to transfer files over Bluetooth, and more. Best of all, it's completely free. All of that power will cost you nothing, and it runs smoothly on virtually any version of Android.

AirDroid

If you let your phone charge while you work at your computer but don't like the idea of having to pick it up every time a new SMS message comes in or a notification pops up on your phone, AirDroid lets you manage your Android phone from your web browser. Whether your phone is on the same network as your computer or not, you get complete control over it, and can respond to text messages, update applications, manage your phone's storage, download and share photos, and even find your device if it's lost.

Food and Entertainment

Yelp

Sure, Yelp can help you find something tasty to eat in your neighborhood, or give you the lowdown on that new restaurant that opened across town, but it's useful for much more than that. People review just about everything on Yelp, from libraries to apartment communities, and if the reviews aren't enough, you can use it to learn about nearby events, venues, or happenings around town. If you are reading about a new restaurant or looking up the menu of a place you've been meaning to try, you can use Yelp to make reservations.

IMDB

IMDB puts the internet's largest database of information about movies, TV shows, actors and actresses, and more right in the palm of your hand. Searching for your favorite movie, performer, or TV show takes a couple of seconds. You can even look up movie trivia, find out when that movie you and your friends are talking about nostalgically actually came out, and now you can even buy movie tickets within the app for that blockbuster you've been planning to see.

Netflix or Hulu

If you've cut the cable or just enjoy streaming video from the web, one or both of these are probably already installed on your Android phone. If not, they're worth a look depending on the ones you use most heavily. They can be resource drains especially on smaller and older devices, but they all give you a gateway to thousands of movies, TV shows, and video clips. Pick your favorite, or download the client for the service you're already paying for streaming video.

The Extended Pack

Slice

Part package tracking tool and part shopping organizer, Slice hooks into your email account and watches for order confirmation emails from online stores you shop with. It processes those order confirmations for you, keeps track of how much you're spending where, and notifies you on your phone when your items ship, are out for delivery, or are delivered to your home or office. You can track your packages at any time, review past orders, or get a single view of all of the online shopping you've done at multiple retailers in one secure view, which is great if you buy almost everything online (or it's the holiday season).

Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher

If your phone came with a bunch of carrier crapware or a bloated, laggy application launcher like TouchWiz or MotoBlur (or even Sense), you'll want a new, slimmer, trimmer launcher that can get you closer to the stock Android experience. Nova Launcher is our pick as the best launcher for Android, but it's exceptionally similar to Apex Launcher, and we know they're pretty close feature-wise. They both offer free versions, so you can try them both to see which one works best for you. Both of them allow you to customize your Android experience as much or as little as you want—if you want a bare, stock-like experience, you can go with the default setup. If you like animated transitions, scrolling docks, widgets in folders and folders on the dock, spring-launched shortcuts, and more, you can have that too.

Silence

There's nothing worse than missing a text message because you're at home and left your phone on silent so you weren't disturbed at work, or getting to the office only to have a phone call blare your favorite jam across the office. Silence automatically adjusts your sound and wireless settings based on the time of day, or based on what's on your Google Calendar. World’s Largest Building : An Amazing Display of Modern Architecture!

New Century Global Centre, acclaimed to be the world’s largest building is a vast wavy rectangular box of glass and steel that will house shops, hotels, offices and a faux ocean beach with a huge LED screen for video sunsets..

Pacing ahead of Dubai in terms of largest building, China is on the path of growth and development. Opened last month in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu, New Century Global Centre has 19 million square feet of floor space equivalent to 329 football fields, emerging above Dubai’s airport, the previous record holder. This building is about a third of a mile long, more than 1300 feet wide and about 328 feet high.

The New Century Project illustrates that China's growth has spread from the country's more prosperous eastern and southern regions to the west, where wages are lower and the central government has encouraged development with subsidies and tax breaks. The construction of the building is backed by local governments and this largest building aims to boost the global stature of the capital city of Sichuan province, known for its spicy cuisine.

According to the plan, the building once completed will comprise of a water park with a 1300-foot coast and beaches under a gigantic glass dome, as its central piece and a 492-foot-by-131-foot LED screen above a section of water playing videos of an ocean horizon. The building is so large that up to 6,000 visitors will be able to sunbathe, play in a wave pool, sip cocktails or feast on seafood at a time.

It will also consist of two five star hotels, 14-screen movie theater and an ice rink. In addition, set in a facsimile of a Mediterranean town under faux blue skies, the building will also comprise of high end boutiques. The shopping section in the building has been accessible to the public since June and the building’s office space has been occupied for some time.

Samsung Galaxy S III explodes, injures 18 year old girl.

An exploding cellphone is no joke. A Samsung Galaxy S III exploded in the pants of 18 year-old Fanny Schlatter, and as you can see, it did plenty of damage to her thigh not to mention the handset. Now, we've seen people claim that their phone exploded out of nowhere only to find out later that the device was put in the microwave to cover up the fact that it had been dropped in the toilet first. Looking at this situation, one can see that this is not the case here.

There isn't much information on what caused the explosion, but the victim's paints had to be cut to prevent her from sustaining further damage.

The explosion took place at the girl's place of employment and Samsung Switzerland said that it is investigating and will probably send the phone back to Korea for a an examination.

The Jacob Diamond is a large diamond, ranked seventh in the world, known earlier as the Imperial or Great White Diamond. It is believed to be the Victoria Diamond, owned by the Nizam of Hyderabad and currently owned by the Government of India.

It is cut in a rectangular cushion-cut, with 58 facets, and measures 39.5 mm long, 29.25 mm wide and 22.5 mm deep. The diamond weighs 184.5 carats (36.90 g).

A youth, convicted for raping a minor girl with whom he had eloped and later married, has been spared of the jail term by a Delhi court which said he has "realised his mistake" and sentencing him would "disrupt" his married life."The convict is sentenced to the period of imprisonment already gone," additional sessions judge Virender Bhat said, while observing that the youth himself had come forward to plead guilty so he should be handed a lesser sentence instead of a minimum of seven years for the offence of rape."The convict has himself come forward to admit his guilt which implies that his conscience has pricked him and he has realised his mistake.""In my opinion, the conduct of the prosecutrix herself in the whole affair, coupled with the accused himself coming forward to plead guilty, thus showing utmost sense of remorse and respect for the law, constitute special reasons for awarding lesser sentence upon the convict than the prescribed minimum period of seven years for the offence under section 376 (rape) of the IPC," the judge said.The youth was named in a charge sheet under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act after he was arrested by the police in June 2012 on the allegation that he kidnapped a 16-year-old girl, one of his relatives, and had raped her.However, after charges were framed against the youth, the girl had told the court that the accused is her husband and she had willingly eloped with him to marry and now they were living together as husband and wife."The convict is a young boy just 22 years of age. It has also come on record that the couple has been blessed with a girl child. Therefore, in my opinion, if the convict is sent to jail for some more period at this time, it will create hardship and mental agony to the prosecutrix herself who shall be left with no source of income and would not be able to maintain the infant child," the court said."The happy family of the prosecutrix and the convict would be disrupted and thrown into disarray," it said.

It often occurs due to conflicts in software when applications try to run in tandem.While bugs can cause software to crash or produce unexpected results, certain defects can be used to gain unauthorised access to systems.Facebook said it started the Bug Bounty programme a little more than two years ago to reward security researchers who report issues and to encourage people to help keep the site safe and secure."The programme has been even more successful than we'd anticipated," Facebook said in a statement on its website.We've paid out more than $1 million in bounties and have collaborated with researchers from all around the world to stamp out bugs in our products and in our infrastructure." 10 Ways to Easily Upgrade your Android Experience (Without Rooting)

If you have a new Android phone or tablet, or even if you have an older Android device that you’re looking to get more out of, then you can upgrade your experience in only a few minutes using a collection of free and paid apps. Fortunately, you won’t have to root your phone or risk damaging its software in anyway along the way.

Most of the apps and services described below require at least Android 4.0. Some of them have free versions, but I’ve linked to the paid version when possible, since I want to support these developers and to promote ad-free software.

1. Install a custom launcher

What’s a custom launcher? In plain English, it’s the service that is triggered whenever you hit the home button on your phone or open up your all apps drawer. Facebook Home is the most famous custom launcher for Android, but it isn’t good, because it does the opposite of what a good launcher should do: enhance the value of your entire suite of apps and services.

Nova Launcher (Prime) is one of my favorite custom launchers. Here’s what it lets you do:

Change how your app icons look: see the entry below on icon packs.
Hide icons for unused system apps (without disabling them): you won’t have to skim over “Navigation” or “News and Weather” anymore.
Control your home screens with custom gestures: for example, double tap to bring up Nova Settings, pinch-out to show multitasking bar, or pinch-in to see all homescreens, for example.
Add unread counts to certain app icons: Android doesn’t support these numbered badges by default.
Scroll more quickly thru screens: Nova and other launchers allow for rapid, silky smooth animations and screen transitions.

2. Buy an icon pack

Icon packs can beautify your Android experience by giving all of your app icons a unified aesthetic (e.g., make them all blue, or make them all square and flat). They only work if you are running a custom launcher. In many cases, the icon pack will radically change how an app’s icon look and how you think about it: Snapchat may become like a Pac-Man ghost, for example:

My favorites include: SMPL Blue, Stark, Vintage, and Lustre.

3. Replace the stock Android keyboard

Swype + Dragon in action.

Android’s keyboard took a quantum leap forward with gesture typing in Jelly Bean, but it’s no match for some of the 3rd-party alternatives available (and said alternatives are essential if you’re running a version of Android that doesn’t support gesture typing out of the box).

My favorite is Swype, which is much more accurate, features a good dictation system (called Dragon), lots of custom gestures, and uses an account system to backup your custom dictionaries. It will literally save you minutes each day by cutting down on stupid autocorrect mistakes or miscues from the stock keyboard.

SwiftKey is another popular alternative.

4. Install Dashclock Widget

Dashclock Widget is a must-have for Android 4.2+. It gives you a rich set of information (unread Gmail/SMS, missed calls, weather) right on your lockscreen, plus it’s highly customizable via slew of 3rd-party extensions.

5. Configure Fast Reboot Pro

Fast Reboot Pro is an invaluable utility that can restart/refresh many of your apps and system processes. Oncer rebooted, your phone should You can add exclusions and you can even set up exact times of the day at which you’d like Fast Reboot Pro to perform a reboot.

6. Install Battery Widget Reborn

Battery Widget Reborn is an efficient way to keep tabs on your battery level, usage, and history. It has a persistent, expandable notification that can give you estimated battery life remaining (or time until the phone is fully charged) and that can also put the phone into “night mode,” disabling all mobile data, background sync, wifi, and bluetooth for as long as you wish. You can also set up automatic “night mode” periods, such as from 12-8am.

7. Tweak your input settings for better battery life

You can save a ton of battery life on Android by simply tweaking some settings like haptic feedback, lock/unlock sounds, and 2g/3g network usage.

8. Install MX Player Pro

Android isn’t good at video playback. Luckily, MX Player Pro solves that problem by giving you a clean, hardware-accelerated player with lots of simple gestures.

9. Use top-shelf alternatives to official/stock social network apps

The official Facebook app is a battery-drainer and remarkably unstable, too. Twitter has been getting better, but I still prefer a 3rd-party client. Many of these clients, whether they are for Twitter or another network, often have better design and are more battery-efficient (in the case of Facebook and Twitter clients, they refresh less often). Here are some good clients to use:

There are a lot of good widgets, as well as some good standalone widgets apps like the peerless Beautiful Widgets Pro, which I used to display the current date and weather.

BlackBerry Could Make Android & iOS Users Wait Until September For BBM

We’ve seen lots of demand for BBM on Android and iOS since BlackBerry announced in May that the service would finally go cross-platform. And the Canadian company has promised us that the app will be here by the end of summer. But how long is BlackBerry’s summer?

According to one company executive, we could be waiting up until September.

I know summer can stick around for many months in some parts of the world, but here in the U.K., we’re lucky if it lasts a week. In other countries, it disappears in August. Unfortunately for those waiting for BBM, BlackBerry’s summer runs all the way up until September.

“The service is coming to Android this summer,” BlackBerry India managing director Sunil Lalvani told IBN Live. “But summer as per North America, where it remains till September.”

Lalvani confirmed BBM would be available on Android and iOS before the end of September, but a specific release date is still a mystery.

Given BlackBerry’s record for missing release dates, it’s no wonder BBM fans are eager for the company to be more transparent with its plans. But it appears the company is keeping them quiet — possibly because it doesn’t want to announce dates it could miss.

If we hear more, we’ll let you know right away, of course. But I suspect we won’t BlackBerry will keep quiet until the day BBM is ready to hit the App Store and Google Play.

Back to 1755, a person named Henry Hall, aged 94 years, who was the oldest-known member of the Hall Family of Lighthouse Keepers that kept lights around the English and Welsh coasts, lost his life due to ingestion of a melted lead. It all started when a spark in the lamp had set the roof alight and eventually the whole of Rudyard’s Tower was engulfed in flames. He tried putting the fire out but eventually was forced to retreat down the tower. Not knowing what was lying in his destiny he looked up at the lighthouse when a molten led directly fell into his throat that later caused his death. That piece of lead is now retained in the collections of the National Museums of Scotland.

The American revolutionary – James Otis Jr. hoped his death to come by a bolt of lightning and often told his friends and relatives about it. On May 23, 1783 suddenly his wish was fulfilled when the lightning struck the chimney of a friend’s house in whose doorway he was standing and he is reported to have told his sister "My dear sister, I hope, when God Almighty in his righteous providence shall take me out of time into eternity that it will be by a flash of lightning". A Man was shot with a bullet in his forehead and die after 67 days.

During the year 1877, an incident took place at Deadwood, South Dakota on 14th January 1877 where a person named David Lunt was shot in the saloon fight. A person named Tom Smith suddenly entered the saloon with a handgun and affirmed that if anybody moved he would shoot them. Con Stapleton (group member with David Lunt) grabbed Tom Smith and tried to disarm him. During the course of action the bullet was shot from the handgun and it hit David Lunt and struck his forehead. David survived the incident. Thereafter, he started doing his every day routine chores when all of a sudden after a period of 67 days he felt a terrible headache and died on 22nd march 1877. As per the autopsy report, David died due to the bullet shot but nobody could determine the reason as to how he survived for such a long period after the incident.

Well during the year 1941 an American novelist and short story writer – Sherwood Anderson died because of swallowing a toothpick during a party. The incident took place on the cruise which was going towards South America. Anderson and his wife were on the cruise liner Santa Lucia when Anderson experienced abdominal pain and was taken to a hospital in Colón, Panama where he died on 8th march 1941. His autopsy report showed that he had unintentionally gulped down a toothpick while eating hors d'oeuvres or either from martini olive.

The Formula One race driver, Alan Stacey was killed during the Belgian Grand Prix race in the year 1960. The incident took place on 14th October 1862 when Jim was playing a match against the Union of Morrisania. He died after 4 days of injury in his home on 18th October 1862.

The Austrian/American logician and mathematician Kurt Gödel died due to hunger when his wife was hospitalized for six months in the year 1978. He had a compulsive fear of being poisoned and would only eat the food prepared by his wife Adele. Adele was hospitalized for six months and could no longer prepare food for Gödel. Due to the fear of being poisoned he refused to eat food and died due to hunger. He weighed 29.48 kg (65 pounds) when he died on 14th January 1978. Finding Hard To Recall Your Dreams? Now Simply Record Them!

Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could record your dreams, your fantasies and superb ideas that strike your sub-conscious mind? Your wish would soon be fulfilled. According to a new research, we can now record our dreams and thoughts that come in our sub-conscious mind. Scientists believe that development in this technology would allow us to read others’ thoughts too.

Three researchers from university of California, Berkeley participated in this experiment. They entered a functional MRI (Magnetic Resource Imaging) system. These three subjects were made to watch two different Hollywood movies trailers while the machine recorded their blood flow through the brain’s visual cortex, the part of the brain that process visual information.

The readings of the machine were fed as input to a computer program which converted these readings into three-dimensional volumetric pixels called voxels. The brain signals generated by moving pictures are decoded by this process. In this experiment, a computer program was made that learnt the association of brain activity with the visual patterns in the movie while the subjects watched the first set of clips. Then the other set of clips tested the movie reconstruction algorithm. This computer program was made to analyze 18 million seconds of random YouTube videos. Thus a huge database was created for the potential brain activity. From this huge database, the computer program selected the one hundred clips that were almost similar to the ones watched by the subjects.

This computer program mimics our brain. When we see a yellow flower, our brain tries to match this yellow color with the different shades of yellow color available in our memory. Similarly this computer program compares the brain reactions with the huge database of 18- million-second videos and picks up the clips that are most similar to the brain reactions. These clips are then merged into a video. This new video is almost similar to the original video clip that the subjects watched. Thus, bigger the database of videos repositories and higher the computing power, the better would be the results.

This experiment is being considered as a major break-through in the history of computer science and biology. The neuroscientist Jack Gallant rightly stated “We are opening a window into the movies in our minds." Scientists are also speculating that in coming decades, we would even be able to read each other’s minds.

We stay so preoccupied in our day to day life that the thought of growing up and aging doesn't even cross our minds. Even if it does, we are too busy to take steps to prevent our face from wrinkles or prevent our hair from turning grey. However, there is a lady who deserves insurmountable credit for maintaining herself like a girl in her youth.

Seventy year old Annette Larkins, a resident of Miami-Dade Country, Florida assures she has been married for 54 years. She has no shame in walking with her husband who is 70 years of age while people stay rapt in disbelief on finding out that the girl who looks like the man’s daughter is actually his wife.

The secret behind her charming youthful looks is her Fountain of Youth. Fountain of Youth is her backyard garden wherein Annette grows all kinds of vegetables and fruits.Her raw vegetarian diet has made her look fabulous even in her old age.

At 30 stories tall and 183,000-square feet hotel has been built by Broad Group, a Chinese construction company in Hunan Province in just 360 hours. Yes, you read it right; this extraordinary building has been built in mere 15 days.

And the bigger surprise that comes our way is that the quality of this building has not been compromised over time. The building is earthquake resistant up to magnitude of 9. Its sustainable architecture design has 4-paned insulated windows and a smart heat conservation system. Dimitry Itskov, a 32 year old Russian billionaire is planning on living forever. He plans to achieve this feat by the year 2045, which gives the name of his idea-“Initiative 2045”

He has a simple idea- To build an android body for himself.

As simple as it may sound it’s really complicated in reality. The idea aims to create the technology enabling the transfer of a person’s personality into an advanced non-biological carrier and extending life, including to the point of immortality.

Itskov has named his “advanced non biological carrier” “an avatar” (some inspiration from a Hollywood movie!!), which is regulated by a brain computer interface. Itskov says that it function somehow like the 2009 James Cameron movie Avatar. No matter how dubious it sounds but Itskov has put a lot number of world class experts to work on his idea.

We are facing the time where the unconscious evolution period has almost finished, and we come to the new era, a new period of controlled evolution,” says Itskov in a video interview.

“Initiative 2045” wants to make the Avatar technology available by the year 2020.

Itskov also says that by the year 2025 he expects autonomous life-support system for the human brain linked to a robot, which means he will be on a hold of technology that could implant the human brain into a robot. By the year 2035 a human should be able to upload there brain into a robot and by the year 2045 we will be replaced by holograms or our body will be. “We will transform into a new species, when this will happen” says Itskov.

To make these goals a reality, the Global future Congress held its first meeting in Moscow last year. The Congress has promised that it will reveal the most human like robot the world has ever seen when they will meet in New York in June this year.

There are a few flaws to Itskov’s idea, but many believe that it can happen. Itskov’s initiatives 2045 has lead almost twenty thousand people supporting his idea. Many folks are also calling for the year 2045 as a new religion and set of ethics because they don’t believe any of the current ones can handle the societal implications of living forever. This in turn has lead Itskov to form his own political party in Russia called “Evolution 2045.”
