After yesterday, i feel all the more sober. For a lot reasons.

All the best for all of you J team and I Team and the S Team. Man, i will miss you all!

2008-03-09T01:24:00.000-08:00

Management Day, 8th March, 2008. The day we were all looking forward to, and did it come with a lot of icing on the cake! We had been eagerly awaiting the awards, one by one they called out the names.

This time he called out 5 teams first, IT Team did not figure there. Then came the prestigious Chancellor's award. Still not there. By this time i was getting the jitters. But Placements had still not figured anywhere. There must be something still.

Then the top awards of the year. The third prize went to CIT. Second prize went to Placements team. Now I was very very very tense. Where was IT Team???

"And the top most award goes to the team that gave SIBM a website that saved it more than 10 lakh, created a precedent in innovative HRD practices and result oriented approach - the Information Technology Team!"

The rest is history, its a legacy we are leaving behind. There were a lot of records we broke over the year. This was history. Nothing short of it. And to have been part of it, I am honored.

iD4 is here. Considering the features and the cool stuff on it, we've come a long way. From the 3.1 to version 4.0, its been a long journey. But of course, our seniors would always be really sentimental about the old version. But why don't take a look at the features we have put in?

IT Team Party - 2007

2007-08-09T08:38:00.000-07:00

IT TEAM News Network. Malaka Spice. Pune. 070807.

We started with yummy sea food soup with a generous helping of fish, chicken and spinach soup, followed by grilled chicken, sausages, smoked duck. Salivating already?? Wait!

Main course had mutton, chicken and accompanied by herb rice, and some other varieties.

As for the vegetarians, i have no clue what you guys had and I have no inclination to know the same too! All i can say is, eat a lot of tofu, cauliflower, potato and paneer.

And now for the pics!

Gyaan and food!

Striking a pose, while waiting for the food!

Yumm!

Don't look at my food lady! Wait for yours...

The Snaps!

All the four teams. PAT cake, not shown in the picture!

We had a gala induction into the council for the interim teams.
There was a large projector and nice four large chocolate cakes. Was too good. The room was packed with everyone! I am sure they would be talking about it for a long time!

Have a great year ahead gang! Join the party. We do take have a lot of fun!

Life after IT

2007-07-10T00:51:00.000-07:00

Long time no post from me... Satish actually complained. I'm flattered someone other than me actually follows the blog :)

What shall I write about ? Woh alumni waali feeling ab tak set in nahi hui. I still see everyone every weekend, hear about the latest buzz in IT, in their lives... Lots of interesting gossip :p-but we'll take that offline.

Met the new i team briefly - went into flashback mode remembering our i team :). So many memories..did we do all that in just 1 year!!!

The most amazing thing thus far is that the important things haven't changed. When I speak to Sumukh or Punya has a fit (notice I said Punya :p) , or Ram argues with me or Vinni tries to explain something he knows I wont agree too...-it's easy to forget the different lives we lead in different cities now.I'm glad the connect remains.

Have a blast guys. This is a truly fantastic year as far as memories go. Show everyone that IT truly rulz!!

P.S.- Tell i team to start posting !!

I Team Interviews

2007-07-02T23:40:00.000-07:00

What an experience! Interim Team interviews are finally done. What an awesome lot for the IT Team. They totally rocked!

Got 37 applications and it really was not easy to choose amongst them. Everyone had something new to offer, other than of course web consultancy. It’s a new trend. People earlier used to say IT Team does Wifi. Now they are more like - IT Team does Web Con. Lol!

Looks like we have a tough semester ahead; and would aim to break all previous records. But more than that, it’s important that we mould them into what could be an awesome lot! Six senior team members from various backgrounds have enough experience to mentor and lead from the front. Of course I am the bakra!

Applications Invited

2007-07-02T23:29:00.001-07:00

So we did IT yet again! Here is how we did it!
Unlike the usual presentations we made, this year we added yet another element - WOW!

Setting a SIBM example

The most photogenic team ever!

Miss my bachchas

2007-04-07T03:02:00.000-07:00

The council room is empty... No cartoons on the whiteboard, no litter on the desk,no bags to trip over, no movies being downloaded on the desktop, no music playing - it's eerie...
I want to rewind to 2 sems back- interviews, i team, j team. ADdIcT, deja Vu times, Bank of Mah project times, summers and crp. I want to allocate work and debug errors.
I want to Reena-proof documents and have meetings in Barista again.

I wanna solve Vishal's doubts n resolve Tunya's tears.
Miss my bachchas...

Management Day '07

2007-03-08T10:49:00.000-08:00

Management Day arrived with much fanfare. As always, it was accompanied by a flurry of activity with the silver jubilee alumni reunion happening in the morning and odd jobs to finish in the afternoon. We sat in the council room Vinni (new IT coord) n me absorbing the day which both of us would never forget.
So it began..long-winded speeches, awards and finally, the much-awaited culturals. As I watched the new exec council take their oath of office, I was utterly overwhelmed by a feeling of deja vu as I saw their excitement, the enthusiasm of the batch, the sheer magic of the moment.Has it been a year already? Where did time fly??
We got an award for building the SIBM brand while someone wondered in a parody what 10 people do in IT-all on the same day :). T'isnt work at all- we just do what we love and it translates into brilliant results.
Time to form senior teams now and then we shall hang up our shoes and try our darned best to deaddict ourselves from the everyday pull of IT. Good luck to the future senior team. Do great work , have fun and never let go of the energy and madness that makes IT such a fantastic place.

Handover on Management Day!

2007-03-08T03:58:00.000-08:00

The beginning of the end...

2007-02-07T09:02:00.000-08:00

Sem 4 is simply whizzing past - much faste than I want or like. My seniors kept reiterating that I ought to sit back and smell the roses so to speak but I never really paid attention.Suddenly I realise that I'm almost done.
CRP came and went... as di hols, Goa, classes..and now Transcend is round the corner followed by management day.
Management day last year was particularly memorable. It was the day I officially became coordinator. It's been one hell of a year - loads of work, lots of laughter, tons of crazy moments that only IT can have and the most fantastic teams ever. I'd do it all over again if I could :).
Time for new blood to take over and do better. The process is underway. I look forward to the many proud moments that the future s-team is sure to bring me.Good luck guys.

CRP fever

2006-12-15T11:16:00.000-08:00

It's that time of the year again...the most dreaded and yet eagerly awaited CRP is here. Enless ppt's, stretched processes, sleepless nights, frantic reading, high stress levels..the signs are unmistakable.
Me happily placed and relieved. Laterals was a fun experience. No cut throat competition here- everyone is an expert in his own right. I was blessed to be surrounded by supportive folks and a jteam who never let me consider feeling dejected. The documentary crew who tried to film crp stress only got on film a lot of bad jokes and camaraderie. Offers were aplenty ...n so were decisions..How much is too much? We all wanted the perfect job with the perfect profile and the big bucks. It's tough when you're sure of what you want and tougher when you dont :)
N CRP is over just as suddenly as it started..and I dont know what to do with myself anymore :).

Shades of Grey & blue

2006-11-26T05:57:00.000-08:00

Its coming and its coming fast...and i can see it on the faces of Reena, Sumeet & Sumukh...
Sumeet delves deeper into his laptop...while Reena keeps changing her CV by the hour..Sumukh goes into hibernation..while UV takes his vacation..Virtual IT team member is finishing the last books on the planet..Definitely something in the air i cant smell ..

Life does go quick here.In couple of weeks it would have been six months in pune..Where did it all go ? No idea. But the gist has the IT team in the foreground. Through murky laptop delivery places, head banging on the addict code, enabling wi fi on IT disabled people its all there fresh and staring in my face. Thats just us ..Now i hear people planning of trips to goa and planning pre farewells...feels strange..

Let me get back to what i started off with. All the best to you guys. Doing well and making us proud you will do.There is no element of doubt about that.

Luv

Ram

Another semester done

Summers Day Zero

Virtual IT cooks for us

Sem 3's also done.Time seems to be whizzing past. Before we know it, we'll be starting with CRP. It's been an interesting sem team-wise.Iteam got formed and dissolved or dismantled as Punya likes to imagine.
Bachchas had their summers and then the jteam came in. Ana and Mohit joined our existing set of madcaps.I trust they will be madder- I ain't the freak magnet for nothing after all ...
Interesting piece of trivia- the maximum I've actually scolded any of them is about 40 seconds they claim ..
Last sem to go now..many more memories just waiting to be created .I'm sure this will be the most memorable sem of all.

Coke send our babe magnet a parcel

UV's bro visits ( yes- XY himself!!)

The IT Logo..

2006-10-22T08:11:00.000-07:00

This blog would be totally incomplete without our beloved Logo....

And Now.. a word from Mr. Sumukh Sharma.. clap clap clap

2006-10-21T11:48:00.000-07:00

I've been wanting to write a post ever since this blog was created.. but considering that I've been training to become a manager these past couple of years.. i was looking for someone else to do the writing. No one works! and I'm too lazy anyway...

So I'm gonna keep this short.. the primary reason being that i'm currently doped on too many medicines and my attention span is shorter than that of a fish abhi.

The IT Team's been part of my life at SIBM ever since I joined. Been part of the I, J and S teams.. and never thought once of leaving it. It's the funnest place to be in the council.. and we define how we work ( or more importantly what we dont do! ) Reena n i have been the only ones who've carried on since the i-team.. and we share a very special bond. Made loads of good friends along the way.. and man had tonnes of good times.

Of course... our S-team rocks today! sumeet is a great guy.. and i hope he finds a good "Wife" soon. He's the butt of our jokes.. but takes them all in his stride.. and of course.. my partner in crime whenever it comes to takin Reena's happiness.

UV's been the butt of the i-teams jokes of late ( Tunya is to blame) but he's a great punjabi munda as well. Of course.. the bugger jus snickers side main baithe jab main aur sumeet reena kee le rahe hote hain.

I think we had a fantastic i-team.. more than a junior team.. we made really good friends. that's all set to continue in the j-team as well... hopefully thoda kaam aur karenge ( :-P) .. so we can hang our boots comfortably.. and just come to the council room to have fun.

Of course... the pics will keep on goin up.. we now have a junior team member/ photographer in our ranks ( dont be fooled Ram.. we took u only for the camera) and so will the kisse. This was a just brief intro.. and I'll keep posting more in due course..

Who knows.. someday i might even post Sumeet's scandalous pose picture on this blog..

Till next time...

"the Brash one" and "amazingly talented one" as well
Sumukh

PS:: Vinnie.. You forgot to include really really bad jokes tht come in between all our conversations in the IT Team..

Algorithm for the typical work day @IT team

2006-10-18T23:43:00.001-07:00

Step 1: come to college, litter the IT room with bags all over the place.

Step 2: www.orkut.com

Step 3: get scolding from reena and and go back to Step 2. continue till you get the 'look'.

Step 4: Address issues like "My wifi is not working!". god atleast say my laptop's wifi configuration is giving a problem. if the subject is cute, stall and give fundas like satellite link down. also try for her phone number while you are at it.

Step 5: entertain some dumb people who cant get to type their name in a word document. Return to step 4, if the subject involved is cute and hot.

Step 6: lick LAB Lord's ass; if lucky might get to see sumukh and Lab ASS in an expletive battle. Enjoy the fun. Keep repeating step till desired 'result' is achieved.

Step 7: discover that our logins have been removed by rajesh and can no longer work from the IT room. go back to Step 6.

Step 8: Work allocation from Reena, go back to Step 2 and Step 3.

Step 9: NCC time, carry meetings to this place for serious fun.

Step 10: decide on movie timings and work out logistics.

Step 11: www.katz.ws

Step 12: Get blasting from ram for blocking the download ticket. balls to him. Return to Step 11 after 57 minutes.

Step 13: Reena gives that look, all windows closed. Pretend to be working on emails she sent for the day. go back to Step 2.

Step 14: Meeting time again. Decide on the next meeting. Continue steps 11 and 12 during the meeting. Move to step 4 and 5 during meeting if 'need arises.

Step 15: Decide on Dinner and 'discuss' critical IT issues like how to flog chetan.

Step 16: Execute step 10. Discuss 'work related issues'.

Step 16: Go back home and log on to gtalk. Pretend to work with the Busy status message. give assurance to reena about the work being done. at all costs avoid the 'look' getting transferred by net. typically comes as "hmmmm".

Step 17: Sleep. The End.

Senior IT '06 on Management Day

2006-10-18T02:32:00.000-07:00

This was the Senior IT Team of 2006. Since they're too lazy to post, here's a brief intro. Left to Right are Puneet, Disha (Coord) , Sudhir, Raksha and Vikram.

Points to note- Puneet n Disha were the cutest couple in college; Sudhir was the laziest ever; No one compares to Raksha when we talk of accident-prone; Vickie is the most awesome creative ever. ..

ADdIcT

2006-10-18T02:18:00.000-07:00

Lots of you have asked to see ADdIcT. So here's a teaser..... I'll leave the screenshots bit for the ex-Iteam to post cos they were the ones who made and so it's only fair that they get to show it off.
