Argentinean flag day

June, 20th is the National Argentinean Flag day and it dates from 1812.

It is a triband, composed of three equally wide horizontal bands coloured light blue, white and light blue. In 1818, a yellow Sun of May was added to the center.

The full flag featuring the sun is called the Official Ceremonial Flag (Spanish: Bandera Oficial de Ceremonia). The flag without the sun is considered the Ornamental Flag (Bandera de Ornato).

While both versions are equally considered the national flag, the ornamental version must always be hoisted below the Official Ceremony Flag.

USA Flag Day is celebrated on June,14th.
The American national flag has come through an eventful course of changes. The USA flag which we see these days has been effective since July 4, 1960.

The pledge :I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The Star Spangled Banner

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand

Where the Wild Things Are is a 1963 children's picture book by American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak

A young boy named Max, after dressing in his wolf costume, wreaks havoc through his household and is disciplined by being sent to his bedroom. As he feels agitation with his mother, Max's bedroom undergoes a mysterious transformation into a jungle environment, and he winds up sailing to an island inhabited by malicious beasts known as the "Wild Things." After successfully intimidating the creatures, Max is hailed as the king of the Wild Things and enjoys a playful romp with his subjects; however, he decides to return home, to the Wild Things' dismay. After arriving in his bedroom, Max discovers a hot supper waiting for him.

Webbing words

You will need:

Reproducibles (scroll down to download them)

What to do:

Vocabulary webs work well with older children but we can make some changes to fit our little kids.

For example if you are teaching vocabulary related to the senses, for instance, buy some pumpkins with different shapes.

Make a big chart with the drawing of a pumpkin in the centre. Explore the pumpkins using the five senses.

Draw 5 lines, one for the sense of hearing, one for tasting, one for smelling, one for seeing, and one for touching. Take notes about what your children say.

You can make a individual book with 5 pages and a cover. Write sentences “I can smell a pumpkin “ “I can taste a pumpkin”.. etc so children can draw their own experiences.
