i.e: an, a, the

i.e: The capital of France is Paris (A capital da França é Paris)

An or A (artigos indefinidos) quando falamos de algo no geral

i.e: I want to buy an umbrella (eu quero comprar um guarda-chuva)

Dica:

i.e: a dog, a cat, a box, a fish

i.e: an umbrella, an omelette, an apple, an hour (não pronuncia o h), an honour (não pronuncia o h),

Vejam outros determiners:

each, every

either, neither

some, any, no

much, many; more, most

little, less, least

few, fewer, fewest

what, whatever; which, whichever

both, half, all

several

enough

My (meu) i.e: This is my book (Este é o meu livro)

Your (seu) i.e: I like your hair (eu gosto do seu cabelo)

His (dele) i.e: His name is John (o nome dele é John)

Her (dela) i.e: Her name is Mary (o nome dela é Mary)

Its (deste OU sua) i.e: The dog is licking its paw ( o cachorro está lambendo sua pata)

Our (nosso) i.e: We have sold our house (Nós vendemos nosso cavalo)

Their (deles) i.e: The students thanked their teacher (os alunos agradeceram o professor deles)

Ex:

i.e: Antes do objeto: She is a Pretty woman (ela é uma mulher bonita).

Depois do verbo: This woman is Pretty (essa mulher é bonita)

i.e: It is a big dog (esse é um cachorro grande)

i.e: This is a nice red dress.

Vejamos no exemplo.

i.e: This is a nice long old red dress (Este é um velho vestido longo, vermelho legal)

Vejam alguns exemplo:

Ram is English. (Carneiro é ingles)

Because she had to wait, she became impatient. (por ter que esperar, ela ficou impaciente)

Is it getting dark? (está ficando escuro)

The examination did not seem difficult. (o exame não pareceu dificil)

Your friend looks nice. (seu amigo parece legal)

This towel feels damp. (Essa toalha parece molhada)

That new film doesn't sound very interesting. (o novo filme não soa muito interessante)

Dinner smells good tonight. (Jantar cheira bem hoje a noite)

This milk tastes sour. (O leite parece coalhado)

It smells bad.

i.e: She looked at him (Ela olhou para ele)

i.e: Short – Short”er”

i.e: Expensive – More expensive

Nesse caso, não podemos dizer: Expensiver (é bem feio e errado hehehe)

Alguns adjetivos tem certas excessões.

Exemplo:

Good – Better

Well – Better

Bad – Worse

Far – further/farther

i.e: John is taller than Peter (John é mais alto que Peter)

UM ERRO MUITO COMUN DOS BRASILEIROS

i.e: John is taller than me.

John “is”

I “am”

Poranto, o CORRETO seria: John is taller than I am.

SUPERLATIVOS

i.e: Short - Shortest

i.e: Expensive – Most expensive

Sempre usando o “if” nas frases, caracterizando assim a condição.

ZERO conditional – Quando o resultado da condição é SEMPRE verdadeiro

i.e: IF you hit the water till 100Cº, it WILL boil (se vc esquentar a água a 100Cº, ela vai ferver)

i.e: IF it rains, I WILL stay at home (se chover vou ficar em casa)

I WILL tell her, IF I see her (vou contra pra ela, se eu a ver)

i.e: IF I won the lottery, I WOULD buy a car (se eu ganhasse na loteria, eu “compraria” um carro)

IF I went to Canada, I WOULD be happy (Se eu fosse para o Canadá, eu seria feliz)

In - Out
On - Off
From - To

Aqui vão as dicas:

Prepositions of place
Prepositions of Place 2
Prepositions of Time

i.e: What are you capable of? (do que vc é capaz?)
Ao invés de dizer: Of what are you capable?

To: Ah! esse "to" - o pesadelo dos brasileiros.
Além do grande erro de pronúncia, a gente NUNCA sabe quando falar "to" e quando falar "for"... vai dizer que não é verdade hehehehe

Bom, ai é simples demais (pode acreditar)

"to" significa (para). Vejam alguns exemplos:
i.e: I'm going to give it to you (eu vou dar isso para vc)
i.e: I'm going to give it for you (eu vou dar isso por vc)

i.e: Send her a kiss for me (mande um bejo a ela por mim)
i.e: Send her a kiss to me (mande um beijo a ela para mim) esse ficou estranho, é para ela ou para mim?

Deu pra perceber a diferença.
Raciocinem da seguinte forma: "to" = in order to (referente a) / "for" = for some one (por alguém)

i.e: I do, he does – I work, he works
