As we head right into 2012 I wanted to recap my fall 2011 tour !

My Tour band, The Ingrid Gerdes Band, was comprised of awesome players and awesome people.

I like to donate annually, every December, to my top four charities as a way to give back but also to remind myself what the holiday spirit is all about.

I think it's easy to get caught up in the day to day hustle and bustle and also far too easy to hope someone else is "doing something about it."

This year I thought I would share my favorites in hopes of inspiring more giving. My feeling is that, no matter how small, giving what you can makes a difference.

*I am in no way affiliated with any of these organizations, they are just causes I strongly care about. There are so many others I would gladly champion as well, and I encourage everyone to educate themselves on what is out there. Happy Holidays!

I am so extremely excited to share that I will be performing and doing an interview on NPR's All Things Considered!! I will be traveling with my band to Washington D.C for an 11/11/11 taping which will broadcast Nationally on Thanksgiving Day! We will be performing 6 songs from my newest album "Shed." About NPR's All Things Considered: Currently the 5th most listened to radio show in the US with an audience of 13+ million listeners! It was also the first news program on NPR, and is broadcast live worldwide through several outlets.

Needless to say I have the highest respect for NPR and am extremely honored to have been asked on the show.

I am finally going to officially release Two new Remixes! I love the fusion sound producers Craig Welsch and Myroslaw Bytz have created. We feel like it's a new sound combining things from several genres. They are a bit dance, dub step, hip hop, house, R&B and a whole lot cool! :)

Hey All! Just wanted to shoot out some updates for the coming months.

I am still in the midst of a great blues radio campaign, which has been a lot of fun. I will be performing live and giving an interview Aug 27th on WUML 91.5FM Lowell, MA at 3pm on their Blues Deluxe show so stay tuned for that!

Several tracks on the album have been licensed to retail giants Gilly Hicks, a division of Abercrombie and Fitch, and Arden B, for national airplay on their in-store radio stations.

Songs from the album will also be heard on Showtime’s The L Word and the MTV programs Teen Wolf, The Hard Times of RJ Berger, Moving In and The World of Jenks.

Upcoming Tour! Starting this October I will be traveling all over the East Coast playing shows. I’ll be performing songs from Shed and maybe some new tunes! I have already been writing 2 new albums! I am super inspired lately and have a lot of music I want to record.

Remix’s! Ever wonder how my music would sound over a hard core house or dubstep track?! Well I’ve got three awesome dance re-mix’s coming up that will answer that question. I think you’ll be dancing to them big time! Look for them late July.

This summer I am performing every weekend at private functions with my other band The Boston Players, but when the season wraps look out for new Ingrid Gerdes original music and shows!

Wow! That was an amazing experience. Whirlwind travel and all day non-stop working for 2 days then back to Boston normally sounds like torture, but it couldn't have been more fun and stress free!

First of all, Turks and Caicos is what I now refer to as "Magic Island." The beauty is indescribable... literally magical. I have been to a lot of beaches and amazing locations, but this place surpasses them all.

Secondly, the people I was working with were stellar on all levels. Vassili Shields, the very talented director, was a complete joy to work with. From the first talks of which song, concept and location to the actual 14 hour day of shooting we saw eye to eye on everything. I can't wait to share the final product as I know he will make it something beautiful that I can personally treasure forever. Kym Murray, the AD, was so organized and relaxed while being on top of every detail the entire trip. She and Vassili are also two of the most fun people to hang out with, we laughed so much my stomach hurt. After the shoot wrapped we hit the island for a celebration night that will not soon be forgotten.

My hair and makeup team consisted of Brigitte Wildt and Ann Clift-Northcote, of Turks and Caicos, who were so organized and on top of it that every transition was smooth. I loved working with them both! Of course, I did my own wardrobe styling, so I can't complain about the stylist! :) Thank you again to those who I worked with, it was a joy!

I'll be departing for the Turks and Caicos islands in mere weeks to shoot my FIRST music video for the song, "Shed," off of my most recent album titled "Shed." That is right, it's the title track!
I chose this song for the video because it fits perfectly for the location and has all of the album themes within it: Strength, honesty, self realization, sass, and power!
I am very excited to be working with video director Vassili Shields to create a video that will be beautiful and artistic. Stay tuned, coming soon!! xx❤❤

Wow what a turn out! We packed the House Of Blues Foundation Room in Boston, MA on Friday 1/28/11! Thank you to everyone who came out to help me celebrate my second album, "Shed!" I was so honored and touched to have so many people who came from places far and wide to be there.

Thank you to my band (efMH with Paul Jefferson and Eric Tait on horns) and back ground singers. Eric French and Mr. Hyde tore it up as the opening and break acts and backed me like the pros they are. Dan Dan Zhu and Danielle Federov, my singers and close friends, thank you! Thank you to My sister and Rebecce Yu for all of your help and for flying in to be my roadies and Erika to be my photographer :) Thank you to everyone who sent their love and has supported my music and this album.
