The map was published in Historia National Geographic Magazine .

Maps were used to create the map with the explanation of the troop movements and development of the battle. We used a digital models of terrain, plant cover and satellite images.

Later was a 3D rendering of the ground and proceeded to treat the image. Drawings of troops were made by hand, and included the information necessary to understand the battle in Illustrator and photoshop.

Map of accompaniment was performed using GIS and adapting the style.

This map is specially made for the Balneario de Alange in 2005: http://www.balneariodealange.com/

Digital terrain models digital models of terrain, plant cover and satellite images were used to create the map.

Digital models of the ground of processed according to E. Imhof technique to curve the land and get a perspective convinvente that is perceived throughout the territory. Mountainous areas, is also exaggerated since the area to represent is fairly flat (Extremadura, Mérida) with the exception of the sierra from the right.

Later was a 3D rendering of the ground and proceeded to treat the image. The drawings of vegetation, roads, water reservoir and its reflections, clouds, urban centres were handmade in Illustrator and photoshop.

Maps of battles usually maps in two diemsiones which explain the movements of the troops during the battle and that are usually aimed at a public that is already familiar with military terminology and graphic design. On many occasions, the representation of the terrain tends to be of a technical nature, or non-existent. This makes that you are not perceived clearly the importance of the ground can have on the development of a battle.

Raising me making maps of battles for National Geographic magazine, I decided that the GIS integration, with actual data of the area and a complete graphics could allow the reader better understand the environment in which these battles were developed.

A more work with cartography and data graphics do not have why turn a technical explanation of a battle into something less serious.

A 3D view of the seabed for the UNEP RAC/SPA.

The RAC / SPA of the UNEP, the Organization in charge of environmental studies in the Mediterranean, commissioned EOSGIS a panoramic view of the seabed in the Mediterranean in 3D.

a common way to represent the relief of the seabed is using relief shading technique in an overhead view. This type of views presented in a very clear way the Navy relief.

The RAC / SPA of the UNEP, the Organization in charge of environmental studies in the Mediterranean, commissioned EOSGIS a panoramic view of the seabed in the Mediterranean in 3D.

l panorama was performed using actual data from the seabed acquired by sonar, measures of the gravimetric anomalies and satellite data, allowing it to perfectly distinguish all the structures present on the bottom of the Mediterranean.

A related problem with all kinds of mapping which represents the seabed is that despite being the difference in height from the sea in the very large terrestrial topography, not so much if you draw areas on the level of the sea and the seabed.

This makes it's not easy to represent the Navy relief and the land together without resorting to certain "tricks", how to use a different exaggeration for marine and terrestrial altitudes.

Initially it began treating the original scientific data to adapt them to the multimedia formats needed to work and perform the necessary views.

NCE data into campaigning, was passed to the process of generating 3D screens needed to work with specialized programs of visualization of terrain and computer graphics 3D in order to give the customer a series of views of 3D from different points of view so I could select one that best comply to your needs.

In the panoramic views of the relief there is always to hand touch the relief, but in the representation of the marine relief this aspect is essential, either by our subjective perception of marine relief or because we have acostumbrdo to the shape of the traditional representation of the seabed, which involves the representation of relief with lighting and soft shadows. I.e., our "idea" of the seabed not supported by abrupt changes in the relief.

This means the entire picture retouching work, so the end result is nice and fits our perception. In this case, the work became even more laborious, because to be actual data starting data:

(a) contained errors of measurement that introduced graphic elements that were unnatural,

(b) contained an excess of information, "noise", that even being accurate with the Royal Marine relief do not conform to the abovementioned: our perception of marine relief.

Napoleon in Egypt

In 1798, the young Bonaparte embarked on the conquest of Egypt, but the perilous adventure ended in failure.

Eager for glory and fame, the young Napoleón Bonaparte sent an expedition to Egypt in which conquered Alexandria and Cairo in 1798, but that ended in failure. In 1798, Napoleon was a skinny and wiry 28-year-old man, devoured by ambition and dreams of glory. Their great victories in Italy had become the idol of the masses and had used it to send without accountability to anyone. Bars, its old guard, told his colleagues in the Government of France: "Promocionad this, or promote himself". The truth is that directory - a five-Member collegiate Government, which governed the country for four years - lacked the prestige that was left to Bonaparte. Corruption, coups and insurrections had marked his career. It would be only". It was then when the idea of the conquest of Egypt. Some members of the directory, such as Talleyrand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, thought that France could establish a colonial rule there. Not only that. Egypt could be the first stage of a more ambitious project: established in India, where Britain, the great enemy of the French Republic, enjoyed a wide zone of influence. Bonaparte accepted the challenge. Like many contemporaries felt attracted by oriental exoticism; I had read a very popular work by then, the trip to Egypt and Syria of Constantin Volney, published in 1794, the best source of information about Egypt. n August 2007 was an infographic of Rome in the I century D.c. for Publisher Random House Mondadori. It used planes containing the position of the buildings of the era and extensive documentation.

The main source of information used was the model in the Museum of Roman civilization (Museum of Roman civilization).

l drawing was done in three weeks on the basis of drawings containing plants of buildings, information from different views of the model of the Museum and 3D models available on the market and rendered in the highest quality.

Once a view is composed full 3D in the area wishing to illustrate proceeded to redraw all the buildings and monuments by hand in photoshop and on paper (traditional method) to obtain the final drawing.

As in all the projects that we carry out in EOSGIS, the first steps in a project consist of pose a model of style that allows the client to tell us the level of detail, style, points of view and shades.

Outlined an area of the city and were a few colors giving a bright atmosphere but in earthy tones.

U

na time decided that the level of detail and the appearance of the buildings were adequate proceeded to draw all the important buildings, stating their names and location, so that customer diese approval to the recreation of historical fidelity.

Then the process consisted in drawing all the houses and other monuments that existed at the time in detail to get the finished drawing that can be seen in detail at the beginning of this article.

Since Hugo de Payns in Jerusalem founded the order of the Templars the year 1120, military orders - original creation of medieval Christendom - became a unique institutions which have aroused the interest of the society over the centuries. They were the only religious orders of the Church that allowed that his professed monks empuñaran weapons and stained them with the blood of the enemies of the Christian faith. The monks became warriors, Knights of Christ to make the Christian rule in the Holy Land and later in the other two borders of the medieval West: the eastern lands of the Empire and the Iberian Peninsula. In this last area, the institutions of monjes-guerreros met as many demonstrations and military activity prolonged until the end of the medieval centuries.

EOSGIS has created for the collectible "Universal history I and II" mapping of J.M. Roberts(Editorial RBA)

OSGIS (36 maps) mapping created for the collectible "Universal history" by J.M. Roberts volumes I and II of the RBA publishing.

The mapping for these two books of the collectible "Great works of culture" was prepared for printing in black and white, an unusual feature today.

The fact that the final maps were published in black and white made necessary the preparation of plots and special symbols that would allow easy reading of maps.

Also included a gray shaded of the relief, which is unusual in this type of work, which had to adjust to the characteristics of two-color printing, so that its presence does not "dirty" maps.

The mapping for this publication was keeping the nomenclature and graphical layout of the main guide, but adding a hypsometric shading of the terrain gives an entertaining visual aspect to Spain of route guidance.

New route guidance with designation of origin
Route guidance with designation of origin is one of the great innovations of the first edition of the Repsol guide 2009. It contains 34 tourist routes around a variety of Spanish food with quality assurance, selected by the Spanish Academy of gastronomy, in collaboration with the autonomous communities and the regulatory boards of designations of origin. It also includes nutritional advice backed by the Spanish Nutrition Foundation. Each route is completed with details of places of artistic, cultural or scenic interest that runs with the support of photographic quality material and explanatory maps.

Master of Egypt and Syria, its efforts to eject the Crusaders of the Holy Land
It culminated, in 1187, with the conquest of Jerusalem. Their struggle with the English King Ricardo
Lionheart made him creditor of great military and tolerant man fame and
compassionate with their enemies.

The holy war that Saladin said the Crusaders in Palestine culminated with the conquest of Jerusalem in 1187. Their struggle with Richard the Lionheart won him fame of great general and Monarch compassionate and tolerant. At the end of the 12th century, some of the larger Christian princes of the time, as the same Richard the Lionheart, King of England and Duke of Normandy, came to Palestine in order to cope with a sultan of Kurdish origin who in a few years had created a vast Islamic Empire throughout the Middle East, and the Christian possessions in the region that had been reduced to a few coastal enclaves. Born in Tikrit, North of the current Iraq, in 1138, in the bosom of a family of Kurdish military, his military career and his personality left a deep mark on his contemporaries, even among his enemies. Saladin abolished the Fatimid caliphate of Egypt in 1171 and during the following ten years undertook a series of campaigns that made him Lord of the Middle East. As sovereign, and to avoid divisions and internal problems, he decided to intensify the policy of religious unity according to the principles of Sunni orthodoxy. He promoted the creation of many madrasas, Quran study centres where Muslim religious and political leaders futures were being prepared to do so. Saladin was defeating the Crusaders in the Holy land to consolidate his power against his internal enemies, who had tried to assassinate him. The war against the Christians would bring together all believers under the leadership of the «sultan of Islam and Muslims", as Saladin was titled from 1184. After conquering numerous cross, such as Acre, Ashkelon and Gaza plazas, Saladin besieged Jerusalem. The city, without troops who could defend it, surrendered in 1187. Richard the Lionheart, despite their initial successes against Saladin, could not fulfill its goal of reconquering Jerusalem, and had to sign an unfavourable peace with the sultan, in which the Crusaders were the domain of the coastal strip between Jaffa and shot, but renouncing the conquest of Jerusalem. Saladin not enjoyed much of his success: died in Damascus just six months after the signing of peace, the 2 March 1193.

EOSGISimages, with a resolution of 50 metres, and 21 models have been needed to create the route of La Vuelta al Spain on its 75th anniversary.

The objects were prepared from a digital terrain models (DTM) in 3D Studio format and had a resolution of 50 to 100 metres in UTM projection.

Map made by EOSGIS towards 1999 Maladeta massif. The data used were obtained by manual scanning, using the developed GENDEM software company.

Later was the relief shading using digital and technical manuals. The mapping was edited with Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator.

With more than 70% of its surface with dimensions above the 1,800 m (ranging between 1,500 m of the funds of Valley and 3,404 Aneto m), are of great interest their modeling glacier forms, such as moraines and the Lakes, as well as important existing karstic phenomena. In addition, it offers a great diversity of flora and fauna of the floors bioclimatic of high mountain, with emergence of endemic species and endangered. Its spectacular geomorphological formations, together with the landscape consisting of agricultural and livestock exploitations of the populations of their surroundings, motivated declared a Natural Park in 1994. The extension of the Park reaches the 33.440 ha, with a periphery of 5.290 protection has, and includes the municipalities of San Juan de Plan, Sahún, Benasque, Gistaín, Montanuy. Within its boundaries are three natural monuments of the glaciers Pyrenees, the massif of the Maladeta Montes Malditos, Perdiguero massif and Posets massif or Llardana.

And Posets Maladeta massifs constitute two of the higher mountainous nuclei in the Pyrenees, finding their summits between the two tallest of all of the Pyrenees, the Aneto (3,404 m) and the Posets (3,375 m). Quaternary glaciers were the main erosion agents that shaped the landscape of the nature park. They sculpted on Granites, limestones and Shales, long colossal cirques, U-shaped valleys and deep trays, currently occupied by hundreds of lakes, name that are known in Aragón to these glacial mountain lakes. When these lakes filter due to filling sediments and by the accumulation of plant remains, arise ("mollars" in the area) peatlands, which are mossy and waterlogged land with a mosaic of Islands, rills of muddy and sandy shores. Currently three glacial cores of reduced dimensions are preserved in the massifs of Posets, Perdiguero and Maladeta, declared natural monuments.
