Weekend Stamping...

Hi Everyone~

Happy Weekend! Hope you are enjoying it. I was able to get some stamping in this weekend - in between a few chores.

I got a chance to play with my Big Shot a bit. I have to tell you - it is always out - I never put it away. I love this die cutting machine. It is easy to use and Stampin' Up! carries a great selection of supplies for it. They even carry exclusive dies and supplies to Stampin' Up! Very cool.

Today I wanted to show you some items I created using the Snowflake #2 original die - #113460 - $15.95 - it is on page #202 of the Current SU Idea Book & Catalog.

This first picture is an ornament I created using the Snowflake #2 die, the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits die - #113495 - $19.95, & the Little Leaves Sizzlit die - #114511 - $4.95. All of these can be found in the current SU Idea Book & Catalog.

I layered 2 snowflakes on top of each other - just remember to offset them a bit so they both show. I held them together with a mini glue dot.

I cut my Little Leaves - I just snipped off the 2 leaves that branched out so that I could layer them on top of the center of the snowflake just the way I wanted them.

I added a little Whisper White ink using a sponge to the bird before attaching it to the center of the snowflake. (Note: I used mini glue dots to adhere all the parts together)

With your Basic Black Stampin' Write marker - make the dot for the Birds eye. There is an impression already there I just like how the black dot shows up better.

I tied a Whisper White taffeta ribbon into a bow and adhered it to the top then attached a white floss string to hang your ornament and you are done!

What do you think? I am going to create a few of these to attach to family and friends Holiday Gifts. It will be a little extra gift for them to hang on their tree! I have written the date on the back - I like having the dates on my ornaments so that each year when we hang them it helps us remember where and when we got them!

What do you think of this idea? Stay tuned to see how I changed it up a bit to create a different ornament and even made one into a card!

Hi Everyone ~

I am so glad it is the weekend! It has been a busy week and I am looking forward to some fun stamping time in the next 2 days. Of course I will have my usually chores to tend to but I think there will be plenty of time left over to create!

Tag you're it...

Hi Everyone ~

I think I have gone tag mad. I have been enjoying myself creating this next Holiday Project - Box full of Tags!

This box was created out of a 9" square of Handsome Hunter card stock. I stamp the card stock after scoring it. The lid was created using the new Snowflake printed window sheet which can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I used a few different stamp sets to create the tags you see in the box.

I hope you enjoyed this project. I am actually giving this box of tags to a friend of mine the week for her birthday. It will be a part of a Birthday Gift basket I am creating! I will show you the basket sometime after her birthday so that she surprised when she gets it. I don't want her to see it here first - that won't be any fun for her!

Adding Shimmer to my Holidays...

Hi Everyone ~

Have you had a chance to use the new Shimmer Paint in the Holiday Mini yet? If not you don't know what you are missing. You can use it in a ton of ways: directly on your stamps, sponge it on your card or image for a softer effect, paint it on a lined image, and so many more ways.

Today I will show you a card I created using the Holy Family stamp set also from the Holiday Mini. I stamped the image on to Shimmery White card stock. Then took a few drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint onto a foam plate and added a drop of Pretty in Pink. I repeated this with a few different color reinkers - Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, etc. until I had all the colors I wanted for my image.

Then using a small paint brush I began to paint my image.

I set my colored image aside to dry for just a minute. Take this time to create your card front. Once the colored image is dry layer it with matching card stock & ribbon then adhere it to the front of your card.

The Shimmer Paint really adds so much shimmer to your card! You will love using it. It really had many uses and you will find yourself reaching for it again and again.

Happy Sweet "16"...

Hi Everyone ~

I hope everyone is enjoying their week. This weekend I needed a card for my daughters friend. Her Sweet 16 was Saturday night and my daughter asked me to make her a card. I have been wanting to create the Scallop dress card everyone has been making but just didn't have a chance to try it. Well I had the opportunity this weekend ~

I create the sash using Taffeta Ribbon and the Silver HodgePodge Hardware (colored with crystal effects and reinkers). I added a little pink netting under the bottom of the dress to make it look more like a party dress.

Different ways to use My Digital Studio...

Hi Everyone ~

The weather this week is absolutely gorgeous. Fall and Spring are my favorite times of the year! I just never seem to get enough of them.

I wanted to show you a card I created in my stamp room - using card stock, my Big Shot, ribbon, & My Digital Studio!

Believe it or not I do not own every stamp set in the SU Idea Book & Catalog. I know, I know it is hard to believe but really who can?

I have always wanted the stamp set Cheap Talk but have not purchased it. Well while playing on My Digital Studio this week I was browsing through all the stamp sets in there (and there are over 60 sets included in the original program) I spotted Cheap Talk. Can I tell you how happy I was to see it!

So I thought hmmmmm - how can I use that stamp set from MDS to create a card in my stamp room - using my supplies.

I opened up an 8-1/2" x 11" photo album and choose to create my own. I really just wanted one blank page to work with. I left it blank and created a little scene from Cheap Talk on it. Adjusted it to the size I wanted for my card and added some color.

Then I thought I have the rest of this page to fill up - so I went through the stamp sets on the program and added to my page.

The photo below is the page I created and printed onto Whisper White card stock on my printer at home.

I just added a few things quick so that I could fill the page and get to creating my Cheap Talk card.

How great is that. I cut the image to size, embossed my card front, layered the image, added some ribbon! I love it.

My Digital Studio can be used in so many ways. It is not just for those who want to scrapbook. You will be amazed at all the different ways you can use it. My daughter has used it for projects in High School this year. It is fun and easy to use. I am finding new ways to use it every day.

Friends 24-7 meets Merry Moments...

Hi Everyone ~

I am sorry I have not posted all last week. My sister was here and between work, chores and visiting I really did not have any computer time. I was able to stamp a little and I have a ton of new creations to share with you this week!

I had a customer come to me for help a few weeks ago. She wanted to make Christmas cards this year but really did not have the budget to order a Christmas set and supplies needed to create enough cards. So we went through the stamp sets and supplies she owned already and got a little creative.

Look at the gorgeous card we were able to create. And she only had to order the Merry Moments DSP!

Accessories: Paper Piercing tool, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon

Ink: Stampin' Write Markers - Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive

NOTE: The Taffeta Ribbon is only used for the knot. That is a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock layered under the beautiful piece of Merry Moments paper!

She was so happy with the card she was able to create.

Ornament punch with a twist...

Hi Everyone,

Happy Spooky Day!

Well my dad has an infection in his blood so he will have to stay at the hospital for a bit longer. Good news is he is not in pain anymore.I wanted to show you a card I created using my favorite new punch - the Ornament Punch introduced in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalog.I have used it as it was intended. I stamped the coordinating stamp set and used the punch to punch it out. You can see those cards in earlier posts.

I even punched it out of colored cardstock - where I purposely cut off the bottom point. This turned the ornament punch into a vase! Loved that look. See earlier post pictures.Now I have punched it out of plain cardstock and used the negative piece (the one with the ornament whole) as a stencil. Using a Stampin' Sponge and Soft Suede Classic ink pad I sponged the ornament onto Very Vanilla card stock.Then inked up the Merry Christmas sentiment for the Holiday Best stamp set (level 1 hostess set) with Stampin' Markers and stamped that in the center of my newly stenciled ornament. Using the Ornament Punch-punch out your stamped, stenciled ornament and use it to embellish a card. Here is the one card I created ~

Homemade gifts ~ another Gift Bag set...

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. My dad is in the hospital. He was in so much pain on Sunday night that my mom called me about 5am Monday morning for help. We were so thankful that after a day of tests they found it was a gallstone. Tuesday he had that removed and Wednesday he has is gallbladder out. He is feeling much better but will be in the hospital until Saturday. I have been taking my mom back and forth to the hospital and with working it has left little time to stamp.

Now that I have a minute I wanted to show you the third Gift Bag card set I made.

Just a note the bags are a retired Stampin' Up! product. I love to decorate them to match the gift I am giving.

I decorated this bag so that my friend could reuse it for the Holidays is she chose to.

I made 2 of each card. Using the Big Shot and the new Stampin' Up! textured impressions folder - Petals-A-Plenty.

The technique I used to create the smooth center where I stamped my sentiment was done by placing a thin wood frame under the impressions folder.

You can see in the photos above the sandwich I have made to create the smooth center.
