I know we all have more fun things to do than maintain the printer. When placed with a decision to clean the printer on a Friday night or go catch a movie no one in their right mind is going to elect to stay late at the office. However, if you have a couple minutes between tasks let me make an argument for the poor neglected printer.

Taking a few minutes to perform some simple maintenance on your printer can help extend the life and preserve the quality of your office workhorse.

Clean the outside of the printer. Most printers get pretty dusty on the outside. This dust can work its way into the inside of the printer and gum up the mechanisms and printer heads. The more dusty and dirty the inside gets the more wear and tear on your printer and the worse your print quality will get. You can unplug the printer and use water or a light cleaner with a sponge to remove the dust.

Get a cleaning kit. Cleaning the inside will go a long way toward extending the life of your printer. Check with the manufacturer or an office supply store for options. These kits often include lubricant for the rods and rollers as well as wipes for cleaning. These wipes are great for getting rid of spills from toner cartridges.

Get your printer serviced. Even if you get a cleaning kit it’s a good idea to hire a professional to service your equipment. A thorough cleaning of your machine can improve the image quality. A professional technician can also help identify worn parts that may break and leave you without a working printer.

Keep the paper clean. Keeping the paper in the original packaging will help avoid placing damaged paper in the printer. Damaged paper can lead to jams and misfeeds. These issues are not only frustrating but they can also lead to damaging the printer when removing the paper.

While it’s not exciting maintaining your printer could lead to far less frustrations down the road. There are few things as annoying as finishing a project or report only to find out that the time sensitive documents can’t be printed.

The HP LaserJet P2055dn is an excellent workhorse of a printer. The HP P2055dn is a monochrome laser printer designed for heavy use, making it ideal for a home office or a small company. The printer is one of the fastest printers available on the market, clocking in with speeds of 35 pages per minute. The HP P2055dn also has superior print quality. Rounding off the printer’s capabilities with a tendency not to jam or malfunction, the HP P2055dn is an excellent printer for a reasonable price.

Print quality can vary greatly between different printers, and can be especially dodgy for monochrome printers. This is primarily because of the lack of colored ink. The HP P2055dn is specifically designed to print word documents, contracts, and other non-presentation office paperwork. It is ideally suited to print out documents that do not have images or graphics. With that in mind, the printer performs excellently for its purpose. When printing graphics and images most photocopy printers that offer and feature photo quality will be far superior.

One of the major advantages of the HP P2055dn printer is that it performs exceptionally well, have few breakdowns related to paper or toner. Remanufactured HP P2055dn toner ink cartridges work well and without difficulty. Our test has shown no noticeable drop in performance or quality. Our remanufactured HP2005dn toner cartridges are able to hold more ink and provided up to 20% more ink and copy capacity than the manufacturers HP P2055sn toner cartridges.

Ink Technologies produces remanufactured HP P2055dn toner cartridges for all uses. Ink Technologies provides remanufactured HP P2055dn toner to keep cartridge price down. The cost of most ink cartridges are so high because if the cartridge headers, which traditionally were part of the printer but are now part of the cartridge. By incorporating the most expensive part of the printer into the ink cartridge, printer and ink companies are able to charge more for their ink products than simply the market value of the ink. Keeping this in mind, Ink Technologies stocks remanufactured ink cartridges and sells them at a fraction of the cost. Ink Technologies is also able to add more ink, providing greater print quantities without affecting quality negatively.

Today is Wednesday again ad we bring another addition to our blog, “Ink in the Water”. Today we will be looking at black ink in the water. In some ways, black ink in the water lacks the clarity of color found with other colors in the water, as seen in last week’s post of “Magenta Ink in Water”. However, Black ink does have a majesty found in water that all other colors lack, especially in the contrast. Black ink gains dimension through the shades of grey and abstract forms. Black ink in water often looks like the famous Rorschach Test, more commonly known as the “ink blot test”.

Rorschach Test:

Black ink also has a distinct difference over other inks in our series, as it is the only naturally occurring ink in water, thanks to octopi. All octopi are able to release a naturally occurring black “ink”. Octopi squirt ink as a defense mechanism when threatened to allow cover to escape potentially dangerous situations.

Octopus ink is vastly different than commercial ink. The first difference is that black toner is a powder, versus the inky substance that octopi squirt. Usually black toner is made from a styrene acrylate copolymer, a polyester resin, a styrene butadiene copolymer, or another specialized polymer. Octopus ink is composed of melanin and mucus. Depending on species, some octopus ink contains tyrosinase, dopamine, and trace quantities of amino acids, including taurine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, alanine and lysine. In layman’s terms, octopus ink is biological formed from naturally occurring chemicals, while printer toner is made from complex manufactured copolymers.

Octopus ink in the water:

We use the highest quality toner for our black ink cartridges. We know that black ink for your printer is as useful and important as black ink is for octopi. That is why we provide a large selection of black ink cartridges for a huge selection of printers, especially considering that black ink is the foundational ink of most printing. In traditional print parlance, black ink is known as “key” and is the last syllable of the famous CMYK. The other letters represent the common ink cartridge colors: cyan, magenta, and yellow.

We supply remanufactured in cartridges at Ink Technologies. Remanufactured ink cartridges is a way to recycle and reuse old cartridges to both lower the cost of ink cartridges, as well as helping effect the environment in a positive way. The primary difference between an original equipment manufacturer, such as HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Dell, Lexmark, etc., is that remanufactured ink cartridges are much more affordable. Ink Technologies can make use of all inkjet cartridges to provide the best equipment, supplies, and services to our clients.

Remanufacturing means to collect used empty printer cartridges, clean, refill, test, repack and resell at a fraction of the cost of new ink cartridges.

The process of remanufacturing ink cartridges has several steps. First remanufactured ink cartridges must be inspected and to ensure that they are to original manufacturers specifications. Often after use some cartridges may become damaged or leak. These cartridges cannot be used for remanufacturing. After a thorough inspection, ink cartridges are cleaned in preparation of being filled with toner. The cleaning is important as inkjet heads often become clogged with dried from disuse when not printing. After the cartridges are inspected and cleaned, we test our products. We want to make sure that all the parts are working together to exceed the expectations of the original manufacturer.

There are many benefits of using remanufactured ink cartridges, from environmental to fiscal savings. Without doubt the greatest immediate impact to our clients is that we are able to offer a full line of remanufactured ink cartridges at a portion of the cost and price compared to the original equipment manufacturers. Buying remanufactured ink cartridges from Ink Technologies can easily save your company up to 70% a refill per cartridge. Secondary benefits include having more ink available in the cartridge. Often manufacturers will leave excessive space within the cartridge unused. This gives the appearance that there is more ink in the cartridge than the consumer might realize. We fill cartridges to the maximum space available to allow for the greatest number of copies per remanufactured ink cartridge sold. Tertiary benefits that don’t readily impact the purchaser are to the environment. We believe that it is important to be as responsible of our environment as possible and are proud to be a green company.

Wednesday’s on Facebook, we share pictures in a series we have named, “Ink in Water”. This week we will be looking at magenta ink in water. Magenta ink cartridges are one of the four basic ink cartridges of an inkjet printer, along with cyan, yellow, and key – which is the industry name for black ink. Magenta ink cartridges are available from our website for a host of printer manufacturers and models, as well as standalone magenta ink cartridges or part of set, depending on your specific company needs.

For the pictures this week, we have chosen a small variety of beautiful magenta ink in water. Magenta truly blossoms in the water, taking on a form of a natural wave of the ocean, or perhaps the delicate beauty of a flower.

The first picture is of a small dropper of magenta ink. You can see the dissolved magenta ink to the left of the picture, as well as the curling splash of the magenta ink as the force of the ejected ink mixes with the water. One of the aspects of ink in the water that we love is the character and tone of the ink as it mixes with water. The different shades of magenta contrast from dark to light as it saturates in the water.

The second picture is our favorite this week. It is a greater amount of ink dropped into water than the previous picture. The higher concentration of ink brings out the richness of the color, which highlights the shape, fold, and texture of the ink. The magenta looks like a submerged rose or perhaps a roiling cloud over a foreign body.

Finally the last picture is that of a cresting wave. Though there is no ink in the water, the picture was shaded to bring out the contrast of the magenta. With the advent of winter and the welcoming of warmer weather, our thoughts are turning to the beach, and we hope to escape there.

We’ll have more pictures up next week, and in the meantime, whenever you run out of ink form printing pictures, remember to buy your magenta ink cartridges from www.inktechnologies.com.

Printer manufacturers have made steady progress over the last decade to provide efficient, reliable, and user friendly machines. One of the nation’s leading printer brands is Canon.

When many consumers think of Canon they think of cameras and video recorders. For many years Canon has been the brand of choice for experts in digital imaging. Canon has worked to enhance the way the world captures life around them through still and video image processing. As a result of their experience and technological advancements in these industries, Canon has helped elevate the standard in the business and home printing markets.

We carry Canon ink cartridges because the popularity of some of their recent models. In particular, the Canon MX870 has been one of America’s favorite printers for the last several years. The built in Wi-Fi, versatile features, and handy LCD display make this printer one of the more flexible and user friendly printers to hit the market. The ease of use and great print quality have helped make this one of the highest selling printers over the last several years.

Since the Canon MX870 release, it has continued to grow in use and popularity, becoming one of the most ubiquitous printers available on the market today. Each month at Ink Technologies we fill hundreds of orders for Canon MX870 Ink Cartridges and ship them all over the country. By virtue of the fact that we ship so much of this Canon ink it is safe to say that these little printers are dependable and reliable. This is a testament of the quality that we have come to expect from Canon. In some independent tests this particular model has beat out printers made by HP, Kodak and other top brands.

The Canon MX870 has proved to be a workhorse in businesses across the nation. As it continues to perform we will continue to provide businesses and consumers a simple way to buy Canon Ink Cartridges online. As a popular model we will continue to keep this ink in stock and provide special savings and coupons to our customers. Sign up for the rewards program and connect with us through email or your favorite social platform to learn more.

We love Better Homes & Gardens and we loved their ideas for Valentine’s Day.

So let’s return to the source with some terrific BH&G ideas for Easter!

The first doubles as one of the most adorable crafts you’ll ever see and a conservation/recycling effort!

Paint a standard lightbulb white and let dry.

Add a face with pink paint, and then more facial features with black and white paint.

Wrap the metal screw top with white yarn to give the sheep a hat, then glue on black pom-poms for the feet and finish with a bow.

Let kids decorate their lambs with other crafty embellishments, such as glitter or paint, if desired.

How ridiculously precious are these things…we can’t even stand it!

They’re similar to the time-tested painting of eggs, but you need that lightbulb shape to wrap the “hat.” So we think you might even be able to use a good, ripe pear here too!

Let us suggest that you and the kids name and sign your lambs in ink on the bottom and keep them safe somewhere.

Pull them out for the next generation, a long time from now. They may not even know what a “lightbulb” is.

We’re actually beginning to realize that the answer to that question might be a resounding “No!”

Take the three minutes to watch this video from Climate Desk, which envisions 3D Printing alleviating any ill effects from climate change, rapidly deploying technology and supplies to soldiers on a battlefield and keeping supply chains up and running in the wake of natural disasters:

We bumped into this story after reading Kristin’s tweet:

I know, I know. I should be excited about this, but something about #3Dprinting creeps me out! bit.ly/YzkU9b

- Kristin Pene (@kristinpene) March 27, 2013

We can’t go so far as to call 3D Printing “creepy”, but we can certainly understand how she and others might feel that way. “Hmm…I need a new (insert whatever), I’ll just go fire up the printer!” That’s a crazy thought, but it’s happening right before our eyes.

We’ll ask it again; Is there anything 3D Printing can’t do? Anything? We looked around our desk here and literally everything on it either can be printed now or has been at least rumored to be possible soon: the phone, office supplies like paper clips and staple removers, pens and pencils, a bottle of Boylan’s Creme Soda, our car keys…there’s nothing on our desk at the moment that couldn’t be replicable with a 3D printer.

Exit Question: Are we headed towards a world where everyone is their own mini-manufacturing plant?

1. Sorting and Grading

All incoming toner cartridge empties are strictly inspected and sorted according to model, color and quality level before delivery to the production line. Only premium empty cartridges are used, to ensure optimal quality.
Incoming Raw Materials Inspection

All toner cartridge components such as drums, toner, blades, PCRs, rollers, etc. are tested against stringent standards before they reach the production floor.

Automated Filling of Toner Powder

Using automated filling equipment, each toner cartridge is precisely filled with toner powder a temperature and humidity-controlled environment to the exact specified weight to provide the best page yields and printer performance.

Cartridge Sealing

Some toner cartridges have the ability to have the toner hopper sealed. Using a high quality sealing process ensures a leak-proof cartridge that is easy for the consumers to install. Many manufacturers cut corners and do not properly seal their cartridges, resulting in powder leakage and allowing air to access the cartridge powder, resulting in poor shelf life.
