It's 2019 now. The same question: how to apply transformations? Specifically, how to apply movements to get rid of translates?

Yes, you can change that by passing an environment variable into the process that starts Inkscape (i.e. start it from the command line). See https://inkscape.org/doc/inkscape-man.html#ENVIRONMENT (INKSCAPE_PROFILE_DIR) .

Maybe you need to fix the file association? Right-click on the file and select 'open with ...' (if that's available on Windows, that is...) and select Inkscape as the program you want to open it with, and check that that's supposed to be the default program for opening svgz files.

I've saved hundreds of artwork before and just last week it started saving them like this Basically if Im in the middle of a project and want to save it and come back to it later, after I save it, it turns it to a PDF file. Before It would save with the INKSCAPE icon and the name I saved it as, I would click on that and it would open back up right where I left off. Now when I save it saves as the PDF I get these pop up windows.

It seems like the posts on here all say that even the PAF version stores config in <$USERNAME>/config. Is there a way to change this, or is it no longer the case?

Yes, that is exactly my problem!

I also tried the import of jpeg images in the beta version of Inkscape 1.0. Unfortunately, the error occurs there as well.

So I should probably wait for an update when the bug will be fixed .....

Yes, probably. Unless you accidentally converted all contents of your drawing to patterns. You can do Object > Pattern > Pattern to objects on a patterned object to convert it back, if that's the case.

If you did File > Clean up document, it would be entirely empty (78500 definitions - i.e. gradients, filters, patterns - would be removed).

Sorry, it's not clear to me what you want yet.

So, what I understand is:

You want to have a text that follows a path, and is centered on that.
Text > Put on path works for you.

It seems you want to have the same text linked to a different line, is that correct?

If that is the case, then:

- Ctrl+C the text
- Paste it
- Text > remove from path
- Text > put on path with the other path

or:

Make a copy of the text before you put it on the path and put only the copies on different paths.

or:

Edit the text attributes to point to the id of the new path in the XML editor.

It doesn't look as if anyone has created a feature yet to link the text to a different path, when the path is copied along with the text.
You can make a feature request for that at https://inkscape.org/report .
