Inspired, in equal measures, by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books, “Morris Lessmore” is a poignant, humorous allegory about the curative powers of story. Using a variety of techniques, including miniatures, computer animation, and 2D animation, award‐winning author and illustrator William Joyce and co‐director Brandon Oldenburg present a hybrid style of animation that harkens back to silent films and MGM Technicolor musicals.

I was so bummed out when I found out that ~~the company was going out of business and that~~ all of those wonderful stores would be closed (U.S. Retail Stores).
Please donate to this project and help to share the memories and further immortalize this sorely missed house of music. They have 44 days to come up with their goal of $50,000. I was going to wait to see this, don't ask me why. I don't think there was any movie currently out other than Rango, that I've been wanting to see. So anyhow, you know how cool alien movies are? Well, Paul is just so much cooler. I didn't know how they were gonna handle this but Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were just hilarious and Seth Rogan does a spot on job as Paul. The writing was just so right on and the alien movie refrences scattered throughout were awesome. Also, Jason Bateman is such a badass in this film. It's definitely one that you will want to see more than once.

Rango Walks the Walk!

Last night I went to the movies with my family to see Rango.
I didn’t really know what to expect. I like most of Johnny Depp’s work and I also love a good western. I think I was worried about it being too cutesy. This was not an issue at all.

Super Meta Supernatural!

I can not wait until Friday! Am I the only one that thinks that this is going to be the best episode of the season? In the world of Supernatural, meta episodes are the funniest (see previous episodes, The Real Ghostbusters and The Monster at the End of This Book). Hilarity ensues when, Azazel, trying to be helpful, zaps Sam and Dean into an alternate reality where they are actually actors, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, playing the characters Sam and Dean Winchester. Oh and Misha Collins plays Castiel/Misha Collins. Ha haaa! This is going to be a long week.

Fan of classic adventure and sci-fi? Today is Jules Verne's Birthday.

The author of numerous works of fiction that have fueled the imagination of people all over the world. I found this a crazy coincidence (today being his birthday) because mine was 2 days ago and I was in a bookstore looking for one of his books! Haha, well there you go. As every Supernatural fan already knows, the CW recently bumped the Winter hiatus return by a week. What's interesting and not at all a surprise is how much of a furor that action has caused across the internet. We Supernatural fans are known to be "rabid" and "extremely loyal". Ollin - Rockin' Set 2

The Metropolitan on Friday September 3rd, hosted a great show. The Metropolitan Bar & Grill has that L.A. Latino vibe that's so in right now. Cozy and neat, smallish, great for bands. It started filling up around 10ish. The headliner was Ollin, who I hadn't seen in a while. I was looking forward to some good music. They were to play two sets and had a new opening band.

A couple of days ago, I was discussing the increase of e-book sales over traditional books with @michaelpinto and @vooktv on Twitter. The conversation started over this Tweet:

While I do love traditional hardcover books, in the spirit of embracing the new and allowing room for all viewpoints, I am reviewing the design of Vook's iPad and iPhone reader app (can also be used on a traditional PC browser).
