We got to go to a Tim Holtz class (wahoooo!). It was a ball! We learned a bunch of new techniques and had a great time. If you ever get a chance to do one of his classes I highly recommend it. He has a wonderful teaching style, very informative but also very entertaining at the same time.

To create the cloudy background on my card I started with white cardstock and swirled and smudged Ranger Distress Faded Jeans ink until I got the look I wanted. The bushes were made using the Outdoor Master Kittie Kit. The doghouse, bone sign and dog were colored with Copic markers, cut out and ten layered onto the background.

Here’s my card for today. I used ribbon to create my background. Pictures below show how I did it.

Cut ribbon so that it’s bigger than your cardstock and adhere it to the background. I used an ATG tape gun, but you could also use Red sticky tape or double stick tape. This is a great way to use up ribbon scraps. It would be fun to have every stripe a different ribbon.

Trim off excess with scissors.
