Ricardo Basbaum
Es artista, escritor, crítico y curador. Investiga las relaciones sociales e interpersonales, y en este contexto ha desarrollado un enfoque comunicativo para estimular la circulación de las acciones y de las formas. Trabaja con diagramas, dibujos, textos e instalaciones que crean dispositivos interactivos en los que la experiencia personal e individual de los participantes, y de los observadores, tiene un papel destacado. Es profesor del Instituto de Artes de la Universidad del Estado de Río de Janeiro y de la Facultad de Santa Marcelina en São Paulo. Es autor del libro Más allá de la pureza visual.

Franco Berardi (Bifo)
Es escritor y teórico y activista de los medios de comunicación. Fundó la revista A/Traverso (1975-1981) y formó parte del equipo de Radio Alice, la primera emisora de radio pirata en Italia (1976-1978). Como otros intelectuales involucrados en el movimiento político Autonomía en Italia, durante los años setenta huyó a París, donde trabajó con Félix Guattari en el campo del esquizoanálisis. Su último libro, Soul@Work, ser publicado por Semiotext(e) a finales de este año.

Es doctor en Arquitectura por la Universidad de Sevilla y profesor del Departamento de Historia, Teoría y Composición Arquitectónicas de esta universidad. Junto a Pablo de Soto y Sergio Moreno forma parte, desde 2001, de hackitectura.net, un equipo de arquitectos, programadores y activistas que explora las relaciones entre espacios tradicionales, flujos electrónicos y movimientos sociales, desde la perspectiva del software libre y la cultura hacker.

Suely Rolnik
Es psicoanalista, investigadora y comisaria de exposiciones. Es docente titular de Psicología Clínica en la Universidad Católica de São Paulo, donde coordina el Núcleo de Estudios Transdisciplinares de la Subjetividad. Entre 1970 y 1979 se exilió en París, donde se diplomó en Sociología, Filosofía y Psicología. Su investigación aborda las políticas de subjetivación desde una perspectiva transdisciplinar, y en los últimos años se ha centrado en los puntos de contacto del arte contemporáneo con la política y la clínica. Su trabajo público se dedica a la invención de dispositivos de activación de la potencia poético-política, cuyas formas dependen de las problemáticas singulares de los medios en los que se insertan. En ese marco ha creado un proyecto de construcción de memoria sensible de la obra de Lygia Clark y su contexto, recogido en un archivo de 53 DVD de entrevistas. En castellano ha publicado Micropolítica. Cartografías del deseo, con Félix Guattari.

blown up ! is an eventwork, mapping an investigation at once philosophical, cinematic and relational. In a manner similar to Antonioni’s film Blow-Up which follows a photographer’s quest to locate a body in a London park from a blow-up of a snapshot he has taken, Silvia Maglioni & Graeme Thomson explored 1970s video footage of Gilles Deleuze’s courses at the University of Vincennes to locate participants in the seminar who then became collaborators in their film, Facs of Life. But blown up ! equally derives from an explosion, recomposing scattered shards of a political moment, a research process, a corpus of images, voices and concepts, within the framework of “a temporary autonomous classroom” that exhorts us to “make rhizomes, not roots, never plant ! Don’t sow grow offshoots ! Don’t be one or multiple, be multiplicities. Run lines, never plot a point !”

blown up ! is an eventwork turning around two axes : 1. the exhibition/redistribution of elements of the film Facs of Life, a cinematic quest to find students of Deleuze at Vincennes and to uncover traces of the experience in their life practices. 2. the installation/construction of a space for experimental pedagogy, a temporary autonomous classroom for creative questioning of the organization, temporalities and aims of formal education. Between four intense moments of multiple interdisciplinary encounters (Nov. 29, Dec. 5, 11,13) the space will remain ‘open’ for whoever (teachers, researchers, artists) wishes to use it by displacing and exhibiting their activities, courses or ongoing projects to Mains d’Oeuvres, leaving a trace, tracing a trajectory of work or research on its potential blackboard.
