Two years.

Two years since I started this and forgot.

I was browsing on my computer tonight and came across blogger and wondered if my blog was on here. To my surprise, it still is.

Odd to think of how in the world did I forget about this.

But looking back many things have happened, so many. Two years gone in a blink of an eye.

Hopefully in the morning I will remember to be on here more and to not forget again.

Summer Heat

There is nothing better than a perfect day.

A day where everything goes your way.

I know it seems impossible, but they do exist.

In the beginning they seem just like any other day. It starts with the basic schedule of things to do and people to see. Rush, rush, rush.

As you go on though, things slowly come together. That check you've been waiting for comes in the mail. The weather is perfect. You have the day off.

It isn't until the end that you realize how great of a day you've had.

As you prepare for bed there is a sense of serenity.

Perfect days are never wasted.

I am judged.

I am judged by the way I speak.

I am judged by the way I dress.

I am judged by everything.

When people see me and the way I act,
people assume I am not the brightest crayon in the box.

As we all know though
if you assume you only make an ass out of you and me

I only put on the persona of a simpleton to blend in.
No one likes a know-it-all and so I avoid looking like one.

Peer pressure has driven me to this and also my social standing as a below middle-class citizen.

People tell me to seek funding and grants from the local college so that I can make something of myself.
Well guess what? I can't.
I am consistently beaten to the punch or I'm not qualified.

Just because I'm not up to your "high" expectations don't think you're better than me.

I'm sorry that I haven't had everything handed to me.
Sorry that I can't find a job even though I look.

Don't tell how hard you had to work to get where you are today,

because honestly you haven't.

When you have had nothing but constant rejection, no help,
and still haven't advanced anywhere,
then you have had it hard.

Constantly working towards nowhere.
That is truly hard. It's my life.

Don't ever judge a book by it's cover.

It Happened?

Apparently Harold Camping was wrong.

Everyone I know is still here.
Unless I just to happen to know the wrong people.

As it is clearly written in the gospel
"No man knows the hour or the day' that Jesus will come. The main thing is to be ready to meet Him"

Silly man, Harold Camping.
He goes against the very book he upholds.

And I'm the one who has apparently read a bit further than him.

So when is the next "Rapture" forecasted Haraldo?

I doubt it.

If it does happen though, I'll probably be left behind.

Simple Value - Truth

Truth

The original story with no feelings or opinions added.

Simple facts.

But these things are so hard to get from a person. To get an absolute truth from somebody is near impossible.
A persons' mind is clouded by their own thoughts and judgements.
In the process of something being retold facts are lost or hidden.
There is always somebody to protect or some embarrassing moment that needs hiding.
And all this obscures the truth from being seen.

Always value truth,
even if it isn't the whole truth
because that is all you ever will get from somebody.

Evolution

I am a believer of evolution.

I have no religious beliefs.

Yet when I say that to others, I am condemned or "prayed for".

Why is that so?

I have no problem with others and their religiosity.
I do support the idea of which most religions support and that is good towards all men and the betterment of ones-self. But why is it so bad that I do not believe in a god or gods? Can't one go and do as they feel so without the guidance of some religious power?

So as far as my understanding is, your philosophy is your behavior, your behavior is your philosophy.

Step Away From The Foot

The goverment is the head with us, the civilians, as the body.

Well the head is trying to eat the foot to sustain itself.

Tired of the same?

Repeating day after day routines will get to the point of being so monotonous it will cause you to loose track of time and possibly go insane.

Change it.

Find something new to explore. Whether it be trying an art project or simply going to some place new.

If you go somewhere, take your time. Absorb your surroundings.

Listen.

Smell.

Taste.

See, not look.

Experiencing something different will change how you feel, act and think.

Take time to do something different and it will break the loop.

Its a sense of accomplishment the instant your eyes are open
and all you can think is
This going to be a good day.
Hold on to that positive attitude and don't let go.
Because the moment you do it will all start to go down hill.
And in turn, a good morning turns in to a bad day.

Real Love

The first time that I have ever felt true love,
real actual love,
was when I first held my niece.

She looked at me and found comfort.
She was lulled asleep to the sound of my voice.
She felt completely secure within my arms and it was then
that I knew that I was in love for the first time.
Within that moment I knew I would sacrifice myself for her safety
and all I wanted was for her to have a good life, and not feel the pains that I have felt.

It was an overwhelming emotion.

I could feel flutters from within my chest. An instant connection.

All this from an infant who hasn't even said a word, taken a step, or even gone past a year of life yet.

How is that possible? Within a moment, what I believed to be love was completely changed. Not by words, but through simple contact with another. Just holding her for the first time I felt renewed.

When you find love. You will know when its real. It will hit you like a wall. And you will be struck dumbfounded by it.

Enjoy it. Its Real Love.

Words In My Mouth

Have you ever had someone put "words in your mouth"?
Words that you have never said.
Words that were hurtful.
Untruthful, unnecessary, useless words.
Well I have, and on more than one occasion.

Why, or the better question, how can people take something that you have said turn it around and upon repeating it to another person completely misrepresent what you have said?
How hard is it to repeat a comment to another with out adding your own little cinicism on it? I have people coming to me asking me why I have said this or that when I have never in my life uttered such things.

I have one thing that to say to them time and time again.
First calm down and talk rationally with me before you accuse. Let me hear what you have heard and then I will tell you the truth and tell you word for word what I have said. Simple has that.

I have nothing to hide. I always tell the truth. If I didn't want anyone to know about it I would have never spoken with anyone about what ever I was thinking.

The best way to keep a secret is to never tell anyone. Makes sense, doesn't it?

To all you out there who like to "keep it real" and confront everyone
who is apparently "talking about you (or someone you know),"
just take a second to find the truth instead of burning bridges.
