So, only hours to go before the iPad2 hit the market. Are you ready? I know, I am!

What is so exciting about the iPad2 anyway? There are so many tablets out there in the market now. What makes the iPads so different? It’s an Apple product; that’s the difference. Apple has been making the iPads for a few years now and they’ve become really good at it. Of course, we have to give credits to the apps too. Apple really put some thought into it before releasing the first version of the iPad. Take a look at the number apps they have made available. Others have a lot of catching up to do!

What are the customers looking for in the new version of the iPad? It’s thinner, lighter, faster, and it has front and rear-facing cameras for Face-Time video chat. I love the Face-Time calls on iPhone4. Can’t wait to see how the Face-Time chat works on the iPad.

It also comes with an HDMI port making it possible to connect your iPad to the HD TV and enjoy those HD games in 1080P. Angry Birds anybody?

One downside seems to be that the iPad 2 has no upgrade in RAM from the original iPad, it still has 256 MB while other tablets like the HP Touchpad and Motorola Xoom have 1 GB.

The iPad2 will be available from $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model to $829 for the 64GB Wi-Fi + 3G model. It comes in black or white, compatible with Verizon and AT&T networks. Are you ready to get your hands on one of them?

Apple is cutting price on iPhone and MacBook

The long debated price reduction for iPhone is finally here. Apple has announced a reduction in price for Iphone and MacBook today. iPhone prices are reduced by half and the MacBook prices are reduced by $300. 8GB iPhone will only cost $99 after the price cut and the 16GB version will cost $199. A 13 inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,200 and 15 inch at $1,700 after the $300 price cut. MacBook Air will be priced at $1,500.

Another good news to the iPhone fans is the introduction of two new models of the iPhone called 3G S. The new model comes with a faster processor, a video camera, an improved photo camera and an internal compass. A 16GB version will cost $199 and 32 GB will cost $299. The new models are expected to be available by Jun 19th.

What more do you want? Oh, how about an upgrade to the iPhone software? Yes, the 3.0 software update will be available for download from Jun 17th.

Dell and Della

It seems like Dell has come up with a very innovative strategy to market their netbooks and laptops. They recently introduced a range of products aimed at enticing ladies who prefer “style” even for laptops.

Check out the Della website. If you are a lady who likes Dell products and loves fashion, then this is the site for you.

The new range of products comes in many pretty colors that are quite attractive.

A host of accessories like laptop cases, laptop sleeves and handbags to fit laptops also accompany the netbooks and laptops.

This move by Dell has generated a lot of comments especially from women, some of which are quite critical. However, if one looks from a non tech savvy, casual user’s point of view, the products are very appealing. I find it so hard to imagine how such a move could have offended so many women.

There are a lot of women out there who are not technologically inclined and would love to own a stylish product such as this. And Dell says that the rate of purchase has been higher than what they expected.

Having said that, however, Dell has been paying close attention to all the comments and feedback and they are making quick changes to the Della website. They have made the tech tips section more technical and plan to incorporate more business-oriented products and information.

So ladies, loosen your purse strings and get ready to shop for style!

AT&T to offer cheap Laptop Computers

How does $50 Laptop sound to you? I know what you are thinking. “What’s the catch?” Well, there is a catch, indeed. You have to subscribe to AT&T’s data plan. The offer is for a Netbook (small-sized, low-cost, light weight, lean function notebooks optimized for Internet access and core computing functions). Netbooks are priced in the range of $300-$500. Size-wise, they typically have 9 or 10 inch screens, weigh from 2 to 3 pounds, and sport keyboards sized from 80 percent to 95 percent of normal. These lightweight machines with the power of 3G data network could become very popular in the market. The rollout is expected to start in Atlanta and Philadelphia.

Apple to announce new iPhones in 2009?

It’s a rumor. But it’s about iPhone. So, I want to share it.

Apple might release up to 3 new iPhones in 2009. First one is a memory upgrade to 32 GB. Next one is a 2.5 G model for Asian market. And a third one will be an iPhone nano with one third of the size of the current 3G iPhone at a cheaper price.

Honestly, I am not very excited about either one of them. I have an 8GB iPhone 3G which I bought last year and I am very happy with it. I have a lot of photos, music and applications on it. I still have enough free space. But, that’s just me. I am sure the 32 GB will have its fair market share. iPhone nano doesn’t sound exhilarating either because I like my iPhone screen size just the way it is. It’s not bulky enough for me to look for a smaller version.

I have also heard another rumor which I am really excited about. iPhone might be introducing an HD version in 2009. The world is moving relentlessly towards HD and Apple will keep pace with it. Experts say that the current 3G version can handle HD signal. However, we need to hear it officially from Apple. So, let’s wait and see.

Litmus has released Alkaline 1.0 for Mac OS X. It’s a cross-browser testing tool for web designers and developers, letting them test their website designs on 17 different Windows browsers right from their Mac desktop in seconds.

According to the folks at Litmus, since Alkaline uses a vast remote grid of Windows computers to gather website screen shots, no installation of Windows is required, nor is any other additional software.

Using Alkaline in combination with Coda and Textmate plug-ins gives the best possible testing experience. It allows for instant cross-browser webs site testing from right inside these coding tools.

Alkaline was developed for Litmus by Shiny Development. It’s available with Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) or higher.

Alkaline 1.0 is free of charge to test web site designs in two browsers (Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0 on Windows). To access all 17 available web browsers the user can either purchase a 24 hour pass for US$24 or a monthly subscription for $49 per month.
