My Experience Placing A Facebook Ad on a Shoestring Budget

2015-01-12T11:00:00.000-05:00

December 7, 2014:

** Image taken from Google Images**

Helloooo La La La

Did you click the link? Click the "Hellooo La La La" for a quick chuckle.

Anywhoo...New England Patriots play the San Diego Chargers today. Go Pats!

I got an email recently to join the Facebook Ads Academy . Joining it will get you up to speed on the benefits of running an Facebook Ad campaign. I, instead, learned what I could for free and then ventured out on my own. I ran two campaigns :

Inqronicles: The Facebook page - obtaining more "Likes"
The IE Shoppe - a Tee shirt shop. A place to raise funds for the site.I was looking to get people to the site itself.

In the past, I would target EVERYONE, check the results in 7 days, and then narrow my target to the people who responded. When I first did it I was paying $2 a day. This round , I did $5 a day (Damn). I actually started the campaign for Inqronicles yesterday. On top of that, I sent 15 "invites" out to friends, and used my email list to promote the page , as well ( to join the list , put in YOUR information on the left of this post.Over there where it says "Join the Empire").

Placing an ad on Facebook is exciting and suspenseful. Once you fix up your ad and pick your targeted audience, you must wait for an approval from Facebook. That's the suspense.

Once approved, you'll start to see some action! Here's where it gets exciting! You'll see how much of your daily budget has been spent. You'll see how much of a reach, or who saw your ad, you're getting. You'll be able to do reports after a day, or so, to see the age, gender and other categories (or filters) of who's seeing your ad.

I begin designing shirts on this day, as well. I started with an organization I founded back in the 90's called the Undadog Family (UdF).I designed a logo for the group, back then, and for some reason they want the shirts again. Here they are:

Freddie Flames

Myself

A Twitter fan

I ran a 7 day crowd-funding campaign for the tees.Posted a link in the UDF Group ( on Facebook), promoted to individuals in the group, and contacted people who did reserves in my past crowd-funding campaigns. This got me to open up a Tee Shirt shop to sell the tees. I also design two more shirts, so that I could open the online store.I wanted to run Facebook ads so I also created a Facebook page, for the shop, to do that.

From these ads today:

I gained 6 likes for Inqronicles: Facebook page. (2) were from the Facebook ad, (4) from invites I sent
I gained 3 orders from 2 people for UDF Tees

Not bad results. As a matter of fact, some of you are people who responded to the ad.

I thank you. I appreciate you.

If you want to get the word out, if you are trying to get traffic to your site or are selling a product, go with Facebook ads. They are cost effective and very efficient.

My next foray into advertising will be with Google AdWords. I've always been a little intimidated with doing that, but Facebook ads took a little bit of the "edge off".

Have you ever created a Facebook ad? Comment below and let me hear your story!

Until next week...

2014 Wrapped up...Breaking out 2015's Blueprint

2015-01-03T12:00:00.000-05:00

**Image snatched from Google Images**

Yayeee Yayee!

It's a new year...ready make progress? I am! In order to make progress, though, we must look at our foundation. What have we done thus far? Everyone seems to be doing end of the year wrap ups.

So I'm doing one. Most people do it at the end of the year but not I.

Let's begin.

2014 :

Started the year living in California until July. I relocated to Florida with my "9 to 5"
Started a website UndaDogHipHop.com. A site to showcase all 4 elements of Hip Hop culture. It's currently shut down, for "retooling".
Interviewed DMC from RunDMC.
Interviewed various artists for UDHH from the West Coast to the East Coast.
Started UDH2TV. A network that coincided with UDHH.com
Restarted this blog using the Blogger platform in November.
Had InkyMann.com to showcase this blog, using the WordPress platform. It has sent been shut down.
Met AJ in January. She's been my "HomieLoverFriend" ever since May. We put out a pretty popular video here.
Started a weekly newsletter and changed it about 3 times. To receive it, give me your information on the left of this page. Your name, email...you know.
Ran a tee shirt campaign twice.Made a little money the second time around.Did better the second time because I promoted it daily..even ran Facebook ads.
Fooled around a little bit with FanDuel...Thanks Ian Ritchie for putting me on to that!
Lost in ALL my Fantasy Football ( Damn Playoffs!) I'll be paying better attention to that next year.
I actually was in the process of starting a men's magazine. Getting models was a headache, though!
I tried outsourcing some work for the first time.
Started Weigh In Wednesday to fulfill my goal if getting down to 200lbs

Okaaaay...

So my plans for 2015:

Reintroduce UndaDogHipHop.com.More interviews and more features, like UDH2TV
Get down to 200lbs
More outsourcing
A Podcast
More designs on Tee Shirts for sale ( Looking for artists!)
The UDF Reunion in February
Creating a team to help me along
Developing a Mastermind Group that I can bounce ideas off of. Want to join?
More Inqronicles videos and blog posts
Heavier Promotion, Advertising and Marketing for my products and brand.
An Amazon store

I think I'll stop there.I'm sure more will come.I'm sure once I can put down Candy Crush Soda and Underworld Empire, I'll probably get more ideas and things done.

See you next week..

How to Motivate The Prince of Procrastination

2014-12-27T12:00:00.000-05:00

December 5:

I woke up to this today...I love this brother! Him and John Chow get me hyped!!

I plan on letting these guys know I share these videos..one day...You know me by now...

Anyway, my daily routine consists of waking up around 2 1/2 hours before work and:

Stretching
Doing 2 sets of Push ups, Crunches and leg lifts/Bicycle kicks/reverse crunches
A shower
Breakfast, while making lunch
Checking all emails from my different accounts
Watching a John Chow video or Dame Dash/Hip Hop Motivation video
Getting dressed
Walking to work

As I walk to work, I think of what's in store me for there.I also think of ways to progress in the businesses I'm developing. I'm not even thinking about the 3 miles I'm walking.

This routine has actually gotten me to WANT to get things done.I envision my self doing better. I look at cars I'll purchase.Homes I want to purchase.Areas to live.

Sometimes I realize that when I'm sitting in the War Room (my room/office at home), just sitting there trying to think of things can be stifling. If I get out of that zone, ideas flow freely. When I do housework, after being reminded of doing it over and over as us fellas do, I start to think of things I can do to further my endeavors.More products. More ways to tackle current issues.

With Dame and John, I get to hear/see another perspective.I get to see what worked for them and why. It's better to find someone doing better than you at what you are trying to do, so you can be challenged. In a way, these guys are in my Mastermind Group.

I also like to watch Shark Tank! Whoa!! Now , THAT'S TELEVISION! I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!!

I like how these ordinary, everyday entrepreneur folks present ideas to the Millionaire/Billionaire"sharks" and the "sharks" breakdown the prospects business ideas. The sharks come off as people that know everything about any business. that's where I'd like to be. A Know-It-All in business. I know about various structures of business ( i.e. Sole Proprietor, C Corporations, S Corporations, LLCs), but not about various industries.

It's obvious they/ their teams have done their research. ( I need a team)

I see being a TRUE entrepreneur you have to be this way. You must know all there is to know about what you want to do.No half stepping.

Anyway, my point is a morning routine, Dame Dash, John Chow, and Shark Tank, are what motivate me.

What motivates you? Tell me here.Email me at the address in my signature.

I'd love to hear from you!

Also, I read an article today about Social Media tools. Tools that can show you how many views you have, schedule posts, and a bunch of other things. If you're interested in the article go here.

Until then

** taken from Google images**

I hope you're ready to do 2015! I've already started.

Next week we'll talk about what those things are in comparison to what I've done this year..

The Emperor Tweets or Twitter Is Great Thing in The World

2014-12-20T12:00:00.000-05:00

December 4:

**image taken from Google Images

Hey Hey!!

Ya know…Twitter is one of the GREATEST platforms for me when it comes to getting the word out!

I have two Twitter accounts:

The first account, to get the word out on a personal level and the other to get my Hip Hop blog word out. The beauty of it all is that you can grab content, potential readers, interviews, almost anything you want from this platform!

I learned this from a guy I knew who himself was publishing a Hip Hop online magazine. His magazine put a spotlight on Hip Hop, pit bulls and models. What blew me away was he had potential models hitting his Twitter page hard for an opportunity to be in the magazine!

Tons of them!

Since I've done that for the UndaDog Hip Hop site, I get all sorts of MCs, Producers and Hip Hop fans tweeting me. From all over the world! Some just saying hello, some showing me music. I posted a Tweet to get music videos for an internet channel I was developing and, even though it took a little bit, I get videos, now.

Tons of them!

I use Twitter HEAVY when it comes to promoting ANY of my products. I get an average of 5 new followers a day between the two accounts.

I once landed an interview with DMC , of the group Run DMC, for my Hip Hop blog!!

I'd avise it for anyone attempting to build a brand or just get the word out.

As a matter of fact, using the hashtags are what really get the eyeballs. There's always someone looking for WHATEVER your hashtag is !! Try it and see.

There are 3 tools that you can use with Twitter to get some effective exposure. They are:

I use Buffer on Sundays to schedule posts for the week.I have a free account so I can usually only get (9) posts in.I have the app on my phone so I can add stuff on the go.I can even "rebuffer", or replay the posts that I want.I use the analytics, that they provide, to gauge what works or not.

I use TweetDeck for the same, but I REALLY use it to get up to the minute information. This is helpful for Undadog Hip Hop. I'm friends with underground and mainstream artists and they LOVE engaging with their followers! I'll share info, music, videos, Instagram photos, anything that my audience will like. I figure people that are following me on this medium don't always have access to what I have access to, so I share. I also use this as an opportunity to let the original"sharer" know that I'm doing this. they do the same for me.It helps us build our brands simultaneously!

Note: I don't work for either of these companies, so I'm not getting paid to refer them.I just want you to know what tools I use to help with the Empire building.

They may not be what you want. You might know of better tools.Either way, email me and let me know.

Follow me on Twitter @inkymann or @UndaDogHipHop...

Inqronicles: The Facebook Page

Today, I set the page up, so I can take advantage of "likes" and just the FB platform as a whole. With Facebook, I can take advantage of Facebook ads aimed at a variety of demographics. This will require some A/B testing.

I'm excited about that!

I'll also have to factor in consistent advertising as John Chow said here. Make it a BIG part of my business budget.

I , like you, have once thought that once I put it online, everyone will see it.Well, they won't if they don't know it exists.

Right?

Speaking of which, I'm doing some crowdfunding for the Inkland Empire. We're selling tee shirts. Many more to come.Go here and support TODAY!

See ya next week..

Make sure you stop by here.Get in on the action!

How Dare You Tell ME What To Do!!

2014-12-13T12:00:00.000-05:00

December 3:

So... I was approached with ANOTHER MLM type situation dealing with Travel!

I'm thinking about doing it. If for nothing else, to at least learn some internet marketing.

An old buddy of mine, who I'll call "D", came to me about it...after a week of Cat and Mouse and Phone Tag. We spoke tonight and he had me watch a video. The video had its “how you make money with the system " breakdown...testimonials of people who made money...you know, the usual. Then, I spoke with him a little bit. He pitched how he wanted a team to get this going, stroked my ego a little bit...then came the whammy...a three way (pause) conference call with HIS mentor.

This is where it got interesting. He said the same things that were in the videos and what the goal was. Very convincing. The words that got my ears perking up were, " If you sign up today..."

Wow!

But...

THAT's the key to marketing a product!

“Join today!”” Get in on the ground floor!”” You don't want to miss out!”

I definitely couldn't be mad at how he presented it. I KNEW what he was doing. Although, he apologized for delivering this way, I told him not to apologize (in the back of my mind I was learning how to MARKET!!)

As potential customers we get sensitive, even offended, when we are approached this way.

Not I.

I knew what he was doing AND learned a valuable lesson in it. The question is, now, will I do it?

I got my own stuff going on in life.I'm tryingt o spend money on gifts...I got bills to pay... I want to get started in January!

Yet..

This is the Christmas season. This IS a time for people to travel. This IS a time for people to spend money.

As a matter of fact, just yesterday I got an email from John Chow on that very thing:

I'm a BIG follower of him. I watch his videos EVERYDAY to motivate my self to do this.Around (5:45) in the video he starts to talk about preparing now to make money online and NOT at the beginning of the year. What I took from that was STOP setting a date to start something.Do it NOW.

So, when talking to the Mentor, that was the angle he tapped. I should get in this now so that when it gets large, I'll be among those who got in at the beginning of the opportunity.I threw in how I had bills to pay, shopping to do and he still kept that angle going.

NIIIIICE!

Time will tell..I do want to do it but I got some money invested in another project, besides this one. Wanna see? Go here and then go here. Make sure to pick up one for yourself!

I'll keep you posted on what happens with the travel venture. You can bet , though, if/when I do it..YOU WILL KNOW!

My FanDuel

Nothing.I took a week off.I have fantasy football leagues that have money in them.I needed to fine tune a couple of them to make sure I get something from them.

Thank You!!

Thanks for the support.I see my views are increasing and my Facebook ads are working! I finally invested in a small campaign to get the ball rolling. I've been gaining "likes" at the Facebook page . The next plan is to fine tune my audience, so that I can fine tune my ads to be more effective. I'd rather have loyal followers/ readers than just a bunch of "likes".

I want a community. I want more Inkyatix. I also have a newsletter that's been going out. this, too, has helped. Go to the Facebook page and join. There's a tab that says " Email signup" on the left of the page. click the image and put in your information.

I'd love to have you in the community!

I plan on getting back to my videos, too..as well as, a live talk with some of you...just because.

Do We REALLY Want Freedom?

2014-12-06T09:00:00.000-05:00

December 2, 2014:

I googled "freedom" in the Images of Google and wanted to share this..

I'm just gonna ramble a lil' bit...

I'm a hiring manager at my current 9 to 5. I hire people to do a job that pays $9/hour plus commission. I see ALL types of people applying for the job and it blows me away.

I met 3 people who were my elders, so to speak, looking for work today. A true sign of the times. What blew me away about them were they were all "overqualified", as far as I was concerned. I try to be practical and reasonable when making this call. I, of course, would NEVER tell a person this because it can be misconstrued.

Anyway, on this day, these people acted as a wake up call ( they, of course, didn't know this):

First was a man who sold over One Million dollars in real estate. He told me he was “a hippie” who had fruit trees and acres of land at the moment. He loved life, traveled all over the world, seen it all…When asked why he wanted to do join OUR team, he told me I’m looking for work.\

Second was a woman who has owned two car lots. She said she sold them before the “crash” in recent years. She has a business that more than pays her bills and a career teaching online at the hours she chooses. She uses the money from her business and the teaching to put money in her 401(K)!! When asked why SHE wanted to do join OUR team, she told me I’m looking for work, so that I can have something to do (she does the “school thing” in the evenings).

Lastly, I met a man who told me about a few CEOs and CFOs of major corporations that he knew. I won’t name them, of course, but they were some BIG named companies, at least locally. When ideas, complaints or anything of value was put on their desk, he had the same info given to him at his desk. According to him, he handled all their complaints. He was a Research Analyst. He traveled the world, made 6 figures, blah, blah, blah (this is how it sounded to me at the time because he was my 6^th interview of the day and everyone will, of course, tell you the GREAT things about themselves). I didn't think he was lying, but at this point I was listening halfway… When asked why HE wanted to do join OUR team, he told me life is more precious than money. Family is better than money. He’s building up his family through events, trips, etc. because people are becoming disenfranchised.

Now to my point. If all three of these people are telling me the truth, why is it that they are NOT taking advantage of the freedoms that they have? Why do they feel they MUST work?

If I had a few thousand on hand, just a FEW thousand on hand, I’d solidify my plans of Financial Freedom with investments (like Person #2), live (like Person #1) and have a thought process (like person #3)…why don’t THEY, though?

This is something that boggled my mind....and has for years when I really think about it.

If YOU had, say, One Million dollars…and I want you to REALLY think about this…what WOULD YOU spend it on? I’ll tell you now, that would ULTIMATELY determine what your mindset is.

My Amazon Store

Besides what I've talked about in this post, I haven't done anything with my store at all.I've been having other opportunities coming at me. I'll be talking about these in the posts to come. I'd love to hear what YOU do , if you have a store.

Selling Through Amazon: What Should I Sell?

2014-11-29T15:00:00.000-05:00

Welcome Folks!

So, as promised, I'm gonna talk a little bit about Amazon Selling. I've had an Amazon store for quite some time now, but haven't done a thing with it.

Just research.

I've bought items for the store and never put them in
I've read blogs and articles about it
I've considered buying books to learn more
I've watched YouTube videos about the subject :

Some "experts" say groceries are good to make money on Amazon.I went on that notion...until this video from Picking Profits:

Okay...

Then I wanted to make sure I got both sides of the coin.I looked up the other side and found Dollar Moves:

This got me PUMPED!!

I went a step further and looked into items to start with. That's when I bumped into Suzanne Wells.
Apparently, she also deals with eBay selling, which I've already done. I'm into Amazon, now, though.

She had this to say :

Hmm...sounds a little doable. I wouldn't sell the EXACT same products, I'm sure many people saw this video and did just that.

Sorry for all the videos.

I figured you'd want to know what I've been dealing with, though. I , personally, get emails for the Amazon Selling Machine, all the time. Although it seems to be touted as a good program, I'm looking at ways to get information without joining some type of club/membership.This is how I'm doing it. Looking up videos that give some basics and seeing how it works.I'll come up with my own program. Not to put anyone down.

This is just how I wanna do it.

This is part of the retail arm of the Inkland Empire being built. Like I said, I've done eBay before and it was okay. Nothing bad to say about them.I'm seeing, though, that Amazon is the way to go, OVER eBay, at the moment.

I WANT IN!

On to other news..

My FanDuel Update :

11/25 - Won $3.60 + FanDuel bonus of $.76 = $4.36
11/27 - Invested in 3 One Day matches =3.00
11/28 - Lost all matches.Gained $.12 FanDuel Bonus = $.12
Check my last post for the stats.
I'm still going to invest.Looking at some stats, as I type.

I thank you..

I wanna take this time to thank you all for your support. At the time of this writing, I see my views increasing ( based on the Blogger platform stats).I see:

Starting Anew... 37 views
Flipping My Cash ... 20 views
FMC ; Update ... 79 views

I feel good about this because this is ONLY word of Mouth. No ads.No paid advertising of any kind. I will be doing that, of course, because I'd like MORE views, but THIS is GREAT!

Multilevel Marketing ( MLM)

I'm a reader of the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series of books written by Robert Kiyosagi. One thing that struck me about his thoughts/ ways to make money was that he endorses MLMs.

You know what those are.

Picture this ( It's happen to me a lot). Your with family and/ or friends at a gathering and a loved one asks you about your life. They ask you are you satisfied with where you are in life.Financially. They tell you in their most excited way that they have this business that they are part of and you should be involved. Once you show interest, they invite you to a meeting in the middle of the week, usually, that you can learn about this opportunity. They say it will be fun/interesting.

You go.

You see people of all types at the "meeting'. It turns out to be some seminar about ways to make money with a program they are behind. They give you stats and different philosophies of making money with the program. They show you the money part FIRST. Then they show you the cost of the program LAST.

"You remember. You 'member" ~ George Lopez

Anyway, I'm a follower of John Chow and I got an email of his talking about a program that makes money. now, the difference between him and people I know is that HE has made money. You can see it. It may be fake, but I doubt it. i figure he may be on to something.

The reason, I'm bringing this up is because I'm in its trial period. I'm looking at adding it to the Empire. I'll expose it another time, maybe.

You might be saying, " Damn, why doesn't he stick to one thing at a time?"

I TRULY don't believe that that HAS to be the way to do things. That CAN'T be true for hustlers. I tend to think of myself as a Hustler. One who is documenting HOW he hustles for other hustlers ( i.e. this blog).

With that being said, another motivating hustler to me is Dame Dash. He calls this the " Octupus model".

I'll let him explain:

See? I believe in the tactics of successful people. He even mentioned Russell Simmons following this tactic in his own way.

I think I'll end it there. a lot of material to soak in...

I'll see you next week!

Flipping My Cash: Update

2014-11-21T15:30:00.000-05:00

Yohoooo!

I had an interesting conversation this past weekend about my drinking on the show. A loved one told me that I shouldn't do it because I might not be taken seriously. I don't believe so.I think it adds flavor and makes me different from most like me.

What do YOU have to say about that?

Hit my email: BenjaminBrothersPublishing@gmail.com and let me know what YOU think...I'm interested.

Anyway, so I missed my Saturday spot..sorry.Please forgive a brother.

Big shout to all Veterans/ Military. Particularly, +Demus Holmes. Thanks for putting in work.

Last week I was telling you about me getting into FanDuel and ShareBuilder.

Let me clue you in.

I was told many a time to join FanDuel, since I'm into Fantasy Football,I wish I started at the beginning of the NFL season.Interesting enough, you can get into it with Hockey, and Basketball, too..Not a big watcher of either, but I'm into flipping my money, so..... I mean, as an entrepreneur, you take risks, gambles if you will to make more money. Not that this will become an addiction, either, these are games of skill. It literally is like the Stock Market with a faster return!

With FanDuel, I invested $10 into my account to start. That was on the 5th :

11/6: I invested $3 in matchups
11/7 : I Invested $2 in matchups
11/11: I won 3.60 + .20 bonus from Fanduel
11/13: I invested $5 in matchups
11/18: I put $10 in my account, invested $12 in matches,won 5.40 + .16 FanDuel bonus
11/20: I invested $8 in matchups...waiting for the big score!
I'm thinking I'm gonna go bigger next round.why not? "Scared money makes no money"

Note: I put my actually spending an earnings in , so you can see for yourself what I did. I'm in no way affiliated with FanDuel. I would love to be..but I'm not. What I see is there is a community with FanDuel and I'm speaking to them.

Now..

With ShareBuilder, I originally had about $1.03 in my account I invested $50.My first trade cost $6.95(which all trades cost). You can buy as much as your money can afford minus the $6.95 trade fee. I bought one share of a particular company for $43.63( at the time of me writing this, the stock is at 42.24).

I try to buy stock that gives dividends because I invest for growth. This is an ideal way to get my money "working".

Do YOU have ways that you're making YOU'RE money work for you? What do you do?
Are you building an Empire?

Thanks, Inkyats!!

Flipping My Cash

2014-11-08T15:00:00.000-05:00

Hello Folks!!

This is another throwback video. In it, I explain the move I made from California to Florida.Mainly, how much of a pain in the ass it was.Yet, there were lessons to be learned from the situation.Life lessons on patience, budgeting and being proactive.

Most of the things we go through in life are because we don't see ( or choose not to see!) the dangers ahead. We know we have bills to pay, but we want that instant gratification. We want the things that make us happy now! We'll " get around" to paying our bills later, those new Jordans ( or J's, as some folks call them) are coming out tomorrow!

I've lived that life...and still do, but it's more controlled, now. I look at my bills for the next month, estimate what my checks will look like for that month and then plan accordingly. I use tools like direct deposit, services like BillPay, electronic transfers and such so that I can have systems in place to pay bills that are fixed. I can see the wiggle room with the money I have left over. I can see if there may be some fundraising I'll have to do to achieve extra things.

Speaking of which, you may of heard of making your money work for you...Well, I'm experimenting with some of my "employees", as we speak. I opened a ShareBuilder account and a FanDuel account.

I did a lil' research on some stocks over the years and invested in a company that pays dividends. I'm looking at some penny stocks, too. I love that risk! I feel, if I can invest in something that has a small price, for example, $.05, buy say 1,000 shares of it ( $50), if I sell them at the price of $.10 that will bring me $100!! Not bad, requires some patience and courage, but it's a small investment that shouldn't hurt too much...as well as, I can build up with the dividends I collect, too..

Now that's hustlin' for ya ass!

As for FanDuel it's about the same, you do your research on players and put teams together for gains. You can get in big tournaments or play individuals head-to-head. What I like is you can place bets, as low as $1 !! What I also like is you can get your returns FASTER...within a week !This will allow me to even take some of my gains and invest in more stocks! That's my plan..

I started both this week.I'm even keeping track of these investments.BOTH provide statements, I love statements!

My goal is to keep on "flipping" my initial investment.Keep you posted!

See you next Saturday.

Starting Anew, New Beginnings (Yet, Again)

2014-11-01T12:00:00.000-04:00

Hey Hey Hey!

Wow...I haven't done this blog in quite some time...pretty much...over a YEAR!

We'll start here:

Inqronicles07132014 :

I had just came off a trip with my NEW lady. I call her "AJ"....speaking of whom I have a Facebook Page with! You can see it here.We were visiting her son's family and making our way north to see my daughters, mother, grandmother, brother, sister-in-law,nephews and cousins.Had a great time!

If you've been following me..or look back at past works, you'll see I have the same logo as the blog and new Music.Ya like?

As you can see in the Intro ( big shout to my man, Garf Richards, out in UK who has his OWN blog called BlogForBeats.com, for doing the intro music), AJ and I are "thick as thieves"!!

She's my best friend, more so than my lover, and my FUTURE.We do a lot together and we're with each other all the time! This next video hits on that

This one's one of my popular uploads on my YouTube Channel. We were just talking about the love we have for one another...and having a second chance. We called it:

Mature Love :

As you can see...a brother got pretty choked up...but I spoke from the heart, though!

Good times!Good times!

Moving on..to more MANLY type shit!

One of my goals in life is to be financially free. To be truly wealthy! I know it takes time and effort. It takes steps. My plan is outlined in the video below.( As well as, this is the name of my Fantasy Football league....Go Patriots!!)

Side Hustles

Mind you...I haven't done anything with this stuff - Yet.The procrastination in me is FIERCE!

This is why I am re-doing all of this...Meanwhile keeping all other posts, so, that you can see the procrastination in me.As well as the changes in my life!

Man! I got Loads of comments on this.Got this phrase in the heads of people who DON'T use this vocabulary!

See you next Saturday!!!

Talking with Walt Simpson III

2013-10-19T10:00:00.000-04:00

I'm taking a little break from Empire Building, again, to do an interview with another famous friend of mine. His name - Walter Simpson III. I went to Prep School with this brother, for a semester, then he went on to greener pastures...and girls. We were in an all boys school , after all! (insert laugh track here)

He was a basketball star at school. They called him "Mike" and he had Michael Jordan moves, to boot!He was a Freshman who STARRED in the Varsity League! That's an accomplishment, "for your ass"!

He also had the ability to study and memorize the words in whatever book he had to study from.Word for word. It only makes since, as far as memorizing lines, that he made the transition.

I caught up with "Mike" recently for an interview. This is what he had to say:

Walter "Mike" Simpson III

INQ: Knowing you in school, you were an athlete. What got you into acting?

Walt: Basketball was and still is my first love. however, it was around my 3rd year in college that i realized my passion for acting during an impromptu play where some group on campus needed me to play Frederick Douglas. From there the interest grew & lead me to a local theatre in Baltimore called arena players...and then eventually i found myself in nyc.

INQ: How’d you get into acting? What was your first big break?

Walt: I was at an event in nyc and i met this guy who said he did casting. he eventually got me into a few movies as an extra. i begin learning about & going out on more auditions and gradually started booking more roles. one of my first widely seen projects was actually a music video. sittin home by Bad Boy Entertainment's girl group, Total.

(Note from INQ: click the link above to see the video..he comes in at 1:58. He steals the MVP trophy!)

INQ: How’d you end up in the movie, The Cookout?

Walt: i learned about the cookout from an email blast i received from a fellow actor. i submitted my head shot / resume not really expecting a response...but got one after all. it's been a great experience man. while i definitely got a good ways to go still, i've been fortunate enough to play lead in a host of independent films, tv shows, commercials, & stage plays.

INQ: What are your acting projects? (past, present, future)

Walt: i've been cast to play the role of jacob be in a film shoot in LA that's coming out next year called 'never the bride'.

INQ: I noticed you've worked with notable actors/actresses, anyone you loved working with? Anyone you'd like to work with?

Walt: i really enjoyed working with an actor vincent d'onofrio and kathryn erbe on law & order. they were both cool! i look forward to working with you brotha! i think we could do a cool remake of bad boys& replace will smith & martin lawrence!!

INQ: I'd MOST DEFINITELY DOWN! I'll be Martin Lawrence..YOU look like a Mike Lowrey! What drives you?

Walt: realizing my purpose. i don't want to leave here (this life) feeling like i didn't realize ALL of what i was put here to do, change, challenge, overcome, leave behind & become. think about it...what if the hammer never ever met the nail, michael jordan never touched a basketball, steve jobs...a computer, JESUS...a cross. that would suck!

INQ: Have you won any awards/accolades?

Walt: i've been acknowledged for something here or there...but it honestly feels rather weird to now list things i "won" after my previous answer. so instead of doing that, i will say that one of my most gratifying moments ("accolades") was just recently experienced. a close friend of my told me that he was going to now pursue his own longtime dream because he was inspired to see that i was still pursuing mine. i thinks that's just the coolest!

INQ: Can I have your autograph?

Walt: man go ahead with that...you still owe me for that lunch money i lent you back at prep - Lol!

INQ: As clichéd as this may be, do you have any advice for aspiring actors/actresses ?

Walt: yes! start writing. start telling your OWN stories. Not only to you need to tell them. THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT HERE WAITING TO HEAR THEM....and nobody can tell your story better than you! doing this will also set you apart from every other "walking headshot" and give you a platform to discovered for being nothing more than....YOU!

INQ: What are other endeavors are you into?

Walt: i enjoy writing, creating & "telling" relate able stories...options trading, web marketing, & can't NOBODY see me on the michael jackson wii video game!

INQ: Married? Family?

Walt: yes, 10yrs this oct 25th...man, i got lucky! she's an amazing women! no she's not perfect, hell neither am i...but she's without question perfect for me. we have 4 beautiful children....

INQ: What is a typical day for you?

Walt: mr. mom! hey man, just being honest...this husband/father role IS WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INQ: Any last words?

Walt: DECIDE what you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want. "SEE" it. SEIZE IT!

Walter, it's been a pleasure!Another friend of mine who has to hustle to make a living. As you can see with him, like Mike McGlone, he's multifaceted. He uses his talents to earn a good living.

Hustling your ass off is the name of this game. That builds Empires!

See you next week, my people!

Talking with My Man Mike McGlone (Again)

2013-10-05T10:00:00.000-04:00

Earlier in this blog (click to see) , I've put spotlight on famous friends of mine. One being a friend of mine who I went to Prep School with. His name is Michael McGlone. You may remember him in the GEICO commercials, among other things.

My Man, Mike McGlone

Michael McGlone has an impressive resume(click his name to see), always has.It continues to get bigger!I caught up with Mike recently to get an update on him.

Always a humble guy.Always answers my emails, Facebook posts, even watches MY videos. A man worth admiring.

INQ: In our last interview you had two Records, HERO and To Be Down, respectively, that have been released and are available across the web. You were completing work on your third Album, SPEED, and was recording another song, as a single. A song that you were looking to promote in conjunction, and support of the release of the Third Record. This was around 2009. What’s new?

MIkeM: Speed is finished and my fourth as yet untitled album is near complete…the response to the single Move and Remember was very good and I look forward to exploiting the new work(s) through unique digital distribution and placements in Film and TV…

INQ: Who have you worked with since then?

MIkeM: The most notable news since last we spoke are the production of a few Films, including my Third Feature Film with Eddie Burns, The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, and a recurring role on CBS’s Person of Interest starring Taraji Henson, Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson…I played Detective Bill Szymanksi of the Organized Crime Task Force in seasons 1 and 2…

INQ: What are your current projects?

MIkeM: There is a Film I made in Sarasota, staring Danielle White, Armand Assante and Ed Lauter called Blind Pass on its way and in early October I will be traveling to Brazil to work with Sam Neil on the Feature F2014… In addition to this, my Boxing training and fitness, generally are taking a much larger role in my life and I’m thrilled with that aspect. Intense workouts everyday…

INQ: What does your future look like?

MIkeM: Continuing the training, making the new Film and more Films…landing the next gigs, whatever they may be in Film TV and/or Stage…and my writing, my novels and that for the screen… There are a few projects I am excited about in these areas but am not speaking very freely of as I don’t talk about works-in-progress, but I assure you you can look forward to powerful and exciting Michael McGlone exposure…

INQ: If someone wanted you to be a part of their project, how would they go about reaching you?

MIkeM: Offers and interests go through the LA or NY office of Don Buchwald and Associates…or through my manager/partner Rob Findlay, at Rob@MichaelMcGlone.com...

INQ: You have many credits in various forms of Entertainment: Singer, Actor, Comedian, Musician, and Writer. Are you still doing all of this?

MIkeM: I am, very Happily…

INQ: How do you manage your time?

MIkeM: By determining what is most important and pressing and working on that until responsibilities are met…and only if it is possible without interfering with the highest priority’s Success, do I engage in other projects/work simultaneously…

INQ: What’s a typical day like?

MIkeM: I wake and get my tea started, take my vitamins, do my push-ups (210 average a day)…gulp my tea when it’s ready: 4 cups (17 ounces each), with raw honey and almond milk…get online to get email out of the way and then work on whatever is calling if there is time and there are no appointments, but whatever happens into the late afternoon, I will be leaving Home anywhere between 4 and 5, generally, everyday to train…most days, running to Central or Riverside Park to jump rope at some length, sometimes do stairs, shadow box and engage in other boxing relevant cardio training, and then, many days over the Summer, end it with a Soul Cycle Class. Over the Summer I have taken a great number of these, and they have been a wonderful part of my routine. When that’s done, if I don’t have plans, it is to get something smaller to eat and/or drink to refuel and then Home again to settle in, have dinner, and watch a program or movie, then read and to bed…(sometimes before bed though I answer interview questions at a little before midnight ;)

Mike McGlone getting his "Boxing on"

Prepared to kick ass!

INQ: Any last words?

MIkeM: Yes: Thank you and I Wish you and yours and all your readers Happiness and Success…

I thank you, Michael, for taking the time to let me interview you, again.Always a pleasure!

I chose to do this because it's inspiring.Mike has to hustle to get roles, get paid - he's multifaceted. With all his talents, he's built an Empire for himself. He uses his talent to make money. That's what I'm doing. That's what I'm showing you.

I use my resources to get me further...Do YOU do that?

As Mike says, thank YOU, Readers, I wish YOU happiness and success!

Brick #4: Inkland Empire Blueprint

2013-09-28T05:00:00.000-04:00

"Failing to plan is planning to fail" ~Alan Lakein

Hey!

After looking at my numbers, I see that changing the focus, social media and consistent posting is bringing a different audience AND increasing viewership! Yes!

This posting I'm going over my plans to build this Empire. That way I can be held accountable for my actions. This also allows me to go back and read past posts to keep myself on track ( if YOU don't !!).

As it stands I have 3 blogs I write:

This one
Dummy Sauce
Undadog Hip Hop
Coming Soon !? I'm in negotiations with this one. It'll be about a current Scholar/Professor/Public Speaker

Video shows (that are currently on hold):

Dummy Sauce
Inky Mann's World

I started a weekly newsletter called The Inkland Empire (sign up for it is on the sidebar).I'm shopping printers and suppliers for merchandising each project.I'm still developing each blog, as well. I've opened an Amazon Seller account. I have an eBay store already (currently closed).

I'm spreading myself thin! Or am I?

My goal is to set up systems, hire people to fill in some of the "cogs" in the systems and keep on going. I've learned that outsourcing is the way to go! Actually, I'm reading a book called Outsourcing Mastery: How to Build a Thriving Internet Business with an Army of Freelancers, by Steve Scott. The book tells you Steve's techniques on how to build an efficient team, where to get them and so on. Outsourcing seems to come up a lot when it comes to building a form of passive income. Passive income being money you make 24 hours a day. I follow Pat Flynn for this, too.

The 3 Blogs

What I do is come up with topics by reading all sorts of things, newspapers, magazines, other blogs whatever gets the mind going.I devote the day I'm publishing a particular blog to all things related to that blog's subject/topic.For example, I publish this blog on Saturday, so, I'll write, edit, check metrics and anything else dealing with this blog on Saturdays, for now.I also seek out interviews, which I'm doing at the moment for this blog.I'm on the lookout for famous/popular people and business owners.

There is a group called The Foundation (Dane Maxwell), that I follow for this, too. They spotlight entrepreneurs for business owners to get the feel of TRUE entrepreneurship.\

I'm also working on administering a blog for a friend of mine who is a college professor in Connecticut, a nationally recognized Scholar and public speaker. He's all for it, now, we are just working out the details.

Lastly, I'm learning how to build niche sites, so that I can have an impressive portfolio of websites that make money. I'm reading How to Make Money Online (Mike Omar), How to Find a Profitable Blog Topic Idea and How to Write Great Blog Posts That Engage Readers (both by Steve Scott) to help me with that. All very informative. They are literally step-by-step.

The Video Shows

At the moment, I'm not recording.I'm writing shows, working on Intros and "outros" and seeking a camera. I've been using the Flip Camera and I want another one.Problem is they don't make them anymore.anything like that HD quality at an affordable price range will do, though. any suggestions? I'm not ready for a film crew, yet, so..

The Inkland Newsletter

The point of the newsletter is to keep my followers informed as to what I'm doing with my Empire. I've learned that people DO want to know how you do it, so, I give a weekly account. It's kind of a supplement to this blog.wanna join? Fill in your information in the sidebar with the directions " Join the Empire". I also added a SpeakPipe tag along the right side of the blog (see it? It says " Your Voice Here".It's an opportunity for you to leave me a voice message.Tell me anything! At this point I just want to hear from my followers (YOU)!

Merchandise

I'm designing logos and images for the different publications. There have been requests for t shirts and I'm thinking I'll get into hats, as well. Why not? It can definitely help me raise funds for my projects. It can provide value to you, too.I have a resource for private labeling on everything from shirts to sunglasses. I also have a friend who owns a clothing store.I believe if the designs are good enough, we can get some distribution going!

Amazon.com

In a way, I'm developing a partnership with Amazon. I have ads alongside this blog as well as having a Kindle Publishing account ( for later) and a Seller Account. Similar to eBay, I'm able to sell products for a profit! The game, for me, is to learn the system.I'm doing this because, Why not, and my eBay store is closed. I want on online store.Until I get a big enough name, I need to use popular tools to get my "retail on".

This is it! I figure with these I can make a decent income and then get into other endeavors.

I'm looking at Rap music production.I'd like to be able to have my bills paid while I'm making music for profit!
I'd love to help my Father get his Travel Agency off the ground and..
Id like to get my brother's carpentry business off the ground

These are some of my goals in life. Will I do it? I believe so.I have a plan.
