The 2.0 version of pwnage tool features a new interface, support for jailbreaking and unlocking Software 2.0 on 1st Generation iPhones, and jailbreaking the iPhone 3G on 2.0.
MobileMe, App Store, iPhone 2.0, iTunes 7.7

In a surprising act of earliness, Apple has taken MobileMe, the App Store, and firmware 2.0 online. Mobile me was taken online after last night when Apple released the MobileMe updater for OS X that replaced all references to .Mac with MobileMe.

Apple has also released iTunes 7.7, which has support for iPhone OS 2.0, App Store Applications, and the ability to be controlled by the "Remote" application that is available on the App Store. iTunes 7.7 is available through Software Update.

iPhone OS 2.0 Build 2A347 (download link) is now available and has all the Exchange and other features that everyone has wanted for the iPhone for so long now.

App Store:
Finally! We can all download 3rd party applications for the iPhone with no h4x0r1ng required! The App Store is hidden from iTunes, but, if you search the Application name in iTunes, it will show up. You can also access the App Store from the App Store application on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Good news! When you download an Application from your iPhone, it syncs back up to your iTunes library.

EDIT: I see at least 4 apps that are available that you can download from Installer: Sketches, Band, Superpong, and Trism.

Modified BOOT-132 enables vanilla install from retail Leopard

Sorry, I know that I'm a bit late to post this.
An explanation of how this works
Original thread by f41qu3 - report your discoveries and successes here.
Questions & problems go here
Developed a configuration that works? post it here for the next guy

QUOTE(f41qu3 @ Jun 30 2008, 04:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

David Eliott has just released a new version of his modified boot-132 bootloader.
One of the new things it can do is to load kexts from an .img file which contains kexts (or even an mkext) and boot Leo.
That means you can have two mkexts, one folder with kexts on the .img file and the folder with kexts from your installed system
or even two folders with mkexts.
How does it work?

Basically, you create a flat dmg with the kexts in a folder and the bootloader will load them for you. This means quite a lot;
you can boot from a retail Leo DVD and install it, you can update straight from apple, you can reinstall and not have to add
the same kexts to your install every time. The bootloader behaves like the linux kernel: you can use an mboot (a patched syslinux
was used) compatible bootloader which tells to boot-dfe about the .img file (the ramdisk or initrd, as it's known by the linux users)
and boot-dfe is going to use the kexts (or mkext) from it.
What does it do?

This new boot-dfe has been tested with the retail Leopard DVD and it can boot, install and run Leopard without having to build
a modified DVD.

This is how it's done: you burn an ISO (which has the bootloader on it) to a CD/DVD, after it gets to the boot
prompt, you press ESC or ENTER and it prompts for a new BOOT DEVICE, you swap the BOOT CD/DVD with the LEO Retail DVD, you press
enter and it shows you the name of the bootable partition from the DVD, you press enter and Leo starts to load.

Quick resume about "oh, what to do now?"

#1 - Burn .iso on a CD;
#2 - Boot this CD;
#3 - When Darwin prompt appear, eject CD and put Mac OS X Leopard Retail DVD;
#4 - Press enter (or -v and enter...wherever...)
#5 - After install, boot using CD boot again and install .kext needed...and usual files.
#6 - Done!

For the time being, you cannot have this bootloader on an USB stick and have it boot the Retail Leopard DVD. The reason why this
happens is related to the way the BIOS handles DVDs and optical media: there's no BOOT DEVICE associated with an optical drive
which the BIOS has not booted from. Basically, this is like the disk swap trick known to the PlayStation gamers.
You can already put this on an USB stick/CD/DVD and boot a vanilla install (vanilla= no added kext, no replaced kext on the partition).

As usual, this only works for compatible machines(that means you still can't boot a vanilla system on AMD, they need specialised patches).

What are you going to do in the future?

David Eliott said he'd merge some of the things from Chameleon into boot-dfe. Those involved in the development of Chameleon will merge
the support for ramdisks into Chameleon and more effort will go into making the distribution 100% legal.
Work might(read: should, in the very close future) also go into making Chameleon boot the Retail DVDs when loading the bootloader from the HDD.

User guide and link to the ISO

This ISO needs to be modded (add dsmos to the Extensions folder) in order to be able to boot Leo.

Credits for this go to:

David Eliott: for modding boot to allow us to boot from Retail Leopard DVDs;

Kabyl: for modding boot to allow the usage of a separate folder on the disk and merging features from Chameleon to boot-dfe-146;

bumby: for compiling syslinux and figuring out how to build the ISO

Download Original project kexts: http://www.mediafire.com/?uwd9dtttjfk

Download modified kexts: http://www.mediafire.com/?1ne1zbl4znv

Superhai Method to edit image: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=803725

STiCKpIN Method to boot from USB Stick (needs Windows): http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry805274

HMBT Auto-Patch for edit image: (Beta) http://homepage.mac.com/f41qu3/.Public/CDBoot_RC2.sh

Cheerz,

I find that the HMBT Auto-Patch method is the easiest to use.
10.5.4 Released

Mac OS X 10.5.4 has been released by Apple and is available through Software Update. The Delta Update weighs in at about 59MB. The update appears to be mostly a bug fixing release. MobileMe support is not mentioned in the documentation. 10.5.4 is safe if you have a vanilla install, be sure to back up kexts however.

Here is a list of the main fixes in the release:

-Includes recent Apple security updates.
-Resolves an issue with saving and reopening Adobe Creative Suite 3 files on a remote server.
-Includes additional RAW image support for several cameras.
-Addresses an issue that may result in a partially installed X11 application.
-Improves L2TP VPN client reliability.
-Addresses AirPort reliability issues with 5GHz networks.
-Addresses AirPort issues that may result in slower performance in Logic Studio or MainStage.
-Addresses a potential performance issue when loading secure web pages.
-Resolves issues that may be encountered when accessing secure web pages with client certificates that reside on a smart card.
-Addresses an issue in which switching from a space with a Finder window keeps the Finder as the active application instead of the application residing in the destination space.
-Fixes an issue in which dragging an application from the list of application assignments in Spaces System
-Preferences does not assign the application to the desired space.
-Resolves an Exposé issue that may result in only a subset of windows being shown.

Update Info

OS X on the MSI Wind, Before it's Released

A hacker, and a member of our forums, has managed to get Mac OS X Leopard running on the MSI Wind. This is what jav had to say about getting it on his MSI Wind. It's translated from spanish.

QUOTE

Well, here it is. The new MSI Wind running Kalyway 10.5.2. I still have to make some adjustments, such as the resolution and the wireless card, but I couldn't stop myself from posting these images that I'm sure will get the interest from more than one person. Ethernet and Bluetooth work right out of the box, so I'm really expecting a lot from this small notebook.

All that and the MSI Wind isn't even going to be released until July 7th.
EDIT: It appears that the sound also works OTB. The resolution and wireless are the only things that we know of that don't work.
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=30238
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=30239
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=30240

Forum Thread (Spanish)
If you speak English, post here

Psystar has done it again, this time releasing 3 more Open Computers that are compatible with Mac OS X; 2 of them being servers and one being a more expensive "Pro" version of the basic Open Computer. Here is a list of the new computers with basic specs:

OpenPro Computer-$999, €670, £507
-Ubuntu Linux 8.04 included
-No keyboard, mouse, or monitor included
-3.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor
-2GB of DDR2 800 memory
-nVidia GeForce 8600GT with 512MB of RAM
-20x DVD+/-RW SATA drive
-Gigabit Ethernet
-8 rear USB Ports
-7 channel Integrated Audio SPDIF and Optical Output

OpenServ 1100-$1599, €1025, £810
-CentOS 5.1 Linux preinstalled
-No monitor mouse or keyboard included
-Intel Xeon E5420 Harpertown 2.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
-4GB of fully-buffered DDR2 667 RAM
-1 750GB 7200RPM SATA drive
-Dual Gigabit LAN
-Integrated Graphics
-Up to 4 Hard Drives

OpenServ 2400-$1999, €1280, €1015
-CentOS 5.1 Linux preinstalled
-No monitor mouse or keyboard included
-Intel Xeon E5420 Harpertown 2.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
-4GB of fully-buffered DDR2 667 RAM
1 750GB 7200RPM SATA drive
-Dual Gigabit LAN
-Integrated Graphics
-Up to 6 Hard Drives

As you can plainly see, the Psystar OpenPro Computer has more power in most areas than the Mac Pro, and it is a full $1500 cheaper. If you want to get Mac OS X Leopard pre-installed on any of their computers, it will cost you $155; $25 more than the retail version.

Psystar's OpenPro Computer

Psystar
