Jewelscapes Blog Being Deleted–Find Me On Facebook Pretty Please!

Hello lovely bloggers and blog followers! I deleted my blog yesterday, but undeleted it, (which I really wish I wouldn’t have discovered you can do!) but just for 2 days so that I can tell you where to find me after that.

I and my family are doing great, but I have made a permanent decision to no longer blog so that I can more fully focus my time on my kids, most especially my daughter who just hit her teens. I helped a' make em', and I'm gonna do my darndest to take the best care of them while their under my care that I possibly can, whether that's the funnest job at all times or not, it is the most important and the most rewarding to me. You mama's know what I mean. :)

So, thank you, thank you, thank you! And I hope I'll see you over at the Jewelscapes Facebook Fan Page!

I have ONE outfit with TWO ways to accessorize it, for you today! I’ve been extra busy lately with helping my husband get things ready for his landscaping display at the Spokane Garden show that will be this weekend at the Spokane Convention Center. I get to make fliers, update the website, think of promos, and give landscape element “style” advice! Such as, “that bridge needs some accessories! Do you have any chunky metal accessories that you can put on it?” (I’ll show you pictures later.) I’m telling you, accessories are what makes the difference for EVERYTHING!

So, I’m sorry to say I only have one outfit to share with you today, but I accessorized it 2 ways for you! Well, I really did it because the first photos are what I was wearing in the morning and THEN I created a new necklace. When I tried on the new necklace with my outfit I was already wearing, I loved the combo! So I took more photos. What I love about the jewelry above is how I made my Kendi Remix Necklace extra super duper long! As you know this necklace set is 5 separate necklaces that have clasps at BOTH ends of each necklace, so you can make so many variations with them, as seen HERE!

Other things I love about this outfit – this top, my shoes, and the color combo of blue and turquoise!

This may be one of my favorite outfits ever and one of my favorite necklaces ever! I love the artistic feel of this whole ensemble!!! This necklace is so chock full of bright red coral that it will make an “outfit” out of anything I wear. It is also long enough to double wrap which creates an amazing collar of red loveliness.

I ordered an Anthro look book and was loving their fresh bohemian looks and think it effected many of my up coming outfits. They just feel so right for Spring!

This skirt is actually a dress of my daughters. It had spaghetti straps, but since she decided she didn’t like it anymore, I cut off the straps and wore it as a skirt. Nice! I though the Tribal Necklace was the perfect fun touch. I love how this necklace is bold yet so lightweight due to being created with carved bone beads! I can see this necklace being worn a LOT this Spring and Summer with so many styles of outfits. I also wore it HERE with a totally different style of outfit. I can also see myself using this as a “go to” outfit over and over.

I found this beautiful vintage style dress about 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my 3rd baby. Due to a stretchy back to the dress, I wore it while pregnant and now to! I however, have always worn it alone or with a cream cardigan. Thanks to all the fashion blogger ideas out there, I now know it can be worn all kinds of ways. Such as, throwing a bright plaid shirt and belt over it and some brown boots to rustic it up a bit! I love this mix of rugged and vintage feminine.

See that mud?! Exciting isn’t it! After all the snow I’ve seen for months and months, I am now happy to welcome mud because that means I will soon be welcoming green grass and flowers too! A relaxed Saturday afternoon sprung this outfit from my closet. Again, a little vintage feeling, but the only thing vintage is my straw purse from a yard sale about 10 years ago. Achieve this look by rolling up your skinny jeans, tying your button up at your waist, and pulling your hair into a poofed ponytail! And what really makes it pop are the red accents, red shoes, red bracelets stacked deep, and sweet red rose earrings speak Spring!

I loved this color combo! The vintage top is the perfect shade of spring green with abstract flower spray pattern in white and yellow, inspiring my golden honey toned jewels to be paired with it. I then threw the aqua blue green corduroy jacket over it, so fresh! I spent a day in town doing some shopping for groceries and home needs and took my 3 kids to the dentist for check ups. Yes, you guessed it, this is another “Professional Motha’” look as seen HERE and HERE. And I felt purdy doing it.

Some friends from our congregation threw a great family and friends game night last week!What did we do at game night? We ate delicious soup that our friends made. Had delightful chocolate truffles (that some of the teen gals made) with a bit of champagne (for those over 21). I played Shapes UP with my boys. Shapes up is a fun and educational game that all of my kids love and I even enjoy playing with them! And then I played UNO with my boys and friends of all ages. Sunshine (my teen daughter) played a roundy game of Spoons with all the teenagers and some dads. RouDY!!! We are definitely going to do that again. Fun FUn!

Yep, my elegant long skirt has butt pockets! Too cute right?! I’ve had this skirt just forever, but this is the first time I’ve ever matched it with stripes. I like it! The black and white stripes spice up this classic skirt combo. Add the extra super long necklace and huge boho earrings to it, and it’s officially taken up a notch to somewhere special. Where ?. I don’t know, I just know that it made the outfit FeEeEel FuNnN!

It is starting to feel like spring! The snow is melting, the sun is out, and I can wear a light weight jacket and feel almost warm! I love this jacket. I found this lil beauty at an estate sale years ago. I believe it was handmade by someone, there is no tag. But how unique is it, huh?! I usually accent the deep orange in the print when I wear it, but the sunshine this day demanded that the yellow and blue be highlighted this time.

Aaaargh! Just when I said it was starting to feel like spring time and the snow was melting, more snow! Isn’t it beautiful. I really do think it is. I just want a different, green kind of beautiful now. I’m pretty sure this is the last of the falling snow for the year though. I have several more photos all ready taken for you, and no more snow after this one. We are now in full melt off and MUD stage. Which, is great because that comes right before everything starts turning green.

Now this outfit looks great in the snow, but it really was meant as a Spring outfit. The white peasant top under the bold red and white stripe tank with just a bit of extra warmth from the comfy sweater vest = super
comfortable and fresh!

I've got to be honest, I just DON’T get doing pics in front of a dripping with scuzz dumpster. I will, however, have full on mud, backgrounds soon. yay! Must be the country girl in me that thinks that mud is better than dumpster for photos? Ha ha (laughing at myself, not you.) I recently received a special request from a customer to create a yellow stone necklace similar to a Blue Peruvian Opal one she purchased from me in the past. And I’m very excited to show you what I created. She gets first chance at purchasing this necklace, but if it is not what she was thinking of, then you all will get a chance at it!

When Everybody/Everywhere announced that todays link up was for Polka Dots, I thought, “Fun!” And then I went to look through my polka dot clothing and realized that my polka dot scarf is the ONLY polka dots I own! Can you believe that? Polka dots are so cute and fun and I only own one polka dot item! But it is a super fabulous polka dot item. I wear it so many ways, like here and here. Oh, and I guess use to have this polka dot top HERE, but I don’t have it anymore. I do know this, my favorite way to wear my polka dots is with stripes. But they are sure fun to mix with any pattern, I think I’ll mix it with floral next!
And how about this color combo? Bright navy blue with Aqua Blue!!! I don’t know if I’ve ever mixed those shades together before, but I adore it for this spring!

I love the casually dressed up westerny feel to this outfit. The long pleated skirt is so comfortable and beautiful when worn with the sweet pink floral thermal and the brown leather of the belt and boots rugged it up even a bit more! The vintage skeleton key necklace (the last one in my shop right now!) seemed to fit perfectly with the western/feminine/vintage feel of this outfit. And those red India Glass bead bracelets added that extra color that made the little roses in the shirt really stand out. I did a day of grocery and home decorating shopping in this comfy and cute number! Oh, and yes, it’s March and it’s still snowing here! It’s not the norm for it to still be snowing this late, and I love the snow, but I’m ready for flowers! I want to plant wildflowers all along my “photo shoot” area on the driveway!

Ugh! I would not have even used this photo except that I wouldn’t make my 30 this week if I didn’t. I need some real sunshine soon and a good fake tan! I need some color in this skin of mine ASAP!!! At least my jewels and clothes were sunny, even if the weather hasn’t been. So I wore this when my lil family went to check out the first HOme and Yard Show of the season (we bought the BEST warm caramel popcorn on the way in and snacked on it throughout, good times). My hubby (the landscaper) doesn’t do this show because it just seems to early for most people in our area to be making solid plans for their yards. But, we have 2 other Home & Yard type shows coming up in April. Do you want to see pictures of my hubbies landscaping displays for the shows when we do them? They usually include a water fall and pond, pergola, patios, trails… and we may have some other fun ideas up our sleeve this year too!

Yes, MORE March snow! Well, at least my hubby gets paid to plow it, that’s good. I wore this casual but fun little number for a day of babysitting and Jewelscaping! My Kendi 30X30 winter challenge is officially completed! Now, I had some much crazier combos planned for this dress, but didn’t get up the nerve to do it. I think when the sun starts shining and it gets a little warmer, I’m going to break out those crazier combos with this dress, even if just to make you laugh!

You could use a good laugh at my expense every now and then right? I know my sister will laugh and that will make it worth it!. I actually really liked this combo. I only wore it at home, but it was one fun little house number don’t you think?!

That lovely bag may look large enough to be leaving on a jet plane for some London fog, but London Fog is actually just the brand OF the beautiful bag! This is my favorite favorite purse eva’! No, NO, nO, it is NOT a “mom bag”, it is an Organized and Prepared For Anything Woman’s Purse! It has 7, yes 7, outside pockets, AND 3 separate inside compartments, each with it’s own lil tiny pockets. What do I carry in those? Outside pockets – 1- nail polish, lip gloss, under eye concealer.2- mini hand sanitizer, pads,mini pit stick (a.k.a. –deodorant) 3. cel phone 4. pens and pencils 5. mini tape measure, mini sewing kit . Inside compartments – 1. wallet, organinzer/phone book.   2. camera (it gets the middle zippered compartment for cushioned dirt free comfort) 3. papers (bills to pay, forms for upcoming appointments, grocery list….

Where was I going this day, in this outfit, with this wonderful bag? To the grocery store. And yes, I did get the question/statement, “you are dressed up!” , which may make some uncomfortable, but I take as a compliment

So, in my opinion, a button up shirt with lil ruffles and poofy sleeves all buttoned up to the neck,could be a little stiff and boring. But NOT when it is deep rusty orange red and your skirt is bright purple! Poof!!! Boring to NON boring, NON stiff, and TONS of fun!

Fast forward a couple hours from the last outfit photos and FLIP a skirt into skinny jeans and you have a totally different look. I just went from Bible meeting to an evening out with the hubby with that one flip! What did we do? Tried a new restaurant together, liked it lots, mostly liked the idea of trying something new together! And bought a new dining room table for 1/2 off! Gone is the “Jackson Pollock” table ( you know the famous dude that painted by throwing paint at the canvas and dribbling it. A.k.a – my children with permanent markers and paints and crafts at our old table for countless projects and thus turning our table into a “Jackson Pollock”). Gone are those days. A new table in a rich dark stain sits in my simple home. The children are old enough for new rules and to stick to them. Even my lil 3 year old fella has whole heartedly agreed to put the pretty plastic table cloth on the table BEFORE ANY AND ALL CRAFTS! Woo Hoo! It’s so pretty.

We went bowling as a family this night, and a semi funny thing happened. Remember how before I told you about how I bought this shirt when thrifting with two of my girlfriends and they said they didn’t like this shirt, but I was in love with it! And they are both very stylish friends, but honest friends, great friends. I like honesty. But their honest opinions didn’t change that I loved this shirt and still do. WELL, at bowling one of those girlfriends was there with her family and as I walk up she says, “Cute shirt!” To which I laughed pretty good and reminded her what she said about it the day I bought it. She chuckled and took another look and says,”No, this isn’t the same shirt?” I say, “yes it is. Ha ha.” And she laughs and says , “It must look a lot better when its on, cause it’s really cute!”

My favorite thing about this outfit? The unexpected twist of wearing the aqua belt and earrings with it. It felt like it took it from the typical pretty winter outfit, to a little pop of unexpected Springtime! Right? Did you notice it’s snowing again, and we’re suppose to get more! My springtime outfits in a few weeks are gonna look crazy ridiculous in my backdrop as it takes till May to melt!!! Ha ha.

That’s right, I’ve been dating my hubby for 9 years and still going strong baby!!! Once a month is what we usually get for a date night. The kids are all finally old enough that they can all stay the night somewhere else. Bliss! To me, there is nothing hotter than big huge dangly (get your mind out of the gutter) earrings! And my honey liked the way I wore the Remix necklace as a belt and the little pearl dangles jingle jangled as I walked. “Twit Twey,” whistled he!

Well, you can see from all of our snow and ice in the pictures that it’s definitely NOT spring time, but hey, once you are inspired, it’s hard to hold back! I toned down the bright colors and print with the brown v-neck sweater over it, but I fully plan on some crazy mad color and print mixing with it later. Fun fun!

What do you think? Are you excited about the bold colored prints getting popular, like I am? How crazy will you go with it? In magazines I’ve seen some really crazy bold print mixing that looks so fun for Spring especially!

Yep, I’m wearing TWO layered sweaters and the one underneath is actually a button up cardigan! This would never work if I was home all day, since we keep our woodstove blazing, but this day I was taking my son shopping and knew I’d be in and out of the car and coldish stores all day, and it was perfect for that! (I think I just broke the record for longest sentence in the world and probably worst grammar too!) Anyhow, who else has a 7 year old boy and knows how crazy fast they grow out of pants AND wear out their shoes?! Yipes!!! The boy went over night from jeans that were a tad toO short to way too short! And boots that I was hoping would last through the winter, were at the point he literally couldn’t wear them one more day (heel peeled off of his expensive cowboy boots by running backwards, in case anyone was wondering how their son peeled a heel off of a boot! and a stick broken hole through the bottom of his snow boots!) Sheesh!!!
Oh, yes, and this outfit is my attempt at a neutral color outfit. I just can’t do it can I? I love color too much and ended up calling the green a neutral in my mind. Green, the new neutral! Ha ha!

What do you think? Do you have times when you can wear two sweaters layered instead of having to wear a jacket? When? Do you have to add color to your outfit too or you just don’t feel complete?

Some days it’s just plain fun to throw your hair up into the messiest bun you possibly can. I call it The Messy Housewife Bun. Perfect for a fun look on a not fun day of cleaning house. Did you notice I’m wearing shoes NOT in my 30X30? Sorry, but after whining about my 7 year old blowing out all of his shoes, my little oxford wanna be shoes blew out too! Maybe it’s the harsh ice around here making shoes brittle? Well, my $6 oxford wanna-be shoes are now in the shoe repair shop getting a $20 sole repair. I think it’s worth it since I know I’ll have these shoes for years and years. And how about that sweet gingham and thermal flower print together. Sweetness! And then I funkied it up with the asymmetrical and super long and lovely necklace and loads of bracelets.

Ah, this picture was actually taken earlier than the last pictures, where I was explaining that my oxford wanna be’s are in the repair shop, so that’s why they are in these pictures. Sorry for the shoe confusion, ha ha! I love this outfit, it’s classyish and so full of fun – sparkles, flower earrings, colored tights, shorts with decorative side buttons, grey items mixed with brown shoes, fun huge Carnelian ring….. too fun.

What do you think? Think this is a bit crazy (like my honest husband did? I appreciate his honesty, we just laugh about it when he doesn’t love one of my outfit creations, don’t worry.)? Or is it totally fun in your book like it is in mine?

I told you all about the Clothing Exchange party I went to a while back, and now I finally get to share with you the lil outfit I wore that day! Shorts in the winter, can you believe the crazyheadedness!!! Thanks to really thick and comfy sweater tights, my lil chicken legs were warm as toast despite it being super freezing out! My hubby was not quite sure about these funny lil shorts with my funny lil oxford wanna-be shoes, and niether was my daughter, BUT the gals at the Clothing Exchange seemed to like it a lot and so did I. I don’t wear mini skirts, so this is a fun modest alternative to mini’s!!!

Two of my new favorite items ever! We’ll start with the jacket. I found it at Plato’s Closet Consignment and instantly was a little twitter- pated by it (twitter pated, you all know that term from the Bambi cartoon Disney movie right?!), then I tried it on and realized that it was a match made it heaven! It fits perfectly, is the perfect thick fully lined weight for cold days, AND has that vintage looking flare that I adore! Love it. Now, how about those perfectly stylish flare leg jeans?! I’ve seen this exact style and color of jean sported so beautifully in so many blogs and adds but couldn’t afford the price tag on them. Imagine my surprise to find these babies at my friends clothing exchange party! FREE!!! That’s right, I got them for free and I couldn’t have gotten a more exact to my likeness pair if I had tried! Some days, things just work out very well.

What do you think? Love the Sherlock Holmes jacket, does the huge collar, snug leather detailed waist, and under waist flare make you swoon too? And how about those flare leg jeans, I snagged for free? Amazing hugh?!

The day these photos were taken I felt like I was lacking inspiration. I knew I wanted to wear these pants, but what do I wear with them, and how do I make it not boring? I debated not posting these pictures even, not sure if it turned out fun or fuddy duddy?! In reality, though, it was in person a perfectly cute and comfortable outfit that felt special due to the mix of colors, the bold stripes, and the funky belt and jewels.

What do you think? Fun or fuddy duddy ( in case you don’t know – fuddy duddy means old fashioned or like an old unstylish person would wear it (at least that’s what it means in my noggin!)?
