Just getting back from working at Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. So on this season of Project Runway 11, I was only able to work on the finale during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. As usual our call time was at 4am so I never sleep, I stay up after working because I’m commuting from Connecticut that I have to drive in. Before leaving I got the house ready for the big Nor'easter that we, the Tri-State were getting later this afternoon. So if I get stuck in the city the kids would have food & heat.

I was very excited about this seeing designer Sammy B because I got to work with her a year ago in Harlem for Harlem's Fashion Row photo shoot. Like many people who meet & work with her, I fell in luv with Sammy B. I was also excited about meeting two other designers, Stanley Hudson & Michelle Lesniak Franklin. I was praying that I get to do the makeup for their models. Stanley collection was very old era meet new era classy women. Stanley had these rings that had my names written all over them. Michelle clothing mesmerize me that I couldn't even do my work, I kept looking at the all her models that kept coming in. I was Christmas shopping in my head. I ended up with getting two of Patricia models in one of Stanley model.

I always enjoy going to @GaranceDoré home to do her makeup. She's elegant, funny, and luv to chat makeup. Upon my arrival she was doing her own nails. Once her nails dry she wanted to give me a proper greeting which means a hug and cheek to cheek bisou. I unpack all my L'OREAL Paris makeup goodies, and asked about what fab event she was getting herself into so I'll know how to prep her face.

I decided to keep her makeup look clean & natural. Today it was all about showing her skin. I couldn't wait to use some of L'OREAL Paris new items on her like my favorite; Revitalift Miracle Blur and True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer. Of course I reached for my oldies but goodies: HiP high intensity pigments Concentrated Shadow Duos in Shady, HiP high intensity pigments Bright Shadow Duos in Flare, and Glam bronze pressed bronzing powder. All done...magnifique!!!

A Glam Day With The Ladies Of WNBA

It's always a fun time when I get to do hair & makeup with the ladies of WNBA & ESPN. What's special about working with the ladies is that don't do hair & makeup everyday. But when they do they enjoy it in they appreciate the makeup looks that I give them. What I uv is how flawless the ladies skin is, it's like a perfect canvas.

WNBA Basketball Player Swin Cash can I say SUPERMODEL, she is gorgeous and she luv makeup so I had a great time painting her. ESPN Anchor Hannah Storm is another fun and glamxurious canvas that I could paint everyday. Not only is she pretty but she's a sweetheart. Very easy to talk to and very receptive about what makeup colors I selected for her. My favorite, WNBA President Laurel J Richie is striking with great skin that I never have to use a lot of makeup on her. I enjoy giving her what I call a signature look that I like to do on her. I always keep her hair in a classic style noting to fussy.

Because the ladies are busy and don't have the time to keep touching up I like using long wearing makeup items so they don't have to do many touch up's throughout the day.

WNBA is making some new changes within the brand and behind the scene I plan to take the ladies to a new sophisticated makeup look.

Couture From The Runway To Your Nails

Nail art has become the new trend amongst teens and women. Many walk around with adorned nails just as edgy and embellished as their jewelry, clothes and shoes. There are just as many shades of nail polish as there are lipsticks. And with so many yummy shades to choose from, even the polish obsessed can get their fix. Miss My Makeup Studio & Beauty Bar

I remember the first day Tamicha Roberts (my personal assistant) and I found this storefront. It would be my second location makeup store in New Orleans. When we walked in I fell in love without taking two steps. The exposed brick walls, high ceilings, concrete floors, and large windows I knew I had to have all 2400sq ft of it. I didn't care how much it would cost I just knew that this was going to be mine. Tamicha and I started coming up with ideas, laughing as we each would yell out something fabulous.

I had so many amazing things happen to me there. I worked on many beautiful women of New Orleans as well as celebrities and out-of-towners. I threw many parties and held my most popular in successful Friday Makeup & Martini's days that its still popular amongst nightclub promoters in New Orleans.

My life has completely changed since August 2005. The last time I saw it I didn't recognize it. It cost me so much heartache with insurance companies, alarm companies, entergy, etc. but I still miss it & my clientele off 600 plus women. I've grown as a makeup artists. been bless to work with so many people, companies, events, TV shows, fashion shows, etc.

I was so happy to see that one of my favorite single High School on Nicki Minaj latest album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded-The Re-UP music video snippet has been released by Grizz Lee. Not only do I love this upbeat track but Lil Wayne is also on this single. In the video it shows Lil Wayne & Birdman happy, having a great time with Nicki. It's a side of them that many never get to see so it just made me smile and I wanted to share this with you guys. Definitely brings back memories of when I did videos with the guys several years ago. Thanks Grizz Lee for making my day today!

Today at the Old Navy Showroom I met up with TV Personaliy & Stylist Brad Goreski to groom him for his press event today with Old Navy. Brad is always fun to work with and I look his dapper style. Today he was rockin DSQUARED2 looking like the guys, Dean & Dan Caten. Because Brad has great hair and skin it's always easy to style his hair and doing his makeup. A Family That Shovel Snow Together Play Together

Today is a snow day for myself and my son that is still in high school due to 6 inches snow that we received at 4am here in Connecticut. Since my husband had to still go to work we got up and decided to all participate in shoveling so hubby could get out the driveway. After 2 hours of getting the snow from the front door and driveway someone thought it would be a great idea to have a snow fight. I love these family moments...now it's time for hot chocolate with marshmallows and a movie.

How I Kept Brad Goreski Flawless For His Old Navy Segment on Katie Couric

It started out really ugly and I was a little disappointed because I got up to do my hair and makeup really glamxuriously for Brad Goreski. I thought I left ugly weather in Connecticut it was ugly, but by the time I got to New York it was uglier. Regardless how much Elnett satin hairspray I sprayed in my hair, it just wasn't cute any longer. I arrived at Old Navy in SOHO and set up my area before Brad arrived. I'm a fan of Brad so I knew what products I would need to groom him for the "How To Upgrade Your Style With Old Navy" segment with Katie Couric. I selected all of my to go to men products from L'OREAL Paris and my favorite hair products. For makeup I selected Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day HD Foundation and I used L'OREAL Paris True Match Powder.

I knew Brad had entered the store because I could hear his voice as he was greeted by the ladies from Old Navy. When they introduced Brad to me he was more fabulous than on his Bravo Reality TV Show, It's a Brad, Brad World. He was wearing this amazing fuchsia Burberry trench coat, purple shirt, eggplant bow tie and black fleece pants. A look that only a trendy stylist like Brad could pull off...so a' la mode.

Effortless L'OREAL Paris Spring Makeup At Project Runway During Fashion Week

Yesterday Project Runway call time for hair & makeup was 4:30am. Regardless of how early the call time is every year, I always look forward to doing makeup at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Getting booked to work New York Fashion Week always excite me.

One of the makeup looks for the morning show was an effortless look. It was all about minimum foundation with luminous skin. No eyeliner, no powder, no contouring, no highlighting, and no lashes.

To pull of the fresh face makeup look, I used 1 drops of L'OREAL Paris Day Lotion, 1 drop of L'OREAL Paris True Match Lumi Foundation, and 1 drop of L'OREAL Paris Magic Lumi. I mixed all 3 products on my palette and I used my fingers to apply to the model face. A perfect spring look; young, soft, and fresh.

I started my morning with a request from Anita Hill for hair & makeup at the Entertainment Weekly Magazine Lounge inside L'OREAL Paris Suite. Once done one of my favorite ladies, Mora, Director Of Public Relations came at 10:00am to escort me over to The Skylodge hotel. This will be my first time meeting and working with L'OREAL Paris beauty blogger Kandee Johnson. When I arrived to the room I was greeted by Kandee mom and her precious daughter. Kandee came out and we clicked right away...after determining we are both huggers.

Mora shared with me what Kandee day was going to be like and the look that was needed. Since Kandee was going to be doing video with The Sundance Channel I knew I had to pop her makeup just a little. I luved, luved, luved, her face. What a great canvas to work on, I told our VP of Public Relations later that I would like for Kandee to be my muse. Because she wears makeup very well.

First Day At Sundance Film Festival Was With Robert Redford

My first day of Sundance Film Festival 2013 kicked off with working with the king of Sundance, Robert Redford once again. The day started off getting dropped off to the Egyptian Theater where I will groom Mr. Redford for all of his appearances and interviews that he had lined up. After getting him ready I packed up my hair & makeup kit, then I was brought over to The Sundance House HP where the rest of his press junkets would take place. One of the Entertainment Correspondent was CNN Host Nischelle Turner who I have actually done makeup on in the past. I was so excited to see her and actually so proud of her. We were able to give each other luv for only a few minutes. Such a supported person she shared with Mr. Redford how we met and that I was a great makeup artist. How sweet.

Grooming: On Set For Rock Band Imagine Dragon Music Video

In November, I worked on a fun music video for indie rock band Imagine Dragon new song Radioactive that took place in Old Bethpage, NY. I was ask to only do makeup for the amazing Actor Lou Diamond Phillips. LDP as he like to be called is a childhood actor that I was a huge fan of. I've been watching him since 1986, some of my favorite movies and TV shows he was in was of course La Bamba, The Three Kings, Stand and Deliver, Young Guns, Courage Under Fire. In recently, Law & Order SVU, Numbers, Filly Brown, and Southland. So when makeup artist Joann Simkin told me that it was going to be the most easiest assignment I ever did she was correct. LDP was easy to groom and his makeup didn't move so he didn't need a lot of touch ups to say we shot outside the entire time. But it was freezing outside so that helped a lot.

LDP kept both hairstylist Shavaughn and I entertain on set the entire time, even in the car as we headed home. I had so much respect for him because he arrived alone, no bodyguards, no entourage no manager, nada. He was like a part of the crew that's how you know he's a real actor...he came to work.

I dust his face with L'OREAL Paris True Match Powder then very lightly using a large powder brush I tap him with Make Up For Ever HD Powder.

A Classic Winter Bridal Makeup Look On Your Wedding Day

A winter bride, especially when there is a light snowfall, can be beautifully romantic and very fairy tale-esque. There is something elegant and magical about having a wedding amidst the natural beauty of an all-white winter with the decadence of fallen snow as a backdrop. To become this celestial winter bride, sparkle less, shimmer more and turn your winter makeup into a winter wonderland.

What's not so fabulous is dreary and harsh winter light that can make any bride look less stunning in their pictures. Winter wedding makeup should be different from the make-up you would normally wear. To pull off that classic radiant winter makeup look it is important you have it professionally done.

First, start with a luminous foundation like L’OREAL Paris Lumi True Match to give you a subtle healthy glow. You can also mix a small amount of Benefit cosmetics High Beam into your foundation to achieve a dewy radiant glow. On the eyes select, shimmers of white, silvers, and pink, for the lids only. On the lips, glossy nudes and poinsettia reds are classic winter wedding looks. Smashbox cosmetics have the best show stopping, high shine lip gloss, called Reflection High Shine. When selecting a blush color, I prefer Stila cosmetics Custom Color blush in a soft shade pink (nothing too rosy) that will make your cheeks look flushed. Now that makeup has been airbrushed on with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics the model is waiting for hair. As she's wait patiently for hair I'm cleaning my tools so I can be ready for makeup look 2. The first look is all about the bright yummy pink lips from OCC. It's a new lip tar call Yaoi, an obnoxious true fuchsia metallic shade. On her eyes, I sprayed her with OCC loose colour pigment in Clove, a champagne shimmer. The model was channeling the iconic and fabulous music artist Jody Watley from the 80's with her beautiful head of natural hair. So I gave the model a very strong dark brows that Jody use to rock back in the days. I was out of my favorite Urban Decay lashes in Black Velvet so I used the Baby Doll strip lashes on her. The rest of her face is all about strong highlighting & contouring. Once hair is done, I'll probably tweak her makeup a little more. For now it's all about GLAMXURIOUS!!!!

L'OREAL Paris Makeup Artist Glam The Ladies On Sherri's Wig Segment

As everyone know Sherri Shepherd is a wig lover and finally she shared her love with The View audience and fans. I was honor to work on the models some months back when she launched her collection with Tabitha Coffey and Daisy Fuentes for LUXHAIR.

Sherri collection consist of 11 synthetic styles in different length and shades. She has short styles for conservative woman and long flirty curls for the siren. I had the pleasure of being asked to key the segment for the 5 models. I brought in my bestie Tiffany to assist me with executing the looks. Because it is a daytime talk show I wanted the ladies to look to pretty and not to over the top. Can you believe I didn't use eye lashes and/ or strips. I wanted the ladies makeup to look polish like The View target audience.

My makeup of choice was 99.5 % from L'OREAL Paris USA. I used between the True Match & True Match Lumi Foundation. I did slightly dust them with Make Up For Ever HD powder. On the eyes I used a mix of HIP eye shadows & Infallible 24hr eyes shadow and eye liner. I lightly dust their cheeks with Stila cosmetics custom color blush and L'OREAL Paris True Match Powder Blush. On the lips I opt for L'OREAL Paris Colour Riche lipsticks and leGloss. So who said beauty has to be so expensive.
