			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you can&#8217;t remedy your sleeping disorder by natural means, then insomnia medicines may become necessary. However, taking medicnes to help you sleep can have adverse effects on your health as well as really muck up your sleeping patterns so most doctors will only prescribe these medications for short periods of time. Using these medications for more than two weeks can trigger drug intoxication or hangover as well as drug dependence. </p>
<p>There are many other methods that should be tried to help prevent insomnia.  These include exercise and trying to develop good bedtime habits. Over-the-counter medicines are also used but only for mild cases of Insomnia. For severe cases of Insomnia, your physician may prescribe sleeping pills and many are quite effective at helping you get a good nights sleep.  Below are some Insomnia medicines that your physician may prescribe in order to help you deal with your sleeping problems. </p>
<p>Lunesta is a new drug that the FDA has already approved and is out on the market. This drug may be used for a longer period of time because it does not cause drug toleration and there are tests to back up this claim. </p>
<p>Sleep aids usually work by affecting the neurotransmitters and drugs like antihistamines function by blocking the effects of neurotransmitters in the brain. Meanwhile Benzodiazepines are drugs that bind to a cell receptor and inhibit the neurons a good example of a Benzodiazepines is Valium. For years, Valium is considered as one of the  best tretments for insomnia because  it does not give the user a hangover the next morning.</p>
<p>Another common medicine used to counteract Insomnia is the Tricyclic antidepressant. This is probably what your doctor will prescribe for you at first.</p>
<p>Anxiolytic as well as Sedative Hypnotic medicines are also used for the treatment of Insomnia. The hypnotic or sedative medicines work by promoting drowsiness to make a patient go to sleep. Sedative tend to decrease the patient’s activity while hypnotic medicines triggers drowsiness which makes a patient fall asleep. If taken in smaller doses, patients may feel refreshed and do not wake up easily but in higher doses, these result in deterioration of physical activity and sleepiness. </p>
<p>Many sleep experts believe that primary as well as secondary sleeping disorders push people to buy and use both prescription and non-prescription medicines that may cause negative side effects instead of curing Insomnia or the sleeping disorder. </p>
<p>Again, no matter how useful these sleeping medicines may be, consulting a doctor is still a must in order to satisfactorily resolve or cure a sleeping disorder. Some drugs that may appear harmless to others may be fatal for some due to factors such as allergic reactions or any other complications. </p>
<p>To prevent any negative side effects, ask first for your doctor’s recommendation. If your physician requires you to undergo some tests then do so before buying or using any of these Insomnia medicines. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sleep apnea is a condition where the breathing of a sleeping person is interrupted. Most people who have sleep apnea problems are not aware they have this but common symptoms such as gasping and choking are often experienced. The first person who notices that a person is having breathing difficulties while sleeping is the bed partner. If the affected person continues to ignore his or her sleep apnea problems it can become fatal or life-threatening at least.<br />
Common symptoms of sleep apnea include loud snoring, gasping for air during sleep, waking up suddenly to breath, sore throat, heavy sweating, dry mouth, headaches or falling asleep at untimely situations like during work or while driving.<br />
Many people think that snoring and sleep apnea are the same but they are not. Snoring is caused by an obstruction in the airway during sleeping and which causes the loud sound but sleep apnea is a condition where a person does not take in oxygen because the airways are completely blocked. The fact that a person cannot breathe oxygen can be fatal. Although snoring is often associated with sleep apnea, everyone who snores does not necessarily have sleep apnea.</p>
<p>If you have sleep apnea problems, you should not ignore them as it causes you to stop breathing while you are asleep. The imbalance between carbon dioxide and oxygen directly affects the circulation system which also triggers the brain to reset the breathing processes. The brain sends signals that will cause a person with sleep apnea to wake up and remove any obstacle in the airway. </p>
<p>Aside from being life threatening, other effects of sleep apnea deprive a person of oxygen as well as sleep. Frequent urination as well as heavy sweating are also indications of sleep apnea. Sleep deprivation causes the individual with sleep apnea and his or her partner to feel more exhausted while oxygen deprivation may lead to dire circumstances such as increased blood pressure, memory or learning concerns or can be deadly for the affected person due to lack of oxygen.  </p>
<p>For people who are suffering from this condition, seeking the help of a medical practitioner who specializes in sleeping disorders is recommended. This condition should not be ignored because the life of the affected person may be endangered. Even though this condition affects a number of individuals being aware of what it does should be enough to cause you to seek medical help. </p>
<p>Researching sleep apnea problems on the Internet is also a good way of becoming aware of the serious effects of this sleeping problem. In the event that you or your bed partner has been diagnosed with this condition, precaution as well as treatments should be followed to avoid bad consequences. As always prevention is better than treatment but if you think that you are too late for this then listen to what your doctor will tell you because it may save your life. </p>
