She moved this couple to dance,

of course everyone was moving to her...

I saw this man play that tuba with more than one band...

they all loved him...

This man showed how we all felt after listen to this lady

They just start playing in the middle of the street...

The buildings that line either side of the streets where

they play, make for the perfect acoustics.

and when he plays... the music matches the musician..

He and his buddies play on the streets of New Orleans...

Wonderful, magical, New Orleans,

you can't help but dance your way down the streets.

I hope to show the beauty and the mystery of New Orleans.
And the damage and pain

was left behind by Katrina...

It is next to impossible to believe that we as a county still

have not taken care of wonderful, soulful area of our country.

In Palm Springs California

April 10th

Koffi 2 is having an opening party at 6PM featuring my

Art Work. The work is already hanging there and will stay up thru the end of April.

The show is really two shows in one. The first is Shelter, featuring homes

painted in oil and their moods.

The moods of homes are as varied as the moods of the

people who inhabit them. If you are in Palm Springs come by and see the exhibit

at Koffi 2 on East Palm Canyon

and Camino Real

There are many more paintings

than what I have shown here.

Opera in the Park in Palm Springs

A wonderful day for Opera in the Park in Palm Springs...

Jesus Leon, tenor, gave an inspiring performance along with

Joshua Guerrero, and Liam McLachlan. It was magical.

The audience was entranced.

Karen Vuong, Soprano, made the day even more special.

Tracy Cox, Nick Zammit, Jacquelynne Fontaine, Karen Vuong, and Joseph Kyungteak Lim

all relaxing back stage in the park.

Karne Vuong and Joseh Kyungteak Lim gave me a chance to take this special photo.

The performances of these talented young opera stars was

enjoyed by us all.

Conductor Valery Ryvkin at Opera in the Park Palm Springs.

Valery Ryvkin is the Artistic Director of the Opera Santa Barbara and

Greensboro Opera Companies.

Valery Ryvkin also conducted the San Francisco Opera, the Chicago Lyric Opera,

Austin Lyric Opera, Portland Opera and the Sarasota Opera.

Opera star Jacquelynne Fontaine, Soprano, placed 4th with the

PSOG compitition and as a Western Regional Finalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, performed at Opera Showcase this January.

C G Ryche Performing at Palm Springs Arts Institue Masters Series

It seems ever since this summer, when I spent hours in jazz clubs in Chicago,

I have been getting more into music... the sound and the visual.

I am a volunteer mentor with the Friends of the Arts Institute of Palm Springs High

School thanks to a top notch teacher and counselor named

Richard Kravitz. I will talk more about him and what he has done for PSHS in a future post...

Richard Kravitz is designing a better world for the students

of Palm Springs High School.

One of the programs he has put together for the Arts Institute is the Masters Program.

The first performer for this was C.G. Ryche.

I was overwhelmed by this percussionist...

C. G. and his wife were so very generous with their

time, they came from LA to Palm Springs for no money just to

show our students his music and to light a fire under them about

what they can achieve. Thank you C. G. Ryche.

And I just saw your

performance on PBS it was incredible.

C. G. has Performed & Choreographed percussion for companies including: The NFL, Disney, Nike, Pixar, Hollywood Picrtures, Major MMA events and PBS.

The Art of Touch...an exhibit.

This couple was a joy to watch

They just couldn't stop touching...

As you can tell I am an observer of everything beautiful...
and this is beautiful
How people touch is so important.. it conveys how we feel, it is an expression of love,
caring, protecting, fear, joy, comfort, adoration and on and on.
I am currently working on an art exhibit called The Art of Touch, which I hope to take on
a tour around the world. There is a great deal I have learned from working on this... I will be sharing more photos from this exhibit over the next few weeks.

ART CHOCOLATE & TEA

As most of you know I live in this darling little town called Palm Springs,

the last few posts have featured this enchanting desert city.

Palm Springs is also the backdrop for the classes I teach.

With winter season coming soon I will start teaching once again

Photography and Drawing

Today I am going to show you where I will be holding my sketching and photography classes. This is Cafe Chocolate on North Palm Canyon in Palm Springs

What better combination than Art Chocolate & Tea.

For both the photography and art classes we start off at this lovely cafe for tea

and Chocolate and discuss either photography or sketching.

The view setting is similar to what you would see in Europe.

Home Coming Parade Palm Springs Style

My kids are grown, but I live in a small town, Palm Springs,

where home coming parades are

a very big deal and a great deal of fun.

We have a fantastic band that has traveled the world,

this summer they even went to Africa.

How adorable are these kids... our future.

This is the Arts Institute float, it is a wonderful program started by Rich

Kravitz, a counselor at our High School. If you are into fine art, fashion, music,

theatre, or the culinary arts you are welcomed and encourage to participate in this

incredible program.

She can't wait to become part of this!

Of course, what would a Home Coming Parade be

without the Football Team

But no one has more fun than THE BAND

I have been taking Yoga for over 30 years. Since moving to Palm Springs I have been attending the yoga classes at Urban Yoga
