Thanks to everyone submitting bugs we’ve squashed about a dozen or so, some minor and some major but they will all make your experience on Inspiration Folder a better one. Please keep in mind that we’re serious about making this site the “go to” site for design inspiration so if you notice any bugs or have any ideas for improvements please let us know.

It has come to my attention that some people might not want their site on Inspiration Folder(for what ever reason) so if you would like your site removed please contact me and it will be removed ASAP. In no way shape or form am I claiming any of this work as my own and I’m sorry if anyone feels I’ve infringed on their copyright.

Inspiration Folder Dashboard Widget Released

The dashboard widget allows Mac users to see their Inspiration Folders and the sites they have stored in them right on their desktop. This widget works great when working with external editors like Photoshop where you can quickly popup your Dashboard to look over your designs.

This widget is currently only available for Mac users.

New ColourLovers.com Palettes Feature

colourlovers.com offers a nice API to access their huge database of color information. I love colors and I figured this would be a good excuse to add a new feature so I replaced the color info on the site details page with a new popup with more information. You still get the hex value along with the RGB and in addition if palettes exist using this color they will be shown too. Enjoy and let me know if you notice anything funky going on and if you have any other others for new features.

I stumbled upon a new Google service the other day I figured it would be cool to have. I’ve added it so people can translates the comments to another language so if it’s easier for you to read comments in another language you can simple click the language of your choice and the comments with automatically be translated for you. After testing on one page for a week I released it to all pages so any page with comments you should be able to translate. To give it a try visit…

2,700 New site added

I’m amazed…yet again. I’ve been sorting and sorting the last few weeks and today I’m adding another 2700 sites to the site, this brings the total sites to over 20,000…make inspirationfolder.com by far the largest web design gallery on the net. Hope you enjoy, also feel free to post up any ideas you may have for the site.

I must say I’m a little overwhelmed with the response, between all the new users and our moderators adding sites we’ve added 1,193 new designs to the gallery. We’re assuming(and hoping) that this is because we’re still new because my eyes can’t handle reviewing 1,000 new sites every week!! Keep up the good work, we’re seeing some great design come in

Claim Your Designs feature up and running.

We want to make a feature where you can claim a design and add in things such as designer comments and have a sort of mini portfolio on Inspiration Folder; we’re beginning with the ability to claim your designs. The only safe way we could think to do this is to require you to put some code on your site to verify you have access to the site. At this time if you don’t have access to the site(it was for a client or something) there is no way to claim a design but if you still have access you should be able to put your unique meta tag in the page and claim it. You will find this new feature under the ‘My Profile’ section and we will keep everyone updated when a new feature is added to section. We’re starting with “Designer’s Comment” which will let you leave a little comment about your design so others can hear from you. If you have any ideas for this feel free to post them up here as a comment.

Goal Reached: 15,000 Web Dessigns

After we passed the 10,000 design mark my next goal was to get 15,000 and it’s be reached. Now I can sleep and work on fixing up other sections of the site while added a few hundred sites a day instead of thousands. Enjoy.
