Stunning Houseboat in Seattle

2011-11-18T12:15:00.000-05:00

I must admit I am a bit jealous of Sue, the owner of this Seattle houseboat. The idea of living near water in a cozy home really sounds good to me. It gets better for me with the fact that this houseboat isn't in a tropical place as I couldn't live in constant hot weather. I think Josh and I would be very happy in this home, except it is not where God wants us right now.

Robert Doisneau - Paris 1940s, 1950s

2011-11-05T19:33:00.003-04:00

Robert Doisneau was one of the first photographers I came to know of. The photograph above was framed in in the TV room of the home where I grew up. These photographs really capture some amazing moments of the old times in Paris.

"I like people for their weaknesses and faults. I get on well with ordinary people. We talk. We start with the weather, and little by little we get to the important things. When I photograph them it is not as if I were examining them with a magnifying class, like a cold and scientific observer. It's very brotherly. And it's better, isn't it, to shed some light on those people who are never in the limelight".

Piano Stairs - The Fun Theory

"Can we get more people to choose the stairs by making it fun to do? Check out the 'Piano Stairs', part of Volkswagen's Fun Theory campaign.

We believe that the easiest way to change people's behaviour for the better is by making it fun to do. We call it The Fun Theory."

The Fun Theory is a site dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better. Check it out! They've got some very fun and interesting videos.

A colorful creative force of an apartment in Nimes, France

2011-11-02T13:09:00.000-04:00

Myriam and her family moved from Paris to Nimes, France so they could adopt a life of peace and sweetness with this more spacious apartment with high ceilings and large windows. I love the cozy and cheerful feel of Myriam's artistic skills.

All tapestries from the walls were removed to give a rough feel, which is contrasted by charming floral fabrics on these Scandinavian chairs.

How To Love God

2011-10-31T12:27:00.000-04:00

How To Love God

“To love God in the most practical way is to love our fellow beings. If we feel for others in the same way as we feel for our own dear ones, we love God.

“If, instead of seeing faults in others, we look within ourselves, we are loving God.

“If, instead of robbing others to help ourselves, we rob ourselves to help others, we are loving God.

”If we suffer in the sufferings of others and feel happy in the happiness of others, we are loving God.

“If, instead of worrying over our own misfortunes, we think of ourselves more fortunate than many many others, we are loving God.

“If we endure our lot with patience and contentment, accepting it as His Will, we are loving God.

“If we understand and feel that the greatest act of devotion and worship to God is not to hurt or harm any of His beings; we are loving God.

“To love God as He ought to be loved, we must live for God and die for God, knowing . that the goal of life is to Love God, and find Him as our own self.”

Great Wall Tea Co.

2011-10-28T13:13:00.001-04:00

The Great Wall Tea Co. is a small tea shop in River Market at Westminster Quay, BC that was designed by Marianne Amodio Architecture Studio. This tea bar concept offers over 150 types of tea form all over the world.

But what caught my eye in the first place was the creative design of 568 different magnetized tea containers on the wall. Definitely a happy place for tea lovers like myself.

Backgammon: Game and Fashion

2011-10-26T12:20:00.001-04:00

I love backgammon, one of the oldest table games. Its history goes back to approximately 5000 years. I used to play against my mom and brother at the beach all the time and recently played against my brother with those individual screens on an overseas flight. So when I found this dress I was pretty excited because I think they did a great job with the graphics and the colors.

Who thought a backgammon-inspired dress could be totally wearable?

You can find this cute vintage style tea dress here.

And below are some backgammon photographs I enjoyed.
