LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN

2010-06-07T01:03:00.000-07:00

"Weather Report" by BJ Gallagher

"Any day that I am vertical is a good day" ... that's what I always say. ~And I give thanks for my health. ~If you ask me, "How are you?" I'll answer, "GREAT!" because in saying so, I make it so. ~And I give thanks I can choose my attitude. ~When life gives me dark clouds and rain, I appreciate the moisture that brings a soft curl to my hair. ~When life gives me sunshine, I gratefully turn my face up to feel its warmth on my cheeks. ~When life brings fog, I hug my sweater around me and give thanks for the cool shroud of mystery that makes the familiar seem different and intriguing. ~When life brings snow, I dash outside to catch the first flakes on my tongue, relishing the icy miracle that is a snowflake. ~Life's events and experiences are like the weather - they come and go, no matter what my preference. ~So what the Heck?! I might as well decide to enjoy them. For indeed, there is a time for every purpose under Heaven. ~Each season brings its own unique Blessings ... And I Give Thanks!

Even Eagles Need a Push

INSPIRATIONAL VIDEO

Even Eagles Need a Push
The eagle gently coaxed her offspring toward the edge of the nest. Her
heart quivered with conflicting emotions as she felt their resistance to
her persistent nudging. “Why does the thrill of soaring have to begin
with the fear of falling?” she thought. This ageless question was still
unanswered for her.
As in tradition of the species, her nest was located high on the shelf of a
sheer rock face. Below there was nothing but air to support the wings
of each child. “Is it possible that this time it will not work?” she
thought. Despite her fears, the eagle knew it was time, her parental
mission was all but complete. There remained one final task – THE
PUSH.
The eagle drew courage from an innate wisdom. Until her children
discovered their wings, there was no purpose for their lives outside the
nest. Until they learned to soar, they would fail to understand the
privilege it was to have been born an eagle. The push was the greatest
gift she had to offer. It was her supreme act of love. And so, one by
one, she pushed them and they flew.
We must remember that success begins when we understand that life is
about growing; it is about acquiring the knowledge and skills we need to
live more fully and effectively.

Our Deepest Fear

Our Deepest Fear

by Marianne Williamson

from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Paul Potts (Don't Judge the Book by its Cover)

2010-05-18T08:27:00.000-07:00

efore Susan Boyle, Paul Potts brought goosebumps to Britain’s Got Talent.

This is Simon Cowell’s and the other judges’ description of Paul: “After a horrendous first day of auditions where the one highlight was a dancing pig… a very nervous looking mobile phone salesman shuffled on to the stage. And I sighed and I thought, ‘here we go again’.”

“And then when he announced that he was going to sing opera, well, you’ll cringe inside wondering what timeless classic he was going to mangle beyond recognition.”

“Then he opened his mouth, and much to all our surprise he had the voice of an angel. I couldn’t believe it. The audience erupted in spontaneous applause, and of course I burst into tears.”

“… Now I’ve never been particularly good at admitting I’m wrong; but I am happy tonight to create history: I WAS WRONG.”
