For All Sons and Daughters:
How Good Can it Get?

Reignite longing for the love you sought with first breath in this life;
Recall the dream that called you here, the call you recognize.

You are not what others label you, nor can you be unloved;
Your path through life is blessed by Earth below and sky above.

Even feeling weak and troubled, your words and smiles heal;
You are the very conduit by which dreams become real.

You are not the triumphs nor the troubles you or others think you caused;
Nor are you bad or evil, nor can you ever be truly lost.

The purest essence of your being is infinite, eternal love;
The quiet voice inside you is a compass guided from above.

Feelings of joy, love, fear, anger, sorrow--your true self sees them all;
Emotions come and go like words written, then rain-washed off a slate wall.

Hold fast to your highest values--the ones you treasure best;
Know that by life...
Read More of Today's Inspiration >>

As I have had the opportunity to study more than 400 of the world's top achievers I have found a single interesting key to creating greater productivity and success in all areas of life.

It begins with our neurotransmitters.

Thoughts move through our brain over a pathway that begins with a neuron, then crosses a bridge called a synapse and is received ultimately by a receptor called a dendrite. Neurotransmitters send signals over the synaptic bridge between neurons and dendrites. This is the exact place where the critical thing happens. The information in the thought either makes the jump over the synaptic bridge and continues on or it does not.

Simply put, there are two kinds of neurotransmitters: those that activate and allow the message to go forward, and those that inhibit the message and prevent it from going forward.

So when it comes to creating success which one is more important? While they both are important I would argue that there is one th...
Read More of Today's Inspiration >>

Everyone has different tastes in what they like. That means that you don't have to be someone you're not. Be your most authentic, genuine, and loving self, because there is someone (if not many someones) who will love you just as you are.

Discrimination & prejudice; fast tracks to missing out on amazing people and cool learning opportunities. When we are open-hearted and open-minded we create the potential for some awesome opportunities and amazing relationships.

The brain cannot think positive and negative thoughts at the same time. When fear, anger, stress, or resentment creep in try copping an attitude of gratitude.

You are amazing just the way you are. There is no need to mold, meld, or squeeze yourself into someone else's expectations. Being you is more than good enough and certainly more than enough. Anyone who thinks otherwise should take some time to focus on themselves and being who they are rather than trying to change who you are.

"Scheming and dreaming will fill your mind; taking action will fill your life."

As a couple approaching middle age, we've had our fair share of successes and setbacks. Throughout them all - marriage, divorce, remarriage, cross-country moves, career ups and downs, and finally traveling the world with just a backpack - we've come to 5 consistent truths:

1. Eliminating the negative and focusing on what feeds your spirit every single day will change your life far more dramatically than achieving one big goal.

This is when you'll have the space, energy and perspective to see opportunities in front of you. In choosing to not engage with the whiners at work, we performed better and made more money. In taking a walk every day, we reduced our stress, helped our hearts, and lost weight. In experiencing more small joys we increased our overall happiness.

2. Possessions limit experiences.

You can never destroy the essence of who you are which is pure being, you can only postpone your awareness to your own magnificence. ~ Denese Schellink

If I could share 500 words to inspire, this is the important wisdom I'd want to pass along to others...

There is a story of little girl in church with too much energy. She kept standing up on the chair and her mother kept pulling her down, but she would just keep getting right back up. Frustrated, her mother pulled her down again and put her hand heavy on her little girls head, pushing her down into a sitting position. The little girl sat there for a while, then began to smile. Then she said, "Mom, you know what, I may be sitting down on the outside, but I am standing up on the inside!"

This is the attitude of knowing there is a strength within me that knows nothing can keep me down, and that there is a Presence and Power in my life, God the Good, so I know I will stand up at the right appointed time.

It is not always easy to keep the faith. In this world, there are many challenges, that many of us face everyday of our lives. I know these spiritual teachings that we offer are wonderful, but when life shows up with all its distressing disguises, we sometimes can forget ...
Read More of Today's Inspiration >>
