There nothing like handmade, especially when its made with love!
I come from a family that believed in hand-made: my grandmother was a clothing designer, grandpa was a tailor, dad was a haberdasher, mom is a baker...and I am a jewelry designer! As a child I was learned to support the artists community. When I travel and when Im home, I visit art fairs, festivals, and galleries for inspiration....

I love to buy and make handmade products because I love to support WAHMs. I love to know that the products I am using are made with all natural products and are not mass produced. I would much rather support mamas than support large companies that do not put *love* into their products. I work from home in order to bring in extra $ and to be here for my daughter.

I've always loved handmade items as they're much more personnal and made with the love of the crafters for their arts. I started learning about handspun last year when some friends showed the ones they made. After buying quite a few skeins I figured that's what I wanted to learn next. I tried it and fell in love! It also brought the love of knitting back!
Hand-made is the best economic stimulus package going for Main Street USA right now since the Capitol doesn't seem to be able pull themselves together and create an effective plan. I always had a feeling that one day Big Business was going to ruin our society. It's unfortunate that I was so right.
my new passion is finding ways to re-use or up-cycle discarded and often forgotten about items. lately i've been focused on tennis balls. our local tennis club just throws these little darlings away by the hundreds in the summer... in the winter, thankfully, they donate them to local schools and after school programs for crafts and chair stoppers.

Having something that was hand-sewn is really a great treasure.

It is a one-of-a-kind thing that no one else in the entire world can have.

I have many aprons, clothes... that were made by my Grandmother, my Mom and myself that will be passed down.

I love getting handmade items and I love making and giving them to family and friends even more : )

I take great pride in my work and it is so gratifying when someone else really appreciates my work.

I like doing the same for others too when I see their hard work.
I make most of what I use, cook from scratch-grow my own organic herbs/veggies/fruits/nuts/flowers-make homespa products-aromatherapy products-and almost everything my family and friends need.

Handmade items have always been a part of my life, from the time I was born. One blanket was even lovingly handstitched by my mother just days before my birth. That was nearly 22 years ago. I still have that blanket, and both of my children have been lovingly snuggled in it, just as I was. Just as my 3 sisters after me were. Just as my future grandchildren will be.
How often does a blanket...

I love the little things. As in, the little whiskers stitched on my red kitty or the tiny felt berries made for a family of felt gnomes.

Personally I like to make little things. I think little things have big character. They're easy for tiny hands to hold and don't take up too much space. When I was a little kid I loved to set up miniature dollhouse scenes, and everything would be perfect...
