There are over 60 stalls! I’ll be selling my retired stamps, dies and punches, alongside promoting my classes and events. It would be lovely to see you!

There is no such thing as invisible glue for vellum! Your best bet is to using a clear adhesive, my favourite is glue dots, but hiding the glue is by far and away gives the “BEST’ result.

For this second card I made a feature of the vellum on the inside. The vellum was 12″ wide and I scored it at 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 7″, 8″ and 9″. Just be really careful when you are scoring vellum it tears if you press too hard.

I also talked about the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hybrid ink pad. I promised a review once I had time to test it. Sadly I can’t recommend it to replace Stazon and Memento Black ink at this time. My test showed it had a really long drying time and even when dry it smeared when using blends and water colour. Of course this is my experience and my personal opinion, but I won’t be using the ink in its current form.

I really appreciate the good wishes sent to me last week. I lost my voice and ended up taking a few days off. I am much improved thank you. I think my body was enforcing a rest! Its been a busy couple of months! Of course that does mean I’m playing catch up, I mean when do we ever actually catch up ??? That said I’ve been promising to sort out blog posts/emails of Craft and Chats that haven’t appeared on my blog yet. I actually finished them today. So you will find 3 Catch Up emails will be coming out in the next couple of weeks so you can see what you’ve missed. I will be sending out normal current Craft and Chats and videos as well.

Brian and I have a rare weekend with nothing planned, which is a good thing because I have 33 bare root plants arriving this afternoon. Not entirely sure where they will go in the garden, but I’m sure we will find space. In other gardening news, I didn’t kill off my Dahlias, so far 2 of the 3 I over wintered have got shoots, so I’m counting that as a win! My cutting flower bed is beginning to take shape with Ranunculus and Alstroemeria, Thank you to Judith for digging up some of her plant for me. Of course all that is dependant on the weather, yesterday it was so cold I had to fire up the log burner, and we’ve had hail 3 days this week!

So in an effort to get caught up and to share lots of crafting with you, I though I would make a few catch up blog posts on my Craft and Chats. I’m live on Facebook and Youtube every Tuesday at 2pm and I haven’t shared several. Today I have 3 videos to share with all the crafty projects too. The news and updates at the beginning may be out of date so your best bet is to whizz the video 20 minutes or so to the crafting!

Please note : “The hurrier I go, the behinder I get!” is often attributed to Lewis Carroll’s White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, but it doesn’t appear in the book. Its one of those mysteries of where it originated from. But it really does sound like the White Rabbit could have said it!

Can you believe its May today? The summer is nearly here! Hurrah!

May of course means new catalogue time, they have all been sent out, so if you haven’t received one and would like one please let me know. So back to the crafting, I love this card so much, its really quite simple but looks Wow! I used the NEW Bloom Boutique paper, which is all the NEW In colours and the focus of our Craft Together in June! Its amazing, of course I used one of the ones with Hydrangea Hue in it.

• Patterned Paper 12″ x 6″ with the long edge at the top score at 4″ and 8″
• Use a pencil to draw a line at 1 1/4″ from each edge with the short side at the top
• Score between the pencil lines at 2″ and 10″ with the long side at the top
• Cut along the pencil lines between the 2″ and the 10″ score lines at the top and bottom
• Fold as shown in the video
• The mats and layers are 3″ x 3 1/2″, 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ and 2 1/2″ x 3″ all landscape

Its a bank holiday weekend here in the UK, which means a 3 day weekend! I have a Creative Escape Workshop tomorrow which will be lots of fun, and then its family time. We have got lots of visitors arriving over the next week or so which I’m really looking forward too.

Its a busy weekend, tonight we set up for the show, which runs all day Saturday, then on Sunday I have my Team Fun Day. I get to hang out with some of my favourite people and craft. Team Fun Day is a choose your own craft adventure. I’ve made up kits of products and designed loads of projects, and everyone creates whatever they want to. Its wonderful to see. To make this card you need a variety of patterned paper and card stock strips in the following widths 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″ and 1 1/2″. I recommend that you stick them down onto a Silicone mat so it is easy to peel off. You will see on the video, using grid paper is not a good idea!

I actually made 4 cards on the video, I love it and keep designing with it, so there is more to come!

The final card, I stamped the background of Lasting Linen and then fussy cut one of the stems, a quick way to add interest to your card.

So which one is your favourite? I love the yellow card its so Spring like, but I think my favourite is the soft pink card, its really subtle.

Just a quick reminder I am now closing all my bookings for classes and events on the 20th of the month, for the following month. So on the 20th March 2026 I will be closing ALL my April classes and events. This includes my retreats and online and in person classes. Make sure you get booked asap.

So last weeks Craft and Chat focussed on the stamps and making a couple of cards, you notice I say last week….. this week didn’t happen, Tech issues and so many other blips in my world……. I’ll share the crafting first and then you can hear about my crazy life at the end!

I love stamping on patterned paper and the new wood grain wonder paper I used on the first card is being released on Tuesday. Its also part of the retreat, I wanted to include it because its such a useful paper, I’ll share lots of ways to use it.

My second card, is lots of fun, I know spring is coming, but the pop of yellow is like sunshine in my craft room. We could certainly use some of that!

So lets talk about my Spring Retreats, I have 2, one in person on the 18th April and one online on the 24th and 25th April. Booking is open right now!

There is lots of overlap between the 2 retreats, so you’ll only want to take one of them. But I wanted to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to join in. If you are not in the UK or already have the products we will be using, you can take the online PDF and classes version. No products will be shipped but I will send a list of products you need to gather.

During the In Person Cutest Crew Spring Retreat we will make a selection of cards using the NEW Cutest Crew Bundle and the Garden Poetry and Wood Grain Wonder Papers .  The cards will include fun folds and water colouring techniques and you will also receive a PDF measurement and cutting guide. This is a full day crafting event Saturday 18th April 2026 10am – 4pm at Catisfield Memorial Hall.

During the Online Cutest Crew Spring Retreat you will take 3 creative classes. Water Colouring with Pencils – Covering all the hints and tips and techniques you need. We will also make 10 All Occasion Cards in this class. Special Cards and Home Decor and Gift packaging. There will be pdfs with pictures of the completed projects and cutting details along with step by step video tutorials for everything so you can work at your own pace. We will connect on 2 zoom calls during the day as well.To get the retreat started I had to add a BONUS Retreat Eve Event in as well. There will be lots of fun and creativity on zoom the night before the Retreat. Held on 24th and 25th April 2026.

So, lets catch you up with whats been happening in Amanda’s crazy world. On Tuesday I was all set up for Craft and Chat and I switched on the computer and although the laptop was working nothing else was. I couldn’t get my screen cameras or microphone to work, I tried everything I knew, googled what I didn’t know and still couldn’t get to the bottom of it. So no craft and chat and I had to postpone my Craft Together online class as well. Not a good day!

After about 4 hours of working through all the things it could be, I figured out that it was probably the tech that drives the additional items and speaking to their support team, running diagnostics and on and on it went. We figured out it was working but only sometimes….. Hurrah! I like getting an answer, better still the dock was only 18 months old so under warranty, a new one is on its was as we speak!

Whilst that was going on my washing machine decided that it could no longer spin, or wash or do the things is should do. Then much like the dock it worked, and then it didn’t……. so Bosch are on their way next week, another save by a warranty.

And in and amongst all of that you may remember a couple of weeks ago, I popped a rib…… I saw the Osteo, he popped it back, I went back the following week as I was still in a lot of pain, especially when stamping, and that is a nightmare! The errant rib had taken 2 of its friends out! so 3 popped ribs, more work from the Osteo and they went back where they should be. Thankfully they all seem to be behaving at the moment, keep your fingers crossed.

Phew, so I think thats you all caught up. Theres lots of Stampin’ Up! stuff to share which I’ll do on Tuesday at Craft and Chat and in an email. because all those lovely new products are launching. I’ll send out PDFs and all of the info.

This technique is perfect if you enjoy soft, water-coloured effects and cards that are similar but never identical. By applying ink with sponge daubers and adding plenty of water, you’ll create splatted, puddled images that come to life once they are over-stamped. I’ll walk you through the supplies you need, how to position your stamp for perfect alignment, and how to control the amount of water to get different effects. I also show you a few easy ways to add extra splatter and sparkle using a paintbrush and Wink of Stella.

This technique is also ideal for batch making. Reapply ink, spritz with water, and repeat. You’ll notice that each image looks slightly different depending on how much water you’ve used, from lightly splattered to a full watercolour-style wash.

Before over-stamping, allow the images to dry fully. This usually takes around an hour, depending on the temperature of your craft room.

While the cards are drying, you can add extra splatter if you wish. Using a paintbrush, water, and ink on a block, gently tap the brush to create random ink splats across the cardstock. For finer splatter, flick ink using the inside of a sponge dauber. You can also add sparkly splats by tapping Wink of Stella in the same way, which gives a subtle shimmer once dry.

The finished cards all coordinate, but each one is unique. Some have soft, minimal splats, while others look almost like a painted wash. That’s part of the magic of this Stampin’ Positioner technique. This is such a fun way to experiment with ink and water, and it’s just one of many techniques you can create using a Stampin’ Positioner. I’ll be sharing more ideas like this over the coming weeks.
