Irvine, CA – June 11th, 2009 – SmartLabs, Inc. is pleased to announce the latest releases in their line of I/O Linc INSTEON Low Voltage / Contact Closure Interface Kits: I/O Linc – INSTEON Keypad Control Kit and I/O Linc – INSTEON Rain Sensor Kit.

About I/O Linc INSTEON Low Voltage / Contact Closure Interface

I/O Linc is a universal INSTEON interface with contact closure sensor input and a low voltage / contact closure relay output, monitors and controls any low voltage device. Thanks to several different output relay modes, I/O Linc can easily adapt to different types of devices. “Contact closure and low voltage are used to automate a wide array of home systems and devices,” says Laurie Maroni Vice President of Marketing at SmartLabs,”I/O Linc is flexible enough to support each type of home system and affordable enough for several to be placed around the home.” For the same price as a single low voltage interface with many inputs and outputs, several I/O Linc modules can be placed around the house in the locations where they are needed.

I/O Linc – Keypad Control Kit

The I/O Linc – INSTEON Keypad Control Kit enhances your INSTEON network by giving you the ability to operate INSTEON-controlled devices via a numeric code. By entering a numeric code into the keypad, an INSTEON signal can be sent to unlock doors for access control (door lock sold separately) and/or initiate lighting scenes using INSTEON devices such as Dimmers and Switches, Wire-in/Outlet Modules and/or Plug-in Modules. The keypad can be programmed with 56 individual access codes, each assigned to an authorized individual user or to a group of users.

I/O Linc – INSTEON Rain Sensor Kit

Combining the features of I/O Linc and a rain sensor, this kit will allow users to be alerted in the event of excess liquid (rain and/or water) build-up. The rain sensor can be placed anywhere where you would like to detect the accumulation of water. As soon as water starts to collect, the rain sensor will trigger I/O Linc to turn any INSTEON controlled lights or appliances on or off, notifying you of the condition. When used in conjunction with other I/O Linc kits, it can be used to trigger sprinklers to automatically shut-off when it rains, saving water and money, or it can be placed near the foundation of your home to help detect detrimental standing water and flooding.

Increase the versatility of an INSTEON home automation network by adding the I/O Linc – INSTEON Doorbell and Telephone Ring Alert Kit. Never again will you have to miss out on an important phone call or visitor because you didn’t hear the ringer or doorbell. Use this kit to notify you of a visitor or phone call when working (or playing) remotely in the backyard or in the garage. This kit is also great for when you’re listening to music and can’t hear the phone or doorbell. It’s also perfect for those that have a difficult time hearing certain frequencies. The doorbell and ring detector will initiate an INSTEON signal when a guest arrives and presses the doorbell or if you receive a telephone call. Using INSTEON devices such as Dimmers and Switches, Wire-in/Outlet Modules, and/or Plug-in Modules, you can program an individual or group of lights and devices to turn on as an indicator. Up to two doorbells and/or one phone line can be connected to the detector. Adding an additional I/O Linc to this kit will allow for two distinct INSTEON commands to be sent from separate door bells or from a door bell and a telephone.

Irvine, CA – May 18, 2009 – SmartLabs, Inc. is pleased to announce the latest releases in their line of I/O Linc INSTEON Low Voltage / Contact Closure Interface Kits: I/O Linc – INSTEON RF Proximity Reader Kit and I/O Linc – INSTEON Doorbell and Telephone Ring Alert Kit.

I/O Linc – INSTEON RF Proximity Reader Kit
Combining the features of I/O Linc and an RF proximity reader, this kit will allow users to wave a wireless RF ID key tag in front of the proximity reader and send INSTEON commands. The INSTEON signal can be used to unlock doors for access control (door lock sold separately) and/or initiate lighting scenes using INSTEON devices such as Dimmers and Switches, Wire-in/Outlet Modules and/or Plug-in Modules. The weatherproof RF proximity reader can be mounted near a door or entry area and includes six RF ID key tags with one trillion possible code combinations for added security.

I/O Linc – INSTEON Doorbell and Telephone Ring Alert Kit
The Doorbell and Phone Ring Detector works with I/O Linc to initiate an INSTEON signal when a guest arrives and presses the doorbell or if you receive a telephone call. Using linked INSTEON controlled devices you can create a visual alert with lighting to let you know when your phone or doorbell. Up to two doorbells and/or one phone line can be connected to the detector. Adding an additional I/O Linc to this kit will allow for two distinct INSTEON commands to be sent from separate door bells or from a door bell and a telephone.

Don’t take a chance at having your automatic irrigation system go on as usual while freezing weather sets in overnight; only to wake up and see a landscape frozen over, with ice on adjoining driveways and sidewalks. The I/O Linc – INSTEON Freeze Sensor Kit can help prevent these situations before they happen. An INSTEON signal is sent when the temperature drops below 39° F to notify you of the concern. Ice buildup is hazardous to the life of your lawn and plants and can also be hazardous to those who may accidentally walk or drive on it. Additionally, you can take corrective action to avoid the threat of frozen pipes. As part of your INSTEON home automation network, this kit will act as an early alert system, triggering lights or appliances to turn on in the event that indoor or outdoor temperatures start to fall towards freezing.

Sensor mounts on the interior or exterior of your home to monitor temperature

When temperatures dip below 39° F, sensor contacts open sending a signal to the I/O Linc

Once signaled, I/O Linc will trigger INSTEON-controlled lights or appliances to turn on

Early notification can help prevent the use of irrigation and other systems that can create ice buildup

INSTEON compatibility for outstanding performance

Price: $68.99

Increase the versatility of your INSTEON home automation network using I/O Linc – INSTEON High and Low Temperature Threshold Kit. This kit was designed to monitor temperatures and alert you via your INSTEON network when an upper or lower temperature limit has been reached. The temperature sensor is user definable, allowing high and low temperature thresholds to be set between -30° F to 130° F. The sensor is also flexible enough to be used to monitor low temperature only, high temperature only, or low and high temperatures at the same time. Once a threshold has been reached an INSTEON command can be sent, turning INSTEON controlled lights and appliances on or off. With INSTEON you can create programs for controlling temperatures in remote areas that are susceptible to extreme temperatures, such as attics, garages, basements, and wine cellars. Ideally, you can link this kit with an I/O Linc – INSTEON Telephone Alert Kit so that you will receive a phone call if high or low temperature thresholds are reached, allowing you to take immediate action and possibly save your property and equipment from costly damage. Use the I/O Linc – INSTEON High and Low Temperature Threshold Kit to monitor temperatures, expanding and enhancing your versatile INSTEON network.

Don’t loose an entire freezer full of food in the unfortunate event of a freezer failure. Whether it’s the freezer in your kitchen or the one you have in the garage, the INSTEON I/O Linc Freezer Failure Sensor Kit can send an INSTEON signal to your home network to notify you of the concern as soon as the temperature in your icebox reaches above 39° F. In addition to wasted food, a failing freezer can have ice buildup inside that can quickly turn to water when the temperature inside rises, possibly causing damage to your floor if the water were to leak. As part of your INSTEON home automation network, this kit will act as an early alert system, triggering lights or appliances turn on in the event that your freezer fails.

Sensor sits in the freezer to monitor temperature

When freezer temperatures rise above 39° F, sensor contacts open sending a signal to the I/O Linc

Once signaled, I/O Linc will trigger INSTEON-controlled lights or appliances to turn on

Early notification will help prevent a complete thaw of ice and food
