Community Health Choice – Single Source Claims Portal

In an effort to administratively simplify Medicaid claims submission, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is creating a single source claims portal that Community Health Choice (CHC) Providers may use to submit claims. The claims portal was announced in an article published on December 1, 2011 on the TMHP Web site. Read the article on CHC’s website at www.CHCHealth.org > Provider News.

Summary

Effective for dates of services on or after March 1, 2012, Providers will be able to submit electronic claims to TMHP for services to Medicaid clients whose benefits are administered by a Medicaid managed care Organization (MCO). TMHP will accept Medicaid claims submissions and forward the claims as necessary to the correct MCO based on the client’s eligibility on file.

Providers who have contracted with more than one MCO plan will no longer need to separate their Medicaid claims for submission through different channels. Providers can choose to continue to submit claims directly to the appropriate entity. When submitting claims directly to CHC, Providers must follow the guidelines established by CHC for claims submissions. Review CHC’s guidelines on their website at www.CHCHealth.org > Providers > Claim Center.

Exceptions

TMHP will not forward the following claims submissions. They must be submitted directly to CHC or to the dental plan that administers the client’s Medicaid managed care benefits:

Paper claim forms
Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), including CHIP Perinatal

New Referral Process for Universal HMO Masterpiece Members

EFFECTIVE January 1, 2012

MM/ HM/ MP – Medicare Masterpiece HMO and HMO-POS Members are now required to obtain a PCP REFERRAL for an office visit to an in-network specialist*. The REFERRAL can be submitted via the website OR by sending a PCP Fax Referral Form to Universal.

HR/ SA/ SC/ SE/ SN – Premier and Special Needs Members now require a REFERRAL (formerly an authorization) for an office visit to an in-network specialist. The REFERRAL must now be submitted via the website OR by faxing a PCP Referral Form to Universal.

* A Referral is NOT required for any of the plans above for the following in-network Specialists: Dermatologist, Chiropractor, Podiatrist, Optometrist, Ophthalmologist or GYN (for annual Well Woman visit only).

INSTRUCTIONS: Go to Universal’s website at http://www.univhc.com/doctors/pcpref/. Complete the PCP Referral Form and submit. You will receive an immediate response with the confirmation number. Print the form and either give to the Member to take to the Specialist or fax directly to the Specialist.

You may also utilize the PCP FAX Referral Form and send to 1-855-589-1564. Upon receipt, you will receive an automated fax reply with a confirmation number. Write the confirmation number on your original PCP Referral Form and either give to the Member to take to the Specialist or fax directly to the Specialist. You may only send one request per fax; the confirmation will not indicate the referral information; i.e. member name, etc. The Referral Form cannot be used for Out-of-network Specialist office visits or services requiring an authorization.

Coming Soon: The online version of the PCP Referral Form will be moving to and available through Universal’s NEW Provider Portal, which is scheduled to launch in mid-January. Your individual provider Username and Password will then be required to complete the on-line form. Send an email with provider’s full name, address, individual NPI and TIN to providers@univhc.com if you need your Username and Password.

Discontinuation of Bravo BPHP Form in 2012

Effective January 1, 2012, the current Bravo BPHP form will be replaced with a new Comprehensive Exam Form. Primary Care Physicians should discontinue completing BPHP forms for Bravo members seen after December 31, 2011.

IntegraNet PCPs should continue to submit all 2011 BPHP forms/corrections to the BPHP fax number at (877) 788-2744 for processing. All questions related to BPHP forms, corrections, payments should continue to be directed to the BPHP Team or to your IntegraNet Provider Relations representative.
